There is something so tragic about the sibling bond In-ho and Jun-ho have
Ever since I got obsessed with Squid Game, their relationship stood out to me, and I'm a sucker for hurt/comfort and family and just imagining In-ho meeting his baby brother for the first time, giving him A KIDNEY and then he has to shoot Jun-ho and it's so tragic!
Anyways. I wrote something. Instead of studying for my exams... enjoy!
(a small glimpse into In-ho and Jun-ho's relationship as Jun-ho grows up)
masterlist | next part
what remains. | Hwang brothers
The room was dark. In-ho stood frozen in the doorway, fingers tightening around the strap of his bag. He reached out, fingers hovering over the switch, but he didn’t flick it on. The only light spilling into the room came from the hallway. In-ho waited. His eyes adjusted to the dim glow flickering through the curtains, casting soft shadows over the crib in the corner. It was smaller than he expected.
In-ho swallowed hard. He’d known about the baby for weeks now, but knowing and seeing weren’t the same. This wasn’t just an idea anymore, some distant concept of a sibling. No, this was real.
He hesitated, still standing perfectly still in the doorway. In-ho could recall the voice of his mother, the disgusting tone when she told him about his father and his now stepmother. Growing up, In-ho had always known that his parents had issues, but seeing the living breathing consequence of those issues… the reason why his parents finalized their divorce…
He shook his head. He banished the voice of his mother, biting his own underlip to keep the traitorous words inside his mind, he didn’t want to repeat those words. The baby was not at fault for his parents’ issues. It was wrong for his mother to blame an innocent child.
He let the trap of his bag slip from his shoulder, slowly placing the bag down on the floor, before he dared taking a step into the room. It was so quiet. He took step after step, hesitantly, his footsteps barely making a sound against the floor. He stopped mere inches away from the crib, his torso bending forward until his arms rested on the wooden railing of the crib. He peered inside.
The baby stirred, his tiny hands curling into fists, his chest rising and falling with quiet, even breaths. In-ho stifled a gasp, taking a deep breath through his nose. He reminded himself that he had known about the baby – this half-brother – but standing here now, watching the rise and fall of a life so new, so fragile, made it real in a way he hasn’t prepared for. This was real. His half-brother was real.
And for the first time in his sixteen years, In-ho wasn’t sure what to do next.
He couldn’t remember what he had expected to feel. Maybe nothing. Maybe resentment, fuelled by his mother’s venomous comments. But instead, there was just… silence. A strange, hollow kind of stillness.
The baby. His half-brother. His father’s child. A stranger, and yet, blood. Something unfamiliar tightened in his chest.
He didn’t know how to be a brother, he’d never thought he’d have to be one. While he focused on the baby’s tiny chest, counting the quiet, even breaths, he wondered if that even mattered.
In-ho glanced at the small dresser next to the crib, recognizing the stuffed toy sitting on it. A tiny smile tugged on the corner of his mouth. It was his stuffed toy. The same well-loved duck In-ho had carried around everywhere when he was a toddler. In-ho had sifted through his desk months ago, when his father first acknowledged the existence of the baby, and had given the duck to his stepmother in lieu of a proper present. Now, the duck sat next to the crib, watching over the baby, as if a part of In-ho had been there all along.
His eyes drifted from the duck to a framed photo and next to it, a neatly embroidered blanket draped over the edge. The stitching was slightly uneven, like someone had done it by hand, but the name was clear enough: Jun-ho.
In-ho swallowed, unsure what he was even doing here, what he was supposed to feel. His hand hovered hesitantly over the crib before, without thinking, he reached down.
Jun-ho was so small, impossibly small. His face soft and peaceful in sleep. In-ho’s fingertips brushed against the warm, delicate skin, and then – tiny fingers curled around his own.
In-ho froze.
Jun-ho’s tiny fingers were warm and oh so small, but still holding on with surprising strength. He didn’t even know who In-ho was. He didn’t know what a brother was, didn’t understand the weight of the world, or the choices that had led to this moment. But none of that mattered. He held on anyway. Without question. Without hesitation.
In-ho swallowed hard, his throat tight. It was a strange thing to be trusted so easily. No one had ever handed him trust before. He had always had to earn it, to fight for it. But here was this tiny, helpless baby, offering it without a second thought. It was terrifying. And it was something else too – something he couldn’t quite name, something that made his chest feel heavy and hollow at the same time.
Jun-ho trusted him. Expected him to be there. And for the first time, In-ho realized just how much that meant. Because if this baby trusted him… maybe, just maybe, he couldn’t let him down.
❛ ━━━━━━・❪ 〇△□ ❫ ・━━━━━━ ❜
At first, it was awkward. In-ho didn’t know what to do with the warmth in Jun-ho’s mother’s voice when she spoke to him, with the way she smiled at him like he belonged, like she wanted him there. It wasn’t something he was used to.
His own mother had never been soft. She had been distant, cold in ways that left a quiet, aching gap in his childhood – one that had long since hardened over. He had learned young that comfort was something other people had, that tenderness was a luxury he was never meant to expect.
But Jun-ho’s mother? She was different.
She cared. Really cared.
She never treated him like an outsider, never hesitated to make space for him. She asked if he had eaten, if he was sleeping enough, if he needed anything. She left out an extra plate at dinner without asking if he would stay – because she already knew he would. She called him son in passing, like it was the most natural thing in the world.
And it scared the hell out of him.
Because it was easier to be distant. It was easier to stand just outside the warmth of their family, to tell himself he was only here for… he didn’t even know why he kept coming back to them. He told himself that it was because of Jun-ho, not because some part of him wanted to come back.
But then there were nights when he was dead on his feet, exhausted from school, from work, from everything, and his stepmother would press a warm mug of tea into his hands and tell him, “You’re doing a good job, In-ho.”
And something in him cracked.
Because no one had ever said that to him before. No one had ever looked at him like he deserved to hear it.
He didn’t know how to be her son. He wasn’t sure if he ever could be.
But she was still there. Quietly. Patiently. Loving him in all the ways he had never been loved before.
And maybe, just maybe, he wasn’t as alone as he had always thought.
❛ ━━━━━━・❪ 〇△□ ❫ ・━━━━━━ ❜
The first time Jun-ho wobbled on unsteady legs, his tiny hands reaching out for something, someone, to hold onto, it wasn’t their father who caught him. It was In-ho.
It had always been In-ho.
He hadn’t planned for it to happen. It wasn’t like he’d woken up one day and decided to be the one to catch Jun-ho when he fell, to be the hands that steadied him, the voice that soothed him, the constant presence in his world.
Their father had always been good at disappearing, of slipping back into old patterns like a man following a well-worn path. His promises were always soft, always fleeting. I’ll do better this time. I’ll be around more. I won’t let you down. But he slipped through the cracks and made himself absent in a way that felt intentional, like an old habit he never quite shook. Falling back into old habits was easy after all. Stepping up? That had never been who their father was.
So, when Jun-ho took his first steps, it was In-ho who knelt in front of him, arms outstretched, waiting. It was In-ho who cheered when tiny feet stumbled forward, and who caught Jun-ho before he could hit the ground. It was his name that Jun-ho spoke first. The syllables clumsy but clear, unmistakable.
Not ‘Appa.’
Resentment burned in In-ho’s chest, sharp and steady. Because every time their father returned like nothing had changed. But everything had changed.
It was In-ho who caught Jun-ho when he stumbled, who soothed his cries, who stayed. And yet, Jun-ho still looked at their father with hopeful eyes, too young to understand that he would always leave in the end. But In-ho knew. He had learned that lesson long ago. And no matter how much he resented the man who should have been here, he swore that he would never be like him.
It wasn’t fair. None of this was fair.
But Jun-ho didn’t know that. He didn’t know what he was supposed to have, what he was supposed to be missing. All he knew was that when he lifted his arms, In-ho picked him up. When he cried, In-ho answered. When he reached for someone to hold onto, someone to trust… it was always In-ho.
And with every moment, every milestone, the role of ‘older brother’ blurred into something bigger, heavier, something that settled deep in his chest and refused to let go. He wasn’t just a brother anymore. He was something else. Something more. He was the one who made sure Jun-ho never went to bed hungry, the one who stayed up through fevers, who soothed nightmares, who stayed when their father didn’t.
He hadn’t asked for this. But Jun-ho hadn’t asked to be left behind either.
So, In-ho stayed. Because someone had to. Because Jun-ho trusted him. Because the moment he had reached into that crib and felt tiny fingers wrap around his own, there had never really been a choice.
❛ ━━━━━━・❪ 〇△□ ❫ ・━━━━━━ ❜
In-ho built his life on his own. He put himself through university, became a detective, and earned everything with his own hands; his own effort. He never once turned to his absent father for help, never relied on his stepmother’s kindness, even when he knew she would have given it freely. Not because he didn’t appreciate her, but because he still didn’t know how to. He had never relied on a parent before. He had learned young that no one would catch him if he fell, so he made sure he never stumbled.
And he knew it hurt his stepmother. Knew she wished he would lean on her the way Jun-ho did, that he would let her be his mother, too. But the lingering thoughts never left him: “if he accepted her help, wouldn’t that mean he was taking her for granted?”
Wouldn’t that mean he expected her to stay, when he had spent his whole life learning that people didn’t? So, he kept his distance. He loved her in the only way he knew how: by never being a burden. And maybe that hurt her more than anything else.
When In-ho left for university, Jun-ho was only two years old. Small and wide-eyed, his little voice filling the house with endless questions and more often than not, it was In-ho he called for.
Leaving wasn’t easy. Not because he doubted his choice; he had worked too hard to get into university, had spent too long making sure he would never have to rely on their father for anything, but because of Jun-ho. Because every time he packed his bag to go back to school, Jun-ho would waddle after him, grabbing at his pant leg, his voice high and insistent. “Hyung, no go! Stay!”
And it nearly broke him.
He came home as often as he could, squeezing visits in between classes, taking overnight buses just to be there for a few days. It was exhausting, but the moment he stepped through the door and Jun-ho came racing toward him, arms outstretched, eyes shining as he shouted “Hyung!” – it felt worth it. Jun-ho would climb onto his lap, showing off new words he had learned, babbling about his favorite toys, his favorite songs, everything he had stored up to tell him.
But the visits never felt long enough. Before he knew it, he had to leave again. And each time, Jun-ho got a little bigger.
By the time In-ho became a police officer, Jun-ho was six already, just starting school, but still clinging to him whenever he came home. No matter how long he had been gone, no matter how much time passed between visits, Jun-ho’s face always lit up the moment he saw him, like nothing else mattered.
But the visits weren’t as frequent anymore. Work kept him busy, cases ran late, and sometimes, even when he wanted to, he just couldn’t make it home. And that was how, one afternoon, he found himself running late to pick Jun-ho up from school.
By the time he pulled up in his patrol car, the schoolyard was empty. Except for Jun-ho, sitting alone on the steps.
His little backpack rested beside him, too big for his small frame, his legs swinging idly as he watched the street. But he wasn’t upset. He wasn’t crying. He wasn’t even restless. He was just waiting. Waiting for In-ho.
The guilt hit hard. Harder than it should have. He had tried to get here on time. He had rushed. But life, work, had gotten in the way, like it always did. And just for a moment In-ho compared himself to their father.
When he stepped out of the car, Jun-ho’s head lifted immediately, his face breaking into a bright, certain smile.
“Hyung!”
He jumped to his feet, grabbing his bag and running toward him without hesitation. No frustration. No disappointment. Just the absolute trust that, late or not, In-ho would always come.
In-ho crouched as Jun-ho threw his arms around his neck, squeezing tightly, as if he hadn’t just been sitting there alone.
“Sorry I’m late,” he muttered, ruffling Jun-ho’s hair.
“S’okay!” Jun-ho chirped, pulling back just enough to grin at him. “I knew you’d come!”
And that was what got to him. The unwavering belief in his voice, the simple, unshaken certainty that no matter how long he had waited, there had never been a doubt in his mind: his hyung would always come.
Swallowing the guilt, he nodded toward the police car. “Wanna ride in the front?”
Jun-ho’s eyes widened. “Really?”
“Really.”
Jun-ho scrambled in, his excitement bubbling over as he settled into the seat, his feet barely reaching the floor.
As In-ho buckled him in, he made a silent promise to himself. No matter how much time passed, no matter how late he was – he would always come back. Because Jun-ho never doubted him. And he never would.
masterlist | next part
(edit [10/02/25]: I posted these scenes separately again cause I made a masterlist, and it's easier to organize the scenes chronologically like that. all next parts will be linked through the masterlist!!!)
So.... yeah. I apologize for any weird sentences. English isn't my first language, and while I do study English, actually writing non university related stuff in English is something I haven't done in years! Can you believe it?
I definitely have more little scenes and scenarios planned with In-ho and Jun-ho, like In-ho meeting his wife and Jun-ho wanting to become a police officer like In-ho. Just some cute family bonding stuff! And some hurt/comfort cause In-ho does give Jun-ho a kidney....
I think I will cross post this to Ao3 too! When I'm certain that I have every little scene I want for a first chapter: maybe up until In-ho's wife gets sick? And then the second chapter might be about In-ho's games and how he became the frontman.

