Hello! Ok so can I request a whitebeard pirates x child reader?
Basically reader has this big fat crush on shanks and everytime that shanks visit the Moby dick reader would give shanks flowers, cards, and candies
Shanks also has this huge ego boost often making comments how he's reader favorite which anger the whitebeard pirates
Ace was so ready to strangle shanks but reader gets between them and there like "Stop fighting! if you keep this up I'll go with Mr shanks and his crew!"
Ace is heartbroken, thatch is sobbing on the floor, while everyone else is stunned LOL
-👻 anon
Puppy Love (Shanks x gn!child!reader x Whitebeard pirates)
Part two
A/N YALL GET YOUR GRILLS READY CAUSE I COOKED HERE, I loved making this im not really into crack fics so I wanted to keep it as real as possible but while still adding that spec of dramatics of it and I think I found the perfect balance
Reader here is replaced by Dokucha which stands for Reader in japanese
Dividers by @/saradika
Tumblr media
At first, the Whitebeard pirates thought it was normal. Dokucha was quite the amicable child, after all, and it was not unheard of for them to give small gifts to guests who came on the ship.
The first time Dokucha had seen the red-haired Captain was when the yonko was visiting the Moby Dick on business. Upon spotting the man Dokucha was quick to sneak into the clinic and steal some candy to hand to him.
“Here, Mister Shanks,” they said shyly, handing the candy to said man
Shanks took the candy from the child and thanked them for it
“For me?”
They nodded, a faint red hue blooming on their face as they fidgeted, their upper body spinning back and forth to keep their nerves down
He chuckles softly, giving the kid a small smile and ruffling their head
"Thank you very much, kid," he said as he turned to leave
They squealed happily once he had stepped off the boat, the red hue now taking over their face entirely as they replayed the event on their heads
The Whitebeard Pirates looked on in confusion at the small kid who had grown so fond of the red-head captain
“Ne, is he coming over again?” Dokucha questioned, lying their head on the railing watching as the Red forced slowly sailed away
“Pops needs to discuss some more loose ends with him, so he will be back soon,” Jozu answers absentmindedly
“How soon?”
He looks at the little one before shrugging
“A couple days, maybe a week.”
“Why are you so curious, Dokucha?” Izou asks with a raised brow at the child’s sudden interest
“Nothing!” They said, grinning ear to ear as they went into the ship a skip to their step on their way
Tumblr media
The pirates brushed it off as the kid simply being excited at the fact that someone out of their family was coming to visit; they were very wrong.
On the next visit, Dokucha had begged Vista to make some flowers for them and had even sneaked into the kitchen to steal some of the edible flowers to make a small bouquet.
“Here Mister Shanks”
“For me?” Shanks asked with a slight grin on his face as he took the small bouquet and gave the little one a thankful look
“Dokucha, did you make this?”
“Yeah, I made it for you,” they mutter shyly with a shrug
Shanks bends down to the child’s height
“Thank you very much; it looks like you worked hard to make it so pretty.” he takes one of the flowers and tucks it behind their ear
“Here, now you look pretty as well.”
Their face explodes with red at the gesture, a lovesick look on their face as they watch him go
The crewmates raise their eyebrows at this behavior; Ace is the first to speak up
“Hey, that idiot is trying to steal Dokucha!” mutters Ace as he elbows Marco
“That’s just how Dokucha is; you know how friendly they are,” he says with a grunt at the hit
“No, No, Ace is onto something here; he’s definitely up to something,” agrees Thatch
Marco rolls his eyes as he leaves the two to talk their conspiracy out
Tumblr media
Turns out he should have heeded their words as he now felt the same feeling crawling up his skin as he watched his youngest sibling yet again approaching the man with another small gift, a small golden coin they had found on their last island
By now, Shanks had started expecting it, so when the kid approached them, a smirk appeared on his face
“What do you have for me today?” he said, scooping the small child up
“I found a pretty coin for Mister Shanks!”
He backs up slightly to look at the coin the child had raised
“You’re spoiling me here, kid. What has my favorite Whitebeard up to?”
They shrug
“I played with my brothers again.”
He chuckles softly
“You’re adorable; I might have to steal you; we need some of that energy in the red Force,”
Dokucha’s response was stopped as they both turned at a hot feeling enveloping them
“Red-haired Shanks,” Ace growls, a tight grin on his face as his fire flickered around him
“Don’t get me wrong, I'm still eternally grateful for you saving and taking care of my brother, but I won’t sit still and watch you steal Dokucha.”
“Would you be so kind as to put my dear sibling down?” Thatch says, a similar tight smile on his face as he swings around his kitchen knives
Marco stared at the confrontation unfolding before him, his eyes drilling into the opposing captain, waiting for the perfect moment to swoop in
“Stop! If you hurt Mister Shanks, I will be mad at you forever! And I will go on adventures with Mister Shanks!”
Thatch gasps at their words
“Dokucha…you are breaking my heart!” He said, grasping at his chest at the sight
“Ah, Thatch-nii!” They said, jumping off Shanks's hand and running to their brother
“Is you’re heart okay?! I’m sorry! I'm not mad at Thatch-Nii!” They cry
Thatch rushes forward to the kid, embracing them in a hug
“Don’t you go running off with anyone else, okay? I won’t allow it.”
“Is your heart okay, Thatch-nii?”
He chuckles
“Don’t worry, I‘m fine. I would just miss you too much if you were to leave.”
“That being said, you are not going with Shanks.”
Shanks chuckles at this, a sly smirk growing on his face
“I don’t know. I might just steal the little one.”
“You-
“Stop” A commanding voice booms
“Ace, stand down,” Whitebeard mutters
Ace’s flame flares more as his jaw tightens
“Fine…”
Whitebeard turns his sight to the Red-Haired captain
“Boy, stop taunting my commanders.”
Shanks raises his hand in a forfeiting motion
“Couldn’t help myself,” he chuckles
“Well then, are you done messing around?” Thatch asked after a moment of silence, scooping up the child and putting them on his hip
“I think it is time for me to take my leave,” sighs Shanks, a small smile growing as he says this
“Hey, kid, say hi to Luffy for me, will ya?” He said, glancing at Ace
Ace rolls his eyes at this but grumbles out an agreement his way, a similar smile on his face
Shanks nods at this and takes his leave, jumping back to the Red Force and preparing to set sail
Dokucha whines at this, struggling against Thatch’s hold to try to follow after the redhead
Thatch looks down at the child struggling against his grasp
“Don’t.” He said bluntly
Marco glances at the small struggle before sighing and crossing over, pulling the kid from Thatch to sit on the other side of his hip, nodding at the chef in assurance
Dokucha tries to take advantage of the handover to wiggle their way out of their grasp but is unable to escape their brothers’ firm hold
“There isn’t escaping, you little troublemaker; no use trying,”
“But I want to see Mister Shanks off!”
“I know, bud, but you can’t run off with every stranger you see,” he said, ruffling their hair
They pout
“But it’s a handsome stranger!”
“And what if they're bad people? They could steal you away, you know?”
“Mister Shanks can steal me any day,” they sighed with a dopey smile
He lets out a small chuckle
“Your something else, kid,” he says, giving their head a light pat
“No, Marco-nii, Shanks is something else! So handsome and strong!”
He scoffs at that
“What are we, invisible?” he grumbles, walking into the ship
Ace and Thatch watched them walk away, the latter looking up at his Captain
“Hey, old ma-
“You’re not going after him.”
Tumblr media
Guys let’s be honest Dokucha is just voicing much of you are thinking, I think they are intrusive thoughts voiced out, honestly I keep re-reading and I keep laughing cause I just think of you guys doing that

White Beard Pirates x Reader Talking To Another Man
Ace, Marco, Izo, Jozu, Thatch, and Vista! Gender neutral!reader, slight cursing, kinda got lazy at the end sadly, might be a little ooc for some of them since it’s my first time writing them, no beta we die like ace, requested!
———————————————————————
Portgas D. Ace
Tumblr media
Ace is naturally a jealous man, he doesn’t really like to be, finding it to be an unattractive trait within himself however he can’t help it. Especially, when he finds you near another crew member, stealing all your attention.
It doesn’t take long for him to realize that you were missing for nearly half the day, gone from your routinely activity of finding him and giving a kiss to his cheek plus checking up on him. When he goes to find you he nearly crushes a piece of railing he was holding onto, realizing that you weren’t missing, no, someone had just been pestering you all day. No wonder why you haven’t been with him for nearly half of the day, this person was hogging you all to themselves! He’s quick to act though, a charming smile on his face as he plays up his outgoing personality, tring to cover his jealousy. Swinging himself over the side of the railing and walking over to you and the other man, warm arms wrapping tightly against your waist, pressing his chest to your back.
He tries to coax you into leaving with him, hands rubbing circles on your waist as he whispers softly in your ear of missing you. If that doesn’t work then he just glares at the other man until he leaves, eyes piercing and irritated. When the man quickly runs off not wanting to anger The Fire Fist Ace you look suspiciously back at Ace, his expression now changed to relaxed and loving. Again, he softly asks if you can hang out with him. Will give you puppy dog eyes if he needs too, please say yes.
Marco
Tumblr media
Without a doubt, Marco is the most calm about you talking to another man that isn’t him. It isn’t exactly that he doesn’t care, he just is secure in your relationship and the fact that you’d never go behind his back. Plus, he’s very aware that you also deserve to have a social life outside of him.
However, he also prioritizes your safety and wellbeing above all else, should something happen to you he wouldn’t forgive himself. His trust in you is absolute, as always, the people you talk to not so much. Especially when it’s while you’re stopped at an island, his eyes are glued to you and that man, making sure he makes no attempts to put you in danger. As a person with a high bounty you’re always at risk of being put in danger, and while Marco is confident you can protect yourself that doesn’t stop his worries any less.
Hovering near the areas you are, or just full blown hanging around you, a charming yet deadly serious demeanor about him. He definitely feels less uneasy when you’re both on the ship around trusted people, and a hundred times more when you’re close to somewhere he can monitor your surroundings. Overall, not very overbearing about you talking to other men, so long as he knows you’re safe and that the man isn’t bothering you.
Thatch
Tumblr media
Another man who would be pretty calm about you talking to another man is Thatch, probably would even join you in conversation with whoever you’re actively talking to if he has the chance too and you don’t mind.
As a more friendly natured man he’s quite happy when you meet new people, thinking that the socialization is good for you. If he’s not too busy then a lot of the time he’ll join in the conversation happily, pleased to talk with another person and especially you. If he is then he doesn’t really mind, he’s a little jealous that it isn’t him you’re talking to but just by a smidge, he gets over it pretty quickly.
He also does it to make sure you don’t get into any trouble. He wholeheartedly believes that you can absolutely take care of anyone that bothers you, he’s your #1 fan, but he also likes to be careful, especially if it’s with someone who isn’t from/is new to the crew.
Izou
Tumblr media
With Izou it’s a complete 50/50 how he acts, completely depending on how the other person is acting towards you, or if you both know the person.
If you’re chatting with a man that both of you know that he’s completely calm, maybe every now and then his eyes are flickering to your form to make sure you’re okay, but he allows you to have your conversation in peace with the man, occasionally gives the man death glares though so he knows not to do anything. If it’s a complete stranger though then his entire demeanor changes.
Izou is a fiercely loyal man, whatever it takes he’ll ensure you’re safe and happy, so without a doubt if you’re talking to someone new then he’s sticking beside you if he can. Definitely has a mean face while looking at the man you’re talking to, he’s just trying to keep the man under a watchful gaze. A hundred percent scares the man off.. Izou is definitely more protective than he is jealous, doesn’t mean you can’t make him jealous though. If he is jealous then he’s quick to get whatever pest of a man is near you away, trying to steal your attention for himself.
Jozu
Tumblr media
Jozu is very quiet, you never really know what he’s thinking until he actually says something. If you’re ever talking to someone else he’s especially hard to read, just staring at the both of you for a moment.
He’s just trying to make sure that the man has no bad intentions for you, his silence sometimes mistaken for brooding although he’s just trying to be through with his observations of the man. If the man is fine then he’s fine, only really looking back at you occasionally making sure you’re still alright.
If the man is a little strange or off putting though then he’s quick to act, smoothly and almost silently stealing you away from your company. If you ask him what’s wrong then he’ll obviously softly tell you, but once you both are far away from that weird ass man.
Vista
Tumblr media
Vista barely has any bones in his body to be jellyfish, key word being barely. Although, that jealousy is more towards if that man is hitting on you rather than if you’re talking to him.
He just watches for a moment you and the man having a conversation, not very worried knowing that he can trust the way you act around other people. His eyes leave you for just a couple minutes, looking at something else before going back to you. Your body rigid and face clearly uncomfortable, the man talking to you clearly getting too confident for his own good.
Ooo, he’s mad. How dare this man make you, his lovely partner, uncomfortable! Definitely coming to your rescue as quickly as he can. If you’re okay with PDA then he might put a hand on your waist to get the man to back off, if not then he’s just casually whisking you away from that creep.
Im so sad, Jozu barely has any gifs!! Also this was pretty fun, made me write about characters I wouldn’t normally, which was cool.
Hope you enjoyed! Peas out.

Hey Doll
A little excerpt from the next chapter:
Dinner with the Whitebeard Family:
Platters, plates, bowls, pots, and glasses are moved around the table as everyone passes stuff around. Newgate and Thatch keep reaching over you, so you don’t have to try and hold the heavy platters, and Thatch asks if you want something before putting some on your plate and then serving himself. The process repeats almost a dozen times while all the options are passed around.
With a little help from Thatch you get some butter and gravy to go with your choices, and end up with three glasses of water at some point.
“You’re going to drown the poor thing,” Vista says, “give me one of those glasses, I don’t have one.”
“Look just one firecracker shrimp-.” Marco starts.
“Absolutely not,” Thatch snaps, swatting Marco’s hand with a wooden spoon that has mashed potatoes on it. “We still haven’t talked preferences and I made that with Jozu in mind.”
There’s a brief pause at the table and Haruta gives his shrimp to Izou. Marco gets up and comes back with a small plate of pineapple slices, putting the spicy shrimp between them before returning to something else.
“That’s not gonna save you,” Jozu teases, breathing out in satisfaction after eating a shrimp.
“It’ll make the suffering tastier, yoi.” Marco quips and the others laugh.

