For a while the MDZS/CQL fandom and, to be honest, zosan fans. I think there's a thing of fandom fatigue that happens when something gets too popular too suddenly. But it's a phase that usually passes and a smaller but more connected fandom usually forms again in the aftermath.

Chapter text (under the cut)

Jun smiled as he watched the clouds pass softly across the sky. They morphed slowly, changing from snakes to dragons to birds to planes. (Or some other equally beautiful combination.) He liked being out here, watching nature, especially after what had just happened. He shuddered as he remembered the battle. 

It had been a close one, but now, after an hour or two after the last remaining rebels had been taken into custody, he finally felt safe. He allowed himself to sink further into the grass, laying on his back and letting his eyes flicker shut as a breeze carried the faint scent of Lake Verity to him. He was glad to be a strong battler.

But that wasn’t quite it…

He was glad to be a strong battler yes (because that’s what he was, a strong battler) but he was even more glad to have friends who were equally strong or stronger than he was. If someone didn’t have their backup, even the strongest fighter would falter eventually. He opened his eyes ever so slightly and lifted a hand above his face, letting the shadow fall over him as he watched his fingers move. He was happy to be that battler. Especially for someone like Hareta.

Sure, Koya was incredible, and Mitsumi was terrifying, but there was something about the way that Hareta fought that was just so inspiring. He was wild, and there was no way to guess what he would do next. That’s why Jun loved to support him, he supposed, seeing such a free spirit in their element, it was freeing… and maybe a bit more. He felt his face redden slightly as he thought about his friend. They were friends. He was Jun and he was Hareta. And that was that.

He sighed and lowered his arm, expecting the brightness of the sun to come bearing down on his face again, but instead, he saw a familiar grin staring down at him. ‘Hareta?? How did he sneak up on me like that?!’ Jun thought, sitting up and trying to act like a normal person who did not have a crush on their friend. 

“Hi Jun!” Said Hareta, his voice sounding slightly odd as he plopped down in the grass next to him, “How’s it going?”

Jun laughed. (Hareta was probably just tired from the battle, that’s all.) “Pretty good considering what was just going on,” he said, waving his hand around a little bit as he tried to recover his composure, “My back hardly even hurts this time!”

Hareta grinned at him and raised a hand for a high five (which Jun obviously reciprocated) but something about his energy level was making red bells go off in Jun’s brain. He squinted his eyes slightly, it was probably nothing. He was tired. So what if Hareta never got tired? Maybe he was just this one time, it had been a few weeks since he’d last had a real battle after all. Maybe he was out of practice.

But Jun couldn’t quite shake the feeling that something was wrong, even when Hareta started up a conversation about something just as meaningless and endearing as always. But it wasn’t until he reached out to rest his hand on Hareta’s shoulder (in the middle of a laugh) that he got real proof. He just crumpled. 

It wasn’t like he collapsed like a dust bunny or anything, but there was only one time that Jun could think of where he had been weak like this before. Yeah, sure, he had argued at the time that he was just hungry, but Jun hadn’t fully accepted that at least some of his tiredness had been due to, I don’t know, the poison that he’d just bit hit with?

Hareta laughed awkwardly as he sat up, brushing Jun’s hand off his shoulder with strangely shaky hands. “Sorry dude,” he said, his voice a little too weak for Jun to be okay with, “I don’t know what’s wrong with me right now.”

Jun opened his mouth to respond, but closed it again as Hareta quickly continued speaking. (Almost like he was intentionally cutting Jun’s questions off.) If Hareta was acting like this now… he felt his eyes drifting over his friend’s body (for once not to check him out) as he looked for any evidence of an injury. Hareta had a habit of disguising any problems he had with conversation or jokes, and, as Jun tried to check back into the conversation, he was clearly doing now.

But he didn’t act on his worries.

Not even when Hareta began to lean oddly forward, in a way that was anything but a casual stretch or normal sitting position. And not even when his eyes began to flicker shut and fill with darkness.

In fact, Jun only acted when Hareta’s voice shattered into a croak and he keeled over completely on top of him.

It was only then, as he let out a shout of horror and reached to catch his friend, that he noticed the blood. There was so much of it, seeping unnoticed through his black vest, and darkening his scarf only slightly as it mixed so calmly with the red pigment. 

Jun felt himself uncontrollably shaking as Hareta grabbed weakly onto him in some sort of attempt to try and disguise his pain.

How did this happen?

How hadn’t he noticed?

Why hadn’t Hareta told someone, LITERALLY ANYONE that he was actively bleeding to death when the first responders had first arrived at the scene of the battle?

And most of all, why did Jun feel so responsible?

Jun struggled to his feet, dragging Hareta’s limp body with him as he looked for the side of the hill that would be the easiest to climb down. He had to get him to a hospital. Now. If Hareta was on the verge of passing out from lack of blood, that must mean that he was really in the negatives now. Jun grit his teeth.

There was no way that he was going to let his friend now.

Not now, not before he had even told him that he loved him.

...But since the forums might get deleted soon I decided to make this insane list. I'm not joking this took me hours trying to find everything.

Characters not from/in DPA will have their fandom abbreviation along with their name. Some have two if two versions of the character could reasonably go in the ship, specifically if the Pokemon Anime form of the character makes the most sense but it could also be the games character.

PKSP = Pokemon Special/Pokemon Adventures

Pokeani = Pokemon Anime

ReBURST = Pokemon ReBURST

PKMN 7 = Pokemon 7

PKMN = Pokemon Games or just generally the character, no specific forms.

Please note that a lot of these ships are crack ships and I couldn't find any real fan-content of them.