[cut off here :3]
Dae Ho loved you. He loved the way you look, the way you talk, the way you walked. The way you even breathed made his heart race in his chest like a teenage school girl in love with.
But, after he met your family something, was added to the mix. See, you had multiple siblings. 4 to be exact. One was.. basically a baby, which your mother had obviously recently had.
Once he saw you cooing and giggling with the baby he stared at you in awe, a feeling of adoration fueled dizziness washing over him, does...he want kids?
No. No he can't have kids, he's..too young..but God..the way you look when you play with your little brother. As if your the happiest you've ever been..he couldn't help but imagine you playing with a mini mix of you and him, running around the house playing a game of tag or something.
"what's wrong?" Your mum patted Dae Ho on the back softly and he tensed up before relaxing his muscles, realising she's not a threat.
"they're..really good with kids.." he mumbles, half under his breath, half at your mother. Smiling to himself but a red tint dyed his face.
"...heh- they sure are. Y/N helps a lot with little Jun-San here, he's only a baby so he needs lots of attention." She says back, smiling as well, obviously proud of how she raised you.
Dae Ho blushed again, and looks at you again, now playing with some Hot Wheels car as Matthew giggled at the little voices you gave for the cars.
He slowly makes his way over to you and plops himself behind you, cross legged as he lays his head on your chest.
"...can we go somewhere..I need to.. ask you something." He mutters in your ear, his warm breath hitting your ear, making you shiver slightly.
"uhm..yeah, yeah of course." You say as a hurried reply before waving a quick goodbye to Matthew and giving him a gentle kiss on the forehead.
"I'll be right back, okay hon-?" You grin at the infant and it giggles back, doing grabbie arms at your mum and she rolls her eyes playfully as she raises him up in the air.
Dae Ho gently takes your hand and leads you to the bathroom upstairs, where he knows people can't hear anything inside.
"..s-so... uh..I saw you with Matthew..uh! Adorable kid- b-by the way!-" he stutters out nervously and goes slightly red, before blurting out as fast as he could suddenly.
"iwaswonderingifyouwanttohaveakid-!!" He basically stutters out plain gibberish and he can tell he has as your expression shows nothing but confusion.
"..what..? Dae..can you go a bit..slower?"
He breathes in softly and breathes out.
"o-okay, so...feel free to say no! But- uh..do you, perhaps want...kids-like..kids kids...like uh.." he mumbles, fidgeting with his fingers and shirt nervously, a nervous tic he has whenever hes scared/ anxious about an outcome.
"oh..! Uh..well- it's kinda a..hard decision and—" you start but he cuts you off needily.
"p-please..i-i don't care if you can't, have them..i-i can try my best..y-you don't know if my cums different-" he whimpers out desperately, wanting to breed you so, so badly. Fuck, he was willing to do anything...
"..i-..Dae...I mean..you can try—" you start to chuckle softly but you get cut off by Dae Ho picking you up and chucking you on the counter and kissing you.
This wasnt his, 'normal' kisses, this was rough, searing. You whimper into the kiss which makes him groan softly.
"b-baby-.." he whispers, pulling away from the kiss reluctantly, a line of saliva connecting your tongues. He presses his bulge against yours and he starts grinding against it slightly.
"..ha-haah.." you moan gently and dig your nose into the crook of his neck and nuzzle it hard, whining like a dog that's just been denied a treat.
"shh..shh baby- don't worry.. I'll- ngh..look after you-" he whispers, trying to keep his own moans in, but they come out as choked, soft sounds of pleasure.
He tugs slightly on your shirt and lifts it over your head, revealing your chest, he whimpers as he begins basically worshipping it with his teeth and tongue, biting gently and licking anywhere he could possibly leave a mark.
"s-sweetheart- lemme-lemme fuck you..breed..you..please-" he whispers against your chest and digs his face into it.
"o-okay- ill- should i-"
"s-say you consent..please—" he whines out softly, God he's so cute..
"i-i consent.." you whisper back and almost immediately you feel your pants get pulled off, he grabs you and pulls you on the floor.
"G-get on top of me—r-ride me—" he says, trying his best not to just grab your hips and rut into you like a man possessed.
You nod softly and quickly straddle the desperate man, and begin to take off his pants too, only a pair of sweatpants, pronouncing his already twitching cock.
He whimpers needily and shivers as you outline the pulsing bulge in his boxers.
"d-darling...d-dont tease.." he whispers and moans softly, almost desperately as he softly humps into your hand, whimpering like a puppy in heat.
You suddenly pull down his boxers and let his ever hardening cock slap against his stomach, drooling precum down it's already soaking shaft.
"aw...you must've been desperate huh?" You coo softly and spit onto your hand, beginning to stroke his cock softly, pumping it slow at first, making him let out soft mewls and curses under his breath as he fucks himself with your hand.
"baby—" he whines softly and tilts his head back, quivering harder as you begin to get faster with your strokes, making it wet and ready for it to just, slip in without any restraint.
"jus' lemme...fu-fuck you...please.." he whispers gently and shivers.
You nod and let go of his leaking cock, as he whimpers in protest, but instead of letting him get used to the feeling of nothing wrapped around him, you begin to lower yourself down on his length.
".. h-hng-..." You feel him start to press into you, and you shiver as he starts to rock his hips up into your soft, tender bounces.
Loud moans and slaps of skin on skin fill the air for a while until you hear gentle desperate words.
"i-i wanna—breed- you— so bad— let me- c-cum inside you..."
He mumbles needily, his thrusts up getting more erratic as time goes on.
"please—im-im gonna cum- please..i-i wanna breed you—breed...my- my beautiful partner...mh-mine— y-your mine—" he slightly growls into your neck and you feel him tense up and dig his nails into your shoulders.
"C-cumming- cumming...i-in...haah...good...hng..." He says, his voice completely stripped of any past dominance.
"..d-dae ho..." You whisper softly, your voice hoarse from the intense ectasy crashing over you like a tidal wave, your orgasm melting through you.
"..i-i love you.." he mumbles and nuzzles into the crook of your neck.
"love you..too.." you mutter back, panting from the strain.