Part Two - Ace x Reader - Leave The Falling To A Professional
(Title might change)
Part 1
It had been nearly a week after the incident at the cliff and the Whitebeard pirates had been working none stop to find the person that was reasonable for you & Ace being put in that position.
At the same time some of the crew had to stop Ace from trying to finding and killing them himself, by keeping him on the Moby and doing things so he would be kept busy when he wasn't by your side in the infirmary.
While you remained unconscious, different crew members had stopped by to see how you doing when they had a few spare moments.
They were starting to miss your laughter and random singing while working, as well as you scowling your many siblings when they did something stupid. Some of the newer ones to the crew were starting to see just how much your penance was always around now that you weren't around currently.
During this time Ace had come to realization that he was in love with you and every time he looks at you, unmoving, all he could see was you plummeting down into the water had and knowing he wasn't able to help you.
Had it not been for Vista and Jozu, he would of needed to be fished out by someone as well as he wanted to jump in after you, even though he knew it was pointless he still wanted to save you.
For the first time since the fall you started to show signs of waking. It began in the morning when Ace was sitting next you, holding your hand when he felt the first twitch followed by a second one not soon after, he then called out loudly for one of the nurse and Marco to come.
After checking out your vitals, Marco explained that you were on the way to waking up but there was no way to say how long it would take, it could be a couple of hours to possible another week or so before you woke up, so all they could do was wait as it was all up to you now, as to when you chose to wake up.
So over the next 12 hours following twitching of your hand, you showed a couple more signs of small movements but it was that night when the biggest change came, with Ace still sitting by your bedside telling you more stories of his childhood with brothers, as a noise caught his attention and stopped mid-story as he lent over the bed and stroked your hair,
“Come on gorgeous, time to wake up and show me them pretty eyes” Ace spoke softly, watching your face closely as your eyes began to move more behind your eyelids.
It took about another half hour before you began to wake up and spoke for the first time in nearly a week what felt like music to his ears.
“Ace” you slurred, as you slowly begin to open your eyes, looking around the room trying to work out where she was.
“Nice of you to join us again” He teased lightly, taking a glass from the table and pressed it against your lips, as you took a couple of slips of it before pushing the glass away, then looked up Ace as he placed the glass the table.
“What happened?” you asked him.
Looking down at you, Ace felt something bubble up inside him as he went to yell at you for being stupid and letting your hand slip free of his, as he remembered you falling and him screaming your name, but he lost most of his anger knowing that he couldn’t yell at you, at least not while recovering.
“You fell from the cliff top, so it seems you’ve been spending too much time with Thatch and Haurta, it seem their stupidity is rubbing off on you” he said and he needed to blame someone that wasn't himself him, and those two were all always around you, so they were getting it even.
He called out to Tate and Marco saying you were awake before sitting down in the chair again,
“Just don’t anything stupid like that again, leave it to someone like Namur to would be fine falling into the water cause he's a fishman” Ace said to you.
Both Marco and Tate came in, began checking you over while Ace moved away, to allow them more room to work as they checked to make sure you hadn't anything to your back and by making you move your toes.
When they were content with the tests they did to leave rest of them to the following morning after when you had proper sleep and not unconscious.
When it was just the two of you again, he sat back down next you and just stared you, taking your hand in his as he gave it a squeeze.
"Please don’t do anything like that again I mean it, I don’t know what I’ll do without you” he pleaded softly, as he stood up and lent over you, pressing a kiss in to crown of your head.
Soon your eyes began to drop as a wave tiredness swept over you and the last words you heard before sleep took you again were.
“I love you ”

Appraise Love (Wb Pirates x Reader fanfic) Chapter 1
Ohhh, look at me posting another chapter for this! Somehow, this is something I took better to in comparison to my cat story (go figure, lol.) Anyways, a couple of things to know going into this chapter: 1. The customer name 'Badeaux' actually translates to the Occitan meaning of 'stupid' and 'gullible'. This was on purpose, lol. 2. I head canon Rakuyo to have heavy Arabic/Egyptian and German influence, and Juzo to have more Hispanic/ Mexican influence. (Rakuyo's uses a flail. They were used frequently in Germany and Egypt, and his attire for some reason reminds me of a lot of the colors used during Egypt. Not to mention some of their clothes were more loose fitting/flowy. In Juzo's canon information (or the wiki on him), it's actually mentioned that his armor is inspired by Aztec warriors or at least closely resembles them, hence the Hispanic head canon.) 3. In One Piece, Buccaneers have been confirmed as a race.(at least from what I've found, This might change with more of the research I do into this project, lol.) HOWEVER, while they have been confirmed, I do believe that there are/ were two people confirmed to be buccaneers, and Whitebeard had been one of them. Ok, I think that about covers it for the head canons/ information I did research on for this chapter. I think all of the gemstone information is also correct. (If it's not and you're a huge nerd that's a lot more savvy in this than I am, please tell me so I can correct it-)
For Chapter 0: please go here! ____________ Word Count: 3575 ____________ ‘Snap. Snap. Snap.’ The crude hand that had waved in front of your vacant gaze had been going for a while now. It was only when the snapping started that your mind had even returned to reality in the first place. A little disappointed that you were ripped from the wandering adventure your thoughts were leading you on to get away from the suffocating gloominess within the shop, your gaze finally focused on the person in front of you. Well, you tried to, anyway. Still trying to tie your imagination back to where you were anchored in the world, you remained silently transfixed on the man before you. He was alone, that much was for sure, yet the shop wasn’t occupied by just him. Just outside your field of vision, there were three others there. By their stature, you figure the three were also me. Odd, given that this ‘was’ a jewelry place. More men had seemed to come through on days in comparison to women.
Ah, but you couldn’t afford the luxury to note all of your customers at the moment, for the man standing at the counter seemed to grow more and more restless.
“Hellloooo? Anyone home?” His words came out as sharp, though they were hollow. Most of the customer’s anger usually was. Staring blankly at the man for a moment longer only seemed to irritate him much further than he already had been.
“Are you going to help me, or do I need to report this to your boss?” The idea of the man waiting outside of the boss’s door for days had seemed amusing, and you were almost tempted to test that. But alas, that wasn’t going to do your own bills any favors.
“Apologies, sir.” You started in. “I was just distracted.” Despite the upfront bitterness the man had shown you, your tone remained friendly and inviting. Even if you felt like snapping back at the man, you always reminded yourself of the ‘one’ helpful piece of advice that your boss had told you: you catch more flies with honey than you do vinegar. Even with the kindness you displayed, the guy had only crossed his arms, his scowl deepening.
“Mhmm, I’m sure.” Sarcasm was what he had retorted with. Greeaatttt, he seemed like he was going to make this a pleasant transaction. You took the moment to look the man over. He did seem like trouble. Well, he certainly dressed like it. A lilac colored dress shirt tucked neatly into a pair of white slacks was held together by a gaudy black belt. The golden buckle itself seemed bigger than anything he could offer, but there again most men that waltzed in dressed to the nines never could offer much fulfillment outside of being a sugar daddy for most women. You couldn’t see exactly what kind of shoes he wore from behind the counter, but did it really matter? The rest of the outfit was enough to tell you he came from the ritzy part of town. Unfortunately for you, that also meant that he was going to be a difficult customer. Usually people from the nicer end of town always came in trying to swindle the shop- as if they needed more money than they already had.
Truth be known, if it weren’t for the other people in the shop, you’d have turned the man away right then and there, all it would’ve taken was a simple excuse of ‘we’re closing for break’ or ‘come back later, I have a meeting with the boss to attend to’. But no. The shop just HAD to be busy at that very moment. Taking what little energy you had mentally stored away for tougher customers, you finally decided to move the transaction along.
“How may I be of assistance today?” Your tone remained chipper, a smile starting to form. It didn’t seem to be enough to waver the man’s bitterness, for he simply scoffed. Reaching into the pocket of his pants, the man was quick to slam the item down on the counter. You had internally winced at the noise, praying he hadn’t cracked the glass counter since it’d most likely come out of your check- especially since the boss was famous for that trick, taking from your supposed ‘pay balance’ when ‘things happened on your shift’. Thankfully when he drew his hand back, the counter had been saved. Atop it sat a ring. A gorgeous one at that.
“This.” His tone was blunt, the sharp edge still prominent in his voice.
“Ok…” You started yet again, your smile still remaining as you carefully moved your hand to gently pick up the ring.
“What is it you’re looking to do with this today?” Briefly looking up to him, you focused back on the piece of jewelry itself.
“I want you to take it back and give me a refund.” He snapped, his arms crossing. His patience had begun to run thin. As it had been said before, the ring was gorgeous. And as much as you’d have loved to give the man money back on the ring…you couldn’t. Unlike the rest of the jewelry in the shop, this ring was unique. The ring itself had a slimmer bezel. It wasn’t anything fancy. But with the color of gold the bezel was, you were certain that it was top of the line. Yet, what was the most breathtaking part was the stone that was in the center of it all. An apatite. Against the teal of the stone, the gold had stood out but not taken the attention from the gem itself. And that was exactly the problem.
“I see…” Your voice seemed uncertain. There was a small voice in the back of your head saying that this was an opportunity to get a piece of jewelry such as this, that buying it and selling it for more could’ve very well have saved the place from going under for another month or so, but the facts stood before you. After gently placing the ring back on the counter, you returned your attention back to the bitter man.
“I’m afraid sir, we can’t accept this back as is. Unless we have a record of your receipt on file, we can’t take this back.” The man had seemed as if you were threatening to take his first born.
“And why, pray tell, is that?” His snippy tone seemed to only reflect the anger he was trying to keep under wraps.
“Well, for starters, we don’t sell jewelry with Apatite.”
“And why the hell not?! It’s a ring, is it not?” Snapping at you, all you could do was allow a soft sigh to escape you. Oh, how you wished you could’ve chewed this man up and spit him back out, but keeping your cool, you only carried on.
“I understand your frustration, sir. But we cannot accept jewelry back that we did not sell. This bezel is clearly made up of a higher gold concentration than we offer here, as well as the gem itself. Due to how fragile Apatite is, and due to how costly it can get trying to remake certain pieces that shatter and crack during the sculpting process, we do not sell nor buy jewelry including it.”
“That isn’t fair! I bought this ring from you people fair and square!” The man’s persistence might've been admirable, even for a scam, but even so, the only thing it was doing was grating your last nerve.
“If you insist you have, I can at least check our receipt logs…What’s the last name?” Briefly turning your back to the counter, you moved to dive beneath the counters for the crates of alphabetized files.
“It’s Badeaux.” As sharp as ever, he kept glowering at your actions while his own patience began to run thinner than before. After a moment of looking through the B fields, you had resurfaced once more.
“I’m sorry, sir. But we don’t have a file for you on hand. If you’d like, I do have some of the local island’s jewelers on file, so I can ring some of-”
“This is utter bullshit!” He spat at you, slamming his fist down on the counter.
“I understand your frustrations sir, but please-”
“Screw this, it ain’t even worth the money anymore. Just take it and choke on it for all I care!” The loud ‘clank’ that broke the ‘mostly’ serene silence of the shop had been from the ring making contact with the safety glasses you wore. As tacky and bulky as they were, you were grateful for them just then. The man had turned on his heel, letting the door slam on his way out. Once more, you couldn’t help the sigh that had escaped you.
“I swear, this job isn’t worth what I get paid on days.” The thought had escaped you with no filter, though did it really matter? No one else was around.
“Oh, I bet.” The voice of reason mused back. Allowing the comfortable smile to return, you simply decided to take a moment from-
Wait a minute…you didn’t have a voice of reason. Well, you did, just not one that talked back so…well…vividly. Just as the smile dropped, your gaze casually turned to the side. Upon first glance, you found yourself staring back at a pair of partially lidded eyes. It was only then that you realized.
“Ah, sorry sir! How, uhm, may I help you?” After quickly standing up straight and feeling a bit embarrassed over the remark shared aloud, it was only then you had remembered the other three men that had been perusing the different counters in the shop. In response, the man let out a light hearted chuckle. He held his hands up in a mock defense, the gesture seeming to do wonders to pacify the sudden embarrassment and anxious atmosphere.
“Whoa, whoa, cool it, Sparky. We’re not here to cause any problems.” His voice was gentle, soothing almost. The way he spoke seemed to hide no ulterior motive. That was good at least. To be quite frank, it was hard to believe that the group was there for anything other than genuine interest in the shop. Perhaps they were adventurers?
“We just had some questions, that’s all.” As the man spoke, you took note of his attire. Much like the last man, this one also had a purple shirt. Though unlike the first, he had been worn in a more casual manner. The way he kept it unbuttoned exposed the tattoo that embellished his chest and the muscles he had. Around his waist was a blue sash, along with a decorative belt that- somehow- topped the last man’s. From what you could tell, it seemed like he was wearing blue jeans of some kind, though again, from where you stood, you couldn’t quite tell if that was the case or not. Atop his head was a tuft of messy blond hair. To you, it did look a bit comical since no one really had come through with such a hairstyle before, but you must’ve figured the poor guy probably got enough trash talk for it. All in all, he had a much more laid back nature about him, something you couldn’t quite place, but something that seemed to be trustworthy for the time being.
Taking a moment to glance at the other two over his shoulder, You made note of the other two. One was a far burlier looking man, his frame towered the other two easily. A much more tan complexion had adorned him, the shade of red that the armor plates he wore seemed to pop more against him. From where he was, his back had been to you, so very little was able to be made out on his face. However, you could tell from just his stature alone that he was definitely not someone to be messed with. The other seemed a lot more enthused about the different pieces of jewelry within the cases. His back had also been to you, but what little you could make out from him was the messy blond locks he wore in dreads, as well as the cream colored jacket. Though, it did look more yellow than white.
In a way, you felt a little bad for the more excited man out of the two. All there were beneath the glass casings were boxes of different rings bunched together. Maybe before they left, you could at least pull them out of the casing and let him rummage through them? It wasn’t like your boss would care so long as none of them had gone missing. For now, though, they were here for genuine business, so suggesting the idea was off the table for now. Returning your attention to the first shaggier man of the trio, you recomposed yourself from the startle he gave you.
“Very well. What is it you’re looking for help with today?” Asking the question, the man had seemed a little stumped. ‘Please don’t be trying to rob the place…please don’t be trying to rob the place.’ The thought crossed your mind as the man stalled in giving his response.
“Well, it’s a bit…complicated.” He started in. He took note of the way you watched him before taking a step back.
“My bad, didn’t mean to make you feel uncomfortable.” He reassured, his tone remaining insouciant. Oddly enough, you couldn’t help but take his word. Clearing his throat, he briefly turned to look over his shoulder at the other two.
“I myself am not very savvy with these kinds of things. But Rakuyo over there…” Speaking the last of his words loud enough for the other two to hear, the more eccentric man had quickly turned his head towards the two of you. Motioning the other over, the blond allowed a casual smile to form.
“I’ll let you talk to him, you’ll get a lot further since he’s more adverse in what we’re looking for.” With the blond taking a step back, the man- who you presumed was Rakuyo- stepped forward in his place. A bright smile adorned his features. Despite his energy, the laid back atmosphere of the interaction had remained.
“Hey, Shug.” The man replied. Though the nickname had already had you turning your nose up, something told you that was just something he called most women. At least it didn’t seem like he was trying to hit on you. With a simple ‘hello’ in return, you refocused your attention back to the conversation at hand.
“So, your friend here tells me that you’re more equipped with what it is you three are in for today?” You started in, your tone remaining as friendly as before. Earning a chuckle in response, the man nodded.
“I suppose that’s true to an extent.” Remaining light-hearted in the exchanged banter, the man continued.
“We were actually in to see if there would be any way you could resize or replicate a ring to request.” He started in. It took a moment for you to actually regroup yourself. It was a bit shocking, actually. For the first time in months, someone was GENUINELY INTERESTED in requesting service. Quickly gathering your wits, you had finally nodded.
“O-of course we do! Though we cannot offer a free resizing service with rings not sold here, we still can, depending on the condition of the ring itself. Pricing would mostly rely on the gemstones preferred for the ring.” The man had listened to your explanation, his features seeming to light up.
“Really? Well then, that answered quite a bit.” He mused, his words sounding as though they were mostly directed towards himself. When he refocused on you once more, his smile seemed to grow.
“I suppose that leaves us with a couple other questions, Hun.” For once, you could feel the corner of your lips tug upwards in a more genuine smile the more the conversation progressed. The three men had, for once, not been thugs- which was surprising given the same symbol they all adorned on different parts of themselves. You could’ve sworn you had seen it somewhere before, but remembering  where had eluded you. The conversation had gone from asking about the gemstones local to the island to the rarity and cost of others that were hard to get. At the end of the day, their request hadn’t seemed that complex. It was nothing more than a simple thicker bezel for a man with a single holder for garnet embedded into the ring itself. At the end of the day, it wasn’t something that would cost any of the three of them a fortune, outside of the third man who had remained in the back, neither of the two you spoke to seemed like they would’ve had a larger ring size. If you dared say, you didn’t think making it would’ve broken the bank for the third man either.
“Right then, I’ll be sure to put the order down and get the supplies ordered for you then.” You chimed. Rummaging through the boxes behind the counter, you pulled out a small notepad. On each page seemed to be an order ticket of sorts. As you began to work away at writing down all of the order information, you carried on with the conversation.
“I think I have just about everything here I need. I’m only missing the ring size.” The question had only earned an awkward silence from the three. Rakuyo was the first to pipe up after being unable to take the silence.
“Well, if you don’t mind me asking. What…sizes do you go up to?” Briefly stopping your scribbling, your gaze had turned up to look at him. When he had seemed a bit nervous in the manner, you turned to the other two. The first had seemed just as nervous, even the bigger gut out of the three seemed to have some pause in his stoic demeanor. Oh, they were serious. Standing up right once more, you started with another explanation.
“Well, at the moment we can only make up to a size 15. However, we can make additional sizes to accommodate different groups, such as giants and other larger groups. Most requests like this are done upon request, but the problem with them is that they may take a bit more time outside of the usual week. Would you happen to know the ring size off the top of your head?” Looking between the three men, each of them had seemed baffled for an answer. Taking that as a ‘no’, you ducked back under the desk to rummage around for a simple stack of papers.
“That’s alright if you’re unsure. We do have different sizing for each kind of person.” You started in. Pointing to the first set of sizes, you kept your focus on the page.
“These ones are mostly for humans. Don’t mind any of these numbers, it’s just for us back here to know what the bezel width would be. Over in this column,” Your finger circles the furthest set of numbers to the right, “is what you’d need to know. Down here are for Fishmen. Again, You don’t have to worry about any of these, this just tells us where we’d need to cut the bezel in order to assure it causes its owner any discomfort against the webbing in their hands./ Most mermaids and mermen do fall within human measurements, but there are a few that do have occasional sizing outs-”
“I don’t mean to be rude and cut you short, but why do the numbers have such a significant jump between these two groups?” The first man had piped up, pointing to a spot in which the whole section had been scribbled out.
“Ah, that.” You simply stated.
“Well, that was the sizing for buccaneers, but unfortunately, they haven’t been around in years. Most of the tools that we have for them aren’t kept on location. We still have them, of course, for the few odd folk that do have sizes that fall in that range, but that…would…” When your gaze had turned to look up at the three, each of them had seemed as though they had just witnessed a miracle. Raising a brow a bit, you kept your gaze flickering between the three of them.
“Is something the matter?” After you spoke, the peppier man had placed his hands on the counter, leaning over a bit.
“Do you realize what you’ve just done?!” He spoke. Taking a few steps back, you watched the man’s shock quickly contort into a wide grin.
“M…my job?” You spoke, uncertainty prominent in your tone.
“Well, yes, but no.” He finished, allowing him to place his feet back on the ground.
“Ma’am, you don’t realize just how long we’ve been looking for someone that has the equipment to make a ring for a buccaneer.” For the first time, the third man finally spoke. Your mouth had opened to speak, but you found the words stalling in your throat.
“...I beg your pardon?” The words had left unfiltered. Baffled by their wording, you figured that maybe they were simply just stating that whoever the ring was for was just unlucky enough to have sizing that fell within the buccaneer range. Yet, something told you that wasn’t the case.
Surely, it was just a misfortune, right? I mean…buccaneers had been extinct at this point…hadn’t they?

