A War Paint - Broadway - April 29, 2017 (Matinee) (NYCG8R's master) FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Patti LuPone (Helena Rubinstein), Christine Ebersole (Elizabeth Arden), John Dossett (Tommy Lewis), Douglas Sills (Harry Fleming) NOTES: The master gets caught during Face to Face. The theater was really full tonight so there are a good number of heads in this video, but they are worked around to the best of my ability. This is a super small theater (less than 160 seats) and at times the cast members were definitely singing to the camera and honestly giving their best performances because of it. All of the things on the upper level (the bathroom, the pathway, and the kitchen) are captured perfectly, and the zooms on the lower level (the living room and bench) look good as well. Obviously because this is a murder mystery kind of show the lighting can get a little bit dark, but my camera handles low lighting incredibly well. This is honestly the best video you could expect from this venue We Will Rock You - Germany (Cologne) - August, 2005 (Pro-Shot's master) FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Alex Melcher (Galileo), Vera Bolten (Scaramouche), Brigitte Oelke (Killer Queen), Martin Berger (Khashoggi), Michaela Kovarikova (Meat/Oz), DMJ (Brit/J.B.), James Sbano (Pop/Buddy/Bap), Harald Tauber (Teacher), Willemijn Verkaik NOTES: Multicam proshot We Will Rock You - Utrecht (The Netherlands) - October, 2010 FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: John Vooijs (Galileo), Marjolein Teepen (Scaramouche), Pia Douwes (Killer Queen), Paul Donkers (Khashoggi), Floortje Smit (Meat/Oz), Ruud van Overdijk (Brit/J.B.), Rutger le Poole (Pop/Buddy/Bap) NOTES: Good capture. 67 for Cold Reads in the Prompt Challenge 😄
67. “Are you getting jealous?” “You’re changing your outfit, now!”
I sat at the vanity, admiring Ayala’s work.  My skin was glowing, and my ponytail was sleek, not a hair out of place.  The pink stain on my lips matched perfectly with my outfit.
Normally not one for flashy prints, I had bit the bullet and decided to be daring. I wore an oversized blouse with a unique pattern of leaves and flowers tucked into a tight pencil skirt.  Some of my acquaintances were opening a store on Melrose and Harry and I were attending the opening party.  There would be a carpet and press for the first day of sales.  I was proud of the outfit and of myself for trying to be daring.  The dinging of the door alarm signaled someone entering the house.
“Babe?” I heard a voice call from downstairs.
“In my room!” I called in reply, fastening my earrings.
I watched from the mirror as a shadow approached down the hall as Harry approached.  I smiled, prepared to greet him as I put in my other earring before I saw his outfit.
“Oh no,” I said, looking at his chest.
“What?” he replied, looking down, his face dropping as well.
“You cannot wear that!”
The bright yellow and orange print of his button up completely clashed with my own busy pink pattern.
Harry continued to look confused.  “I just got this in from Gucci yesterday.  They asked me to wear it to an event.”
“But I wanted to wear a print tonight,” I argued, trying my hardest not to sound whiny.
He smirked, looking down to take in my own outfit.  “You look hot,” he told me.
“I know,” I replied.  “I was excited about this outfit.”
“We can’t both wear prints?” He questioned.  I frowned at him, unamused.  “What’s the matter?”  I watched his smug stare from across my bedroom.  “Are you getting jealous?  I know I look great in a print.”
“That’s it,” I huffed.  “You’re changing your outfit, now!”
“C’mon, Francesca,” he complained.  “I don’t have anything to change into!”
“Yes you do,” I replied.  “You have that black Armani shirt in my closet.”
“I don’t even know what season that shirt is from!”
“So?” I asked.  “You’ve never even worn it; the tags are still on.”
“So,” he repeated mockingly, “if I show up to this event with an Armani shirt from an old season when Gucci knows I have a shirt that’s not even for sale yet, they won’t be happy.”
“Harry,” I sighed, exasperated.  “You spend more at Gucci than anyone I know.  I promise you, they’ll get over it.”