Could you please do a head canon list for regressor Junho? (the cop, if names escape you)
Regressor! Jun-ho Headcanons
•First started regressing as a way to relieve stress from when he was a detective. He didn’t regress very much, probably about once a month or once every other month and it was typically voluntary.
•Though, after his time on the island, he started regressing a lot more and it was almost always involuntary.
•The main cause would be from having nightmares about seeing all of the players being shot or when he himself got shot and fell from the cliff and into the ocean.
•Before the games, In-ho used to watch over and take care of him whenever he’d regress. Though now, since In-ho’s in charge of the games, Jun-ho has to take care of himself. That wouldn’t be a huge problem for him, except for the reason why In-ho wasn’t there for him anymore.
•Every time Jun-ho thinks about why his brother isn’t there to care for him anymore, he can’t help but break down into tears and cry for him, since he misses him.
•Jun-ho is typically really emotional and sensitive when he regresses. He cries and gets upset very easily. He also tends to be super anxious and just wants someone to keep him safe.
•When he first started regressing, he’d often regress around 5-7 and sometimes around 3-4, if he was stressed out more than usual. However, since being on the island, he started regressing a lot younger, normally being somewhere around 1-3.
•Gi-hun knows about his regression, but only because during one of the training days, Jun-ho accidentally regressed due to being overwhelmed by everything going on and being stressed.
•Both Gi-hun and Woo-seok helped him out when it happened, even though Woo-seok had absolutely no idea what was happening. Gi-hun had to explain it to him and, even with the explanation, he was still very confused, but he did try his best to help Gi-hun care for Jun-ho.
•If he regresses while he’s having a good day and in a good mood, Jun-ho is just the happiest little guy ever. He’s always smiling and just giggling at everything. He can also be pretty playful as well.
•Weirdly, he likes sleeping on the floor a lot. If he’s sleepy and doesn’t feel like going all the way to his bed, he’ll just fall asleep on the floor. He can sleep anywhere if he’s tired enough.
•He’s a very deep sleeper. The only things that will wake him up in the middle of the night is someone purposely trying to wake him up, which usually takes a while, or if he has a nightmare. Other than that, he just sleeps until he eventually wakes up.
•When someone watches over him, Jun-ho follows them around everywhere they go. He doesn’t like being alone, he has to be with his caregiver at all times.
•He has an old baby blanket that he loves and will carry it around with him.
•He chews and suckles on his fingers a lot. Whether it’s out of boredom or because he’s anxious, he’s often seen with his fingers in his mouth.

on hwang in-ho/front man, seong gi-hun and their dynamic.
first, idk why people are getting so upset at other people calling gi-hun dumb, we were told that in the first season. lol being bright is not his strongest trait but he has a good heart and we love that about him. however, he is still an idealistic gullible idiot with a gambling problem. except this time his gambling addiction is backed by a sense of justice and righteousness and he no longer gambles with money, he’s gambling with people’s lives. front man asked a good question at the end of the season, “did you have fun playing the hero?” can we even call gi-hun the hero of the story anymore? he gambled with people’s lives and front man showed him the consequences of his moral heroics.
front man only agreed to help gi-hun with his revolution when he mentioned about "small sacrifices for the greater good". i think he reveled in the fact that the “good guy” was willing to allow a few innocent people to die for the greater good to stop the games, which is exactly what the entire VIP theory is to rid the world of 'trash' to improve the world. notice how gi-hun's moral code and belief also changed, from being "nobody should die" into "yeah small sacrifice is okay as long it's for the greater good" at this point, he just proved that front man's belief is actually valid. AND he gets more of his own people killed in the pointless battle with the soldiers that they had no chance of winning. now he gets to feel responsible for all those deaths and the death of his friend and for whatever additional torture they cook up in the next games (as punishment for the escape attempt).
now on hwang in-ho, i believe he was once a good man and the story he told gi-hun was the truth. but in the end he lost a kidney, lost a wife, a baby, lost his money, got fucked over by the wrong people and got into serious debt and had to play this game to help his wife and probably it was too late to save her. he might have played the games like gi-hun but saw how ruthless and greedy people are and resolved that they don't deserve help
i don’t think in-ho wants/will kill gi-hun, but he wants him to understand things from his perspective and show him that his compassion for the people in the games is foolish. you can tell the frontmen (the old man and in-ho) are extremely fond of gi hun. not only did he protect their original front man when nobody else did, he then won the games and thus their respect as he is now as rich as them. he's no longer "trash", he’s an elite like them. i think they both actually kept tabs on him after he won (i wonder if they do that for all winners? inserting them with gps chips?) because they knew he had not used his reward money and in-ho wanted gi-hun to get on the plane and be happy with his daughter
there’s one interesting aspect of the games that makes front man such a complex character. the fact that they’re operating a organ transplant trafficking network. in a way, he’s creating some good to come from a really fucked up situation. but is it really for the good of others who desperately need it, people like his wife, like his brother? or is it just a money making scheme?
either way, i don’t think there is going to be a redemption arc for in-ho, he’s too far gone. we may get to see more of his human side if he manages to see jun-ho again. the only time we’ve seen genuine emotions from him was when he shot his brother like he seemed distraught
the real cliffhanger for me, is will gi-hun stay true to his belief that people can be good, or will he be forever changed into a villain and become the next front man…? after the events of this season i don’t see how his will doesn’t shatter. he’s witnessed how humanity consistently chose money over survival, he’s lost two close friends, his mother, abandoned his daughter. he has gained nothing from wanting to stop the games and this clearly feels like an origin story for the next front man. it’s clear the front man has won this round and i think squid game will either die with 001 or continue with gi-hun as game master
another thing i find funny that i don’t see many mention is how gi-hun is like the luckiest guy in the fucking world. but i don’t think him being alive this long is plot armor, it makes sense. the games exist for the entertainment of rich sadists who have so much money they don't know what to do with it (remember what old 001 said in s1 about life being no fun for both people with no money and people with too much money). and i’d imagine killing hundreds of poor debt-ridden fools year after year gets boring. especially when said fools are desperate enough to gamble with their lives because they think they can beat the system by playing better than everyone else and surviving and getting the money.
gihun is different because he got the money, got out, and still came back. not because he's unfeeling or because he wants more money, but because he's still convinced he can beat the system.
if you're a rich bored gazillionaire, would you rather watch some randos die or would you rather watch this exceptional idiot fail again and again until he learns that his ideals are meaningless and people are inherently greedy and equality is a myth and people at the bottom of the barrel don't get to question the system?
if you're an asshole gazillionaire, you don't want someone to challenge you and just get away with it. you want to hand them 45.6 billion won and make them go away quietly, traumatized, after breaking them psychologically by making them do horrible things until they understand they're just powerless "horses". if they insist on challenging you and your system and your beliefs (money = boundless power), you teach them a lesson and show them their place in the most manipulative and cruel way possible. if gihun dies right away, that's boring. so he can't die, he needs to suffer. he needs to concede defeat.
also, i find it funny how people are comparing hwang inho and gihun dynamic to hannibal and will graham. makes sense, their whole cat and mouse game, front man hiding his true nature from gi-hun the same way hannibal does, trying to corrupt the righteous protagonist, sowing chaos, testing him and observing his behavior like a lab rat, the crazy tension and staring contests, the gaslighting and manipulation. and with the fact that they think lee byung-hun looks like mads mikkelsen. i never put the two of them together but now i can’t unsee it lol

HWANG JUN-HO
⚝ This policeman couldn’t be more excited when he finds out you’re pregnant. Like his brother, he has always wanted to have a family, and maybe one or two children. So, when he hears the news, he couldn’t be happier!
⚝ Like Dae-ho, Jun-ho would be extremely prepared. He would but putting together the nursery at the end of your first trimester, and picking your future baby’s names at the beginning of the second. Jun-ho is very overly excited, but what new father wouldn’t be?
⚝ When your new baby is finally welcomed into the world, Jun-ho can’t help but hug you warmly, congratulating you and wiping the sweat from your forehead, telling you how well you did as you hold the little bundle of joy in your arms.
THE SALESMAN
⚝ Gong Yoo is definitely the most calm out of the three. Don’t get me wrong, he is happy and he does have a smile on his face. He will gently twirl you around your shared penthouse as he kisses you.
⚝ The salesman will wait until the second trimester to start getting things ready for your new addition to the family. He won’t let you lift a finger or go out in public by yourself, in fear that his enemies (Gi-hun) might harm you.
⚝ Gong Yoo smiles calmly as he holds his newborn son for the first time in his arms, only minutes after the birth. He couldn’t be more proud of you, or feel more pride at the little bundle of joy calmly sleeping in his warm arms.
SEONG GI-HUN
⚝ Gi-hun is scared, terrified even. The last time he was married with a child, it ended with a divorce and his daughter was taken overseas. Gi-hun knows he should’ve been a better father, and his mistakes still haunt him to this day.
⚝ Yet, for some reason, when Gi-hun hears the news, he is so excited. Like a little cinnamon bun. His childlike joy shines through all the hardships and traumas of the games. So, Gi-hun does everything in his power to make sure you’re comfortable.
⚝ When you hand your infant into his arms for the first time, he can’t help the large, beaming smile that bursts onto his face as your little baby grabs onto one of his fingers with its small fist. He couldn’t have felt anything but love and adoration in that moment.