Little Bits of Valentine's.
A small series featuring little stories including either OP/JJk characters.
Summary: A lazy morning with your Significant Other. A little spicy, Teen and up.
Gender Neutral reader, though mentions of princess as a pet name.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's definitely morning, you think. Sun shining across your face. Nose scrunching in distaste. You roll over, hoping to go back to sleep. Bumping into your boyfriend. Which is unusual, Marco always rises before the sun.
Blinking awake, rubbing your blurry eyes. The sight before you is delightful. Your boyfriend naked. His broad chest moving softly. Midnight blue tattoo spread across his pecs and down. Just like the red marks from the night before. You want to kiss them as an apology.
Gaze moving lower. Admiring his defined muscles, he exuded strength. Your eyes following the light trail of hair below his belly button. View cut short by the sheet draping across his hips. Taunting you with what could have been.
“Sunshine yoi, you can admire with your hands.” Marco says, voice gruff with sleep.
Tumblr media
“Hey,” he whispers sleepily, pulling you closer.
“Hi,” you reply just as quietly. Before leaning up for a soft kiss. He pouts as you pull away. Following you for another kiss. But you feel like teasing your firefly. So you continue to evade his affections. Giggling as he pouts further. Your hands trailing down his bare chest, blunt nails caressing his nipples.
He whines and his hand gentle tangles in your hair. Holding you still. His lips meeting yours in a hot caress. Sucking on your bottom lip before his tongue is exploring your mouth. You whine as oxygen becomes scarce.
He pulls back but not far, letting you breathe. He kisses your swollen lips again. Flipping you over in the process. Keeping most of his weight on his arms. His mouth leaves yours. Trailing hickeys across your neck.
Before he suddenly feels very heavy on top of you. Like a warm weighted blanket. Hearing his loud snores. You roll your eyes. Hands going to his shaggy hair. You start braiding.
Tumblr media
You feel a slight tickle on your thigh. Rousing you from sleep. Big rough fingers gliding up the back of your leg. Drifting under your top. Before gliding back down.
Making a sleepy noise and nuzzling against Jozu's chest. “Oh, did I wake you? Princess.” You nod as he continues his teasing. Hand slipping under your top. Delicately brushing up your leg and then over your ass. Before going back down.
You're too lazy to move from your comfortable spot. So you kiss his warm skin. Sucking lightly as he brushes your ass again. “Does my princess like that?” he asks, grabbing a handful of your cheek before releasing it just as quick.
Whining as he returns to teasing you. Nipping at him in disapproval. “Now, now, no need for that.” He laughs, not at all hurt by your use of violence.
You groan, frowning at his light touches. Lifting your head to sleepily glare at him. He chuckles at your pout. “What do you want, princess?”
Tumblr media
“Marshmallow, time to get up.” Thatch sings. You huff, rolling over. Snuggling into the warm blankets.
He laughs. Putting the tray down on the bedside table. Before climbing into bed. Manhandling your sleepy form onto his lap. Kissing your forehead. While you rest your head on his shoulder. Planning to go back to sleep. “Come on, mallow, I brought food.”
“Food?” you ask, one eye opening to check. Catching sight of the covered tray. Interest peaking as you rise. “Mm hmm.” He hums, “wanna have breakfast in bed?” He asks. His hand skimming up your side. You nod, rubbing the sleep from your eyes. Before stretching up to kiss his jaw, stubble rough on your cheek.
You try to reach for the tray. But you're short. His fingers tracing down your spine as you stretch. “Need help?” You turn to glare at him, he laughs. Squeezing your hip before his hand trails over your side. His strong arm wrapping under you and lifting you back onto his lap. Kissing your temple as he reaches for the tray. A smug smile on his face since it's easy for his lanky arms.
He sets the tray in front of you. Before lifting the cover. Sweetness wafting in the air. Your stomach grumbling at the sight of the feast. Cinnamon rolls decorated with icing. Small cardamom buns twisting intricately in on themselves. Thatch is the best chef you know. But what makes your mouth water the most is the fresh fruit. A hard thing to come by on the open sea. Plump strawberries, rotund blueberries, luscious peach slices and juicy mandarin segments.
He smiles, picking up a slice of peach. The yellow flesh glistening with sweet juice. Feeding you the slice. Juice bursting in your mouth. Splashing against his thumb. You mindlessly lick up the mess. He stares down at you. Wicked thoughts filling his head. But they could wait until you were fed.
Tumblr media
He feels the blankets move and the mattress dip slightly. Waking instantly, you give him a sheepish smile. “Sorry, honey.”
“ It's fine. Where were you?” He asks. Pulling you against his chest.
“I got you a surprise.” You smile brightly, handing him the gift. A small tube that he opens.
Frowning slightly. “ It's a pretty colour, sweet pea, but I think it'll look better on you.”
“I know.” You say with a deviously innocent smile. He seems to catch your drift.

Thank you for reading. Hope you enjoyed. Stay tuned for part 2.💖

Blue Balls - Ace: Part 1
Tumblr media
Summary: Ace ends up with a case of blue balls; text below the cut
Pairing: Portgas D. Ace x Afab!Reader
Genre: smut
CW: oral sex (Ace receiving), dirty talk
Word Count: 1,001
———
Ace rubbed his hand up and down his muscular chest, trailing it down his abdomen where it met yours. His fingers tangled with yours, and he found himself conflicted: he wanted to grab your hand and use it to pull you to your feet so he could kiss you some more, but he also wanted you to stay on your knees in front of him, eager for his cock in your watering mouth.
He stood with his legs apart, that big cock of his in his other hand, while you looked up at him with your precious doe eyes and licked your lips, swollen from the sloppy, heated kisses the two of you had shared.
You bore more evidence of those kisses on your neck, red and irritated from his tongue and teeth. At the sight of those marks, and with a perfect view of your cleavage in your pretty bra, his cock twitched in his hand. Did he want to cum on that cleavage, or did he want to cum in your mouth? You always told him he could cum anywhere he wanted, leaving him with paralysis of choice. He told himself he didn’t have to decide yet, that he had the entire night to choose.
“Finally got you alone,” he muttered. He’d barely made it through dinner, and he’d almost challenged Jozu to a duel for making a joke about you that was clearly goodnatured and you’d laughed at; Ace was too tightly wound that night to see the humor in it.
Before you, he’d been perfectly capable of getting himself off. Now, he needed your lips around his cock or his cock in your pussy or at least his tongue on your clit twice a day to feel like himself.
Golden pussy, Marco called it.
Ace had punched him for daring refer to your pussy, even if to compliment it, but he knew his brother was right.
You smiled up at him, untangling your fingers from his to keep rubbing his lower stomach, the muscles tight and rigid beneath your touch. With your other hand, you grabbed his calf, massaging his leg muscles. You placed a few sweet kisses against his inner thigh, nuzzling your soft cheek against him like he wasn’t one of the most dangerous, most notorious pirates in the world, like he wasn’t some sort of terrifying monster.
The intimacy made Ace want to explode into a ball of flames, but he knew he had to keep his body temperature down for your sake.
He let out a low breath, stroking your hair again.
“You’re so fucking hot,” he said in that low voice of his. It did all sorts of things to you, the masculine tenor of it. It reverberated through your body, and you pressed your thighs together in hopes of finding some relief.
You could feel the cream in your panties. It happened more often than not around Ace.
Ace thumbed the tip of his cock, spreading the pre cum around.
“Easy, tiger,” you said with a smile. “That’s my job.”
He groaned at the sound of your nickname for him, and then he groaned again when you took his cock out of his hand and held it in both of yours. It looked so much bigger when you held it, seemed so much heavier. And yet, he felt lighter, knowing full well you’d take his full load in your mouth- or on your tits- and relieve all that tension he’d been carrying around with him.
“That’s it,” he said. He gathered your hair in his hands to keep it out of your face as you leaned in to kiss the tip. When you licked and sucked, he went crazy, but it was your kisses on his throbbing cock and balls that made him feel special- important, even. His chest swelled as you kissed down his length. “That’s a good girl.”
“I swear it’s harder than usual,” you said against him. “I can tell how much you need it.”
“I really do need it,” he agreed.
“I’ve got you, tiger.” You placed sweet kisses on his heavy balls.
Ace groaned again. He couldn’t help but push his hips forward, earning a giggle from your lips before they closed around his balls. He tightened his grip on your hair.
You sucked lightly, well aware how sensitive he was. After a few seconds, you released them with a loud pop. You gave them a few more sweet licks, and Ace moaned.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.
“It’s me,” came Thatch’s voice. “I need you on deck.”
“I’m busy, Thatch.” Ace looked back over his shoulder and stared daggers at the door, but his expression quickly morphed into one of relief and pleasure when you dragged your tongue up his shaft and took the head of his cock into your warm mouth. It was all he could do to keep from moaning your name.
“Actually, I need y/n for something. And don’t bother claiming she’s not in there. I could hear you moaning all the way down the hall.”
You sat back on your heels and wiped your lips. “I’m coming, Thatch.”
“Be quick about it.” With that, his footsteps faded.
You pouted up at Ace and picked your shirt up off the floor. “Sorry, tiger.”
Ace groaned, this time from frustration rather than pleasure. His mind was hazy, and he could barely string together a coherent thought.
“What could they possibly need you for?”
“I’m sure it’ll be quick,” you said, rising to your feet and stepping into your shorts. You buttoned and zipped them before standing up on your toes to press a lingering kiss to Ace’s lips. “I won’t be long.”
“You better not be.” He palmed his cock, but it brought him little relief. “I need you for something too, y/n.”

What if (Portgas D. Ace X Reader)
Tumblr media
I made a big long post talking about how just a simple little phrase affects my everyday life. So I'm going to start putting it to use and maybe doing a 'what if' series for my favorite characters from One Piece. Like I said in the post all of this writing is for my own comfort, but I'm posting it in case someone like me who spends all their time reading fan fiction wants something to read.
Synopsis: Ace lives after Marineford but has to deal with the deaths of people on the crew dying. His best friend and partner is there to comfort him when he feels responsible.
Additional stuff: Hurt/Comfort and Fluff
Potential Trigger Warnings and other mentions: Mentions of Death, Spoilers for Marineford Arc, Grieving, Strong Language, Bathing/Washing
Word count: 2.5K
Pairing: Portgas D. Ace X GN! Reader
"Ace?" You call out as you walk into his cabin. It's been almost three weeks since Marineford and the deaths of your captain, Whitebeard, and so many other good people on your crew. Ace hasn't stepped out of his cabin since. Marco has had to go in to even change his bandages.
"What?" He snaps as he turns his head toward you at the door. He looks like a total mess. His hair looks like a rat's nest, his face puffy and red from crying, and he just looks completely miserable.
"Brought you some food." You motion to the tray of food in your hand. Ace never turns down a good meal. You walk over to his bed and sit down on the edge of it. He doesn't meet your gaze as you get a better look at him. His cheeks are gaunt and pale. The color and life you've grown accustomed to in them are gone. He looks to be a shell of his former self.
"Don't really want to eat right now, partner. Thanks, though." He sighs. You set the tray down on the blanket adjacent to him and scoot closer to his side. He barely even glances up as you move. Once you're completely side by side next to him, you make a point not to look at him.
"Ace. Talk to me. I really can't stand seeing you like this. It's not like you whatsoever." You tell him, blindly reaching to grab his hand and hold it in your own for reassurance. He mumbles something entirely incoherent. "What? I didn't hear you?" You question.
"I said it's my fault! It's all my fault! If I hadn't been set to be executed, then no one would have gotten hurt! No one would've died! Pops would still be here!" He cries out. Ace has always held himself to a much higher standard than anyone else, thinking he has to work hard for people's love and approval.
"Ace.... What happened, it wasn't your fault. Everyone there knew the risks that were included to get you back; we didn't care. We chose to risk our lives because we wanted to save you. End of story." You tell him. "Tell me. If it was Marco on the chopping block or Jozu or even Whitebeard himself, would you have wanted to leave them?" You ask him with a pout.
"That's completely different, and you know it." He scowls as he speaks. His arms going up to cross over his chest in a huff. He's glaring at the side of your head as you continue to face forwards.
"How is it different?" You interrogate. "I don't see a difference. In fact, it makes total sense. You're the second division commander, Ace. That's not a title to let go of lightly. You're a high-ranking officer in the crew." You state, he scoffs as you bring up his rank. "You're also our family, Ace. Pops called you his son; that's not something to forget either. You're also my best friend in this whole world." You admit.
"So many people died. So many good crewmates, including our captain. I'm not worth all of that." He winces. When you finally look over at him again, you see tears forming in his eyes. Ever the caring best friend, you lift your hand and cup his face in your palm.
"You think you get to decide that? The people who fought to save your life decided what you were worth, and it was a whole damn lot." You grin at him. "So are you going to tell them they're wrong? Going to sit here and rot in your bed when people sacrificed themselves to see you continue to live and to thrive? I don't think that's very grateful at all, Ace." You explain as you caress his cheek with your thumb. "Make 'em proud, Ace. I know you have it in you." You voice your opinion on him out loud to break through to him.
"It's not that easy." He proclaims. "I still feel like shit for getting put on the chopping block in the first place. I'm not just going to magically feel better about myself. They're still gone. Not coming back." He explains with an exasperated sigh, his hands on his chest, falling to his lap.
"I didn't expect you to magically feel better, Ace. No pretty words can fix every feeling you have in an instant. You've got to work for it. Work to feel better and to learn to cope properly. But hoarding yourself away in your room and wasting away isn't the move." You profess. "Ace, it's going to take time. I know that; you know that. But you don't have to go through this alone. I'm right by your side." You tell him. Your other free hand goes to the other side of his face to force him to look you in the eyes.
"What if I can't do it? What if I can't move on from this? You'd be wasting your time on a lost cause, partner." He looks so vulnerable as some of the tears start to fall down his freckled cheeks.
As your thumb comes up to wipe the tears off his cheeks, you reply with a whispered tone. "What if you can, Ace?" He looks shocked. "What if you can move on from it? What if you prove Pops and everyone else right? What if you continue to live and make them all proud? Did you ever think of that?" You question. Tears are streaming down his face at a constant rate now as he takes in your words.
Before he can fully gather his thoughts and respond, you move your hands from his face and wrap around his torso and pull him into a hug. He so obviously needed one. "Besides, you've still got Luffy to watch out for. Can't have you stuck in bed for the rest of your life. He needs his big brother." You laugh lightly as you hold him against you. He doesn't even try to respond as he soaks your shirt in tears.
"You've got your whole life ahead of you, Ace. So many people who wanted to see what amazing things you can accomplish. It's worth a try. I mean, really, what have you got to lose?" You hum as you hold him, rubbing soothing circles into the skin on his back. Running your hands up and down his Jolly Roger tattoo. "I'm sure Pops is waiting in the afterlife to see what great things you'll achieve." You announce with a smile on your face.
He nods against you as his sobs get louder. You can tell he just needed to let this all out. He's been bottling this up for weeks now. As you sit there and hold him, you begin to hum soft sea shanties to calm him. His sobs quiet into soft cries and then go silent, but he doesn't move against you. When you look down, you realize Ace has fallen asleep against you. You can't tell if it's his narcolepsy that knocked him out or if it's just been a long time since he's slept. Just the state of him lets you know how rough he's been on himself after everything.
As you hold him, you begin to think it's more of the latter. You maneuver the two of you down on the bed and cover you both up, careful of the food you brought in. He's sleeping soundly pressed up against you, though he's lying completely limp. You decide to watch over him for the next few hours, foregoing your own sleep to make sure he gets peaceful rest.
It's going to take a long time for him to fully recover and be back to his old self, but with you there by his side, you're sure everything will work out. You won't let your best friend stay in this hole forever. No way, no how.
After about nine or so hours of him sleeping, he wakes up to the sun rising through his porthole window. He looks groggy as he wakes up, blinking like he's confused about what he's cuddled up to. "Good morning, Ace." You say in a teasing tone. "Someone cried himself to sleep in my arms last night. You must have been exhausted." You giggle. His face turns red as he averts his eyes from your gaze.
"Come on. I'm not letting you mope any longer." You tell him. "We're getting you a bath and taking you to Marco's office so he can change your bandages." You declare as you get out of the bed and grab his hands to drag him out with you. He groans as you pull him out but stands before he can fall onto the floor.
"Marco's left me the stuff here to change the bandages myself. Do I really have to go to his office?" He whines as he gets yanked further into the bathroom. As you let go of him and start to fill the tub up with warm water, you look up and see the state of his bandages.
"Have you even changed them once since he left the stuff?" You ask as you see how grimy they look. "It looks like you've laid down on the deck and rolled in the dirt everyone's tracked on." You comment. Once the water is filled up to an adequate level, you turn your attention to him completely. You begin to unravel all the bandages and see the damage that's left after this past month of healing.
Though his wounds look ten times better than when he first acquired them, there's still a long way to go until his physical health is back to its' peak. A lot longer to go for his mental health as well, that you know for sure. You try not to stare too long as you take in the yellow healing bruises, the large burns on his chest and back from Akainu's attacks, and the scrapes and cuts from some kind of sea stone weapons.
"Come on. Let's get undressed and take a bath together." You grin at him. He blushes a bright red but doesn't object. He sees you take off your clothes first and climb into the tub. "Hurry up and get in, Ace; you look like someone's dragged you through a puddle of mud." You motion for him to get in the bathtub in front of you. He sighs but follows your instructions. He quickly sheds his shorts and climbs in with you.
The water is already steaming warm, but just having Ace in with you seems to make it feel even hotter. As you grab the washcloth and begin to suds it up, Ace relaxes and leans back against you. He's completely boneless against you. You begin to clean him up at a slow pace so he can enjoy the feeling of being taken care of.
Starting with his face, then moving down to his neck and collarbones, and then continuing your trail down his body, cleaning off all the dirt and muck on him. As soon as you're done with his skin, you move onto his shaggy hair. Normally looking pretty greasy, you decide it's high time you clean it and get the knots out of it.
You have to start at the bottom and work your way up. Slowly going through each piece of his hair and working out the tangles with your finger, you know you're going to have to brush it when you get out to totally get the job done." Always had such greasy hair before, Ace. Wonder what it's going to look like shampooed and conditioned." You tease him lightly as you continue to lather his hair up thoroughly.
"Maybe if you shut up and kept working, we'd know quicker." He scoffs with a blush on his face. You can tell you embarrassed him there with your words. You continue your ministrations for a few more minutes until you know it's time to rinse it out. You grab the hand-held sprayer and hose him down, taking good care not to get any in his face. After he is rinsed, you begin the process all over again with the conditioner.
"Don't get feisty with me, Ace. I'll drown you like a wet dog with this thing." You threaten as you motion to the sprayer. He rolls his eyes and makes no motion to react. After a few minutes lathering his hair up again, you rinse him one more time. "Alright, hot shot. Get up. Going to have you dry off, and then I'll bandage you back up. Where's the stuff Marco left?" You quiz him.
"Should be on my dresser, near the door." He sighs and stands up and gets out to dry off. You quickly move out as well. Grabbing the towel and going out to grab the care package, while you're out there you grab him some underwear and soft sweatpants and borrow yourself some clothes as well. You quickly slip on the stolen clothes and make your way back to where he is waiting. He's leaning against the sink counter with a towel wrapped around his waist. You set Marco's supplies on said counter and quickly get to work applying burn cream and soothing ointments to the wounds that litter his skin.
Ace makes no motions of pain or any indications at all that you're even there. He's staring straight ahead into the wall as you begin to wrap him up in the bandages. "Hey, partner?" He speaks up in a soft tone. "What if I want to try? What if I want to get better, to not waste their sacrifice?" He gulps; his voice is quieter than usual, like he's scared of your reaction.
"Then I'll be right here to support you every step of the way, Ace. Simple as that." You tell him as you tie up the bandages that are wrapped around him. As soon as you're done and stand back up straight, you're wrapped in a strong hug and caught up in a kiss. The hug was something you'd come to expect from Ace, but the kiss was new. It was filled with love and passion as you began to kiss him back.
He pulls back first, breathless. "Thank you." He whispers out against your lips. "For always standing by my side. I know I'm a lot to handle. Luffy got that after me. But you've never once doubted me. It's going to be a long road ahead to get fully better, but I want to travel it with your help." He sniffles, tears pricking his eyes again as he leans back in to place another chaste kiss against your lips.
He's right; the road would be long to recover fully from the losses, the grief, and the guilt. However, there's no one better to walk through it with than with a partner by your side. Ace just lucked out and found the best partner in the world to help him. And you, well, you got him. The greatest partnership of all.

