There was a specific post that I was looking for to reblog for Julianuary when I came across this one from @yeahwehadatime that has been flagged as Sexually Explicit Content LOL!
Even when fully clothed, Ju is too fiery for Tumblr

I’ve seen clips from “The Pod”, the dance music parody Julian was doing before the Boosh, with animator Tim Hope. But I’d never seen the film they made, in which Julian, representing the future, faces off with an army of Noel clones, representing the evil forces of Retro! (Even in animated form Julian still manages to get his clothes off!)

The implications that some of the flashbacks in The Penguins of Madagascar have on All Hail King Julien are wild to me. AHKJ takes place over roughly a year and a half, and throughout his reign Julien is shown to be fun and caring. He'll sometimes make selfish decisions, but more often than not he does what he does out of love for his kingdom. He wants what's best for his peoples, though the manner in which he goes about achieving that goal is usually misguided. Either way, he is shown to be kind and full of joy.
On the other hand, TPOM shows Julien as vain and narcissistic. Now this fine for the setting of the show, as it takes place after the films and people can change over time. However, we also see flashbacks to his rule on Madagascar that also show him being vain and narcistic. For example, in the episode Happy King Julien Day! Maurice has a flashback to a prior King Julien Day in which the kingdom forgot and Julien then cruelly "whooped" his people, with Maurice commenting that he "couldn't sit right for a week" after the whooping. There are other examples of this sort of thing being brought up in TPOM, though the specifics aren't really important.
Obviously we didn't see Julien's entire reign throughout AHKJ, since there were only 78 episodes. Nonetheless, it is funny imagining Julien being fun and partying on-screen one day, and then the next day off-screen he's just being a cruel tyrant with a reign of terror that echoes that of Uncle King Julien.

A few years ago, Danny Jacobs uploaded a video where he sang "The Christmas Waltz" as King Julien. The video was removed at some point this year, but I downloaded a copy in time :)
Here it is for anyone who didn't get the chance to see it, and for the adoring fans and loyal subjects who like to revisit it every year. (I know I do.) Merry Julianuary!

Apparently julienuary is spelled with an A. As in Julianuary. But. I think that's wrong. So I'm not gonna do that

Watching the americans use the "double hitler" joke for years now and it didn't really hit me until last october that like, no yeah, like that is what it is, you're voting for hitler vs double hitler and double hitler will make it worse for women and also voting for just hitler will too but only a bit. And they're like "omgomg okok so what do we do" and it's like maybe you should just TommyFeburary6 them or something like that maybe theres a little bit of Cinqo de Mayo you can do like something on someone's birthday that is the 6th of Julianuary like maybe you should

I'd love if they made some All Hail King Julien comics. They already made some film tie-in comics and some TPOM comics, and those were really good. But I'd love to see some AHKJ comics as well. I'm sure there were a lot of parts of Julien's reign we didn't see, and it'd be cool to see more of it comic form. Maybe then we could see what Julianuary and King Julien Day looked like during Julien's actual time on Madagascar.