Memoir
Oneshot
Featuring : Hwang In-ho x F!Reader.
Summary : A plot explaining how he became so ruthless and cunning after the devastating lose of you, his beloved wife.
The characters do not belong to me except the reader. This is an original plot idea do not steal or modify the scenario created down below.
Masterlist.
---
The hospital room was quiet except for the steady beeping of the monitors. You lay on the bed, your hand resting on your swollen belly, your pale face still managing a weak smile as In-ho sat beside you, holding your other hand tightly. His police uniform was rumpled, a sign of the long shifts he'd been pulling, but his eyes were solely focused on you.
"You need to rest, In-ho," you murmured, your voice weak but full of love. "The baby and I… we’re fine as long as you're here."
In-ho’s grip tightened slightly. His jaw clenched as he fought back tears. "I can't lose you, jagiya. I won't."
You knew the medical bills were piling up. The doctors had been clear—your condition was critical, and the liver transplant you needed was expensive. In-ho had already donated a kidney to his younger brother, Jun-ho, years ago. He had always been a man of sacrifice, but now, the burden was crushing him.
"In-ho, don’t do anything reckless," you warned softly, as if sensing the turmoil brewing inside him.
He didn’t respond, just kissed your hand and whispered, "I’ll do whatever it takes to keep you and our baby safe."
---
A week later, In-ho returned home late, his hands trembling as he placed a stack of cash on the table. The air between you both grew heavy as you stared at the money.
"Where did you get this?" you asked, your voice trembling.
"I borrowed it," he replied, avoiding your gaze. "From someone who could help us."
The truth was far darker. The money came from a criminal syndicate, and the interest was insurmountable. When the police discovered his actions, In-ho’s reputation, built on years of unwavering duty, was shattered. He was dismissed, humiliated, and left with nothing but his love for you and the debt hanging over his head.
---
Months later, your condition worsened. Despite In-ho’s best efforts, the treatment wasn’t enough. He sat by your bedside, tears streaming down his face as he held your hand.
"I’m sorry," he choked out. "I failed you."
You smiled faintly, brushing a hand against his cheek. "You gave me everything, In-ho. I love you… always."
You passed away that night, the baby you both had dreamed of never taking their first breath.
---
Devastated and desperate, In-ho received an invitation to the Squid Game. The prize money was enough to cover all his debts and give him a fresh start, though the cost was unthinkable. With nothing left to lose, he joined the deadly competition.
Player 132 fought with the ferocity of a man with nothing to live for. He survived each game, but with every life he took or saw taken, a piece of his soul withered away. By the end, when he stood as the winner with the prize in his hands, the victory was hollow. He had the money, but it was too late to save the family he had fought so hard for.
---
In-ho returned to an empty home, haunted by the echoes of your laughter and the dreams you once shared. It was then that he received an offer from Oh Il-nam to become the Front Man. Bitter, broken, and disillusioned with the world, In-ho accepted.
Every year, as he oversaw the games, he thought of you. He wore the mask not just to hide his identity but to shield himself from the unbearable pain of who he used to be. Behind the cold and calculating demeanor of the Front Man was a man who had lost everything—his love, his child, and his sense of justice—all for a price he could never truly pay.

Their nickname for you | Various Squid game x Fem!Reader |
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/f00ddbac3d98a7da5f646a528e75db7b/a11c3f8a3bacee1b-12/s540x810/89bb311174a4a96ca7150b308bc4175a28cb0500.jpg)
Warnings/Notes: SFW - Soft!moments - Mentions of characters that I dont write for - Grammar mistakes -
♡ Gi-hun: He calls you his sweetheart or prize. He loves how soft you are with him. How careful you are when he is around. How you hold him and laught with him. After the games he still calls you that and its even more grateful for have you by his side.
♡ Sang-woo: Darling. He has never been too deep on feelings, mostly cold heart. It crumbles down when he meets you and you make space for yourself in your heart. He ends calling you Darling because it feels right.
♡ Jun-ho: Babe/Baby. He cant help but see you as his favorite person (aside from his brother). He feels like its his duty to protect you and so the nickname. He also likes how you blush when he calls you that, specially in front of others.
♡ In-ho: Treasure/Dear. There is not special way he can say this: you are his favorite thing and the only one who truly matters to him. He finds you being his Treasure his most dear person and he one who loves truly and the most. Its a protective Man towards you and no one dares to try and get on your bad side. Because he is like a shadow always knowing when someone misstreat you.
♡ The Salesman: Love. The feeling of love itself may be a strange one to him. But you are the only one that makes him feel something so different, its so strange to him that the first time he could not sleep and thought he was sick. But after accepting it he knows this is your nickname for you. Love its what you are to him, its peculiar and special for him. Just like you.
♡ The Officer: Beloved. He knows he is a terrible Man and does not deserve love at all. Thats why his nickname for you its "Beloved" after a day of work he wants nothing but to hold you and call you that.
♡ Guard 011: She calls you "Ladybug" because she believes you give her good luck and streght. When she is away from you at the island its the idea of her daughter and you that keeps her going.
♡ Gyeon-seok: Wife. The first time it happened he wanted to die because you two were just dating. But honestly? He just sees you as his wife. Its alright if you dont want to marry him. Or if you dont like to be called that because you feel pressure when he does. Then he will call you "Lovely" because to him you are that and more.
~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~
PLEASE DONT REQUEST FOR THIS TWO CHARACTERS I WRITE FOR THEM WHEN I FEEL LIKE IT.
☆ Min-su: Sunshine. Listen, this boy its so insecure of himself that he is not even sure how you accepted dating him. Its clear that he suffers from low self steam and probably does not love himself a lot. So you are his Sunshine. You are there to help him when he feels bad and you are there to give him encouraging words too. Its sweet to see and the first time he tells you you are his Sunshine he is blushing hard.
☆ Thanos: Flower. Yes we all saw it coming but to him its a classic. Besides your name he uses this nickname to make you love songs that shows how truly deep he has fall for you.

Hwang In-ho (Front man) x fem reader niece
It was almost midnight and the rain had just begun to fall on the street when a knock on the Hwang couple's door interrupted their peace.
In-ho walked to the door and opened it to find his eighteen-year-old brother, sweating and holding his seven-month-old baby.
—She has a temperature and I don't know what to do —Jun-ho said, panting from exhaustion and stress.
—Give it to me —he said calmly, taking his niece in his arms.
He then invited Jun-ho into his house, it was not the first time his brother had come at unwise hours to ask him and his wife for help.
But he was always willing to help him, he knew he was young to do this task on his own after his sister-in-law ran away leaving him with the burden of a daughter.
—You like to upset your father —In-ho said with slight mockery, leaving the baby in his wife's arms, she was also willing to help.
—I'm flattered that you consider us more trustworthy than a doctor —The woman smiled warmly at the infant as she rocked her to sleep and walked to his room for some medication.
[...]
The night breeze hit your face, the sweater you were wearing was a great help but your school skirt left your legs exposed to the cold.
Once again your cell phone vibrated in your pocket, you took it out and saw the photo of your father, you turned it off and looked up again at surroundings.
It was almost one in the morning, Jun-ho was desperate to locate you, you had not returned home after school and that alarmed him, however, his boss was not willing to help him in your search because it was not the first time you escaped.
But it would be the first time that you would not return for a long time.
You loved your father but after the disappearance of your uncle In-ho and the death of your aunt it affected your family so much that Jun-ho immersed himself in his work and you in your unstoppable search for In-ho.
You were outraged by the fact that Jun-ho didn't talk about the subject with you, you thought he didn't care but you were wrong, he, like you, also tried hard to find him.
But when he didn't get anywhere he decided to focus on you, In-ho wanted that but he didn't count on you being so focused on finding him.
You didn't have any friends, missed a lot of classes, spent most of the day on the street and you had gadgets that a girl your age shouldn't have access to.
It was surprising and he even felt proud but you were taking it too far.
Now you wait for a limousine to pass by you while look at the curious card with three figures in your hands.
You weren't planning on entering those damn games, you wanted to infiltrate, you suspected that In-ho was related to this after finding a similar card in his apartment.
It was difficult but after dedicating a whole year to this you were finally close, you felt it, the salesman even talked to you out of simple curiosity, the man found it intriguing and curious how a girl of your age managed to find his organization in such a short time.
As you got into the vehicle that was driven by people dressed in pink and wearing masks with circles, you held your breath as much as could so that you wouldn't be knocked out by the smoke they released with you and the other people inside.
You were smart and agile, infiltrating as just another soldier was an easy task, now you just had to find out everything you could about these games.
You mentally thanked your father for teaching you how to use weapons and fight to defend yourself, if not you would surely be dead already.
You had found out many things, including that In-ho participated in these games and won, but if they had given him all that money ¿Where was he now?
You took photos and videos of everything but now you were running for your life on the island with those soldiers and the front man following you, you were wet from trying to swim away, how stupid, you were far from civilization, your breathing was labored and were trying to find some signal to send all that evidence to your father.
—Damn shitty cell phone —You grumbled when you didn't get a single bar, you'd be lying if said you weren't distressed, of course you were, you didn't want to die.
When you heard a shot near where you were, yoy kept running to try to hide, but it was impossible and reached the edge of a cliff.
You looked down, there were only rocks and the tide.
You kept your gun in left hand and turned around pointing it forward when you heard those masked men approaching you.
—Don't come closer, I already sent all the evidence to the police station — You threatened with lies, raising the cell phone and showing them some photos.
—The signal here is poor —said the masked man dressed in black and gray —And your battery died.
You cursed under breath as you saw that it was true, your cell phone was now dead.
The front man took a step closer to and you pointed the gun in your shaking hand at him.
—One more step and I'll kill you —You threatened again even though you still weren't able to kill a fly and he knew it.
—I can tell from your posture and the sweat on your hands that you've never shot a person before.
Hearing you cut the cartridge In-ho stopped, maybe you were able to shoot, you were scared and obviously were going to defend yourself.
When he called your name you paled and took a small step back.
—¿How do you know who I am?
Front man didn't answer anything, he just slowly raised his hands towards his head so you wouldn't feel threatened, he lowered his hood and finally took off his mask.
Your eyes widened in disbelief and your hands hesitated for a few seconds but you maintained your stance with the gun facing him.
—You....
In-ho was standing in front of you, with an expressionless face and the coldest eyes you had ever seen in him, you wanted to scream in helplessness.
You had so many questions, you were overwhelmed and the worst thing was that you didn't know what to do, you couldn't shoot him, you didn't want to, but he was the leader of all this, you saw so many people die in so few days and knowing that he was behind it all made your heart break.
You admired him, he and your aunt had been with you for as long as could remember so they had become your inspiration, you wanted to be like him.
Now you just needed a hug from your father.
In-ho remained silent, he didn't want to overwhelm you more than you already were, he just extended a hand towards you for you to take, you were very close to the shore and it gave him goosebumps.
—Put down the gun —He said calmly and staring at you.
You hesitated for a few moments, not knowing what decision to make and the tears in your eyes threatened to overflow.
In-ho really wanted you to hold his hand, otherwise he would have to kill you and he didn't want it to end like this.
—Please put it down —He repeated.
You finally made a decision.
You slowly lowered the gun and took a few steps forward to take him hand.
As soon as he had you close he hugged you affectionately, deep down he was amazed by everything you did for him, it was nice to know that there was still someone in his family who was willing to go this far for him.
—I missed you so much... —You whispered through tears, hugging him tightly as well.
—I know, I know... it's okay
He let you vent, you were still wondering if this was for the best, you had been missing for six days, you were sure your father was losing his mind.
But In-ho was very important to you, he and your aunt had heard your first word, your first steps and you perfectly remember that father-daughter school dance that Jun-ho couldn't go to because he would be presenting a project at his academy, In-ho went with you to that dance.
—You'll be fine... —In-ho whispered to you as they walked away from the edge of that cliff.
[...]
It had been three years since you disappeared and people were judging Jun-ho regarding his sanity.
—¿Are you sure you don't want to return to your post? You were the best here and...
He interrupted his boss by getting up from the chair in front of his desk.
—You didn't help me when I told you that my daughter was lost, you thought it was just another insignificant action of hers.
He was hurt, he still had hopes of finding you and In-ho again now that he had found all the information you gathered under your bed but he couldn't afford to trust his police unit again.
Not wanting to continue talking to his ex-boss, he left there. There wasn't a day that he didn't look for you, you were his only daughter and even though most people told him that you were already dead, he refused.
Even when they found your school backpack with all your things inside on the riverbank, he had a feeling that you were still alive and not underwater like most people told him.
Not knowing if you were okay, if you were eating, if you were happy, sad or scared was killing him every minute.
His only chance now was Seong Gi-hun.
Jun-ho would find you, you and an in-ho.

