Is it 2 years in the making? Almost but not quite 👀

Midway through his first class back at college for semester two, Jughead found himself completely unable to concentrate on his professor.

Instead, his computer’s cursor strayed away from the poem he’d downloaded as he grit his teeth and opened up Google. He typed into the search engine: Can you hallucinate seven months after a concussion? And waited for the instant flow of information.

The results weren’t giving him much optimism, but if the insanity of his life the previous year had taught him anything it was that he had to accept everything for what it was. And right now, his life was forcing him into the path of a person who had tried to frame his girlfriend for his murder.

Elle stirred in his arms and blinked up at him. When he looked down at her, he saw the tell-tale signs that she was about to start crying. Almost automatically, he reached into the side of his backpack and pulled a bottle out of the warmer. Elle hungrily accepted it just as she made a gurgle of annoyance.

He noted the side-eye glances some of his classmates gave him, but their attention quickly went back to the projector screen with which the professor attempted to explain her poetry analysis. He snuck a glance at Donna - but she wasn’t looking at him, merely smirking ahead.

My favorite background gag is Archie doing ridiculous stuff like texting Bett and Veronica this message in a group chat you have to imagine he meant to text them individually and yet. And yet.

FOR REAL like maybe it’s bc my high school friends literally housed, fed, and clothed me but i’m like hellooo can someone notice he is in need of material support. and in a broader sense like he really is the narrator and not fully allowed to be a character in the same way as the other 3 mains

my question is why does no one pay attention to jughead. like they know (or at least the andrews do) that his dad is out of work and he’s now losing his job, they had to have known his mom and JB moved away, even if they didn’t know about him living at the twilight you already could not support two people on a 15-year-old’s after-school job and you’re even more fucked when he no longer has that

and everybody’s just like oh ha ha, jughead cares about old boring stuff, and i want to scream!!!!!! it might make more jobs for riverdale “in some hypothetical future” he tells fred because without the twilight he won’t have a future!!!!!!!

The first appearance he was Burton -- and seemingly a part of the same Massachusetts Lodges who defeated President Wilson's foreign policy goals and lost out to the Kennedys. Indeed, a young Bob Montana did a mural for them -- or so Wikipedia claims, though I see no citation.

Riverdale’s Jughead speaks out about his relationship with Betty.

After a series of debates about Jughead’s asexuality (or lack thereof), “Riverdale” has taken the character on a romantic turn. In “Faster, Pussycats! Kill! Kill!”, the latest episode, Jughead revealed his feelings for Betty — and made a move on them. It’s true: Jughead Jones kissed Betty Cooper. Speaking to CBR and other reporters, Cole Sprouse — who plays Archie’s best pal — weighed in about Jughead’s vulnerabilities, his view of Betty, how he’ll deal with the Coopers and more.

“It’s important to remember that — though Betty and Archie when they were younger were this cute couple — Jughead, Betty and Archie were the three childhood friends. So Betty knows Jughead probably just as well as Archie does in certain ways and she is also this sort of nostalgic force of what was once morally just,” Sprouse explained. “I do believe Jughead is absolutely obsessed with what was once Riverdale, and Betty still represents this morality and purity that he associates to this more ‘Peter Pan’-like childhood version of Riverdale. He finds great comfort in that and becomes easily accessible and resonates with him.”

He also revealed that we’ll see Jughead without his hat on in moments of vulnerability — particularly where Betty is involved. “So there are a couple episodes — I won’t spoil too much — where you definitely get to see Jughead without a hat on, but we’ve saved it only for real vulnerable and personal moments,” he shared. “Yeah, you only see Jughead without his hat on in super vulnerable moments, because we kind of sold it as like his security blanket of sorts, and so – when he’s willing to take it off – it becomes this kind of special, vulnerable, personal thing. I think the first time he loses his hat is a moment with Betty. There are three episodes I think he loses his hat — it’s episode 10 (GET EXCITED!), episode 12, and once this episode [the finale] as well.”

As to Jughead’s relationship with the Coopers, Sprouse said, “Actually, episode 10 plays with that quite a bit. He kind of has this lone wolf complex, but he distances himself as an attempt not to get hurt. His direct involvement in writing about this murder puts him smack-dab in the middle of all these relationships and also gives him the power to really hurt and damage people who are close to him who he finds out end up being way closer to the actual case than he might wish, and that includes the younger and older crowd. With great power comes great responsibility and he finds himself in this power position, being able to write this manifesto of the underworkings of the town, and has the ability to really destroy people’s lives, and that’s a complicated thing to do.”

Starring K.J. Apa as Archie Andrews, “Riverdale” airs Thursdays at 9 pm on The CW. The series also stars Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones, Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge, Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Ross Butler as Reggie Mantle and more. “Breakfast Club” alum Molly Ringwald will also recur as Archie’s mother Mary.