A Happy Family
Warning: Death, graphic, spoiler, sad ( part of my OC) Mention of Sex as well, language, slight yander, children, mention of suisisde... Just really sad
Master List
Ace x Thick Fem reader…
Y/N sat on the edge of the boat slowly drifting in and out of reality…
"Ace I love you," Y/N giggled happily, holding her boyfriend's hand tightly as they walked around the dark deck of the Mobey dick.
" Y/N, I love you too but Pops would kill me if he knew we were dating," Ace said looking down. [ Y/N Newgate Blood daughter of Edward Newgate - Whitebeard, Y/N has a devil fruit inspired by Xibalba and La Mureta. She uses dead bodies as Puppets… often as La Mureta to show her appreciation for them allowing her strength… Xibalba.. was a far darker force. She also might be one of the physically strongest on the ship, she is 19 years old and is a little thicker than most girls both in muscle and chub. She loves to fight and eat]
" When are you going to tell him," she whined turning towards Ace, pinning him to the railing. With a soft gasp, her sudden boldness caught him by surprise.
" L-later, I promise," he said blushing from the closeness as he slowly leaned into the girl, glancing at her lips before successfully capturing them. Lost in their own little world, they failed to notice the blue phoenix that flew through the air on watch.
Marco POV " and then they kissed," Marco said as the other commanders looked at him, following along with his heavily detailed story about what he had just witnessed the night before. Sitting around the table enjoying their breakfast
" No way, Pops is gonna kill him," Thatch said laughing.
" No kidding," Izo said also joining in.
" Do you think they did it?" Vista asked with a big smile.
" Did what?" Jozu asked taking a bite of bread.
" You mean the Nasty?!!" Marco gasped at the idea. Not particularly fawn at thinking about his adopted brother and sister in such a light. 'surly Ace was not that stupid'
" I did see Y/N walking funny earlier," Izo said with a wide smile. The others cackled at his implication.
"Let's go see," Thatch said standing up and walking towards Y/N's room.
" I don't know," Marco said hesitantly. What if they were doing it? What if Pops found out they were peaking on his daughter?
" Ace stop" A small whine was heard through the door, followed by the softest moan.
"Aww come on you know you love it" Ace's voice was deep and Husky. You could practically hear the sex off it.
" ARE THEY ACTUALLY" Izo whispered\yelled. Marco and Vista quickly smacked him upside the head to shut him up.
" Ace's noooo your hands are c-cold" They could hear the springs of the mattress shifting. "ah Ace yes~"
" That's it I'm leaving," Marco whispered as he started to walk away with the other commander not far behind him.
(Normal)
Ace ran his hands up Y/N's bare legs towards her stomach and to her chest. "See? I warmed them up for you, " he chuckled mischievously, lowering his head to lay gentle kisses up her bare neck. "Mmm. Princess," He gently inhaled, taking in her soft smell. As he shifted, pulling her closer again… both jumped at the booming voice of Whitebeard.
" Y/N Sweetie, come and have a drink with me"
" Shit" Ace whispered as he quickly moved to dress the two. Reaching for his shorts, throwing her shirt and jeans at her, to top it off he gently set his hat upon her lamp with her headband tied around it.
" Ah Ace, you're in here too perfect," WhiteBeard said as he opened the door, smiling at the sight of the two people he had been hunting for in the same spot.
" Papa! Sorry, Ace was asking about a battle formation," Y/N said pulling a paper with multiple drawings of stick figures all over it. " See," she said handing him the paper. Now each of them sat on different sides of the bed, acting as if it was a table. The large man smirked and glanced between the two.
" GAHHAHA" He laughed. Holding up the paper with a proud look on his face " This is why you are our stagiest," He said as he ducked under the door and strolled out " COME OUT WHEN YOU'RE DONE," Ace was flabbergasted as to where exactly she had pulled that out of…
" Where the hell did you pull that out of!?" Ace asked slowly getting up off the bed, gently picking up his hat, and handing the headband to her.
" I'm always prepared," Sticking her tongue out before running out of the room in her black jeans, sleeveless turtle-neck, and her signature headband securely tied around her head. Ace could only chuckle, watching as she dashed out leaving him to gather himself complete. He sat for a moment, staring at the floor… contemplating when the best time to confess to pops about what he's been doing.
" So Acey Boys fucking the princess?" Ace's head shot up only to meet with the eyes of a phoenix. His eyes widened ever so slightly, realizing he was so lost in thought he failed to hear the footsteps of Marco.
" Marco, w-what do you mean"
" We heard last night, all of it" This time it was Izo. Ace shifted his gaze to the new man.
"I-I"
" Remember boy you're just a guard and she'll be the queen," Vista said leaning against the door.
" I don't know what-" Ace started to protest but was cut off.
" Ace, Remember Not all stories end happily," Thatch said putting a hand on his shoulder.
" W-what are you talking about" Fed up with their constant interruptions, he clenched his fist, trying to understand why they were there.
" POPS IS GONNA KILL YOU" They all busted out laughing. Ace took a gulp of air and began to sweat. Realizing exactly why… he had been figured out… and he was so fucked…
Time Skip- 2 months
As the months moved, Y/n had been noticing soft changes in her body. She had gained weight, not nearly as much energy… and a strange sensation. So… she found Ace… and Marco… and an hour later… she found a positive pregnancy test.
(3 months later)
"Y/N my dear, why aren't you drinking?" Her father asked handing her a mug. She had been able to hide the facts so easily, having just come off a long mission not too long ago… but her bump was quite prominent, and coming up with excuses to not drink… was becoming harder.
" Sorry, Papa I'm not in the mood," she said gently setting her hand on her stomach. Subconsciously rubbing it in gentle circles to comfort herself. Now Newgate was a smart man so he knew something was off. He's had a feeling for a while now.
"Y/N, is there something you're not telling me? You love to drink" He asked looking down at the girl who was wearing a much baggier sweater than usual and hunched slightly over her midsection.
" Yes papa," she whispered. Growing tired of hiding… especially from her father.
" Would you like to talk about it?" He asked as he picked her up and set her on the arm of his chair. Removing the mug he had handed her, setting it off to the side and out of the way.
" I-I'm pregnant" She whispered. Not having the complete confidence to tell him… still unsure of his reaction.
" W-what was that?" He asked, he had heard her the first time… but just to allow the news to completely settle in.
" I'm Pregnant," she said louder, eyes closed tightly, lifting her shirt to reveal the small bump that had begun to show. It was barely noticeable through her natural chub… but if you knew Y/n… you could tell. Oh, and he could certainly tell. Staring at her for a moment. Eyes wide and mouth slightly a jar.
" Y-Y/n, I'M gonna be a GRANDPA?" he questioned a bright smile overtaking his face. Throwing his head back and cackling in laughter, practically shaking the ship. Staring up at the sky for a moment before refocusing on her, now a much softer and loving smile present.
" Yes Papa," she said smiling up at her father. He was so excited, I mean… a baby on a pirate ship… talk about unheard of.
" W-Wait before I get ahead of myself, who's is it?" She stiffened slightly. Knowing Ace had yet to tell him…Her silence concerned him… fearful that the child's real father would be absent… " Princess please tell me it's not some random man?" she quickly shook her head, slightly offended by his assumption.
" NO! No of course not Papa, It's one of the commanders," she said covering her face. Knowing she had just redirected the responsibility onto Ace… as well as the others who knew of her pregnancy.
" COMMANDERS" his voice boomed throughout the whole ship. Catching the attention of all, even Thatch who was tucked away in the kitchen… with a gut feeling telling him to hide.
" Yes Pops," they asked as they were all suddenly lined up in front of him. Some are sweating, others smirking… Ace in particular was sweating… Now don't question it. He was so excited… to think… someone like him could have so much… be given a girlfriend… now a child. No matter what happened right now… he was going to take full responsibility for her… his gift… his baby.
" My sweet daughter here has just informed me that she is holding one of your offspring.. so which one is it?" They all looked at each other. Studying their reactions and movements… trying to catch the culprit before he came out himself.
" IT'S ACE'S" "IT'S MINE" Slightly taken back by the number of voices, the others looked at each other. The answer having been lost in the shouts. "MINE! IT'S MINE" Ace quickly spoke again, raising his hand high, a proud smile on his face. He was so happy to finally say that out loud… even though Pops offered him a death glare in return. "I… We've been dating for a year now…" He smiled softly, turning his down to the ground to avoid the stare.
" Is he the farther Y/N?" He asked looking back to his daughter.
" Yes Papa," she said smiling. Glad to know that Ace was so proud of them… their relationship
" GAHAAGAGAHAGAHA" Pops laughed. " THEN WE SHOULD CELEBRATE" he yelled. " Ace my boy," he said looking down at him and lifting his drink in a toasting matter " Take care of her, She has some dangerous blood running through her and that child as well," he said handing Ace a Drink. "hehe now adding you into the bunch," Ace only nodded softly, a silent promise that he had already made long ago.
"Right"
Time Skip to Alabasta. (about a year later… maybe more)
Ace POV " This is my brother Ace." Luffy was parading Ace around like a trophy. "He's so strong, but I can beat him," he said with a large smile. Slinging his arm over Ace's shoulder, dragging him closer.
"As if." Shoving his head down. " I would like to apologize for causing any trouble", Ace bowed and apologized for anything that his brother had done while adventuring.
" Are you two really related" Nami asked, glancing between the two, seeing the resemblance but not quite convinced.
" Yep, well kinda," Tired from the journey Ace really didn't feel like explaining the whole Sake tradition. "You see-" he was quickly interrupted by the swordsman, his voice carrying from the crow's nest of the small ship.
" HEADS UP THERE'S A BOAT COMING THIS WAY!" Running over to the side to see who it was, Ace smiled at the sight. There riding in the Striker was his beautiful wife carrying his tinny 1-year-old son.
" It's ok I know her," She carefully pulled up close to the Going Marry, waving softly at Ace and the others. Quickly jumping from the boat Ace swiftly moved to help her. " Hi babe and baby," He said kissing the tops of both their heads.
" Dada!" Sabo giggled making grabby hands. He was quite good at speaking… Pops claimed it was because he technically had a bit of giant in him, much like Y/n did. Saying something like they develop faster or something.
" Hello, little man!" Ace smiled, gently taking him from Y/N's arms. "here let me," Picking her up as well before jumping back onto his brother's ship.
" You know I can fly right?" She asked with a raised brow but wrapped her arms around his neck regardless.
" I know but I still love carrying you" Landing back on the ship, the others stared to crowd the small family. Luffy specifically was infatuated with the woman and the little boy.
" Ace, Who is she?" Luffy asked running up to her, lapping around her. A slightly confused look on her face.
" Hello, I'm Portgas D Y/n!" She said holding her hand out. Smiling softly, Ace's description matched the boy perfectly.
" ACE YOU HAVE A SISTER!?" Luffy yelled. Not quite understanding the situation, causing Y/n and the others to chuckle.
" No, No, Luffy this is my Wife," Ace slightly facepalmed, but chuckled nonetheless.
" So she's like my sister now?" He asked looking her up and down lingering in places his eyes shouldn't, subconsciously of course! He had never seen a woman… be thick… yet so pretty. Alvida was ugly…until she turned skinny… Nami was skinny… Vivi… but she had a charm to her… a soft charm. One that even had Zoro doing a double take.
" Yep! And keep your grimy eyes off," Ace growled softly, shoving the younger boy's head sideways, tearing his gaze from Y/n.
" So you must be Luffy?" Ace watched as Y/N walked toward him. " It's nice to finally meet you" Pulling him into a huge hug which he gladly returned. " It's nice to meet all of you" Letting go and bowing to the others, Y/n couldn't hide the smile that graced her lips.
" Hello!" they all said, bowing back.
" I thought WhiteBeard had no females on his crew?" Zoro questioned, skeptically looking her up and down. He recognized her from her wanted poster… but always believed it was a typo.
" Yep! But I'm an exception," With a proud smile she pointed to her chest "See I'm his blood daughter!" The others, taken slightly aback by the news… Ussop and Chopper shaking softly at the news.
" Glade they're on our side," Ussop said under his breath. Hugging Chopper who also sighed in relief.
" And who's this little guy?" Nami asked while bending down to the small boy's level, a gentle smile on her lips.
" Ah! Sabo say hello," Y/N said pushing him forward. He was shy… always had been, but he was still brave in a strange aspect.
" H-hii" He stuttered before quickly waddling behind Y/N's legs to hide.
" Is he yours?" Sanji asked, chuckling softly at the boy's actions.
" Yep all mine," Ace smiled… enjoying his family all together for the first time. I watched as Y/N picked Sabo up and walked towards Luffy.
" This is your Uncle," She shifted Sabo allowing him to look at Luffy directly.
" Uncle!" Sabo giggled, reaching for the rubber man… "Love… you!" He hesitated, making sure he had the right words.
" Sabo huh?" Luffy allowed a sad smile to form… looking closely you could see the small tears forming. "I love ya too kid…" He chuckled, removing his straw hat before gently placing it on the boy's head. A near silent promise… that no matter what… he would protect him.
Another time Skip to War of Best.
Ace's POV (Don't usually do character perspective…. but for this just seemed necessary)
"So you really have a kid?" Jinbe asked. Adjusting his chains to what seemed a more comfortable position.
" Yeah and a beautiful wife, and so much more" I couldn't help but tear up. Thinking about her… Sabo… the life we could've had… If only I could have controlled myself. Listened to them, Pops, Maroc… Y/n… every damn second I can hear her pleading voice 'Ace… please… I know… I know but We need you! I need you! SABO NEEDS YOU' She sobbed that night… not even able to look me in the eyes as I dropped her off on that Island. I couldn't help it, I couldn't put her in that kind of danger… not her… not him. But yet, here I was in prison and I was about to leave my Wife all alone with my son permanently… And the last thing I told her was 'You don't understand'… Talk about an idiot. " I'm just happy she's ok," I said tears now streaming down my face.
I sat there softly crying, Jinbe only offering comforting words and a figurative shoulder to cry on… but then I heard footsteps… Heavy footsteps… assertive ones. Looking up… there he stood…Grandpa.
" Ace, I tried to help you," He spoke taking a seat. Glancing up at me and scoffing at my tears " M-man up and quit your crying," He said. The softest break in his voice caused him to stutter.
" Shut up old man, I-I" I couldn't finish my sentence, I took a breath, figuring it was useless to argue… settling on putting in my last request now. "Hey old man," I said softly, meeting his bloodshot eyes.
" What Brat?"
"There's a beautiful Woman out there who's most likely going to show up at some point please keep her safe," I said looking at him with pleading eyes. Watching as he sighed, moving his hand to rub his eyes.
" Is she a pirate?"
" Yes, but she's the mother to my child," God that hurt to say… to talk as if I'd never see her again. I couldn't stop them so I simply let the tears slide down my face. I wasn't scared to die no not at all… in fact ever since I was little… I believed I deserved it but… now I was scared to leave her and scared of what would happen to her. Then there's my son… god the minute they find him he would be killed… Slaughted on the spot for merely existing. " Old Man, My Son," I said laughing softly… practically begging at this point. " Please don't let them take him, or get near him" I took a soft breath " She will give her life for him but I'm afraid they will do anything for him, sigh with my blood and hers," He simply looked at me…
" Who's blood does she carry?" He asked as he started to stand, turning his back to me… looking at the exit.
" WhiteBeard's Himself," I said letting out a chuckle.
" Boy, you are asking a lot…" I could hear his lip quivering… and a soft sigh leaving his lips… "Why… Why did you have to go and get caught," A soft drip sounded as his tears landed on the floor. "DAMIT BOY WHY" He screamed… punching the floor and causing it to crack… "I will… I promise boy," He spoke, moving one foot in front of the other… walking towards the exit. "I… I promise… I won't let this government take anything else from you…Your life is more than enough,"
"Thank you," I smiled softly at his words… knowing at the very least… they would be fine. "For everything old man," I bowed as he disappeared from sight.
Time Skip Right before Ace's death
Y/N POV
I ducked, covering Luffy as we ran through the insanity of the war. I felt the earth shake… and watched with horror as the large cannon began to separate me from my dad.
" POPS" Marco and Vista yelled, stopping in their tracks to watch the man before them.
" WHY? PLEASE NO!" I was screaming as he separated us, forcing us to leave him " PAPA PLEASE… DON'T LEAVE US… DON'T LEAVE ME!" God, there was so much going on… we had Ace… we won… why couldn't we just leave… why couldn't I just have my happy ending…
"POPS NO!" Ace stood beside me trying to hold me back as I attempted to rush back to him. We could only watch, his body bloodied and broken… his white hair stained red… but yet… a proud smile on his face. Turning to look at his children… us… me.
" My children Before I go, tell me. Was I a good Farther?" he asked as a single tear ran down his face.
" YES PAPA! YOU WHERE THE BEST, DON'T EVER QUESTION IT" I yelled out to him. Knowing that… this would be the last time I'd hear him… his voice, his laugh… his smile… all of it was for the last time. I watched as his face contorted… his smile dropping… and his eyes… going blank… "PAPA!!!" I screamed, making a move to run but two strong arms stopped him. "Y/n… Y/n… you have a son to return to… please!" It was Marco… he held me tightly to my chest, trying to reason with me, "Sabo… needs you… so let's go… while we still can," I didn't want to… no, not my dad… my old man… leaving him here… it didn't feel right… but yet… I knew I had to.
"Right…"
"Tsk… what a pathetic excuse of a man," I halted at the comment… a harsh, deep, ridged voice spoke. Akainu stood, staring us down from a close distance… far too close for comfort. "To die… a Pirate… How hell bound is he…" Oh, he irked me… so much… but the thought of Sabo, being left with Rayleigh … not knowing why his mother never came back to him, sobered me up.
" SHUT UP YOU KNOW NOTHING OF HIM!" Ace roared at him, his voice booming with rage… fuck. I didn't have time to react. Not a word was said, nor was there a movement as Ace leaped, aiming right at Akainu. I watched in frozen horror, glancing around the battlefield in search of Luffy… find him… protect him… you promised him… was the only thing going through my head. Finding him a decent distance, I refocused on Ace going blow for blow with the Admiral. Blood flew, spit, punch after punch… Lava… Fire… it fused together oh so beautifully yet so terrifying all at the same time.
" ACE STOP!" I screamed trying to gain his attention… pull him away… anything. But… he continued on, landing a decent blow to Akainus's face, causing the man to stumble back slightly… allowing both a moment to refocus. I could see it… the way his eyes wandered to the weakest link on the front line… "LUFFY!" too late… too late… too late… I was… too late to notice, to react, to move, to… to stop him.
" FINE, I'LL JUST GO FOR YOU!" Akainu yelled as he made his way toward Luffy.
"NO!" Me and Ace yelled at the same time. Too late… too late… too late… far too late… I watched… in pure horror as Ace took the blow… not just any blow… no… a fatal one.
"A-ACEE" Luffy's voice was ear piercing… his scream… his horror…his sorrow… I ran… as fast as I could… watching… from what felt like a mile away.
"a-ACE" I screamed as he fell to the floor, " NO NO NO" I screamed running toward him. Finally, finally, I was making up ground… sliding to my keens next to Luffy, allowing the boy to fall onto my shoulder…
" Ace" Luffy whispered, his eyes rolling back, a scream etched onto his face while he passed out… sliding down my shoulder… into the bloodied ground…
"L-luf!" Before I could move to help… the gurgling of Ace… called for me.
" He-hey babe," He said softly coughing up blood. A stupid smile on his face… his eyes already droopy and face pailing fast. With gentle hands, I brought him to rest on my lap… watching as my tears dripped onto his face.
" A-Ace… No, please tell me you're ok," I said cleaning the blood from his lip. I knew he wasn't… but god did I wish he was… wish the blood was another stupid joke… wish this damn pool of blood was actually spilled juice… but unfortunately… it wasn't. There was no sweet scent to it… only bitter and iron… and the sounds weren't the crew laughing… no it was gunshots, screams… death. I glanced next to me Luffy was passed, his eyes white and mouth wide. " L-look what you did to him," I said chucking softly trying to lighten the mood. "scared him for life…"
"Y/N I -I'm sorry"
"For what? You have nothing to apologize for," I said letting the tears run free.
" I put a target on Sabo's back, with my blood," He said tears running as well. His goofy smile was replaced with a deep frown… taking a moment he coughed up more blood.
" Ace, love… any child I or you had was gonna be wanted from birth" I sighed as his breathing started too slow. I watched as the light became a little more dime in his eyes… Oh, what a time… to be in his final moments… and all he can think about is our son… God what a man. " I'm just happy that you're the father of my child" I lowered my head pressing a soft kiss to his lips. Tasting the iron from his blood… and salt from his sweat. Gently pulling away… just gazing down at his basically white face.
"Please Y/N, keep him safe," Ace said as the breath left his lips " And please follow Luffy… keep him safe" He gave a soft smile, lifting his head to kiss me, "mm and Find someone else to love… someone to hold you… care for you… love… you," his breath shuttered… lifting himself again to meet my lips… one… last… time. I smiled at the last kiss we would ever share, with my husband… with my soulmate… " Ace the love of my life I promise I will keep everyone safe but… I can't promise to find another," I couldn't bring myself to promise something like that… "I never said till death do us part…" I held his lips centimeters away from mine… "Because I refuse to separate after death… stuck with me for eternity"
"Thank… you… for loving me…" He coughed… blood spitting up… spilling onto my hair, face, clothes… everything… "Thank you… for… my greatest.." He huffed… trying to continue… fighting the darkness threatening to take him… "Gift… I-I… will find you again… I promise…promis…" I watched… as his eyes went dark… his stupid smile still resting on his face… his breathing stopping completely… My Ace… oh my Ace… was gone… but yet… I could only smile… knowing that in those seven seconds of his life flashing before his eyes… I was in there… and Sabo… Luffy, Pops… Garp… Thatch… Marco… and I'm sure… even Teach.
Narrators POV
"ACE" the crew screamed as he went limp. They watched… tearful… scared… making no movements as Y/n sat there… smiling but motionless with Ace still resting on her lap.
" Y/N!!" Marco yelled, deciding he couldn't leave his sister there alone any longer… Rushing over… he gently grabbed Luffy, quickly handing him over to Jinbe before turning back to her. "Y/n?" He softly spoke… tearing up at the sight in front of him… 'Ace…' His heart hurt… oh so badly… Thatch… Pops… now Ace… all ripped from his fingers. He was dragged out of his thoughts when the ground suddenly shook… stumbling away from her, the sheer Haki that was radiating off her was… terrifying.
"АНННННННН!" а scream of agony ripped from Her throat as if she had just been stabbed through the heart. It was ear-shattering and heartbreaking… no matter what side you were fighting for. " AAAACCCCEEEEE!" she cried out. Violently sobbing, simply staring down at his body… "AGHHH ACE!!"
" Y/N CALM DOWN" The crew was trying to get her to calm down, they knew her devil fruit… heavily intertwined with her anger and sorrow… Losing control now… means doubling the size of the casualties.
" No no no no NOOOO!" She screamed… her hair floating as she allowed her energy to flow freely… shaking the ground. " I'm done with this!" She rasped… voice hoarse and ragged. "I'll kill you," she muttered softly… before tearing her eyes from Ace and staring at Akainu "I'll KILL YOU!" she screamed as she gently removed the now lifeless body from her lap. Taking caution to lay his head on the ground softly… taking his hat into her hands and staring at it for a moment before setting it safely upon her head. "DEADLY PUPPET!"
Everyone froze as the dead bodies all around her started to move again ( Minus Ace). Mangeld and broken… bodies of Marines and Pirates moved… Standing at a still position… like mer puppets. Marco gasped softly… staring at her face… seeing the ice-cold stare she held, no remorse for those she was using as she would usually have… No emotion about the fact that her own brothers were being used… She was no longer Y/n in this moment… nor was she La Muerte no love… health… celebration… no she was Xibalba… dark… frighting… forgetting those she was using.
" Kill every Marine In site" She demanded. Her voice was dark, laced in venom… eyes a neon green, and hair a now spikey form. Everyone watched in horror as the number of dead bodies doubled as well as the number of her army.
" Y/N STOP THIS MADNESS" The crew called back while at the same time trying to get Luffy to safety. Jinbe was horrified… Ace spoke as if this woman was a saint… but what he saw now was straight out of hell.
"Love… that's what she's acting on," Vista spoke quickly… catching the terrified look on Jinbe's face. "The unhealthy kind"
"Y/n PLEASE!" Marco screamed
" NO THEY KILLED MY HUSBAND AND MY FARTHER, NO MARINE WILL LEAVE HERE ALIVE" She screamed, moving to search for the bastard that did it… that killed him. Locking eyes on him… she only smiled, dark and menacing. " AND YOU, YOU SON OF A BITCH, I'LL KILL YOU MYSELF" she pointed at Akainu and started to walk towards him.
" Bring it on 'Princess'" He said getting ready for a fight. Using air quotes to taunt her… trying to get her mentally over the edge. It was working.
" AKAINU I'LL KILL YOU THEN I'M GOING AFTER THAT FATASS UP THERE," she said pointing toward Teach. Who gasped at her words… not realizing he was gonna get dragged in so soon.
As another body hit the floor, the two were going at it. Lava was flying with each connection of kicks and punches. Blood, sweat, and tears were flying everywhere. Some are attacks missing and others are not.
" YOUR SON WILL DIE THE SAME WAY HIS FARTHER DID" Akainu yelled, ' I can break her' he thought. He was not expecting such a vigorous fight… especially from a woman. 'never believed that a broken-hearted woman… was far more dangerous than a greedy man…' She was proving his belief wrong now.
" AKAINU THAT'S ENOUGH" Garp yelled. ' I made a promise' he thought struggling under Son Goku. He needed to get to her… at the very least… be ready for if they moved to hunt for son… His great-grandson… 'Like hell they'll take her… or him!'
" Garp are you trading sides," He asked pushing Garp further into the ground.
" No but that Woman is my family and so is her child," he said finally getting out. Rushing to the battlefield… not getting involved but staying close just in case.
" YOU TOUCH MY SON I'LL BURN YOU IN HELL!" She screamed… sending a fist into Akainu, Haki covered and blood-lust-ridden. Hitting him so hard that he went flying… sailing into the canon that her father had made… Breathing heavily "Fuck… You!" Shifting her sight… Moving on from Akainu… hunting for the bitch bastard that started all this… "WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU TEA-AKK!" She gurgled when a sword impaled her chest… near deadly strick. "I- Who?" Y/n gasped… glancing behind her to see Marco… tear tear-ridden face and guilt-bound.
"I'm sorry little Sis… I promise I'll fix you up… but I can only allow so many siblings to die this day…" He whispered, pulling the sword from her chest… watching as she coughed up blood… before falling backward into the ground… landing right next to Ace. Turning her head… she gazed at his body… his face pale and eyes blank… but still his stupid… not his beautiful smile… edged onto his face forever. Reaching out softly… grasping his hand, she smiled.
"Unfortunately… Marco won't let me meet you yet…" She spoke softly… knowing full well that Marco would be back any second to heal her… "But… I'm glad… because I promise… I'll raise a perfect boy… a man… just like you," She smiled softly, allowing the darkness to take her. "Bye… bye my Ace."
"MAMA UNCLE LUFFY WANTS YOU!"
'Right!' Y/N was dragged out of her memories, reliving the past and the pleasure of her husband. It's been nearly 3 years since then, and now little Sabo stood smiling happily at the Age of 4. He looks exactly like him… his freckled-ridden face, dark eyes, hair, smile… not even an aspect of her in him. Only… Ace… and she wouldn't have it any other way.
" Think bout Papa again?" he asked sitting next to her, carefully grabbing her hand. Gently rubbing his thumb over her hand… a faint memory of his father doing so… was it his own?… or just one of when his mama would tell him of his dad?
" Yes sweetie, sorry," she said trying to wipe the little tears that were escaping.
" It's ok to cry Mama, I miss Papa too," he said now hugging his mother's arm. He did… so much… so young yet he knew he loved Ace… no His dad… he missed him… remembered him… needed him… loved him.
" Anyways, Where's Uncle Luffy?" She said getting off of Sunny's head. Picking Sabo up on the way.
" He's inside with Uncle Zoro," Sabo said pointing toward the kitchen door.
" Come on then! Let's see," she said slowly walking, Sabo went ahead and ran in front. Giggling as he threw the door open.
" I love you" Y/N was quick to turn around, looking for who said that. She sighed at the sight of her husband… a move… a technique she'd been practicing for years… now perfected.
" Thank you," she said smiling toward him. " For everything and I love you too" She took a step toward him and hugged the ghost, a familiar scent and touch made her smile…
" I'll be back don't worry," He said holding her face.
" I know, next week? Same time? " she asked.
"Same time," he said smiling back. She gently kissed him as he slowly faded away. God was she blessed to be a Devil fruit owner… especially of the Land of the Dead… both the forgotten and remembered… She got his spirit back to this world… not to complete her second part of this mission… completing his body… to be used as a successful vessel.
"Soon Mi amor… I'll have you back… and so will Luffy, Marco… Sabo…" She smirked… pulling out her notebook to make the final touches to her sketch… "Just need a compatible heart…"
"MAMA HURRY!!!"
"COMING LOVE!!" She giggled, tucking it safely into her pocket, before running to the Kitchen.
(okay so.... I sobbed writting this... Like being so for real... sobbed... I love Ace, he's my husband and his birthday was 4 days ago.... AGHHH... miss his greasy ass.... okay love you all! and also this took for ever so I promis PT2 for her healed heart will be out soon!
HAVE A GREAT DAY AND REMEMBER TO EAT,DRINK, AND LOVE YOURSELF BYEEEEEE LOVE YOU ALL