hihi!! i wanna ask for a list of dramas with a lead whos cold, mysterious, haunted by a troubled past, secretive, prolly has a vocabulary of like 10 words. but is super soft on the inside, like they push ppl away cus theyre afraid of hurting them or being abandoned or smthn like that. ik this is hyper specific so sryyy if its hard to answer, but all my fave characters fit this bill so wanted to kno if u have any kdrama that can give me this high (。•̀ᴗ-)✧ thxxx!! ♡
p.s. it doesnt have to b exxxactly this but if it fits a few of the categories, ill be happi! ♡♡
We LOVE mysterious haunted trauma babies over here so thank you for this ask. (also this might be one of my favorite lists ever??)
K-Dramas leads with cold personalities/mysterious past, secretive trauma pups...morally grey a plus
The Smile has left your eyes - Kim Moo-Young Aside from this k-drama being a masterpiece that’ll leave you a pile of tears, Seo in Guk as Kim Moo-Young is the perfect example of a morally grey character you will fall in love with. He’s involved in a murder plot line, uses women to get what he wants and is clearly hiding something. You’ll try to resist being interested in him sure, but you’ll fail.
Beyond Evil - both leads This is a passionate unrequited romance crime drama about two detectives that are paired up to solve a crime in a small town. Everyone is really messed up and that's what makes this drama super good! Scary, haunted and super well written.
Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938 - Lee Rang Lee Rang is one of my favorite trauma pup blorbo from my shows! This drama is the second season of the fantasy drama Tale of the Nine Tailed. I recommend you watch both but season two was my favorite because it focused on Lee Rang. You will LOVE HIM! MUST PROTEC.
Alice The Final Weapon - Gyeo Wool Finally a GIRL with a traumatic past and the boy who loves her!! Actually everyone in this drama is messed up and dealing with horrific things. It's a very short and creative little drama and despite the gore, I really fell for the mains! They are blorbo from my shows!
See You In My 19th Life (both leads) This drama featuring a woman who can remember her past lives was one of my favorites this year! Both leads are tackling the trauma of the FL's death and there is a lot of healing that has to happen. Shin Hye Sun is a goddess!
The Eighth Sense - Jae Won A queer kdrama about two leads that meet surfing and fall in love. This drama is my favorite "bl" k-drama ever and the lead definitely has a traumatic past he's in therapy for. I highly recommend this one!
Flower of Evil - Hyun Soo: A psychological thriller centered around a jewelry maker who is running from his past, and his cop wife (power couple alert!) who doesn’t know his original identity. The chemistry of the couple is amazing and all of the characters are nuanced and interesting. I was on the edge of my seat, AND sobbing! Also, I finally understand Lee Jun Ki stans, he was SO GOOD in this! A total trauma pup you won't believe it.
Doom at Your Service: Doom A girl is diagnosed with cancer and a morally grey god grants her wish to live 100 more days the way she wants to live. While I didn't LOVE this drama, the romance is amazing - that KISS! Doom is the perfect damaged god with a chip on his shoulder.
Hello Monster - Lee Hyun and His Brother Jung Sun-Ho Featuring two brothers who have a murderous backstory, both are morally grey. Sure one is definitely “worse” than the other when it comes to being a murder baby but let’s face it - they both have their problems (sorry, didn’t want to post any spoilers so that’s all I can say about that!)
The Crowned Clown: Ha-seon The King The contrast between the good guy and the bad guy in this historical drama are so interesting to watch because one brilliant actor (Yeo Jin Goo) plays the same character. The king is insane and a murderer. He’s terrible in every way with literally no way to be redeemed but you’ll still feel for him…just watch.
My Liberation Notes - Mr. Gu This slice of life takes place mostly in a small town where siblings who really don't want to be there, live. Mr. Gu is renting one of the buildings and he's extremely burdened and and keeps to himself. I personally didn't ship him with the lead but he's definitely the type you're asking for!
Scarlet Heart Ryeo: Wang Soo Scarlet heart will destroy you, but you’ll also find yourself deeply empathetic to (and totally in love with) the most toxic of princes: Wang Soo. Cast out by his relatives, and treated like an animal he’s deeply wounded and despite knowing in your heart that he’s done terrible things, you’ll find yourself making excuses for him and imagining him as your boyfriend (wait…can you ignore that last sentence?)
Summer Strike - Both leads This slice of life has a quiet and thoughtful male lead who is traumatized by the murder of his sibling. I was a little disappointed in the ending but overall the show's mains were so soft and lovely.
Just Between Lovers - Both leads but. Kang Doo! I'm sure you knew I'd put this on the list but kang doo is my favorite trauma baby of all time. Slice of Life romance between poor pups just trying to live! The OTP is one of my favorite couples EVER and even as the years go on, very few couples have matched their love in my opinion. There’s a lot of comfort/healing themes with for me is just *chef’s kiss.* Lee Junho became my bias wrecker because of that drama.
Psycho But It’s Okay - Everyone A gorgeous k-drama using fairytale narrations as a backdrop, features two brothers who lost their mother, and a beautiful & famous author who grew up in a traumatic and abusive household. Everyone is very closed off and holding onto intense pain, but the three come together to help one another move on and find happiness. Gorgeous angsty and melodramatic romance.
Thirty But Seventeen - Woo Jin Precious puppies with past trauma! The main has basically stopped living his life because of his past. Don’t be turned off by the shows description as it turned out to be one of the best surprises of 2018 for me. The leads are lovely and everyone relies and supports one another - it’s so sweet.
Come and Hug Me - Do Jin This thriller is not for the faint of heart but the main theme is healing. Two friends are torn apart when the boy’s dad kills the girls entire family. Later in life, they find one another and walk on the path to healing while still being tormented by their past. It also focuses on the trauma and manipulation the killer has on the whole family, making the show beautiful, terrifying and heartbreaking at the same time.
Goblin: Grim Reaper Most of you have watched this drama but I’ll try hard not to spoil it. The Grim Reaper is such a hilarious character in the current time line but in order to be a Grim Reaper, you have to have done something “bad” to become one. His pain is deep and cutting and you’ll want to protect him.
It’s Okay that’s love: Jang Jae-yeol This is one of those cold male leads that you’ll just end up liking even though he’s kinda the worst in that “Pickup Artist” type of way? I had this show listed in my top 10 but then I recently watched it again and realized I’ve made progress in my “don’t like jerks who display jerk behavior” because he’s kinda an ass. You’ll soften for him when the plot moves along for sure, but he’s aggressive and says really sexist things sometimes (as does most of the male characters honestly - i really need to remove this from my top 10)…
Enjoy!
#kdrama recommendations#kdrama#kdrama recs#beyond evil#tale of the nine tailed 1938#flower of evil#doom at your service#morally grey characters#i love a list#i think my favorite characters are this too!#it helps if they have a side of soft tho

what remains. | Hwang brothers
next part | masterlist
Part 1: In-ho meeting his baby brother
He banished the voice of his mother, biting his own lip to keep the traitorous words inside his mind, he didn’t want to repeat those words. The baby was not at fault for his parents’ issues. It was wrong for his mother to blame an innocent child.
He let the strap of his bag slip from his shoulder, slowly placing the bag down on the floor, before he dared taking a step into the room.

