12 January 2024: Crown Prince Hussein, accompanied by Princess Rajwa, attended the launch of a Jordanian exhibition at Gardens by the Bay in Singapore.
They toured the exhibition, which contributes to promoting tourism in Jordan and enhancing tourism exchange between Jordan and Singapore, and Crown Prince Hussein took part in planting the first Jordanian olive tree in the gardens.
The exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to view models of Jordanian archaeological sites, photo exhibitions of these sites, and examine mosaic pieces from the Church of St. Stephen in Umm Ar Rasas.
In addition, the exhibits include wild herbs that grow in Jordan, Dead Sea products, and a wide selection of handicrafts weaved by the Bani Hamida Women Weaving Project and the Jordan River Foundation, which represent part of Jordan’s cultural heritage. (Source: Petra)
Planting trees, flowers, and unique plants in Singapore’s gardens carries a symbolic meaning of strengthening its relations with the rest of the world, by enriching its natural environment.
Jordan’s embassy in Singapore is organising the month-long exhibition, in partnership with the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) and the Royal Botanic Garden, in cooperation with Gardens by the Bay.
Gardens by the Bay is one of the largest gardens in Singapore, as it receives nearly 14 million visitors annually. It showcases environmental technologies and a unique selection of plants from various climates, as well as seasonal flowers.
Two memoranda of understanding were signed on the sidelines of the exhibition’s opening, one between the JTB and the National Association of Travel Agents Singapore, and another between the Royal Botanic Garden and Gardens by the Bay.
Jordan’s Ambassador to Singapore Samer Naber attended the exhibition’s launch.

Plan Your Perfect Vacation: Best Time to Travel to Jordan and Egypt
Tumblr media
Discover the Ideal Seasons for Exploring Jordan and Egypt
Jordan and Egypt are two of the most fascinating destinations in the Middle East, each offering a unique blend of ancient history, vibrant culture, and stunning landscapes. Whether you’re drawn to the majestic pyramids of Egypt or the ancient city of Petra in Jordan, planning your trip during the right season can make a significant difference in your overall experience. Here are some tips to help you determine the best time to travel to Jordan and Egypt.
Why Timing Matters
The climate in both Jordan and Egypt can vary greatly depending on the time of year, impacting everything from the comfort of exploring outdoor attractions to the cost of travel. Understanding the seasonal weather patterns, tourist seasons, and local events can help you plan a more enjoyable and cost-effective trip.
Best Time to Visit Jordan
Spring (March to May)
Spring is one of the best times to visit Jordan. The weather is pleasantly warm, with daytime temperatures ranging from 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F). The landscapes are lush and vibrant, especially in areas like Petra and Wadi Rum. This is also a great time for outdoor activities like hiking and exploring ancient ruins.
Autumn (September to November)
Similar to spring, autumn offers mild and comfortable temperatures, making it another ideal season for visiting Jordan. The summer heat begins to wane, and the landscapes are still green from the recent rainy season. This is a perfect time to explore the historical sites and natural beauty without the peak summer crowds.
Best Time to Visit Egypt
Winter (October to April)
Winter is considered the best time to visit Egypt, especially if you plan to explore outdoor attractions like the pyramids, temples, and the Nile River. The weather is cooler and more pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F). This period also coincides with the peak tourist season, so it's advisable to book accommodations and tours in advance.
Spring (March to May)
Spring is another excellent time to visit Egypt. The temperatures start to rise, but they are still manageable, making it comfortable for sightseeing. The crowds are fewer compared to the winter season, allowing for a more relaxed experience at popular sites.
5 Quick Tips for Your Travel
1. Book in Advance
If you plan to travel during the peak seasons, it's essential to book your flights, accommodations, and tours well in advance. This will ensure you get the best options and avoid last-minute price hikes.
2. Pack Accordingly
Depending on the season, pack appropriate clothing and accessories. In winter and spring, light layers are ideal for Egypt, while Jordan might require slightly warmer clothing for the evenings. Don’t forget essentials like sunscreen, hats, and comfortable walking shoes.
3. Stay Hydrated
Regardless of the season, staying hydrated is crucial when exploring the deserts and ancient sites of Jordan and Egypt. Carry a reusable water bottle and drink plenty of fluids throughout the day.
4. Plan Your Itinerary
Make the most of your trip by planning a well-structured itinerary. Include the must-see attractions like Petra, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea in Jordan, and the Pyramids of Giza, Luxor, and the Nile Cruise in Egypt. Allocate time for rest and relaxation to avoid travel fatigue.
5. Respect Local Customs
Both Jordan and Egypt have rich cultural traditions and customs. Dress modestly, especially when visiting religious sites, and be mindful of local etiquette. Learning a few basic phrases in Arabic can also enhance your travel experience and show respect to the locals.
Popular Attractions to Include in Your Itinerary