Whitebeard Pirates x Tanjiro Reader
-It had been years since any of them had seen you, you were only fifteen or sixteen when you ran- no that’s not right, when you were chased off by those you had considered your family, the Whitebeard Pirates.
-They didn’t know it at the time, but a demon had snuck on board the ship, and he had sensed your strength, much like the strength of the other members on the crew, but there was something about you, something dangerous.
-He needed to get rid of you so he could then enjoy his feast of such prime meat, as the crew was full of insanely strong individuals.
-You had been framed for multiple accidents, supplies going missing, and injuries, despite there not being any proof that you had done any of it, and Whitebeard was blinded by his anger to realize that he wasn’t thinking rationally when they drove you away, kicking you off the ship.
-It was when the demon tried to attack, only to be quickly subdued, that they realized what had happened, this demon was responsible for everything, after it confessed everything, with the hopes Whitebeard would let him go.
-However, when they all rushed to find you, to apologize and make things right, you were already long gone, as you had run as fast as you could, blinded by your grief, not wanting to ever see them again. They were your family, they had adopted you and made you feel so safe, only to betray you so coldly like this.
-That’s how you felt when you first left the Moby Dick, but after a couple years that passed, you matured and realized that it was your grief talking and not your true feelings.
-You wanted to see them again, to set the record straight, but you never seemed to come across them again, even after you joined a new crew, the Demon Slayer Pirates, a group that dedicated themselves to eradicating demons as well as anyone corrupt, under your captain, Ubuyashiki.
-He was like a father to you, treating you so gently, it was a lot like Whitebeard, as the soft affections reminded you of him, but this was different, it felt…right, if you had to describe it.
-It wasn’t until Whitebeard reached out to your captain, requesting his help, as he and his crew came across one of his territories, a small summer island, that had been attacked by a demon, turning all others into demons, and he needed help dealing with them.
-When you saw the Moby Dick again, you could only stare up at it, old pain filling your heart as you remembered how they chased you away, but there was no hate in your heart, you knew it wouldn’t do any good to hate.
-Whitebeard, Marco, Jozu, and many of the others were all wide-eyed, seeing you there, now under a new crew, and many shouted out your name, as they had regretted how they treated you and wanted to apologize.
-You were surprised, as were your crew mates as you had quickly been pulled into a hug by your old crew, many who were crying, relieved to see you again.
-Some of your new friends, Inosuke and Zenitsu, were curious on how you knew Whitebeard, as the massive man kneeled before you, hugging you close, “I’m so sorry Y/N.”
-His words seemed to echo around you as tears easily welled in your eyes, making Inosuke run over to yell, “Oi you old bastard- how dare you make Y/N cry?! I’ll-” WHACK!! He was quickly sent to the ground, punched on the top of his head by Tengen, disciplining him.
-Ubuyashiki approached, his voice soothing and calm, “We can enjoy the reunion later. First, we have a job to too.”
-Several voices, including your own, shouted out immediately, “Yes sir!!” and you stepped away from the group and drew your sword as your captain lit a special candle, one that attracted demons.
-The Whitebeard Pirates were in awe, watching the Hashira, the strongest of the Demon Slayer Pirates, taking charge, while you, Inosuke, and Zenitsu, showed off your own skills, showing that you had grown over the past few years as you used your Sun Breathing techniques, taking out the demons that had taken over the island.
-All except you and your captain were sent out to patrol the island, to look for any lingering demons, as he had asked you to remain, so you could speak with Whitebeard and his crew.
-They told you of the demon they had found, who had confessed to everything after he had been captured, right before Marco burned him, and how they had believed you had been responsible for the incidents, something Whitebeard apologized for, for not investigating properly.
-They were stunned by your soft smile, hearing them all apologizing to you for how they treated you, and you smiled, letting a tear slip down your cheek, “I forgave you all long ago. I knew that you didn’t really mean what you had said, so I have no reason to be mad. You guys were my family after all!”
-You quickly found yourself being hugged by Thatch, Marco, and Ace, all of them crying comically as they held you, you looked exasperated, but Ubuyashiki could tell that you were happy, even if he couldn’t see you.
-When Whitebeard asked you to come back to them, your smile fell before you bowed deeply, your head touching the floor, “Thank you for the offer, but I refuse. I found my place with Captain Ubuyashiki and the other Demon Slayers.”
-Whitebeard wasn’t upset, like some of the others, like Ace, who looked ready to fight for you, as he reached his hand down, ruffling your hair softly, “I knew you wouldn’t, but I wanted to ask anyway. You do what makes you happy Y/N- but don’t think your crew is getting away from this island without having a party with us!!”
-Ubuyashiki couldn’t help but smile, hearing the cheers and the enthusiasm, agreeing and once everyone returned, safe and sound, many cheered at the thought of having a party.
-You enjoyed yourself, being back on the Moby Dick, there were so many faces you recognized and some you didn’t, but the vibe was still similar, like a family.
-Despite not going back to your old crew, Whitebeard and the others were still your family, and you would always consider them as such, and they considered you the same.