A/N: I decided to post the scenes again separately for whatever reason. I intend to dive into their relationship and write a lot more little scenes and scenarios of Jun-ho growing up, and it's easier to organize the scenes chronologically by posting them separately.

extraordinary attorney woo eps 15-16
I definitely felt the show went off the rails a bit in the second half -- the episodes in Jeju felt totally unnecessary -- but the finale was so satisfying. I felt they wrapped up key plotlines in a really rewarding way, but the storylines weren't developed as well as they should have been, which meant that in order to enjoy the ending fully you had to sort of pretend there had been more development of certain arcs or relationships than there was.
Much as I love Jung Myeong-seok, I do think the whole story of him being ill and his ex-wife blah blah blah used up time they could've deployed better focusing on Young-woo. That said, I loved his scene with Young-woo in ep 16, where he tells her she's no ordinary attorney and he's interested to see what she decides. That's one relationship they have developed really well and effectively -- you believe in her faith in him, and how well he understands her, because you've seen how their working relationship has developed in the course of the series. Receiving that kind of professional validation from a senior lawyer you respect is one of the best feelings in the WORLD, I loved watching it happen for Young-woo.
Other favourite scenes: Young-woo meeting her brother and all the little parallels between them (!!), the confrontation with Tae Su-mi (!!! incredible, incredibly moving), the blissful bit at the end where she tells her dad her contract's been renewed. I have missed her dad's frowny baffled face!
Oh, and I know Kwon Min-woo's redemption has not really been earned -- this is one of the things that they should have spent more time on in the second half of the series -- but nevertheless I unashamedly loved him telling Tae Su-mi he is going to be a fool from now on. Props to the actor: it needed someone exactly as charming as he is to sell this insufficiently developed transformation. I have always thought and still think that he looks like a sulky good-looking 12-year-old schoolboy, but that vibe totally works for the character.
There's just something about the way Choi Su-yeon demands that Min-woo be a better person and hold himself to higher standards than those set by self-interest, and how Young-woo does the same to her mother. The fearless idealism of it! I love it.
I also enjoyed Young-woo's reconciliation with Jun-ho, especially the part where she tells him cats love their owners, but even MORE I loved the part where she went through the revolving doors on her own. Our baby girl!!!
One thing I was hoping for was that we'd see more and different sorts of autistic characters -- I was particularly hoping for express confirmation that Tae Su-mi herself is autistic. The parallels between Young-woo and her brother seemed to strongly hint at something like that, though, so I guess it's not out of the question they might explore it in future, since the series is continuing.
I don't know if season 2 will be any good; the faltering in eps 13-14 made me dubious, and I'm also worried the writer's possibly said what she wanted to say about Young-woo. But I'll most likely check it out, when before ep 16 I was really not sure I would.
One question remains, though. How does Hairy Boss's establishment survive if Young-woo is his only customer????? Is it a money laundering front or something? Is the restaurant located in a pocket dimension where restaurants don't need to be profitable in order to survive? This needs to be addressed in season 2.

Better Together - Part 1
Jun-Ho arrived home late. He always did, but tonight was different, after days looking for his brother he finally had a lead. A billion questions ran through his mind while he took off his shoes and coat. He moved to sit on the couch while looking at that weird card, thinking of that man and the possibility of all being true.
-Hey there, stranger. – You said, sleep in your eyes as you were woken up by the door.
-Hey, baby. – Jun smiled at you, it was clear as day that you were exhausted, he felt a little bad for waking you up but was happy that you were there.
You turned on the lights, walking to sit on the couch, legs stretched out on your boyfriend’s lap. As you made yourself comfortable you heard him scoff.
-Why do you still wear that? – mentioning to your oversized shirt.
-Because I love Jimin, that’s why. – you had a lazy smirk on your face, thinking of the day you got that ridiculous shirt.
-Juuuuuun, I’m home. – you declared while holding your jacket closed as you moved to the living room, where your boyfriend was watching tv.
-Hey, how was your day out? – he asked, motioning for you to sit on his lap.
-It was good. But I have a surprise! – you had that look on your face he loved so much, the one which you had when you were about to prank him or tell a bad joke.
-Does it have anything to do with the fact that you’re still with your jacket on? – he asked, looking at you with his detective look.
-Yes! Ta-dam! – you said as you opened your jacket, showing him the photoshoped picture of you and Jimin kissing you had printed on a giant white shirt.
-No. You are not wearing that. – he said while trying to get the shirt off.
-Why not? I love him! – you exclaimed, trying to keep the shirt on.
-Because I don’t want to see anyone else touching my girl, besides you have me. – now he was just tickling you, trying to get your hands away.
-But you don’t even kiss me as I get home! – you were laughing now.
Your boyfriend stopped, with a look of fake hurt. One that he knew you’d always fall for, your caring nature never lying, one of the many reasons he fell for you.
-No baby, it was just a joke, it’s okay. – you said, looking at him now with no smile, just him sitting on the couch.
In just one second he grabbed you by the hips, making you sit on his lap facing him.
-It’s ok, because I’m the only one who can do this. - he said while actually kissing you.
The shirt after that was never touched again, sitting in a drawer. You put it on today just for the joke, hoping Jun would get home earlier.
-What’s that? – you asked while picking the card from his hand. – A phone number?
-It’s a lead on In-Ho. – he answered, sighing heavily.
-Where did you get this? – looking at him, waiting for him to explain.
In one rushed monologue he told you everything, from In-ho to the weird man called Gi-Hun, to all the game. Thinking of it, you hugged your legs close to your chest, resting your head on your knees.
-It can’t be true, Jun. Even if it was, then the guy would have to go back to the game, right? If everyone had such life-ending debts, then many people would agree to participate for money, hope is naturally human. But how would they get people willing to obey every command? If it’s real then there has to be a leader, if not this whole thing could go wrong. Also, they wouldn’t be able to get away with so many missing people. – you stated.
After years in the police it was easy for you to understand how criminal organizations worked. You were a profiler, not one to get in the middle of action, preferring to use your brains. You could go and get inside an investigation but with no muscle built and being a woman, the other officers didn’t like the idea, besides you never liked violence.
The only one who treated you like an equal was Jun-Ho, something you appreciated. And after so long with flirty conversations, Jun-Ho asked you on a date and everything escalated from that.
-I know, but I have to be sure, if my brother is in there…- he didn’t need to finish, you knew how important his brother was to him.
-Go take a shower and sleep, when you wake up we’ll discuss what to do. – he hummed in response, getting up and heading to the bathroom. When you heard the water running, you picked your phone up, dialing the number written on the card, your thumb hovering over the call button. After much deliberation in your head, you thought of In-Ho, of Jun, you knew that he’d go no matter what and you couldn’t let him go alone, so you pressed the button.
The voice was strange, robotic with no emotion as it asked for your information. You gave it and hung up, letting go of a breath you didn’t know you were holding.
-What did you just do? – Jun asked, now with a towel around his hip and his hair wet.
-I got in, so we can both search for your brother. – you said, not looking at him.
-And what if all of it is true? What if you play the game and get hurt? Or killed? I can’t help you in there! – he exclaimed, nervous.
-It’s for the best, I go in as a player and you find another way in, that way both of us can search in different places. – you looked up and could see that he knew you were right, it was logical, but he couldn’t help but think of you hurt. – I’m going to be fine, Jun, if we work as a team, we can pull it off. If Gi-Hun was telling the truth then when they come to pick me up you can get in the car or follow it somehow.
He went to the bedroom and after ten or fifteen minutes you followed suit. He laid on the bed, back to you and you did the same. A little after you felt his arms around you, holding you close to his chest, he kissed your shoulder and whispered – I love you, we are going to finish this.
You smiled as you put your hand over his, closing your eyes to drift off to sleep.

WTH? Vincenzo Ep 7 & 8
I have thoughts, just thoughts, just so many thoughts about Vincenzo.... dear God!!!
I knew what I was getting into, when within 15 minutes of the first episode we got a demolition of building, arson of the whole vineyard and blasting of a expensive car. But the show actually peaked in its runtime of 3rd to 6th episodes. Where it was a perfect mixer of campy, over the top comedy, character development, story progression, twist, the last minute revelations, relationship between characters, etc.. It was just perfect synergy! And I was hyped as fuck for episode 7 and 8. But, it was a big disappointment for me!
*Sigh* I mean where to begin? The fact the our female lead essentially spend the whole 7th episode locked up in jail. And our “hero” has to rescue her, for the second time, mind you! And as a result she owe him one now. Vincenzo explicitly says so in the episode as well. Well, the lack of Hong Cha-young was not first time, something like this did happened in first episode where Cha-young wasn’t much there in episode. But than it was understandable because we were setting up a story. A Story of our titular character, Vincenzo! So, of course, Vincenzo was the one with most screen time. and so does the people who were direct contact with him. So, now, when Cha-young is the more closer to him. It makes sense to have her 2nd most screen time. But here we are, where side characters of the plaza had more screen time and as a result more characterization.
Initially, I loved Cha-young because she was just like Vincenzo, a grey character. She is corrupt, She values money, a realist!. So, at the end of the episode 8, when she does declares her plan, I find it bit ironic that she wants to expose Wusang’s corruptions. When in the timeline of the show, Cha-young must be the one, who has contributed to that said corruption the most! Considering she was the best one Wusang had. Not only that but writer took away her agency from her in this 2 episodes. From the first episode, we know that Cha-young is competent lawyer. And in previous episodes she has been active part of the Vincenzo’s shenanigans. But in 7th episodes, she is locked up. and in 8th episode, she is doormat, behind our hero not beside him. And that brother me! Because Cha-young has potential to be really different (K-Drama) female lead.
Speaking of 8th Episode, what the actual fuck? I can’t seems to believe a murder, Vincenzo has more higher ground than an oppressed gay character, who has mommy issues and violent tendencies. There was so much wrong with the portray of that character. Add to that, I find it more vile the way Vincenzo and team treated him in the end. There was no need to humiliated that CEO. Vincenzo and team already had enough evidence to go by. On the good note, I kind of like Tea-ho and CEO Min- seong date. It was quite adorable!
There was another thing that bothered me. Vincenzo’s reaction to Cha-young’s suggestion of pretending to be gay. So, when Vincenzo was all acting out I thought he is doing that cause he has some information that we are not privy to. Something like, maybe, I don’t know, the CEO Min-seoung and Vincenzo having same father. And Vincenzo knows that information and we don’t know, that is why he is so oppose to it. (And come to think about, it would have been nice parallel to our villain(s) who are also half brothers.) But the way Vincenzo and team deals with CEO Min-seoung in the end, I know that this is not true. Vincenzo is actually troubled by the thought of pretending to be gay person. So, when after few scenes later, when Vincenzo is sitting in stable contemplating his decision, it does come across as bit homophobic.
I know, K dramas are trying to appeal to wider audience, and I, a international fan appreciate the efforts. And As a result we did got shows like “Its okay, to not be okay”, “Start-up”, “Hotel Del Luna”, they have few flaws here and there but its baby steps this industry is taking. So I understand if they have few hiccups. But in this insistence these efforts are doing more harm than healing. In this particular case, where a gay character is running a company. but also mentioned as having “multiple flaws” referring his sexual orientation by another character in the same show is bit more than a few hiccups here and there. Which also does not help by the fact that in the end, he is being humiliated by the Characters who have done far worst things than he has. This show perpetuate the harmful gay stereotype in media.
For good Gay or LBGTQ+ community representation in K Drama, go watch “Be Melodramatic”, our female lead Cha-young, played by Jong Yeo-been. And in the show its her brother that shown to be a gay character with healthy life. Where he also gets mistreated and in the end has a satisfying ending.
On the third issue that I have is, that there was no interaction between Jung Jun-woo, Vincenzo and Cha-young. I keep going back to the Spice tolerance taste scene. Where we got see different dynamics between these characters. I thought this is just a glimpse of what was coming. Also the actors really did bounce off of each other really good. So, naturally I was disappointed when we did not got any of that sweet & spicy triangle.
ON THE SIDE NOTE, why the fuck all plaza members shows up in the Vincenzo and Cha-young’s business? As if they don’t have their own thing going on. Its jarring, especially, now that they know about the gold.
P.S. Ignore if you find any grammatic errors, English is my third language. Unless you point out politely it is always appreciated.

