Note
recently discovered some fascinating hobbies for a few of the older tv men ive been submitting for the vintage tv polls and that got me wondering what (if any) strange/niche/unique hobbies have you ever encountered among classic film actors?
I think my favorite is Danny Kaye, who was apparently the type of guy who would fall in love with something and fall hard—he wanted to learn how to fly a plane, so he did; he conducted orchestras with 0 ability to read sheet music; he became so riveted by the art of Asian cuisine he started studying under master chefs Johnny Kan and Cecilia Chiang in their San Francisco restaurants, eventually building a separate kitchen into his house to support his obsession, which lasted the rest of his life. I just think that's neat.

OO3. ❲ PERSONAL INFORMATION ❳
PERSONALITY OVERVIEW┊ niko is someone introverted by nature, the kind of person who doesn't talk much or fare well in crowds of people, even with how friendly they seem. it's amusing to think about that fact because niko is in a group with a good 20 other guys, and he isn't good with people? well no, not naturally at least. he usually never talks during group conversations unless someone tells him to, and he likes to think of himself as a much better listener than talker. he can remember things others say for days, but can usually barely formulate his own words, afraid of them not making sense or tripping up and saying the wrong thing, or mispronouncing a word. niko hates talking in front of others because he overthinks even the simplest of things, and while the people he's talking to may not hate him, niko's gonna think they hate him anyway.
niko is someone who is very honest on most occasions, but he doesn't come off rude about it, it's just that niko cannot lie for the life of him, especially if it's about something important to the person he's talking to. he starts awkwardly laughing and avoiding eye contact, smiling until his cheeks hurt. the one thing niko hates doing more than anything is hurting people's feelings, but he also doesn't like lying to people because he feels like he's betraying their trust. if niko thinks something about someone, he's going to tell them at some point, because if he doesn't he's going to feel insanely anxious for the rest of his life. it's not that he wants to hurt people, but he feels that withholding the truth from someone is wrong, and he'd also want others to be as honest with him as he is with them.
niko is someone who rarely loses his cool, and if you ever see him angry, it's most likely an act. niko is rarely angry or even easily aggrieved. though he does have his moments, niko has always known how to control his temper, even as a child inexperienced with life and having no clue just how upset people in the future would make him. if he is upset, he won't say a word about it, he'll just hole himself up in his room and go through it all by himself. nikolas doesn't really talk to people about how he feels, resorting to suffering in silence than telling anyone about it. he doesn't really like talking about his business as it is, but whenever he's upset about anything, he has to be alone, it's really the only thing that could make him any less upset. he avoids talking to anyone when he feels upset or his feelings overwhelm him, as he's afraid of blowing up on them or saying something that he'll regret (which unfortunately, has happened in the past).
everyone has a bad trait, and niko would say his worst is that he's stubborn. you have to be some sort of sorcerer to be able to change niko's mind about something, if he's already decided on it in his head, he's not going to move. he will get into an argument with someone if it means not changing his mind, he doesn't like losing, he doesn't like admitting when he's wrong even the answer is right in front of his face, and though niko is very understanding and open-minded, he's often stuck in the same place for years because he refuses to acknowledge he's wrong. of course, this trait is much less prominent now then when he was thirteen, but niko will still get into dumb arguments with the members over stupid things he refuses to believe are true.

Happy Halloween! Today was October 31st, 2024 and it was definitely the weirdest Halloween ever! I woke up after getting some okay sleep and headed over to my chemistry discussion. I then headed to Kerkhoff where I went to get lunch with my friend Ms Sophia Wang at Ackerman and we had some good conversation! Then Ms Kelsey Chiang and Mr Johnny Jang took me out to try Honeymee and treated me. It was so delicious and I would definitely go again! I then knocked out for a two hour nap before going to my big’s apartment for the first time ever to go study with her and do our vlog! It was super cute and I missed my big so much! 🫶🫶 I then ended my day off servicing the community by handing out waters to people on frat row! I had a good time today and am now going to bed! 🤩

Sleep: I slept at around 12:30 am last night and woke up at 8:30 am this morning, so I got about 8 hours of sleep. I was supposed to get Dimsum with Mr. Ethan Liang this morning, but he smoked some weed last night and woke up after our supposed meeting time.
Ate: No dimsum :(. I actually had lunch with Mr. Ethan Liang and Mr. Johnny Jang instead. We went to bplate, and it was really good today. For dinner, I ate a burrito from rendezvous. I saw President Ms Kelsey Chiang, since she works there lol
What I did today: I caught up on alot of work. I wrote so many emails, finished my math homework, my life science pre class reading guide. I was hella productive today :)
Rating of day: 10/10 hella proud of myself for getting shit done. Im not caught up studying yet but i feel that next week will more manageable since I am building up the time management skills.