Worthy Brief - July 19, 2024
Descend!
Matthew 23:11-12 But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whoever exalts himself shall be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.
Yeshua (Jesus) began His earthly ministry by being baptized in the Jordan river. The word Jordan in Hebrew is "Yarden" and its root is "yarad". It literally means to descend, which would make sense being that the Jordan descends from over 8,000 feet from Mount Hermon to the Dead Sea which sits more than 1,000 feet below sea level.
If we truly want to walk in the fullness of the Lord, we have to follow the example that Yeshua set before us. Yeshua descended from Heaven, He descended from glory, was baptized in the Jordan and fulfilled the calling that the Father bestowed upon Him by being our perfect sacrifice on Calvary. Yeshua totally and completely surrendered Himself to do His Father's will.
We too, must descend and surrender all that we are and all we have been given. We must truly give our lives, not for our own glory, but for His. Until we do that, we'll never be able to see all the blessings and opportunities the Lord has prepared for us since the foundation of the world.
Let's learn a lesson from the Yarden today. When we descend, we'll be lifted up! We'll see the blessings freely flow from a Heavenly source which will never run dry!
Shabbat Shalom and have a great weekend!
Your family in the Lord with much agape love,
George, Baht Rivka, Obadiah and Elianna (Missouri) (Orlando, FL)

Unveiling Wadi Mujib: Your Guide to Jordan's Epic Canyon Adventure
Wadi Mujib, also known as the "Grand Canyon of Jordan," is a breathtaking natural landmark that carves its way through the heart of Jordan. It's a paradise for adventure seekers, offering unparalleled hiking experiences within a stunning landscape. This guide equips you with the essential knowledge to plan your unforgettable Wadi Mujib adventure from Amman, Jordan's capital city.
Unveiling the Wadi Mujib Experience
Wadi Mujib boasts three distinct hiking trails, catering to various experience levels:
Wadi Mujib Siq Trail: This 2-3 hour trek is the most popular and least demanding. It winds through the canyon, with hikers wading through ankle-deep to waist-high waters. The trail culminates in a picturesque waterfall, offering a refreshing reward.
The Canyon Trail: This moderately challenging 3-4 hour hike takes you through a series of hills before descending to the Mujib River. You'll then conquer a 20-meter waterfall with the help of expert guides and explore the rich biodiversity of the canyon.
The Malaqi Trail: Calling all experienced adventurers! This challenging 5-7 hour trek is the ultimate Wadi Mujib experience. It follows rugged terrain before reaching the confluence of the Hidan and Mujib Rivers, aptly named "Malaqi" (meaning "confluence" in Arabic). Prepare for an exhilarating adventure with a refreshing break for swimming halfway through.
Planning Your Wadi Mujib Adventure
Here are some key pointers to ensure a smooth and enjoyable Wadi Mujib experience:
Embrace the Water: Strong swimming skills are essential. While life jackets are provided, unforeseen situations can arise.
Pack Smart: Wear comfortable, quick-drying clothing and sturdy shoes with good traction. Pack a waterproof bag for valuables and consider bringing a ziplock bag for extra protection. Reliable lockers are available for safekeeping belongings.
Minimum Age Requirement: The minimum age for entering Wadi Mujib is 18 due to the potential dangers associated with the trails, especially during heavy rain.
Reaching the Adventure: Public transportation isn't available. Renting a car from Amman allows for flexibility and scenic exploration. Alternatively, reputable travel agencies like Wonders Travel and Tourism offer tours that include transportation and entrance fees.
Tumblr media
Beat the Crowds: Aim for an early arrival (gates open at 8:00 AM) to avoid peak season crowds, particularly during the April-November tourist influx. Early mornings also offer cooler temperatures for the initial portion of the hike.
Weather Matters: Wadi Mujib is closed during rain and following heavy downpours for safety reasons. It's generally open throughout the summer months due to minimal rainfall. Check the forecast before your trip to avoid disappointment.
Expert Guidance: Hiring a guide is mandatory for the Canyon and Malaqi Trails. Even for the Siq Trail, consider a guide for added safety and a more enriching experience.
Post-Adventure Relaxation: After conquering Wadi Mujib, unwind at the Dead Sea, located nearby. Float effortlessly in the world's saltiest water body and indulge in the therapeutic Dead Sea mud. Wonders Travel and Tourism can create a seamless itinerary combining your Wadi Mujib adventure with Dead Sea indulgence.