7. The first time (m)
"Okay, unfortunately the twins always eat when they want and sometimes at night too. And Sunoh sometimes cries ..." "OKAY STOP!" Mia sighed and put down all the bags. "It's not the first time I've taken care of the children." Mia rolled her eyes and picked up Kiwoo. "Yeah I know, but are you sure you want to take care of all of them here. So are the others okay with that?" You look around "The boys are all good friends with Jaehyun. Winwin is one of his best friends. They love the kids and the kids love them. Relax at home. Live it up. Nobody wants to catch you having sex again." Mia winked and you blushed. "Okay okay. Have fun then. Johanna is waiting for me anyway." You now put Geon in your sister's arms and she smiled. "Oh, are you still seeing Johanna? Is she okay?" Mia asks and you nod. "Yes, everything's fine. It's getting better every day. But she urgently needs to get something, so I'll go shopping with her until Jaehyun is home." "Then give her my regards and have a nice weekend with Jaehyun." Mia grinned and you had to laugh. You then kiss your children and quickly get out of the apartment. But as soon as you were out of the building, Sunoh looked at the door. "Mummyyyyy ..." He started crying and then ran to the entrance. "You are with me and Xiao Jun and all your other uncles today," Mia said and Sunoh looked at her very calmly for a moment, but then he looked back at the door and realized that you were not coming back. "Mummyyyyyy ..." He kept crying and he could hardly breathe because of it. "He always does that. Even when he's alone with Daddy," said Miga and sighed. "Since when? We always spent so much time together", Mia said and doesn't know what to do anymore. Miga just shrugged her shoulders and Mia realized that she hadn't been there for a long time. "What does your Daddy do then?" She asks desperately and Miga grinned. "Daddy puts him in front of the TV, but we can't tell Mummy." Mia knew that you didn't want the children to sit in front of the TV all the time, but she didn't know what to do now either. Sunoh was still sitting in front of the door crying. Louis looked at him desperately. Mia couldn't help it. She turned on the television, turned on a children's program and sat Sunoh in front of it. He immediately became calm and with his wet eyes he stared into the screen. "Wow. It worked," she said and Miga nodded. "Yes, I told you." The girl grinned and watched with her brother. But no sooner had Sunoh calmed down than Kiwoo began to cry. Mia immediately ran to him and picked him up. He didn't stink yet, so he must be hungry. She was looking for his milk immediately when the door opened. At that moment Sunoh ran back, hoping that you would come back. But it was Lucas who opened the door. Sunoh looked at him disappointed and started crying again. Lucas was very surprised and at first he didn't know what to say. "Sorry, I thought it would be easier," Mia said, looking guilty at him. "No problem." Lucas laughed and crouched down next to the boy. "Hey big guy! Shall we play something?" He asked and Sunoh suddenly became very calm and he nodded. "Up with you." At that moment Lucas picked him up and spun him around. Sunoh started giggling, and he was having a blast. After he put Sunoh back on the couch, he stroked his head. "Again!" Sunoh giggled and looked up at Lucas. "Give me a break, big guy. I'll be back later, okay?" He grinned and Sunoh nodded immediately. The boy sat down in front of the television again and was quite satisfied. "Wow you are good with him," Mia said and smiled. "I have a little brother and I think I'm good with kids." Lucas sat down with her and helped her with the twins. "Hmm ... I’m different than my sisters, I’m not good with kids..." She looked at the twins and sighed. It was quiet for a moment between the two of them because Lucas didn't quite understand. "What do you mean? You took care of them for a while." "Yeah, I thought it was easy. Sunoh keeps crying after Y/N and it got harder with the twins. I don't understand how my sister manages it all like that." "When do you tell her you're going to move out and that you dropped out of university?" Mia has spoken a lot about it with a few of the guys, but she hasn't been able to tell you yet. "I bet she'll be angry that I'll not longer study. I don't know how to tell her." Mia sighed and strokes the cheek of Kiwoo, who happily suckled on the bottle. "Because her and Jaehyun pay for it?" Asked Lucas. "No. Education is important to her. She always says that I should never become dependent on someone. But look at her. She has four children with a man. Doesn't that make her dependent on a man?" "Well, she sure meant financially." "If I continue modeling, I'll have enough money. Besides, I already make money from my looks." Mia sighed and now put Kiwoo in Luca's arms so she could feed Geon some porridge. "You look really good, I'm sure you're doing the right thing." Lucas looked deep into her eyes and Mia felt the tension again between the two. "Thank you," she says softly and her gaze stayed in Luca's dark eyes. She took a deep breath when they both heard Kiwoo making his burp on Lucas shirt. "Oh no," Mia said and saw Kiwoo spread his puke on his shirt. "Okay, no problem. I'll just take it off." Lucas put Kiwoo back down and immediately undressed. He put his shirt on the couch and then took Kiwoo back in his arms. Mia was frozen and looking at his abs. But at that moment the door opens and Xiao Jun came into the apartment with Ten. "What did I miss?" Ten asked with a fat grin when he saw Mia with a topless Lucas. Xiao Jun didn't look very happy either. "Kiwoo made his burp on me. I guess it brings luck." Lucas grinned and looked at the baby. Ten raised an eyebrow and Xiao Jun only nodded skeptically.
The children had settled in well by now. Ten was really good with Miga because she was very interested in his clothes. "And that's Gucci," he said, showing her his newest jacket. "Gucci? That's nice!" Miga grinned and her eyes become big. "And this Dolce & Gabbana." He showed her the next item in his closet. "Wow!" Miga was blown away and she tried to remember all the designer names. "And this?" She ran to a black leather bag. "Yves Saint Laurent," Ten said then. "Ik salad auren?" Miga had difficulty saying that. "No, Yves." "Yves," Miga repeated. "Saint." "Saint," said Miga again. "Laurant," Ten spoke very slowly. "Laurant", Miga repeated and grinned. In the meantime, Hendery joined them and saw Ten practicing the pronunciation of Yves Saint Laurent with Miga. He raised an eyebrow and looked at the two of them. "What are you doing here?" He asked. "Ten shows me his new clothes." Miga was very enthusiastic about him and looked up at him. "We practice designer names," said Ten, shrugging his shoulders. "Isn't she a little young for that?" Hendery asked, sitting on the bed. "Take a look at her. She's already beautiful, it doesn't surprise me with her parents if she doesn't even become more famous than Jaehyun later on and she'll surely be covered with all the designers. She has to practice all of this early on." Ten grinned and looked at the girl. Hendery shook his head. "What if she doesn't get famous." "She will. Miga, tell Hendery what you do with your Daddy." Ten put his shoulders on the girl and turned her to face his friend. "I'm playing in a drama with my Daddy," she said proudly. "And who else is playing in there?" Ten asked further, although he already knows the answer. "Uncle Lee Min Ho, Uncle Park Seojoon, Aunt IU," says Miga. "Wow, good cast," Hendery said, looking at Ten in surprise. "Isn't it? This drama is going to be incredible and she's a part of it." Ten grinned broadly and then turned Miga to face him. "Shall we put make-up on you now?" He asked excitedly and Hendery had to laugh because Ten was so happy because Miga was like a doll to him. "But Daddy said I can't wear makeup." Miga looked sadly at the floor. "But your daddy isn't there and he doesn't need to know, okay?" Miga's mood immediately raised. "YESSSSS!"
Kun came to visit the dorm. He now lived in his own apartment with his wife, but he had the apartment next door. Since his wife was just four months pregnant, he wanted to practice with Kiwoo and Geon right away. Winwin meanwhile fed Kiwoo and Kun put Geon on his lap. "It's unbelievable how time flies. Jaehyun just already has four children," said Kun and looked at the little boy. "He cheated a bit too, with having had twins," Winwin said with a wink. "That's true, but still. Somehow I only saw Jaehyun only with girls." "I also thought that he would rather only have girls. But you can't choose something like that," Winwin laughed and watched whether Kiwoo choked. "Don't you even want children?", Kun asks him and Winwin shook his head. "No ..." He was always silent about it. Winwin was generally very silent about his family. "Hmmm ... okay." Kun nodded and stroked Geon's back. "I hope I have a girl. I think I could handle that better," said Kun then. He was pretty excited that he was going to be a father soon. The story with him and his wife was very difficult as she was not known and she was Korean. Her parents didn't want her to marry a Chinese man and there were many problems that still exist to this day. But in the meantime a lot has calmed down and they are expecting their first child soon. "I also think that a girl will suit you," said Winwin and smiled.
Meanwhile, Lucas and Yangyang play with Sunoh. Since everyone was dorky, the three of them had a lot of fun. They enjoyed the time with Sunoh so much. "I thought I had a lot of energy, but I think I'll be more tired in front of him," said Lucas as Sunoh jumped onto his back. "Yes! Children have so much energy!" Yangyang laughed and saw Sunoh not let go of his friend. Sunoh giggled the whole time and barely came to rest. "Having kids is hard then," said Lucas and something changed in his gaze. "Yes? Lucas, what's wrong?" Asked Yangyang. Lucas was a bad liar and he could hardly hide anything. "You know I have something with Yiren. So we're not together, but we're having fun. You know, right?" Lucas stammered this to himself and Yangyang rolled his eyes. "Lucas, either you're with her or she's here. It's not a big secret now." "Okay, okay. She's not getting her period anymore and she may be pregnant," Lucas admitted. "Oh, have you already done a test?", Yangyang then asked and Lucas shook his head. "Then don't stress yourself. Take a test and it will show up," he tried to reassure his friend. Lucas nodded, but still wasn't quite sure. "I know, but you know. I'm in love with ..." Lucas stopped and sighed. "You know this can't work. You would only destroy a friendship. We have talked about it so many times," Yangyang sighed, but he could understand. "I know, I know..." said Lucas and starred in the emptiness.
Xiao Jun just came out of the shower when he was about to speak to something. "What was this today with Lucas?" He asked and sighed. Mia looked at him confused and shrugged. "Nothing." "But you've been talking a lot lately." "Can't I talk to your friends?" Asked Mia and looked at her boyfriend. "Yes, but there is a certain tension between you." Xiao Jun sat on the bed and looked sadly at the floor. "Hey, it's nothing. I only like and love you." She put her arms around his shoulders and kissed his neck. Xiao Jun smiled gently and Mia pulled him completely into bed. "Do you remember how we first met? There was an immediate attraction between us."
4 years ago: When Mia first came to Seoul, it was a different world for her. She was never really able to visit her older sister before because your mother never allowed it. But when Audrey and Victoria just took the initiative, everything worked out. It was weird for Mia, because the last time she saw you, you only had Miga and suddenly she is in the place where you have your life. And when she took care of Miga and Sunoh, she felt that she had lost too much of her sisters. She barely kept up just because she was the smallest. There was always the suspicion that she had a different father than her other sisters. Even if Edward was always there for her. She could have taken a test before, but she was afraid to know the truth. But sometimes she felt so distant from her sisters that it might even be a relief to find out that she is not a part of them. A lot of things were so strange to her, you and Audrey only longed for a family and Mia doesn’t want that. Victoria was the sister she had the best connection with, but she also lived so far away. All of the sisters lived on a different continent so it was difficult to be a family. After the children were in bed, someone knocked on the door and Mia remembered that a friend of Jaehyun's would come over. And when she opened the door, her chin fell almost to the ground. "Hi, you're Y/N's sister, aren't you? I'm Xiao Jun." The boy with the blond hair grinned and Mia blushed. She liked him very much right away. She didn't know what it was. He wasn't really her type, but she caught his eye immediately. "Yes, hi, I'm Mia." She smiled and immediately led him into the apartment. "Hi Mia. I just have to hand over the keys.” He gave her the keys and smiled gently. "Would you like something to drink?" Mia didn't want him to leave right away and she tries her chance. Xiao Jun looked around and wasn't sure. "Jaehyun comes back very late and my sister has only just gone out with my other sisters. And I'm so alone here ..." She pawed and looked up at him with wide eyes. "Well, I still have a little time." He grinned and of course he was pleased because he found Mia quite attractive.
It then became more than an hour. They both drank beer and wine and talked a lot. "Okay, let's play a game." Mia was a little drunk by now and she was trying to have a little fun. "Okay ..." Xiao Jun was still a little nervous and he held onto his drink tightly. "Then we play dare, choice or truth. You can choose." "Truth ... I guess." "Well then, answer me the question. Do you find me attractive?" Mia winked and she leaned against her hand. "Yes you are very attractive..." Xiao Jun blushed. "Good. I also choose truth." "Do you find me attractive?" Xiao Jun asked curiously. "Yes, you are hot." Mia took another long sip of her wine and grinned. "Okay. I choose dare now," he said and Mia knew immediately what she was going to say. "Kiss me," she said with a big grin and Xiao Jun raised his eyebrows. "You don't have to." She winked as Xiao Jun was suddenly on her and his lips pressed against hers. And both immediately found that it was right and it wasn't long before they wanted more. At first it was just innocent touches, their hands slipped under clothes until everything was taken off. "Do you have something to use?" She asks, looking up at Xiao Jun. He shook his head. "No, I really didn't expect it." "Okay, I bet my sister and her husband must have condoms somewhere." Mia got up and immediately ran into her sister's bedroom. Without a guilty conscience, she searched the drawers and quickly found what she was looking for. She ran back with the aluminum pack and opened it straight away. "The evening is saved," she said with a wink and already put the condom on his tip. "Oh God," Xiao Jun groaned as she pulled it over his length. "If you already like this, then I'm curious how I must feel for you." She winked and pushed him down onto the couch. She sat on top of him and grinned. "Are you ready?" She asked and Xiao Jun nodded. She lifted her hips, took his length, and sat on top of them. Both began to moan and Mia wondered how long it had been since she felt something so good. She began to move her body towards him, and Xiao Jun clutched her waist. "Oh shit," he whispered and it was hard for both of them to be quiet because Sunoh and Mia slept in their rooms. But despite everything, they let themselves go, they felt their bodies and immediately noticed that they harmonized. Their touches grew tighter. Mia felt his length and rode closer to her orgasm. Xiao Jun grabbed her too and continued to fuck her ... and much harder now. They both enjoyed the pace and knew the sex was perfect. His hands grabbed her breasts and he had to moan because it made him all more happy. They were so inwardly that they no longer even noticed their surroundings. But suddenly Miga heard a voice. "Mia?" You came into the room and suddenly Mia and Xiao Jun sat up. "Xiao Jun?" You look confused to the two and see how they tried to cover their naked bodies with a blanket. "Oh my God." Victoria came also and for both was this a stupid situation. "I hope you have prevented, Mia! Mum kills us if you come home pregnant." Audrey's eyes were full of panic. Xiao Jun quickly tried to find his clothes together. "I'm so sorry, I ..." He was completely red in the face with shame. Victoria couldn’t stop laughing and Xiaojun tried to put on his clothes quickly. "I'll go, I'll call you." He said to Mia and disappeared quickly from the apartment.

