What an interesting meta you wrote @raggedyblue   about PAPRIKA (not to mention the spicy additions from @sagestreet  ​ here :))) and about the characters involved with that sweet and fiery spice, which is apparently missing not just in food but also in booze and tobacco too. :))) 

In TROTB, Sister Agatha gets bitten by Dracula in Budapest and it is here, where (probably) the dream about the voyage to Engalnd starts ... the one with no paprika on board. The combination of Paprika and Budapest instantly reminded me of the old song about Julischka from Budapest who has a heart full of Paprika. :)  That song is from the operetta Mask in Blue  (Love story with obstacles which ends well).

Am Balaton

Die Julischka, die Julischka, aus Buda-, Budapest, die hat ein Herz aus Paprika, das keine Ruhe lässt. So ungefähr könnte man das zusammenfassen, wobei dem Fräulein noch nicht ganz klar ist, wer jetzt die Julischka und wessen Herz aus Paprika ist. Wie auch immer, die Ananas-Gang feiert Frau Seefelds beendete Bewährungsstrafe und der Sliwowitz fließt in Strömen. Soviel zum Balaton, Balkan-Pop findet eben doch eher in Ex-Jugoslawien statt. Aber das Fräulein will nicht kleinlich sein. Warum auch? Es ist eine prima Episode, die Vergangenes aufnimmt und gleichzeitig einen kleinen Blitzer auf Zukünftiges erlaubt. Frau Flemming wird von einer weiblichen Komparsin angebaggert und das bringt die Tontechnikerin tüchtig ins Grübeln. Und wie das Fräulein, wissen alle anderen Fräuleins, wie das funktioniert mit der Mechanik des Verliebens. Hat sich der- oder diejenige einmal in unserem Kopf eingenistet, gibt es kein Zurück mehr. Es knistert gewaltig. Wenn sie synchron Frau Seefeld auf die Wange küssen, dann nur, weil diese sich mit ordentlich Sliwowitz-Durst zwischen sie stellt. Und dann tanzen sie ausgelassen, wie es sich für eine Balkan-Disco eben gehört. Weiter so!

Nase Zine 05 Exhibition & Zine Release Party

Nase Zine is a photocopy magazine (fanzine), founded by Deniz Beşer, La Garçonne and Muzaffer Hasaltay Du von Jetzt. It is published in three languages German, Turkish and English. We understand the Zine and its events as a point for a get-together of the Vienna based Turkish and post-migration subcultural scene. Topic of the Nase Zine's 5th issues is ''gender''. What does the social category gender mean? Why are these templates of separation and conflict existing? Is there such a think like ''normality''? What about the people who have to complete official forms and do not know if they should tick with "f" or "m"? What about the people who are overseen or especially perceived, because they do not correspond to normalized gender perceptions? How did the social construct gender changed its shape throughout the history? Which struggles and resistance did the also appear against this social pressure? Why are identity politics also functioning as an important tool? Of course, it is hard to  give sharp and totally right information on this senstive topic but the the artists of Nase Zine's 5th issue will try sharing their ideas and thoughts freely. This trailer, shot and edited by Lilly Pfalzer gives a brief overview of the queer performance art festival Purrr!-Femme!-ance! - Queer Femininities in Action, curated and organized by Julischka Stengele on September 15th 2019 at Otto-Wagner-Spital in Vienna. This event took place in the frame of Wienwoche - Festival for Art and Activism, Edition: 'Bitches & Witches.

FEMMES AGAINST FASCISM

A one-day festival dedicated to celebrating and discussing the various existences, practices and desires of queer fem/femme identities through action. The devaluation of femininity and the pathologization of queer desire, gender non-conformity and body diversity is a long-standing issue. The witch hunts never ended. They transformed, and the legacy of patriarchal violence lives on under different names. Ten local and international queer/trans/ non-binary artists will present several performances, both indoors and in the surrounding nature on the premises of present-day Otto-Wagner-Spital, a psychiatric hospital complex that was a site of Nazi crimes. The subversive potential of feminine forms of expression will be further explored in a moderated talk.
