Honestly the real star find was a NICE hardcover edition of Junji Ito's Gyo :O excited to read through a physical copy! Also found a Junji Ito I'd never read, so looking forward to another blind dive when I finish No Longer Human :3c

In the manga you can kind of excuse everyone's complacency with the spiral curse because only one dastardly, supernatural thing happens at a time (a side effect of the manga being released weekly in Big Comic Spirits, according to wikapedia).

But in the ANIME??

Six fucking spiral things happen in episode TWO—I know they got a lotta ground to cover to get through a twenty chapter manga, but that is so many horrific and strange events to occur all at once.

What do you MEAN Kirie—and everyone else for that matter—isn't FLEEING THAT TOWN WITH HASTE.

The pacing in the manga makes it feel like "oh yeah Shuichi's parents died strangely, and there's been a few other odd things here and there, but it's not that big a deal". But in the anime YOU ARE CRAZY IF YOU DO NOT THINK THIS IS GROUNDS TO FUCKIN' SKEDADDLE DAWG.

when you’re trying not to jump the gun bc the series isn’t over yet and you do plan to watch the entirety before making any final judgements but it seems already that the show you’ve been waiting five whole years to watch has completely nose dived in quality by episode 2

i am once again asking for recommendations for manga that are complete. i'll try basically anything, i've read a bunch of different genres, but i do like good fight scenes. favorites include jujutsu kaisen, witch hat atelier, dungeon meshi, chainsaw man, spy family, my hero academia, fullmetal alchemist. i also love some good horror content (huge junji ito fan). i'm not a BIG romance fan, background is totally fine, but i don't think i would like a Romance Manga. interesting female characters is a plus.
