Wang Chuan Feng Hua Lu (忘川风华录) Masterpost

Wang Chuan Feng Hua Lu (忘川风华录) is a Vocal synth (Vocaloid and SynthV) music project. It consists of songs themed around different figures throughout Chinese history. The project is a collaboration between different artists and creatives, with music and videos featuring prominent traditional Chinese elements. The project's title translates to "The Records of Magnificence of the Wangchuan" - In Chinese mythology, "Wangchuan" (or River of Forgetting) is a river in the Underworld that can rid one of their past life's memories, similar to the river Lethe.

A mobile game adaptation has also been developed by NetEast. Unfortunately, I haven't played it so I can't give much insight on it. However, I assume that its premise is similar to that of the idea behind the project as a whole: all these historical figures meeting each other in the Underworld after they died. Maybe.

Notre commentaire : “Skiptrace” ou “La Filature” pour la distribution française, est un film d’action américano-chinois datant de 2016, réalisé par Renny Harlin, à qui l’on doit également “Peur Bleue” (1999). Les acteurs principaux sont Jackie Chan, qu’on a pu voir dans “Police Story: Lockdown” (2013), Eric Tsang, qu’on a pu voir dans “Ip Man: The Final Fight” (2013), Fan Bingbing, qu’on a pu voir dans “Far Away” (2011), et Johnny Knoxville, qu’on a pu voir dans “Elvis & Nixon” (2016).

Le film a été annoncé pour la première fois en mai 2013, comme étant une coproduction sino-américaine dirigée par Sam Fell et mettant en vedette Jackie Chan et Fan Bingbing. Jackie Chan, interprétant un détective hongkongais qui s’allie avec un joueur pour trouver un leader criminel. La société Exclusive Media acquit les droits de diffusions internationales. Le 22 octobre 2013, il a été annoncé que l’acteur Seann William Scott avait intégré le casting afin d’interpréter le joueur invétéré. Le 3 septembre 2014, Johnny Knoxville a remplacé William Scott pour ce rôle secondaire.

Le tournage devait débuter le 13 janvier 2014, mais a finalement commencé le 3 septembre 2014 à Hong Kong et en Chine, pour s’achever le 15 décembre 2014. Le directeur de la photographie, Chan Kwok-Hung, s’est noyé alors qu’il était sur un sampan (bateau chinois à fond plat servant souvent d’habitation) à Sunny Bay de Lantau Island à Hong Kong. Ce métrage lui est dédié. 

“La Filature” a pris la première place lors de son lancement en Chine, rapportant 60 millions de dollars. Le film a finalement engrangé 126 millions de dollars au box-office chinois. 

“La Filature” amène Jackie Chan à essayer une nouvelle fois la combinaison sino-américaine, mais malheureusement, c’est nettement moins payant que les précédentes versions qui proposaient Jackie Chan / Chris Tucker (Rush Hour) puis Jackie Chan / Owen Wilson (Shanghai Kid). Johnny Knoxville n’arrive pas à apporter la touche d’humour naturelle qui se dégageait avec fluidité de ces deux franchises précédentes. 

La mise en scène de “La Filature” est absolument pathétique. Renny Harlin ne semblant pas être sûr lui-même de ce qu’il veut montrer. Vous pouvez ressentir cette confusion dans son cadrage. Le montage vous forcera parfois à secouer la tête de dépit, tellement c’est grave. L’humour est relativement confiné à quelques scènes. Avec Johnny Knoxville aux avant-postes, on pouvait s’attendre à nettement mieux. Mais l’attente devient punitive, car il ne se passe rien de particulier en terme de comédie. 

Reste le phénomène Jackie Chan qui parvient toujours à nous divertir malgré que le nombre de scènes de combats dans ses films ont connu un déclin graduel au cours de ces dernières années. L’âge, 63 ans dans quelques jours, y est certainement pour beaucoup. Il y a encore quelques années, même quand l’histoire n’était pas bonne, ses performances martiales et ses cascades pouvaient compenser. Désormais, ce n’est plus le cas. Il est peut-être temps qu’il utilise une doublure pour certaines scènes pour éviter qu’il ne se blesse lors de ses cascades comme on peut toujours le voir lors du générique de  fin de chacun de ses films. 

En conclusion, “La Filature” est un modeste film d’action qui ne fera qu’ajouter une ligne supplémentaire à la déjà très longue filmographie de Jackie Chan. L’histoire est sans grand intérêt et l’intrigue est cousue de fil blanc. La photographie est parfois indigeste et la mise en scène semble souvent hasardeuse. Le duo Jackie Chan – Johnny Knoxville ne fonctionne pas aussi bien que ceux qui mettaient en scène Chris Tucker ou Owen Wilson. En outre, Fan Bingbing est sous-exploitée dans un rôle secondaire sans réelle dimension. Un métrage qui finira rapidement aux oubliettes.

New batch: Wang Bi (王必), Guan Tong (管統 , Pretty sure this isn't supposed to be Guan Xing's son), Ruan Ji (阮籍), Zhu Ji (朱績).

With the exception of Guan Tong (who served Kang/Yuan Tan), they’re relatively important figures.