He continued to frown, not wanting to get up.  I knew a way to get him to bend to my will, although I didn’t like to employ it often.  I made an effort to soften my body language, uncrossing my arms and relaxing my shoulders.  I approached him slowly, a slight frown on my face.  I gently placed my arms on his chest, feeling the silkiness of the fabric beneath my fingers.  It was a nice shirt.
“Baby,” I began, and I could feel him immediately soften as well.  “I don’t wear patterns that often.”  I looked into his eyes and saw a battle won.  “I really like this shirt, and Julia picked it out for me.  Will you please change?  I’ll wear whatever you want to our next event.”
He rolled his eyes, knowing exactly what I was doing.  “Fine,” he huffed.  He bent to kiss me softly, his fingers going to the buttons.  “You owe me,” he said, making an effort to look stern.
“Is that a threat?” I asked him.  “Or a promise?”

Report from GC80
My experience at the 80th General Convention of the Episcopal Church was amazing! Covid played its tricks on the Church as has been the case over the past two and a half years. The convention was postponed a year, then shortened from ten plus days to four with strict Covid protocols and limited attendance. We learned that a lot of the committee work could be done on Zoom prior to convention and evening work sessions were added as well. It was eight hours a day of meetings with breaks for meals and falling into bed exhausted at 10 PM. We actually finished work early Monday afternoon so we had some free time to explore the city of Baltimore and have dinner together as a diocese (the only time we were allowed to spend with Bishop Terry). So far, none of our deputation has been Covid positive during or after convention.
I sometimes fear that there won’t be any younger people coming up to do the work of the church. Seeing all the Millennial and Gen X lay and clergy deputies and Bishops at convention let me know I have nothing to fear. The newly elected President of the House of Deputies, Julia Ayala Harris, a self-proclaimed “church geek” like me, is in her early 40s and is Latina. She works professionally in the non-profit sector, and is a doctoral student in “Church Collaboration and Leadership Identity.” She has been serving as Vice Chair of the Executive Council and as such is well prepared for her role as President. But, she has big shoes to fill, following the accomplishments of Rev. Gay Clark Jennings in the transformation of our church into the 21st Century. Almost all the candidates for President were younger, women, or people of color.
In keeping with our Church’s quest in “Becoming Beloved Community,” we elected as Vice President the Rev. Rachel Taber-Hamilton, a Shaken First Nation ( British Columbia) woman priest from the Diocese of Olympia. Also, Resolution A125 passed that establishes an Episcopal Coalition for Racial Equity and Justice among Dioceses and congregations and Resolution A127, which pledges more than $2.5 million over the next two years to investigate the church’s role in Indigenous Boarding schools. Several Native American deputies spoke bravely about their own or their relatives’ abusive experiences at these schools. These are only two of the many social justice resolutions that passed. Please go to the Episcopal News website, episcopalnewsservice.org, and click General Convention 2022, to see all the Resolutions and news of what happened at the convention. Also, please go to episcpalchurch.org and click on “ Beloved Community” if you are not familiar with this initiative based on out Baptismal Covenant. Further on the Episcopal Church’s website, look at “Sacred Ground” a film and reading based dialog series on race, grounded in faith and truth telling. Please let me know if you would be interested in joining a local circle of conversation in 2023.
The 81st General Convention will be held in Louisville in 2024. It almost wasn’t, as a resolution was made and presented to change the location due to the passage of Kentucky’s Trigger Law prohibiting women’s health care for termination of pregnancy. Deacon Rev. Barbara Merrick spoke for our Diocese against the resolution using input from others in our delegation. We knew that much planning had already taken place and much money spent and that progressive Louisville is always being punished by our conservative state legislature. Some also felt that the Episcopal Church needs to be present in such states and speak for the dignity of women, people of color, and LGBTQ+ persons. Thankfully the resolution did not pass (and a suit against the state legislature has put a hold on the trigger law for now.) I hope some of you will volunteer to help out at the convention as you will be needed! To volunteer, go to episcopalky.org, open the menu at the top right, click “81st General Convention, and you will see a link to sign up to volunteer.