Masada and Red Sea, Israel Plus eSIM cards, screenshot your map, money belts
This episode's FAQ is: Do I need a local SIM card?
Today’s Destination is The Dead Sea and Masada, Israel
Today’s Misstep- Screenshot your MAP before you travel
Travel Advice: Wear a money belt.
FAQ: Do I need a local SIM card?
Response: When you travel abroad, you don’t need a local SIM card anymore. It’s found in nearly every airport and is expensive, but you get your own phone number. It does involve opening your phone up.
Read the show notes if you want to try an esim and need help. I’ve been using an esim called Airalo for a year, and I have a referral code for you to save $3.00. It is MARY2856.
  https://www.airalo.com/blog/roaming-vs-international-sim-card-vs-local-sim-card-heres-what-to-know
Today’s destination: Israel (split into three parts, Jerusalem, Dead Sea/ Masada, and Tel Aviv. This episode is part 2 of three.
Because I was a solo female traveler, I booked a full-day tour of the Dead Sea and Masada. On my tour, I asked, “Where is the West Bank”?
I learned that it originally meant West of the Jordan River. Now, it is a shared space between Israelis and Palestinians. There are three settlement types here. Palestinian, Mixed, and total Israeli control has about 13 million people living there.
The land also has date trees, vineyards, and olive trees. With advances in agriculture, the soil has been cleansed from salt, so trees grow abundantly. There are many vegetables and greenhouses with drip irrigation, and I was told that cherry tomatoes were invented here.

Masada is part of Rift Valley. Masada is the last Judean stronghold not taken by Romans. In 70 AD, the temple was destroyed and never rebuilt.
Nine hundred thirty-two people went to Masada to escape the Roman Empire and lost. How did the Romans win? They built a ramp, had a catapult, and knocked down the wall.
A gondola brings you to the top of the mountain now. You see storage rooms with places where date trees grew. There were plenty of touristy things to do here in Masada, but the history made it come alive today for me.
The lake is dried up, mostly, with remnants of where the water used to be. Jordan Valley is 450 meters below sea level. Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered here.

Want to ride a camel? You may pay 20 shekels to ride and another 50 to get off.
West of the Jordan River, 13 million people, primarily Arab, Jews, and mixed.
Businesses are harvesting minerals and creams from the Dead Sea. For example, we stopped at a factory where Ahava is sold; sunscreen is $50. Mud is also sold here for $13.60. The mud comes directly from the Dead Sea in a bag. They say it is suitable for your skin. I did not purchase any.

People from around the world travel to the Dead Sea to bathe in its water and to cover themselves with its mud to relieve symptoms of skin conditions, including psoriasis and eczema, as well as rheumatoid arthritis, cardiac disease, respiratory illnesses, and more.