Wang Bi: A Wei officer. When Cao Cao became Governor of Yan in 192, Wang Bi served as a staff officer. He arranged formal recognition of Cao Cao’s position from Li Jue’s regime. By 198, he served as Cao Cao’s registrar and was noted for encouraging Cao Cao to execute Lü Bu. By 217, he served as Cao Cao’s adjutant and was in charge of the court in Xu city on Cao Cao’s behalf (while Cao Cao himself ruled from Ye). Early in 218, a group of court officials including the Minister Steward Geng Ji and Grand Physician Ji Ben planned to seize Xu and surrender the city to Guan Yu. They attacked Wang Bi, but he escaped and organized a counterattack. By the next day, Wang Bi retook the city and killed the traitors. However, he was heavily wounded in the fighting and died a few days later.

Guan Tong: An officer under the Yuan family. He served as Administrator of Donglai (in Qing province) and was loyal to Yuan Tan after the schism within the family. After Yuan Tan was driven away from Ye by Yuan Shang, many of his local officers mutinied against him. Guan Tong led his forces to aid Yuan Tan and helped him secure Qing. During that time, Guan Tong left his wife and children at home in Donglai and they were killed by bandits in his absence. Yuan Tan promoted Guan Tong to Administrator of Le’an, a strategically important position. After Yuan Tan was killed at Nanpi in 205, Guan Tong refused to surrender to Cao Cao. Although Cao Cao initially wanted to execute Guan Tong, he was persuaded to admire the man’s loyalty and released him.

Ruan Ji: A scholar from Wei, he was part of a famed group of academics that included his cousin Ruan Xian, Xi Kang, Xiang Xiu, Liu Ling, Shan Tao, and Wang Rong. They were called the Seven Philosophers of the Bamboo Grove. Ruan Ji, in particular, was known for his excessive drinking and impropriety. Many contemporary scholars criticized him for his behavior, but Sima Zhao valued Ruan Ji’s talents and the two were close friends, so these criticisms amounted to nothing. Ruan Ji was a highly accomplished scholar and became particularly renowned for his poetry and music. There are many anecdotes about Ruan Ji as well as his circle of friends, though most are of dubious authenticity.

Zhu Ji: Later known as Shi Ji, he was the son of Zhu Ran and an accomplished general in his own right. He participated in numerous campaigns against Wei and earned merit even in losing battle. He was particularly known for his defense of Jiangling in 250. He was also noted for his excellent conduct and good judgment. By the end of his life, he commanded the entire Wu army along with Ding Feng.

Without context I can’t guarantee these are the people you’re talking about, but as near as I can tell:

In brief:

Wang Chen: Nephew of Wang Yun, brother of the more famous Wang Ling. When Li Jue and Co. stormed Chang’an, Wang Chen and his brother Wang Ling escaped and fled back home to Taiyuan. In later years, Wang Ling joined Cao Cao and became a very powerful official - although he died in shame after plotting rebellion against Sima Yi.

Guo Ma: A Wu officer, he was stationed in Nanhai. He led a revolt there but was killed by Tao Huang.

He Ceng/Zeng: One of Wei’s most eminent scholars. He was a major official during the time of the Sima regime and during the early years of the Jin dynasty. He was regarded as one of the finest academics of his generation.

He Zhen: A poet who was friends with Yang Hu.

Cen Hun: A much despised officer of Wu. He was a close friend and confidant to Sun Hao.

Xie Jing: A subordinate of Lu Xun. He played a leading role in mopping up Liu Bei’s supporters in Jing after Guan Yu’s defeat in 219, defeating several groups of loyalists.

Li Feng: a Wei politician, he was considered brilliant from a young age. He rose through the ranks at court and, after Cao Rui’s death, he became the right hand of Dowager Guo. Among other things, he was the mastermind behind the plot to assassinate Sima Shi, for which he was executed. (There are minor figures from Shu and Zhong by this same mane, but it’s likely the Wei politician.)

Zhang Nan: An officer of Shu. He joined Liu Bei when he was in Jing in the early 200s. During the eastern campaign (221-222) he was one of the vanguard leaders. He was killed during Shu’s defeat.

Sun Zhen: An officer of Wu and grandson of Sun Ben. He participated in Zhang Ti and Zhuge Jing’s attempt to resist Jin but was killed in battle.

Ning Sui: A fictional character; one of Jiang Wei’s generals.

Wu Yan: Several people by this name, and without characters I can’t be sure which one this is but I suspect it was the Wu general [吾彥]. Administrator of Jianping, he noticed debris from Wang Jun’s navy floating down the river and warned Sun Hao of the coming invasion, though he was ignored. He held out in Jianping against the Jin forces until Sun Hao surrendered.

Ju An/Gou An: A fictional officer of Shu.

Hu Yuan: Son of Hu Lie, he played a leading role in putting down Zhong Hui’s rebellion.

Shao Ti: A noted academic of Wei and trusted adviser to Sima Zhao. He was an accomplished scholar, though he is mostly remembered as one of the people who warned Sima Zhao not to trust Zhong Hui.

Tang Bin: An officer of Jin, he was a trusted subordinate to Wang Jun and played a leading role in Wu’s conquest.

Shi Huan: An early follower of Cao Cao. He was noted for helping Cao Ren kill Sui Gu in 199, and for destroying one of Yuan Shao’s supply convoys with Xu Huang in 200. Little else is recorded about him.