Thank you to everyone who elected me as a deputy and I would like very much to serve as a deputy again. It takes one convention just to see how the church works and I hope I would be assigned to a committee the next time and have a more active role. Feel free to contact me for questions or more information.
Blessings and peace from your sister in Christ,
Cam Norman

GRAMMY AWARDS UP FOR GRABS: WHO WILL WIN?
By DJ FR8-O
Tumblr media
It seems like just yesterday we were proudly sporting our tacky party hats, sipping bubbly till we got sloppy and scanning the room for a stray set of lips to welcome the New Year with. Now that the glitter has settled and your hangover has healed (for now), it's time to celebrate the music that made 2017 a little more bearable. In just a couple of weeks, the industry's crème-de le-crème will gather to stroke the egos of those who caressed our eardrums, made us move and woke us up over this past year.
If you're curious as to what this year's 60th Grammy Awards performances will be like, some of the nominees are already on deck to grace the stage including Lady Gaga, P!nk, Kesha, SZA, Cardi B and Bruno Mars – who is treasuring six nominations. Since I couldn't squeeze in all 84 categories in here (nor would I want to), here are just some of the highlights along with who I think should grab the Grammy on January 28.
Best New Artist
Khalid Lil Uzi Vert Julia Michaels SZA
Tumblr media
Alessia Cara There was definitely no shortage of fresh-faced talent in 2017. Some we heard on steady rotation from day one, while others made their debut towards the latter half of the year. This Canadian singer-songwriter not only proved her worth through solo hits like "Wild Things" and "Scar to Your Beautiful," she also showed us she plays well with others through collaborations like "Wild" (with Troye Sivan), "Stay" (with Zedd) and the 'Song of the Year' contender, "1-800-273-8255" which she co-wrote.
Tumblr media
Best Pop Solo Performance
"Love So Soft" - Kelly Clarkson "Million Reasons" - Lady Gaga "What About Us" - P!nk "Shape Of You" - Ed Sheeran
"Praying" - Kesha Talk about a Sophie's Choice! If it were up to me, all of these nominees would share this award. They each brought their own unique gifts to the table – whether it be raw vocals, a poignant message, an addictive hook or a relatable story. But if I must choose, I would have to go for 2017's most anticipated comeback. After losing her battle in the courtroom, she stormed back into the studio and bounced back like a true warrior with her head up high and her voice loud.
Tumblr media
Best Pop Duo / Group Performance
"Despacito" - Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee Featuring Justin Bieber "Something Just Like This" - The Chainsmokers & Coldplay "Stay" - Zedd & Alessia Cara "Thunder" - Imagine Dragons
"Feel It Still" - Portugal. The Man Not gonna lie. There's something about Imagine Dragons' frontman Dan Reynolds that makes parts of me rumble like thunder, but sadly that's not the type of performance that wins you a Grammy. However, this one is! These newbies have moved into the tired old dance-pop domain and are giving it a much-needed makeover. Can't wait to see what other upgrades they've got in store for 2018.
Best Pop Vocal Album
Kaleidoscope EP - Coldplay Lust For Life - Lana Del Rey Evolve - Imagine Dragons Rainbow - Kesha ÷ (Divide) - Ed Sheeran
Tumblr media
Joanne - Lady Gaga Joanne's country slant and shortage of dance anthems may have split Gaga's fans, but that doesn't mean it's not a fantastic album. Check your genre preferences and Fame Monster expectations at the door and you'll hear brilliant storytelling, moving melodies and the perfect soundtrack to your Friday night karaoke bar crawl with your besties (minus the broken down truck and cheating lover).