The Dead Sea has no fish. That’s not a joke because it’s poison.
Spend 20 minutes maximum in the water—no splashing, drinking, or tasting. Don’t get in your eyes. Don’t wet your head. Dangerous. My genital area was burning, so I think I was more sensitive than others. I didn’t stay in very long as my private parts were uncomfortable. While getting in and out of the water, I got two minor scratches on my hand. The mud felt oily and slick.

Naples - Amman and beyond; aka old ruins tour Part 2
Out with gritty, dirty, graffitied, boisterous Naples, and off to the Middle East. The Red Arrow train flew like the proverbial namesake - very smooth, passing Mum's tapestry test. That got us as far as Rome, then a different train experience out to the airport. Heavingly full, heavingly hot, but got the job done.
3 1/2 hours to Jordan, where we got whisked through from airport gate to hotel room with personal escorts.
This morning we headed north to Jarash (aka Jerash; local spelling seems to be Jarash) - "Rome away from Rome". It is one of the best preserved Roman cities, and quite quite spectacular. Quite a contrast to Pompei, with a lot more still standing (despite 3 major earthquakes over the millenia), MUCH less crowds, and much fewer restrictions about where you can go and what you can touch (in Jaresh, almost everywhere and almost everything!).
The local slushy was not quite what we expected, but very refreshing mint and lemon - almost a virgin mojito.
Next stop was Ajloun Castle, an important part of the postal system and defense against the evil Crusades. Jack will be able to tell us which crusade was which?! From the top of the castle, you are meant to be able to see to the Sea of Galilee, the Jordan River valley and the Dead Sea (north, west, south), and the West Bank. Unfortunately today was hazy, so we had to imagine that bit.
It is incredible to think about the flow of history through this area - the Persians, Greeks and Romans all had a crack, one after another, before a period of Arab kingdoms/dynasties, then the Ottomans! I kind of wish I had paid more attention to history lessons, but plenty of raw material to get my head around.
The north of Jordan is incredibly fertile. the ground looks like rock and sand, but it produces a huge amount of fruit especially. Lots of trees, huge olive groves.
Back at the hotel now, and planning our assault on dinner. Apparently Jordanians typically dine after 8 or 9pm, so maybe we will get in with the earlybird specials. Or maybe everywhere will be shut until later...
Loving Jordan so far. Petra tomorrow - v excited!
Cheers to all

Worthy Brief - February 21, 2024
Choose between the seas!
1 John 3:16-18 By this we know love of God, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
In Israel, we have an interesting geographical phenomenon – there are two landlocked seas. One is alive and one is dead. The sea full of life is the Kinneret, better known as the Sea of Galilee. The dead sea is…….you guessed it, the Dead Sea. Now the Kinneret is constantly emptying as it flows through the Jordan River valley…. into the Dead Sea. But the Dead Sea does not empty its water at all. Instead, the Dead Sea is continually shrinking, because the intense heat at this lowest place on Earth actually evaporates more water than is flowing in. Do you see a parable here?
The Sea that is alive is the one that gives. The more of your self, of your life, of your love, that you pour out, the more alive, filled up, and refreshed you will become. The Lord Yeshua (Jesus) exemplified this to the greatest extent ever, by giving all He was and all He had, even to those who hated Him and were His bitter enemies. And the love that He gave was returned to Him by His Father in the resurrection, and by all the multitude of His redeemed people throughout all ages and into eternity. Could it possibly be any different for those of us who live lives of giving and loving? No. We will continue to be filled by the Lord's infinite abundance no matter how much we pour ourselves out. Of course, if we hold back, keeping all we have to ourselves, we will begin to evaporate and die…
Give and you will live. Love, and you will be filled with God’s love. Hold back, and even that which you have will vanish away. A friend of mine shares this limerick:
There once was a sea that was dead It was, 'cause it only got fed And never gave up Not one single cup Now that's something to keep in your head
Let's be givers. Let's be lovers. Empty ourselves into His Kingdom, into His work, and be constantly refilled with His love, power and peace. With so much work to be done, I'm choosing the Sea of Life!
Your family in the Lord with much agape love,