Hello I hope you've been sleeping and eating well, may I request this? Whitebeard Pirates x Inosuke reader like he was the smallest and youngest among them, he gets into a lot of trouble
Inosuke was raised by boars his life and he has little to no human contact
Inosuke is influenced more and more by the Whitebeard pirates ways ways and becomes more accustomed to affection and generosity, learning to also acknowledge the strength of people besides himself and develop feelings of friendship towards the Whitebeard pirates , although he does still retain his proud nature and constant want for praise. He also begins to think more strategically when engaging in combat, using smarter tactics he has picked up from more experienced Demon Slayers and not just rushing into fights head-on without thinking, he goes mad when anyone tries to hurt his family, though despite being a troublemaker he can be shy and quiet whenever it comes to new things like Inosuke would hold Marco sleeve and watch in awe as a parade was happening
So how would the Whitebeard pirates react seeing their youngest and smallest crewmate being quiet for the first time like someone made a comment like "I wonder why would they allow a troublemaker boar into their crew?" And Inosuke started wondering that too and started being quiet as the Whitebeard pirates were behind him glaring at the bastard who made their youngest upset
Doubtful affections ( Whitebeard pirates x m!reader)
I don’t know how to feel about this one yall I really liked it at the beginning but then it was eh maybe I tried to hard using different characters I think that lowkey ruined it but nevertheless here we are I am proud that I finished dit today though! :)
Personification of Fossa was heavily inspired by @hannahbarberra162 ‘s own take on the character :)
Reader here has been replaced by Dokucha which stands for Reader in japanese

“Why does it have to be boars anyway? We haven’t had sparrows in a while, and they are here by the plenty,” Ace whined as he followed after his brother.
“Cos’ the sparrows are here to control the caterpillar population, the villagers recently managed to get it under control and save their crops; boars are killin’ off their livestock,” Thatch huffed out, venturing further into the forest and away from the grasslands the village had made a home in
“We can get some good meat, and they will trade us materials if we help hunt them down; it’s a win-win for both sides.”
Ace let out a hum in response, looking further into the forest and placing an arm out to halt Thatch, gesturing for him to be quiet and lower himself on the ground.
Thatch is quick to understand the reasoning behind his actions as not far from there was a large sounder grazing on the wild vegetation. Letting out a smile as he unsheathed his knife and edged closer to them
“We goin’ to eat good tonight,” he grinned, stalking closer to the boars, knife raised and ready to strike; the opportunity ended as elated for the hunt he had failed to notice the foliage beneath his feet, cringing at the loud crinkling sound that quickly alerted the sounder.
“Ha...Howdy”
“Good going, Thatch,” Ace sarcastically called after they had managed to fend off the angry mothers that had charged at them the minute they realized someone had gotten too close to them and their piglets.
“Quit yer Hollerin; it ain’t matter how it got done. What matters is we got the meat,” he called, rolling his eyes and taking a glance at a nearby bush for a moment, his attention going back to the gathering of their hunt.
“Make yer’self useful and take care of the last one, think might be anotha piglet.”
“Aye, Aye, Captain,”” he called dismissively, igniting one of his hands as he approached the bush.
“Come here, piggy, piggy, come....here? Thatch you might want to take a look at this:”
“What is it? Oh.” The two men gawked at the sight in front of them; perhaps if they were not as worried at the fact that in front of them sat a toddler alone in the middle of the woods, they would have found it amusing at the mannerisms it showed as it let out what they guessed were small growls and charges towards them, a mask just as small as he was decorating his head.
Ace grinned gingerly. He picked up the aggressive child and boosted him up in the air for a few seconds. A laugh escaped him as the boy started giggling, his small hands trying to reach the man.
“Ya ain’t a boar, ain’tcha? What are ya doin’ all alone here?”” Thatch questioned, looking up at the giggling boy
“You don’t think he was being raised by one of the boars, do you?” Ace mulled lowering the toddler onto his hip, occasionally bouncing him
“Don’ see any other way he coulda survive alone out here” he mumbled, slipping off the boy’s mask to take a peak at his features.
“Well, it doesn’t matter cause he’s coming with us”” Ace laughed, but it was cut short as the child sank his teeth into his torso, gaining a hiss from the man.
“He’s gonna give Marco a run for his money.”” Thatch grinned, finding humor in his brother’s glowering
Tumblr media
Thatch was definitely not wrong when he spoke those words as Marco stood in front of the child watching at his latest achievement; he had made a mistake in giving his back to a child who had been raised in the wild, and what did this cost him? A clinical bed, as the current one was now trashed, with small claw and bite marks littering it, springs and stuffing exposed to the frigid air of the room
Marco let out a sigh at the sight
“Alright, let’s set things straight; you do not destroy things,” Marco called, stopping the child from digging his teeth into the bed once again. He placed him on his lap, facing him, and held him as he struggled to get away from him and attack him.
“We can do this all day,”” he stated, looking down at the boy, who eventually stopped trying to headbutt his way out and began pointing to the bed.
“Don’t destroy my clinic,” he called sternly. He complied with his silent request and placed the child on the bed, watching him for a while to see if he would repeat her actions. He nodded when he didn’t and simply sat there staring at him. He then began assessing the child, taking all measurements, and, much to his displeasure, vaccinating him.
“There we go, you did great. Now I think it’s time you meet the rest of your brothers. Pops is waiting too.” he called, lowering the boy to the ground, his eyes softening as he gingerly took hold of his sleeve as they left the clinic, slowly walking closer to the deck, the rowdiness of the crowd getting louder and louder the closer they got
Tumblr media
“You have improved greatly, Dokucha,” Vista applauded as he approached the small boy after he had successfully beaten his opponents under his brother’s watch.
A now older Dokucha spun around to meet his brother grinning at him
“You think so, Vista-nii?!” He called excitedly as he pulled up his mask and sheathed his wakizashi. Even though six years had already gone by since the day he had been found in that forest among boars, the young boy had kept his signature mask, having to replace it every year to fit his growing body.
“Your agility with the wakizashi has increased. Your movements are much smoother than last time, and your stance has improved as well. You no longer stumble on your feet when you must spin to meet opponents behind you,” he complimented, mirroring the child’s wide smile.
“Of course, I did a good job! I am the best after all!” he boasted as he put his hands on his hips in a proud manner.
“Remember to not underestimate your opponent regardless of their skill, or it will be your downfall on the battlefield,” He said as he placed a hand on the child’s head.
“I won’t, Vista-nii, don’t worry!”
“Now then, I must finish some training with my unit before we depart. Are you able to stock up on some of our supplies? We need new whetstones and truingstones"
“Leave it to me, Vista-nii!”
“Atta boy! I will see you shortly!” He called as he walked away
“Alright! I Saw a blacksmith right around the corner!” Dokucha noted as he made his way into the local village
“Here it is,” he remarked as he made his way inside the store, easily finding the items he was searching for and making his payment. Waving off the store owner as he made his exit, stopping as he heard the shop owner begin to talk, he turned around to see what the owner needed, only to once again be stopped as another voice spoke up.
“Who was that dear?”
“It was one of the Whitebeard pirates; he came to refill some of their smithing supplies.
He knew he was quick to jump into action; he had greatly improved this in the last years as he was less prone to suddenly lash out and act out on impulse. Under his brother’s tutelage, he now analyzed the situation and thought of a solution before his body moved. Much to Marco’s surprise and pleasure, the small boy had shown a great ability to strategize, coming up with strategies and views that never failed to impress him, much to his pleasure.
“Oh, was it one of the commanders? I heard Vista was around.”
“No, it was the boy,”
“That small child that tags along with them? I heard he was up to no good.”
Nevertheless, since he was still a child, it was only normal that many mannerisms he gained during his first two years of life still prevailed, which his brothers and father welcomed as they had grown to be a part of him. This, however, was not the case with people outside his circle; he was not deaf to the people’s words, the whispers of judgment following everywhere he went. He usually never let this get to him as he knew better than to care for stranger's words, but today was not one of those times.
“I wonder why they even keep such a boy.”
“I know, right? If anything, he would be a liability. That crew comprises such strong people, and then there’s him.”
“Maybe they felt bad for the boy, heard he was raised by boars. Can you believe that?” he said with a small laugh.
“Boars?! HA! I'm sure they keep him for entertainment. Their days at sea are very long after all.”
“Oh! That must be it I'm sure they...
Dokucha turned around, not waiting to hear the rest of the conversation, as he made his way back to the ship
Tumblr media
“Have any of you seen Dokucha?” Namur questioned as he entered the mess hall, looking around for said boy
“He asked me for swimming lessons, and then the little rascal didn’t show up,” he grumbled, making his way to the table where the rest of the commanders sat at
“I asked him to get some materials from me, but I haven’t seen him since then,” Vista piped up
“I saw him go to his room earlier. Has he not left since then? It’s been hours since then,” Jozu noted, sharing a few worried glances with his brothers
“I will go check in on him,” Izou stated as he made his out of the mess hall
Tumblr media
“Dokucha, are you there?” Izou called as he knocked on the door to his room, frowning as he received no response
‘He’s a light sleeper, so there’s no way he didn’t hear my knocking,’ he thought as he took a bobby pin out of his hair and easily unlocked the door, his frown deepening as his eyes fell on the lump on the bed.
“Dokucha?” He called sitting down on the bed
“The door was closed for a reason, Izou-nii,” the child grumbled, his voice muffled by the bed sheets. Despite this, the roughness and scratchiness of the voice was not lost to Izou as he swiftly removed the covers from the boy and pulled him closer to him.
“I have told you that it is unbecoming to not look as someone when you speak,” he called, tightening his hold as Dokucha tried pushing him away.
“Just leave Izou-nii,” he growled.
“I will not leave until you tell me what has had you acting this way.”
“Why do you even care? I’m just a form of entertainment for you guys, so you don’t have to pretend anymore, so...just leave me alone!” he cried.
Shocked by his words, Izou is quick to release him, watching as he broke down in front of him.
“Who told you this?”
“So it’s true!” he wailed, his cries growing louder as he turned away until a delicate hand made his place under his chin and softly turned it back.
“Dokucha. I do not know where you have heard of this, but know that it could not be farther from the truth,” he softly spoke as he lifted his face.
“We care for you deeply; we were all so happy the day Ace and Thatch brought you aboard. Trust me, living in a ship surrounded by such barbarians can become tiring after a while.” He started gaining a small giggle from the child at his words
“But then there was you; you were the most delicate yet wildest thing I had seen,” he voiced with a small smile.
“It was quite a sight, having a toddler run around amock and causing experienced warriors to lose their minds over such a small thing,” he recalled with a smile.
“It’s concerning how quickly you became the most precious treasure that any of us have found. And that is why I would like to know how you ever thought you were simply a means for entertainment,” he finished, looking down at Dokucha.
The child, comforted by the words, threw himself into Izou's arms, sobs racking his small body.
“Was it because of something we said or did? Despite not being as uncivilized as some of them, I understand some of us can be a lot,” he spoke as he hugged the boy closer to him, rubbing his back to soothe his cries.
“No, it wasn’t you guys.”
“Then?”
Encouraged by his words, Dokusha told him of what he had heard in the shop earlier. After a while, his brother smiled at him and encouraged him to relax for a while as he and the others 'handled it.’
Tumblr media
“Say Fossa-nii, why did everyone leave?” Dokucha wondered as he looked up at the stars that filled the sky
“They had something that needed ta be handled,” he huffed out as he lay beside the boy.
“What is it?”
“What with the damn questions?! Just shut up n’ go to sleep,” the man growled, only getting a small snicker in response.
“I love you, Fossa-nii!” he exclaimed, throwing himself towards said man, hugging him tightly.
“Tch, yer lucky m' in a good mood,” he grunted out.
"Hey, hey, did you sneak any out today?" the child whispered, looking up at him
"Ya better not tell that idiot about this," he grumbled as he pulled out a small pastry from his pocket, handing it to the boy.
"I won't! Cause then I won't get any treats after hours!" he exclaimed, munching on the pastry and ignoring the snickers escaping his brother.