Best R&B Performance
"Get You" - Daniel Caesar featuring Kali Uchis "Distraction" - Kehlani "High" - Ledisi "The Weekend" - SZA
Tumblr media
"That's What I Like" - Bruno Mars Who hasn't dreamt about owning a "beach house in Miami" where you "wake up with no jammies?" If you haven't, then you probably already own one. Either way, there's no getting this melody out of your head once it's washed over you. With his gravely pipes, sick moves and chameleon-like versatility, this track is just one example of why Bruno Mars is quickly becoming this generation's Michael Jackson.
Producer Of The Year
Calvin Harris Greg Kurstin Blake Mills No I.D.
The Stereotypes Unless you're an obsessive audiophile like me, you may not have heard of this unstoppable songwriting/production team, but you've definitely heard their work. By crafting hits like "Better" (Lil Yachty Featuring Stefflon Don), "Deliver" (Fifth Harmony), "Finesse" (Bruno Mars), "Mo Bounce" (Iggy Azalea) and dozens more, this quartet consisting of Jonathan Yip, Ray Romulus, Jeremy Reeves and Ray Charles McCullough II have definitely earned their moment of glory.
Tumblr media
Record Of The Year
"Redbone" - Childish Gambino "The Story Of O.J." - Jay-Z "HUMBLE." - Kendrick Lamar "24K Magic" - Bruno Mars
"Despacito" - Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee ft. Justin Bieber As much as I'd love to snub the Beeb on this one, it just wouldn't be fair to Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and the rest of the producers, musicians and engineers who helped make this track the most overplayed song of 2017. We may not be too eager to hear it again in '18 (or ever), but that kind of accomplishment deserves some recognition.
Tumblr media
Song Of The Year [Songwriter(s)]
"Despacito" - Ramon Ayala Rodriguez, Justin Bieber, Jason Boyd, Erika Ender, Luis Fonsi & Marty James Garton Jr., [Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee ft. Justin Bieber]
"4:44" - Shawn Carter & Dion Wilson, [Jay-Z]
"1-800-273-8255" - Alessia Caracciolo, Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, Arjun Ivatury, Khalid Robinson & Andrew Taggart, songwriters [Logic Featuring Alessia Cara & Khalid]
"That's What I Like" - Christopher Brody Brown, James Fauntleroy, Philip Lawrence, Bruno Mars, Ray Charles McCullough II, Jeremy Reeves, Ray Romulus & Jonathan Yip, [Bruno Mars]
"Issues" - Benny Blanco, Mikkel Storleer Eriksen, Tor Erik Hermansen, Julia Michaels & Justin Drew Tranter, [Julia Michaels] Julia Michaels may sound like she's a little broken, but she's about to make 2018 her bitch. The 24-year-old doesn't just lend her voice to this track, she helped write it. And in a world of dysfunctional relationships, insecurity and just plain ol' bad decision-making, why not celebrate someone who is just as messed up as we are?
Tumblr media
Album Of The Year
"Awaken, My Love!" - Childish Gambino 4:44 - Jay-Z DAMN. - Kendrick Lamar Melodrama - Lorde
24K Magic - Bruno Mars By now you're probably thinking I'm either on Bruno Mars' payroll or just playing favorites. Rest assured the answer is none of the above, but I've gotta give credit where credit is due. Of all the nominees in this category, only one of them transcends the rainbow of music flavors that 2017 had to offer. 24K Magic isn't just a pop album. It's a mouth-watering buffet of R&B, rap and dance tracks that serve up sweet and savory bites to satisfy even the pickiest palate. Any album that can pull that off is nothing less than pure gold.

SANTA MONICA, CALIF. (NOV. 28, 2017)—The Recording Academy™ welcomes this year’s class of GRAMMY® nominees. Already a 21-time GRAMMY winner, JAY-Z leads with eight nominations, followed by Kendrick Lamar (7), Bruno Mars (6), Childish Gambino (5), Khalid (5), No I.D. (5), and SZA (5). Selected from more than 22,000 submissions across 84 categories, the nominations showcase some of the most gifted music makers of the past awards year (Oct. 1, 2016–Sept. 30, 2017).
