"You don't know anyone at the party, so you don't want to go. You don't like cottage cheese, so you haven't eaten it in years. This is your choice, of course, but don't kid yourself: it's also the flinch. Your personality is not set in stone. You may think a morning coffee is the most enjoyable thing in the world, but it's really just a habit. Thirty days without it, and you would be fine. You think you have a soul mate, but in fact you could have had any number of spouses. You would have evolved differently, but been just as happy. You can change what you want about yourself at any time. You see yourself as someone who can't write or play an instrument, who gives in to temptation or makes bad decisions, but that's really not you. It's not ingrained. It's not your personality. Your personality is something else, something deeper than just preferences, and these details on the surface, you can change anytime you like. If it is useful to do so, you must abandon your identity and start again. Sometimes, it's the only way."

No one has a problem with the first mile of a journey. Even an infant could do fine for a while. But it isn't the start that matters. It's the finish line #JulienSmith #chairs #red #madrid #endofsummer #finishline #rememberbigcartel https://www.instagram.com/p/CESh2NApsJj/?igshid=csh2svjhbrnj

Your personality is not set in stone. Sometimes you must abandon your identity and start again. Set fire to your old self. It is not needed here. #juliensmith #theflinch #candle #flame #lifelessons

You know it's a good sign when you chose to read a free book and the one of the creators of FREAKIN VIDCON actually read it too and learned the same life lesson from it.

Trust Agents Chapter 6 Human Artist
Trust Agents written by Chris Brogan and Julien Smith talks about being able to survive and be successful on social media. Chapter 6 talks about being a Human Artist, portraying your human emotions into how you interact on social media. Interacting with people requires you to have proper etiquette skills and understanding. Being a human artist according to the book Trust Agents means, “Learning to work well with people, empowering them, recognizing their strengths and weakness and knowing when to improve relationships”. If not having this skills means failure for a company’s future then social interactions without these skills would be doomed too. Think like a web user and find something interesting for your audience. In order to find, retain and grow communities of customers in the human web, you need etiquette and understanding of how to navigate it.
Making friends in social media means you are curious about the person and do not necessarily mean you have to stay friends, in other words consider yourself un-friended if you try to market your stuff right away. In the real world you don’t make friends then try to sell your products right away, if it’s not acceptable in the real world then it probably won’t be acceptable on social media. Effective online actions according to the book are, Listening, Lurking, Asking, Reciprocating, Commenting and commenting back. As newcomers to the web, after going through those actions what comes next is contributing by having a conversation.
To understand people on the web transparency and Anonymity work together to help get the feedback we need. Trust Agents says that anonymity can help people open up and build ones confidence. But this can also lead to trolls; which is when you act in a way that’s not approved by others online. “Anonymity changes the way people behave online” when people don’t know who you are online you tend to act out and spam people just for the attention. There will always be trolls on the web; best thing to do is ignore them. They love causing Havoc, and your appalled reactions will just egg them on.
Working as a trust agent requires you to do customer service. Points to consider are,
1. Answer the phone,
2. Learn the three A’s (Acknowledge, Apologize, Act)
3. Customers shoot Back
As human Artist you need to know how to keep you “signals live. Meaning make constant touches (drop emails, tweets, Facebook notes), connect people together constantly (if you have a friend good at promoting music, look for chances to slot that person into a relationship with others who can benefit), link fervently (on your blog) and mix up the transmission methods.
According to Chris and Julien the entire book Trust Agents is a recipe into the land of “trust” and “how-to”. Trust on the web is different than it is in person. Have great first impression on the web, presentation of your Twitter or Facebook matters this means it should look professional. Everyone who sees it for the first time should be convinced that you know what you’re doing on the web and in real life.
At the closing of the chapter “Human Artist” they give us tips on how to be reliable on the web; reliability is the easiest way to differentiate you from others, they make us realize that you did not get at the top of your game alone on the web, share your influences. Use twitter to spread the message they also give us tips on how to be followed on twitter @chrisbrogan and @julien. At the end of the chapter and building up to the next chapter titled “Build and Army” they make us realize that on the web we go from being an individual to being a group. When we move from real life to online life, we move from relationships on a mostly individual level to those on an almost tribelike level, meaning you need to consider what the group would like, too. Trust Agents is a fantastic group that helps you navigate your way into success on the web, and I highly recommend it.