when you first joined the whitebeard pirates, you knew from stories what to expect. you prepared yourself to be pushed around as the runt of the litter or suffer through a humiliating ‘initiation.’ what you weren’t expecting was the kindness and love they showed you. your fellow pirates greeted you as an equal despite your lack of experience, gladly showing you the ropes.
thatch taught you how to cook, sharing family recipes and the favorite meals of each member. marco showed you the proper way to clean a wound, having you memorize the steps before going on to the next topic. jozu coached you on correct punch formation, contorting your body in uncomfortable ways to reach optimal punch velocity, though you got more bruises than knowledge from those lessons.
however, your favorite lesson by far was weapons training. firearms, to be exact. not because you were particularly interested in guns, no, you hated them. they were your favorite because they allowed you to spend one-on-one time with izou.
you’d wake up bright and early to finish your chores, swabbing the deck, doing laundry, sorting through marco’s supplies, and taking inventory for thatch. and finally, when you completed everything, you’d run up to izou, waiting for his acknowledgment. he’d always turn to you and give a curt nod, causing the butterflies that had been waiting all day to emerge, fluttering about in your stomach.
to say you had a crush on izou was the understatement of the century. whenever you saw him, your heart soared to unimaginable heights, piercing the clouds until it hit the sun, burning alongside the star with passion. there was no way to pick a favorite part of the man, but you had a list. the strands that escaped his hair tie and framed his face, the lipstick he carefully applied every morning, or the mix of his perfume and body wash that fused to create a flowery-citrus scent that lingered around him.
you could write enough things about izou to fill a short novel, but you’d never dare write them down on paper lest another crewmate finds it. while the crew was tight-knit, you knew they could be ruthless snitches, specifically marco and thatch. those two were eager to get in on any gossip they could, like reporters snooping around for the next juicy scoop. you had no intention of ever letting them know your true feelings.
the moby dick had just docked on an island, allowing the crew to make light purchases and restock any necessary supplies. you, however, were forced to serve thatch in his kitchen, grabbing whatever spice or vegetable he barked at you. only tuning into every third word he screamed, you instead thought about the gun practice you’d be having with izou tonight.
“hey hey hey!” thatch shouted, “i said three cloves of garlic, not three bulbs! are you trying to poison everyone on board!”
you jumped, dropping the garlic onto the counter, narrowly missing the pot where thatch’s masterpiece was cooking. “sorry! i got lost in my thoughts, but I’ll be more careful, i swear!”
thatch looked at you incredulously, determining whether or not you would be a further nuisance to his culinary craft. “and what was so important that caused you to forget what a clove was?”
“well, i was…” you froze in your tracks, desperately thinking of a clever lie. you couldn’t tell thatch just anything. he’d see through you in an instant.
“...i was so hungry that i couldn’t think straight! tonight is pizza night, after all. i just couldn’t get it out of my head.”
“well, we’re not making pizza right now, so throw that pie out of your noggin and start dreaming about soup!” thatch yelled back.
internally you let out a sigh of relief. everyone on the ship eagerly anticipated pizza night, so it wasn’t too outlandish to suggest you might be excited.
“my my, is teach in here? all this talk about pies…”
you jerked your head towards the door, looking at the new voice. but you knew who it was, even without turning your head. how could you not? that sweet dulcet voice plagued your dreams every night, not that you opposed its intrusion.
“you think i’d let that fool in my kitchen? he’d eat everything in here!” thatch shot back.
izou gave a hearty laugh before turning to you. “are we still on for practice tonight? you might miss out on pizza if we go.”
there was a lump in your throat, connecting down to your heart, resounding in your ears. all you could do was pitifully nod at the question, doing your best to give a reassuring smile.
he gave you one in kind, then turned and walked out the door, leaving you and thatch alone.
thatch slowly turned his head, eyeing you suspiciously. “...i thought you couldn’t get pizza night out of your head. you’re telling me you’d sacrifice one of my north blue-famous pies to shoot guns?”
you didn’t give thatch an answer. instead, you sprinted out of the kitchen, hearing him shouting after you. you knew he couldn’t give chase, not with his soup still cooking on the stove.
upon reaching the ship deck, you crashed by the railings, taking deep breaths. while desperately gasping for air, you felt a hand rest on your shoulder, seeing izou standing above you with a genial smile.
“done with the chef so soon? i know thatch can be pretty demanding, but this is only the second time i’ve seen someone get chased out.”
you quickly brushed your clothes, standing up. “i wasn’t chased out! i was just so excited for practice that he let me leave early!”
izou smirked at your hasty response. “well, if you’re that stoked, perhaps we should leave now?”
nodding eagerly, you followed closely behind as he left the ship, searching for a spot on the island to begin practice. he led you to a small clearing, placing a few bottles on various rocks and high points.
“now, remember what i’ve taught you. aim just a smidge above the target, not directly at it.”
you carefully pointed the pistol at one of the bottles, taking a deep breath and preparing yourself to fire.
“your stance is off,” he spoke suddenly, “feet apart, and your hand is too shaky.” izou stepped behind you, pressing his foot between yours, forcing them apart. he laid his hand on top of yours, steadying and straightening your posture.
“deep breaths now; calm yourself.” how could he ask something so unreasonable after doing something like that!? every nerve in your body worked overtime to calm down from his actions, demanding you flee immediately to stop your body from imploding.
however, you refused to let your body ruin this opportunity of one-sided intimacy. taking a deep breath, you held the pistol up, aiming at the bottle, pulling the trigger, and letting the bullet fly.
much to your dismay, it didn’t hit the target, only scraping the rock it was sitting on. you angrily threw the gun to the ground, stomping toward the bottle and kicking it, letting out a long frustrated groan. izou reached a hand out to console you, but you stopped him.
“i hate guns!” you shouted. “i don’t like shooting them, and they’re insufferable to use!” you continued your impassioned rant, much to the shock of izou, shouting for the next couple of minutes about your distaste for firearms.
once you finished and were entirely out of breath, izou chimed in.
“then why shoot with me so often? it’s not mandatory, you know,” he said wryly.
“because of you!” you yelled back.
“i don’t force—”
“i come because I want to shoot with you! to spend time with you, because i like being with you! i like hanging out with you, listening to your bad jokes, and when you offer to do my makeup, all of it! i like you a lot, so i’ll hang around you, even if it means i have to shoot dumb guns.”
izou just stared at you, eyes wide at your heartfelt assertion. after realizing the weight of your words, you felt your entire body heat up with embarrassment and shame.
“n-not that i think guns are dumb! i just don’t like them personally! they’re very pretty, especially the ones that—”
“you…like me?”
his words barely registered in your ears as your hammering heart overpowered any outside noise.
“well, i mean, yes— but if you don’t feel the same, we can pretend this never happened!”
silence permeated the air as you stared at each other, letting your proclamation sink in. embarrassment didn’t begin to describe your feelings, and you felt sick to your stomach.
disheartened by his lack of words and wide-eyed stare, you turned around and began walking toward the ship. it’s alright if izou couldn’t pretend, you already planned on doing your best to erase this interaction from your memory.
before you could return, you felt a tug on your hand. izou stood behind you, grasping your hand tightly and pulling you close. his expression was completely different, now sporting a determined look, eyebrows knit tightly together as he spoke.
“your declaration of love was inspiring, though i’d keep your comments on firearms to yourself, ” he shifted onto one knee, kneeling before you. “i apologize for my lackluster reaction, and i ask for your forgiveness, as you…caught me off guard. i would be honored to share my heart with you, now and forever.”
this time it was your turn to stare stupidly. you had prepared to never speak to izou again, to stomp to the boat and cry your eyes out, lamenting your big mouth. but for izou to declare that he returned your sentiments? if it weren’t for his tight grip on your hand, you’d pinch yourself to check if you were dreaming.
“...you really mean it?” you whispered, praying he was being truthful.
he stared into your eyes, unblinking. “if i am a liar, may i be struck down.”
tears of joy gently pricked your eyes as you squeezed his hands in response, beaming down at the gunslinger. izou stood, offering you his arm, which you gladly took. the two of you walked side-by-side, preparing for the cheers and jeers of your fellow pirates as you boarded the moby dick.
Tumblr media
a caramel pompadour peeked out from a nearby shrub, watching as you and izou walked away from the clearing.
“well, there goes 1,000 beri…you win, marco!” thatch groaned, tossing the money into the trees above.
from within the trees, a blonde man caught the sack of cash. “izou would’ve never confessed first; you know how proper he is!” marco cackled, counting his newly earned capital.
thatch sighed. “you know, you might be right,” he said, crossing his arms. “but i think we have those shooting lessons to thank. the straw that broke the samurai’s back!” thatch let out a boisterous laugh, only to be knocked over by marco.
“shaddup! they’re still close by, and i’m not going to be the one explaining why we were creeping.” marco hissed.
the doctor swiftly grabbed thatch with his talons, flying away from the island and towards the ship, all while the chef hung on for dear life. he knew he had to be fast, as he planned to be the first to congratulate you two on your budding romance.
Tumblr media
“did you hear that?” you whispered, turning around to the fluttering bushes. izou  spun you back around, giving you a reassuring smile.
“i’m sure it was nothing, just some lousy birds, that’s all.” he chuckled, giving a quick glance towards the greenery.
izou pulled you closer, stretching his arm around your shoulder, giving you an extra layer of safety. it was something you’d dreamed of for far too long, but now you knew he’d always be by your side, no matter the trials you faced. you smiled at the thought, leaning against your newfound lover as you anticipated the new chapter of your life.