K-DRAMA SIBLINGS WHO TUG AT OUR HEARTSTRINGS
Sometimes you can’t stand them, but you can’t live without them!
Families are often an important part of many K-dramas. One of the most fun and heart-warming family dynamics featured are between siblings. Siblings know exactly how to get under each other’s skin, but they would also do anything for their sibling out of love. While there are dramas with antagonistic sibling relationships, here are some warmer sibling relationships that’ll remind you to appreciate your siblings or sibling-like people in your life.
Start-Up
The once inseparable sisters of Start-Up grow up separately after their parents divorce. Seo Dal-mi (Bae Suzy) chooses to stay with her father while Won In-jae (Kang Han-na) chooses to live with her mother who ends up remarrying. While the sisters had a close relationship prior to the divorce, they end up having a rivalry when they meet again as adults. Although each sister thinks she chose the right parent to live with, they can’t deny that they’re curious about one another and missed each other. Their relationship will surely change as Start-Up tells their stories.
Record of Youth
The brothers of Record of Youth, on the other hand, start out not having a close relationship. In the beginning, Sa Hye-jun (Park Bo-gum) gets compared to his book-smart older brother Sa Gyeong-jun (Lee Jae-won). While Hye-jun feels that their father loves his older brother more, Gyeong-jun is envious of Hye-jun’s good looks. While they’re not the best of friends, they don’t hesitate to help each other in difficult situations. Hye-jun cheers up Gyeong-jun when he becomes the victim of fraud and Gyeong-jun stands up for Hye-jun when malicious commenters defame him.
It’s Okay to Not Be Okay
The brotherly love in It's Okay to Not Be Okay may induce tears. Moon Gang-tae (Kim Soo-hyun) grew up taking care of his older brother Sang-tae (Oh Jung-se) who is on the autism spectrum. While they deeply care for each other, they deal with unaddressed resentment and trauma from the past. As they start growing individually, they begin to shed their codependent relationship into a healthier one where they both happily flourish.
Reply 1988
Reply 1988 features a variety of relatable sibling relationships. Deok-sun (Lee Hye-ri) embodies middle child problems and gets compared to her smarter, older sister. Jung-hwan (Ryu Jun-yeol) has an endearing older brother who has failed the college entrance exam multiple times. Sun-woo (Ko Kyung-pyo) is a doting older brother to his baby sister Jin-joo and helps out his single mother dutifully. Taek (Park Bo-gum) is an only child, but is able to experience sibling-like relationships with and through his friends. Even if your family situation might be a bit different, you’ll be able to relate to the characters’ highs and lows.
My Mister
My Mister features middle-aged three brothers who have plenty of struggles, but also have each other’s backs. Eldest brother Park Sang-hoon (Park Ho-san) ends up living with their mother after getting fired and failing at two businesses. The youngest brother, Park Ki-hoon (Song Sae-byeok), is also unemployed and living with their mother due to being unable to make it big as a movie director. Middle brother Park Dong-hoon (Lee Sun-kyun) has a job, but his company’s CEO is having an affair with his wife. Despite the heaviness of life and their issues, the brothers support and encourage one another as they move forward.
The King 2 Hearts
The King 2 Hearts is set in an alternate reality with a constitutional monarchy. Prince Lee Jae-ha (Lee Seung-gi) experiences great emotional turmoil when his older brother King Lee Jae-kang (Lee Sung-min) is assassinated and his younger sister Princess Lee Jae-shin (Lee Yoon-ji) becomes paralyzed from the waist down. Once arrogant and irresponsible, Jae-ha transforms into a strong leader that would make his siblings proud. He becomes determined to fight against those responsible for his brother’s death and to protect his remaining family members.
