he would've been 66 years old :( people tend to judge his decisions a lot without having in mind or caring about all he went through, he deserved so much better. maybe he wasn't the greatest bassist ever but he was a great singer for sure and his personality was hilarious. r.i.p legend

Update on John Lydon (31/1/1956)

John Lydon had a terrible year in 2023 because he lost two soulmates. The one person he adored was his wife Nora who passed. This was in addition to his best friend Rambo who also passed. Rambo was "Lydon's minder, his hairdresser, his signet-ring designer, his fellow traveller, his mate." They both came from Finsbury Park.

But Lydon is back in a big way, so this is an update on what I wrote in 2021. He is taking on the challenge of dealing with these losses, showing an immense resilience. Neptune was exactly conjunct his Ascendant on his Solar Return chart for 2023. Neptune relates to loss and disappointment. No time to be lonely. The show ‘I Could be Wrong. I could be Right’ structure appears to be modelled on the Q&A that Quentin Crisp deployed in his talk tours. The first half he tells stories from his life and in the second he becomes a kind of oracle answering questions and dispensing Lydonesque wit and wisdom. There is a round up at the end when he gets everyone to sing ‘Anarchy in the UK’ together.

But Lydon can get very verbal and gobby (Mercury in Aquarius opposite Uranus in Leo) which is what people pay to hear. He just lets off with his opinions and toilet humour and the audience is guaranteed to enjoy being offended. The older he gets he is more of what he is, yet there is now a more measured, mellow feel to his statements.

The tour ran through 2024 up and down the country taking in just about ever forgotten town in the UK. So he must still have all his anger and energy. Has not lost his working-class roots and feels affiliated with them as originally from Irish immigrants who believed in being British. But he has the common touch which is very Aquarian, he’ll talk to anyone and make them feel like they are his new found friends. So tickets have sold out fast. But he does not tolerate fools gladly so watch out for a tongue lashing.

The tour is a kind of catharsis goes without saying and fans realise that he’s working out his inner demons with the audience in the room so it becomes open public therapy. Therapy is associated with Pluto and Pluto last year 2024 first dipped toes into Aquarius. So here is an example of what it can do for Aquarian sun signs over the next decade or so, especially if your sun is at the early degrees. Pluto will not arrive on Lydon’s Sun at 10° of Aquarius until 2030. Pluto arrives on his Chiron in 2028. Chiron is both maverick and healer. So we might see much more of this open therapy; and sure enough he has enjoyed the talking tour so much he is reforming his band PiL and they will do a tour in 2025. He’s on a roll right now so it’s good to honour him on his solar return today. Happy Birthday John.