Chapter 16: Springs Eternal
When you wake up there’s a heavy blanket over you, your injured arm placed carefully on top of it. Haruta is sitting nearby and smiles when your eyes open.
“You’ve got a good ten minutes still, if you want to doze more.” He explains. “I’m just here to make sure your fingers didn’t turn colors while you napped.”
You sniff and the smell of food alone wakes you up more. “Where’s Thatch?” Your tone isn’t nervous, you’re pretty sure he’s cooking, but you’re surprised he wasn’t beside you when you woke.
“Cooking like a man possessed.” Haruta answers. “I think… well, I don’t want to put words into his feelings, but whenever he was struggling with his emotions as a kid he’d start cooking. Good ones or bad ones, cooking helps him stay calm.”
“He must be tired.” You murmur, wiping your eyes clear of the heavy sleep that took you, and sitting up slowly. Haruta moves to help, but only ends up hovering while you sort it out well enough with one arm.
“Thatch? Nah, he’d need to be awake at least two more days before he’d really start feeling it.” Haruta takes the blanket for you, folding it up and setting it aside. “Pops used to tease that he kept snacks in his hair to help keep him going.”
The idea of Thatch pulling trail mix out of his pompadour makes you giggle.
“Oh - ah, hey, dinner’s almost ready, yoi.” Marco says, stepping into the living room. He smiles as he turns back toward the kitchen. “Thatchie boy, your girl’s smiling!”
There’s a bit of a commotion that follows Marco’s declaration, and you aren’t entirely sure what just happened. Haruta offers you help in getting out of the massive chair, and the laughter you can hear from the kitchen sounds like the commotion wasn’t bad, at the least.
Haruta makes sure you’re steady on your feet and then escorts you into the dining room. There’s pots and platters set along the inside of the table, and place settings at each chair. Haruta shoos Marco away and pulls out your chair instead, bowing a little once he scoots you into place.
“Enjoy your meal, madam,” he offers with a wink, before moving a few chairs down and seating himself.
Izou and Marco sat across from you, and Thatch sat at your left, and on your right was Edward Newgate, at the head of the table. There were three new faces you didn’t remember before and introductions were brief, but you got the names of Jozu, Vista and Curiel before everything begins.
The idle chatter dies down as everyone begins eating in earnest. The clink of cutlery against the plates is broken up by the occasional grunt of satisfaction from Jozu regarding the spicy shrimp. You could probably shovel the food into your mouth and no one would notice, since most everyone was focused on their own plate.
“S’only time some of these guys shut up.” Thatch muses, looking over at you with a smile. “Half the reason I took up cooking was for some peace.”
“The other half was cause you’re a picky bastard,” Curiel adds and the others grunt. “Thank the seas too, cause tryin’ to choke down the crap Fossa called curry was gettin’ harder by the day.”
“At least he didn’t set the galley on fire.” Vista grumbles and Izou almost chokes on his food.
“Who did that?” You question automatically.
“Vista.” Marco answers and everyone breaks into laughter.
“Glad you’re enjoying the meal, Miss Kakusho,” Newgate says, the soft baritone still rumbling over everyone else with ease.
“Indeed, this may be the best meal I’ve ever had.” You admit cheerfully. “I never knew dinner could be like this.”
“Like… noisy?” Jozu asks. “Ow, dammit, who kicked me?!” He grumbles, looking under the table as Haruta sits back up in his chair.
“Mm, that certainly,” you admit. “It’s like a holiday feast, but it’s just a normal dinner.”
“Ah. With only three people you weren’t making big platters of food for every meal.” Izou hums.
“Wait until the holidays come around this year,” Haruta says, leaning forward to catch your attention before he smiles. “We set up tables out in the courtyard because there’s so many people. Thatch starts prep two days in advance, and the kitchens in the other wings are fired up just to keep up.”
Your eyes go wide at the idea of it. “How many people…”
“Almost two thousand.” Newgate answers. You’re glad you weren’t eating or drinking anything, you think you would’ve choked.
“Pops adopted four hundred and six kids over the last forty years or so, yoi.” Marco explains. “Some of them have adopted kids, most of ‘em have married and had kids.”
“The count just goes up and up.” Curiel says. “Ah, speaking of, we’re expecting again.”
The explosion of congratulations get so loud your ears ring a little and you wince against the sudden sound. It doesn’t last too long, and you’re sure what you witnessed was the true scale of just how loud this family can get.
No wonder Pops could bellow the way he had.
The energy of the dinner stays mellow after that outburst, and once the meal was done, everyone but Thatch and Newgate went about the business of clearing the table and cleaning up. You started to move to help, but Thatch moved your plate away with one hand and put another on your shoulder.
“Injury aside, you’d be crushed.” He says, patting your shoulder gently. “Let’s go to the tea room. The others will join us soon enough.”
You, Thatch, and his father head out of the dining room and head down the hall. The three of you barely get seated when Izou comes in with tea, and shortly after him the others come in. You’re seated between Thatch and Newgate, with Izou and Marco across from you again. Haruta, Curiel, Vista and Jozu come in and settle in a moment later.
The smaller chairs and more intimate setting have you feeling nervous before Pops even begins speaking.
“What I have to say, Miss Kakusho, will be unpleasant, but you deserve to know the truth of things.” Newgate clears his throat and sighs. “I don’t know exactly what this plan is that your parents have been working on for so long, but what I do know is that when they brought you here to meet my son they offered me a proposition.”
The look of disgust that finds its way to his face, despite his obvious efforts, is enough for you to turn to Thatch. You put your hand in his, and he wraps his fingers around it just enough to let you know he’s there.
“They suggested that I utilize the connections of my company to secretly sell you off.”
Your mind stutters.
One of Pops’ sons swears, but you aren’t sure who. Thatch’s fingers twitch, but he doesn’t grip your hand any tighter than before.
After a moment your brow furrows and you shake your head. “That… doesnt make sense.” You start to speak, stopping again and searching for the words you needed. No one interrupted you and you eventually found what you were looking for. “I owe them money,” you say, looking up to Edward Newgate. “Not you. My parents’ plan was so they could get what they were owed from me. Not to make someone else money. I’m confused.”
“You owe them?” Thatch asks, sounding just as confused as you feel.
You nod, but then turn back to Newgate. “I believe you. I’m not saying you’re lying, but it doesn’t make sense.”
“Did you borrow money from them?” Izou asks, his tone less confused than Thatch’s.
“N-no, I… I’m…” You swallow thickly, but before Thatch can tell you that you don’t have to say anything the words come out before you stop them.
“I’m useless.”
The silence that follows feels damning. They gazes centered on you were heavy, you couldn’t bring yourself to face any of them. They’ve been so nice they don’t want to agree with it, so they’re not saying anything. Trying to smile you continue.
“I-I was. I was, but my parents did so much for me, and it was - I mean, it was a lot, and they g-gave their whole lives to making sure I was worth, you know, enough.” Your stammering words quiet as shame rushes into your face. It’s everything you have to keep the tears locked in.
“I owe them.” You assert in a tiny voice. “It… it takes a lot to make a decent daughter.”
There’s a long silence. Your gaze is in your lap. You want to pull your hand out of Thatch’s, but you don’t want him to leave your side either. You can’t shake the feeling that you’ve somehow managed to let everyone down all at once.
The sound of shattering porcelain makes you, and most of the table, jump.
“I’ll get towels.” Haruta says, darting out of the room.
“Don’t move, Thatch.” Vista says. “Let me get the pieces so you don’t cut your hand worse.”
“Worse?!” You look up at Thatch, who is only looking down and giving you a reassuring smile.
“It’s okay doll,” he says evenly. “It’s not the first teacup I’ve broken.”
“You’re… angry.” You start to phrase it as a question, but settle on the word as a statement. Thatch’s hand around yours twitches, but he doesn’t pull it away. A gruff sigh escapes him but he gives you an apologetic look as he nods.
“Not at you.” He clarifies.
“What a terrible set of parents.” Marco grumbles.
“The more I hear of them, the more I regret every act of civility toward them.” Izou adds.
“I’m, I’m-.”
“Don’t.” Izou snaps icily, interrupting you sharply. His gaze stills you more than the word, and there’s authority in it that you can almost feel gripping your face. “Do not apologize for your parents. Unless they grovel on the ground like the vapid troglodytes they are, and beg your forgiveness, they do not deserve the sincerity of your apology.”
The cold silence in the air doesn’t feel as heavy as you think it should, but Thatch’s words from earlier ring in your mind.
“Oi, Izou, don’t intimidate the poor girl.” Jozu scolds. Izou only scoffs, returning to his tea.
“Thatch… said the same thing.” You murmur and Izou’s irritated expression breaks into incredulous disbelief.
“Haah?” The noise he makes is as close to undignified as you think Izou would ever allow to pass his lips. He’s looking over at Thatch, who is looking down at you.
“I didn’t go sayin’ all of that.” He insists. “I just said your parents ain’t worth you apologizing for them.”
Marco snorts a laugh, looking away from Izou and covering his face as he tries not to laugh openly.
“You two really are on the same page more than either of you care to admit.” Curiel points out and it’s all it takes for Marco to finally crack, head down in his arms laughing.
Izou raises a hand, but Newgate clears his throat and he stops from smacking his brother.
“Forgive them, miss Kakusho.” He says and you shake your head.
“No, it’s alright. I… I appreciate it.”
“Mm, if it is as you say, however, that does not leave us in the best place.” Newgate pulls the conversation back on topic, concern furrowing his brows. “If your parents’ focus was on profiting from your existence, then their initial proposition doesn’t make sense.”
“Unless they were going to discuss a finder’s fee after.” Haruta offers, nose crinkled in disgust at the idea.
“Or it could’ve been a false opener.” Jozu suggests.
“Yes, but they would have to have expected father to agree.” Izou adds.
“That,” you begin, pressing your lips together. “Would fit.”
“Really?” Marco questions, looking up.
You nod. “My parents feel that everyone is… er… that everyone shares their aspirations. That everyone is out to make a profit, no matter the cost.”
Everyone at the table makes a face. The synchronized disgust is almost comical.
“Well, the only…” Haruta grimaces, closing his eyes before continuing. “The only commodity they believed they possessed was you, Miss.” He looks between his brothers and father. “The NWO’s visit tonight is proof they’re still set on attempting to turn a profit. Which means she’s in a precarious position.”
“We could learn more if we play along.” Izou admits. “The whole push to get them both out of Thatch’s apartment.”
“Do you think petty theft of Thatch’s stuff is going to be what they’re after?” Marco questions, and Izou shrugs.
“That’s the problem, isn’t it?”
“There’s also the concern of who is helping them.” Newgate says. “And why.”
“Helping them?” Vista questions. “Why do we think they’re getting help?”
Thatch’s free hand clenches, and the table goes silent. It only takes a moment for you to realize what the cause of the heavy feeling is.
“Because…,” you begin. “My parents messed with the Match Program.”
“Eh?” Curiel’s jaw goes slack.
“Whether they did or not,” Pops says, putting a hand up toward you and Thatch. “There’s no doubt you two are compatible. But that is something we have to consider, however we decide to handle this. Before you two are married a Rematch is possible, and if the NWO declares the match invalid during that time, it could also cause issues.”
Newgate reaches over, putting a massive hand over yours. He might only be a little taller than Thatch, but he seems larger than life right now. There’s a twinkle in his deep blue eyes that feels both like reassurance and rebelliousness.
“We will not abandon you. Even if circumstances complicate things, your home is here if you wish it.” He promises you.
The warmth. The genuine tone. The expression on his face. There’s no room for doubt. There’s no place for your parents’ words to weave between this man’s declaration and your own apprehension. The emotion that swells in your chest, the feeling that floods into your eyes, is something you don’t know that you’ve felt before.
This small, tender feeling shivers in its own new, fragile existence, but it is infinitely warm.
Before you can even say thank you, six brothers are holding out handkerchiefs for you. It’s not a sob that breaks you, but a small laugh that’s rushed from your lungs by the alien feeling behind it. Accepting the cloth from Thatch you carefully mop the tears from your eyes, taking a few moments to hide behind the cotton square.
It might be small and fragile, but for the first time in your life, you had hope.

7 Stages of Grief
Tumblr media
IMAGINE:  STAGES OF GRIEF ~ ACE X READER GENRE: ANGST WARNING: MAJOR CHARACTER DEATH. LOT'S OF ANGST. *********************
There are seven stages of grief that everyone goes through at one point in their life. It was fate, something bad always has to happen.
Well fate can be cruel at times.
Fate didn't have to rip your lover out of your life, but it did.
1. Shock/Disbelief
Seeing Ace's dead body hit the ground was an out of body experience. And not in a good way. Seeing the blood splatter against the ground froze your body. There was just no way that this could happen. You really couldn't believe your eyes as the world around you fell silent. You didn't hear Luffy's screams that his brother died. You didn't hear your fellow crewmates cry out in shock. You didn't hear your Captains final words either.
You were too shocked to believe anything that was happening in front of your eyes.
2. Denial
You didn't want to believe that it was real. But as you felt Ace's cold body against your fingers, you had to pull away.
"No," you whispered turning away from his body. Your eyebrows were furrowed as you fought back the tears that wanted to cascade down your face. Some of your crewmates looked at you in confusion. "This can't be real. Maybe it's a dream. But I know damn well that Ace isn't dead. He can't be."
You kept pushing the image of Ace's dead body out of your head. Instead, replacing it with a time when he was alive. In fact, at some point you convinced yourself that he was still alive. Somewhere out there.
You felt a hand on your should causing you to look back. It was Marco. He had a look on his face. One mixed with sadness and pity. His facial expression caused you to look away. You knew if you looked at Marco any longer then it meant that it was true. That your boyfriend was dead.
"I'm so sorry (y/n)..."
3. Guilt
When reality set in, it was like guilt punched you in the gut. You often wondered how things could have gone differently. What if you went with Ace to hunt Marshall? Then he wouldn't have been captured in the first place.
Maybe if you tried harder in the fight, you could have stopped him from getting a fist through his stomach. You kept beating yourself up for not being strong enough to save him.
All these 'what if's' running through your head just only made the guilt that ran through your veins worse.
4. Anger and bargaining
When anger set in, no one wanted to be around you. Your episodes were quite scary. It wasn't sudden either. No, it gradually grew into you snapped. It started with small things, like seeing something that reminded you of Ace. Honestly, anything reminded you of Ace. Like when you saw his favorite food or even a necklace.
When someone was talking about Ace's death, anger has never surfaced faster. You were shouting at people, throwing things, destroying anything that was around you. You weren't going to stop until you felt someone grab your wrists. You look up to see the third division, Jozu. He had a stern gaze on you. One that you matched.
It was a silent stare off between you two. Everyone was waiting to see who would break first.
It was you.
Angry tears started to roll down your face and you could feel Jozu's grip on you loosen. He was definitely not expecting that.  "W-" Jozu starts but gets cut off.  "It's not fair!" You shout finally snatching your wrists free from his grasp.  "It's not fair," your voice breaking- not wanting to say those words, "that I'm still here."
"What is that supposed to mean?" Jozu asks.  "I would do anything to have him here. Even if it meant trading places with him."  "Don't say that. He wouldn't want. Ace would want you alive."  "Well it doesn't matter what he wants now."
Your words are basically like venom as you leave. The only thing that could be heard was a door slamming shut.
5. Depression/ sadness
"(y/n), wake up." Ace's voice whisper causing a small groan to leave your lips. You peeked your eyes open to see Ace smiling down at you.  "hey." You whisper bringing a hand up to caress his face. The warmth of his face immediately brought a smile to your face.  "I have an idea." He says.  "Uh oh. That's never good." You joke causing him to roll your eyes.  He decides to ignore your little jab at him, "let's go out today."
You immediately sat up, eyeing the bandage on his chest. "Let's not. Marco said you need plenty of rest before going back out. Plus I have something planned today."  Ace lays back down, his head resting in his hand.
"I bought a whole bunch of new clothes, so let's do a fashion show!" You excitedly say before jumping out of the bed.  However, the sheets got tangled up in your feet causing you to crash onto the floor.
A groan left your lips as you rubbed your head. After the pain left, you realized that something felt different.  With a sigh, you climbed back into the empty bed. Pulling the blankets over, you reached over to where Ace usually sleeps.
You closed your eyes imagining that his warmth was still there. Imagining wasn't enough though. You couldn't really feel his warmth. Tears started falling down your face again as you started to wander back into dreamland.
7. Acceptance
"Look babe," Ace says walking out from the bathroom.
You laid in bed with a book in your hand. When he called your nickname, you looked up at him with a large smile.  "Yes?"  "My wound is healing up," He says lifting his arms to show the clean bandage.  "I'm glad."
Ace jumps into the bed, not wasting any time to hover your body, your book falling off the bed. A mischievous smile covers his face, "how should we celebrate?"
You roll his eyes at his innuendo, "definitely by not doing that."  A pout replaced on his lips as he rolled off onto the side.
"I feel so much better though."
Your nose scrunched up at his words as you also rolled on your side to look at him. No words were spoken between you two. Just silence as you looked into each others eyes.  You never wanted this moment to end.
Ace let a sigh, his lips slightly twitching into a frown.
"I should go out today. See if there's anything for me to do."
A frown placed on your face now, "no," you whisper bringing up your hand to caress the side of his face.  "There's no reason for you to leave. You can just stay here with me."
Ace sat up causing you to do the same.  "I think it's time for me to leave (y/n)."  Your heart started ache at his words and Ace can tell that this hurts you.  "I love you." He says bringing you into a hug, which you gladly return.
There was a knock on the door and soon light entered your bedroom. There Marco stood in the doorway, watching your figure sit on the bed. You were holding a pillow closely to your chest.  When the light hit your body, you turned around seeing Marco looking at you with a saddened look.
"He's gone Marco...."
Upon seeing the tears in your eyes, he immediately goes over to your bed and sits on the edge.  "This is my first time actually saying it..." You mutter, your grip slowly loosing it's grip on the pillow.
Marco doesn't waste another second to pull you into a hug. Sobs started to break through as you clutched onto him.
"It's okay (y/n). Let it out. We'll work through this together."

Roronoa Zoro X CisFem Reader CW: Death/Loss
18
Al had arrived by the time you were dressed and was standing in the living room tying Sabo's tie when you came downstairs. Zoro followed you and took a seat on the sofa.
"Marco is seething outside." your younger brother said before thanking his girlfriend and kissing her forehead.
Without a word you slipped into your coat and stepped out to find the older blond leaning against the rail lighting a fresh cigarette. Calmly you walked toward him and flicked it from his lips into the snow.
"What the fuck, F/N?" his sleepy sapphires met your gaze.
"I'm not letting you smoke anymore. We all know what happens."
He frowned at you, "I don't need you telling me what to do."
"Well, I'm not letting anyone else in this family ... " you trailed off realizing bringing up death right now probably wouldn't end well.
"Is that why Thatch quit?"
You nodded.
"That weakling could never say no to you." he grumbled pocketing the lighter, "Is everyone ready yet?"
"Ace is the last to get dressed he should be down soon."
"Thatch went early to make sure the flower arrangements are set up. I think he just wants to be alone, yoi."
"We'll let him have his time then. He had Pops much longer than we did." you murmured.
"You think we'll be ok?"
His question surprised you. Marco rarely showed weakness and even more rarely doubted Pops or the family.
You looped your arms around his torso, "Of course, Jozu, Vista, and Izo are holding the company down while we take care of things here. The boys just need their time and so do we."
"You sound so sure," he rumbled.
"I have to be." you stepped back.
The screen door opened as Al, Sabo, and Zoro walked out. Al pulled you into a hug and rubbed your back without saying anything, she didn't have to. After receiving her silent condolences she moved on to Marco with tears streaming down her adorable face.
"You guys can ride with us." Sabo cleared his throat, clearly touched by his girlfriend's display of emotions for your father.
"Is Ace ready yet?" Marco asked awkwardly patting Al's back as she stepped back.
On cue Ace and Luffy stepped out dressed in black suits the youngest wrapping a red scarf around his neck. Ace's eyes were red and puffy, and you noted a bandage wrapped around his right knuckles that hadn't been there last night. Before you could say anything Zoro's warm hand tipped your chin drawing your attention back to him. He quietly searched your face, silently asking if you were ok. You offered him a soft smile as he tugged the hood of your coat up to protect your hair from the falling snow.
"Ace, Luffy, you're with me, yoi." Marco announced leading the way off the porch.
Al and Sabo walked closely together to his car while Zoro took your hand and followed. It was a quiet drive to the funeral home. Anxiety began to twist through your gut as you entered the building and were ushered back to the room where the open casket memorial would be held.
Thatch met you in the doorway with tired misty eyes. His long brunette tresses pulled halfway up into a ponytail.
"You don't have to go to the casket if you aren't comfortable." he murmured into your hair as you hugged him.
Open casket funerals always bothered you. You had attended a few for distant relatives and Pops would let you sit in the back, so you didn't have to see the person inside. People told you it would be different for someone you loved or were very close to but at this moment you didn't think you could do it.
The night Pops passed you stayed outside in the hallway while your brothers took their time with him. The moments that afternoon cuddled up to his warmth while you watched TV and teased each other were your preferred final memories. It was going to take a lot of strength just to sit in the front pew as people shared their stories.
You nodded and squeezed your eldest brother before stepping back to glance over the flower arrangements and photos decorating the doorway.
"You did a lovely job Thatchy."
He smiled and kissed your forehead before moving to greet the rest of the group.
"Thanks for being here for her." you heard Thatch say as he shook Zoro's hand.
The greenette nodded adding a gentle pat to Thatch's shoulder, "For you guys too. Whatever you need."
More people began to arrive, hug you and shake your hand.
Zoro watched closely as Shanks pulled you into a tight hug.
"We didn't always get along, but your dad was a great man."
"Thanks." you breathed.
"Let me know if you guys need anything." the redhead advised feeling your boyfriend's gaze and stepping back.
"We will. Luffy is over in the corner with Nami, make sure you go talk to him," you replied taking Zoro's hand as he offered it.
Shanks glanced down to your laced fingers and nodded before making his way to the youngest.
When the service finally started you sat in the front choking back sobs while your boyfriend and older brother took turns comforting you. Marco didn't cry once, not even when he got up and told the story of your adoption, which you were supposed to do together. For you, it was just too hard. Occasionally Sabo would reach over and rub your shoulder, while Ace and Luffy shared concerned glances.
After Marco finished speaking everyone was dismissed to caravan to the cemetery for the burial. It was snowing harder so not many people followed.