PauseTalk Vol. 86
Tumblr media
Oh what a night it was.
Following a hiatus of 8 years (Vol. 85 was held in 2015), PauseTalk was back for "one night only" on May 31, 2023 for Vol. 86. Held at FabCafe in Shibuya, it not only ended up being a warm reunion for many regulars from the original series, but also included quite a few new faces, which made it feel like a proper edition. Along with reminiscing of bygone days, new topics were brought up and discussed, and ideas were shared. And I got to blow out candles on cake that had my face on it (it was my birthday).
Although we didn't have the traditional attendance sheet printed out, everyone (hopefully) did contribute their names, which you'll find listed here:
Adrian Hogan
Benjamin Parks
Brian Scott Peterson
Calvin Chiang
Don Kratzer
Jean Snow
Jenny Yu
Jian Shen
Johnny Linnert
Judit Moreno
Luis Mendo
Mariko Suzuki
Mark Dytham
Matt Schley
Patrick Laffoon
Robert Zetzsche
Said Karlsson
Victoria Ying
Yuko Yoshikawa
I invite you to check out the Facebook photo gallery featuring photos contributed by Benjamin Parks, Brian Scott Peterson, and Don Kratzer.
The amazing sketches of some of the attendees (included in the photo gallery and at the bottom of this post) were drawn on the spot by Luis Mendo throughout the evening.
What about the future of Pausetalk? Although the intention was just to do a one-off event during my visit to Tokyo (my first proper visit since 2015), I would consider this Vol. 86 to be such a success and the reaction was so positive that I do plan on organizing more editions on my next visits, hopefully once or twice a year. Stay tuned for info on the next one by following the PauseTalk page on Facebook or via this very site.

Google Year in Search 2022 is an impressive list of favourite searches which capture our interest. This year, 2022, was one of many challenges, and by staying home for most of the year, searches via Google rose in Thailand and around the world. It is incredible to see how different, but also what interests people worldwide. Find it out.  Most Favourite Thailand destination in Google Search 2022 https://thailandeventguide.com/thailand-chiang-mai-events-guide/   People often search for the most favourite tourist destinations in Thailand, with Bangkok and Suphanburi topping the list, followed by Hua Hin and Chiang Mai. Thai people love to travel, and as soon as the borders open, there is an increased search for foreign tourist destinations. Singapore is the hottest place to be, while Vietnam and Laos won from the traditional locations of Japan and South Korea. A primary concern in Thailand was the State welfare card, which ranked number 1 on the list of most searches in 2022. Most searched news that was necessary for the Thais to know more about the shooting, the news around the Thai King and the war between Russia and Ukraine.    Best Shops in Thailand according to Google   When Thais look for shops, most searches on Google are around restaurants and sex shops, although the last one is illegal in Thailand. The favourite cafes that won the Google Search ist for 2022 are Lalita Cafe. Lalita is a cafe located in Chiang Rai. It offers a stunning backdrop while, other than expected, and you can find the restaurant in the urban area of the Chiang Rai province. Sparkling Cafe in Phuket is second-ranked on the list. The cafe offers a health concept and has well-varied drinks, desserts and Thai and Pasta food to check out. One topic that excites Thai people is Justin Bieber coming to Thailand with his Justice Tour as part of a World Tour. Bird Thongchai, BTS and Blackpink drove people down to see their shows. Unfortunately, after Bieber first had to postpone the tour, he had later to cancel the show for severe health reasons.   Thai Cooking is Yummy in Google Year in Search Cooking and Thai Food is an essential topic in Thai Culture, and you can notice the trend also on Google with lots of searches for Thai food recipes with simple meals topping the list, including chicken dipping sauce and boiled chicken with fish sauce. Nam Prik Ong, found in northern Thailand, is a popular search for this pork-based relish that balances the sweet acidity of tomatoes with savoury fermented soybeans and shrimp paste. How to cure Covid stood in third place in Google Search, while people wanted to learn more about ATK while not forgetting about the sticky mango rice to eat while searching for more serious stuff.   Google Year in Search around the World https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Go8nTmfrQd8 On a global scale, Google Search also found some interesting searches. The passing of Queen Elizabeth scored second, and Ukraine was first. The court fight between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard was top news in 2022, not to forget that Will Smith smashed Chris Rock on the Grammy stage, ultimately leading to the banning of Will Smith from the academy.   People are highly excited about cricket sports matches. In sports World Cup was noted first. Novak Djokovic was the best search of 2022. Rafael Nadel and Serena Williams didn't score poorly, either. In the game, India vs England scored first, followed by India vs South Africa.    https://youtu.be/4WXs3sKu41I   With love and thunder, Thor is the absolute winner of 2022, with Tom Cruise returning to the screen in Top Gun: Mavering ending as third. Black Adam scored second in the global list of movies.  The top scenic spots and landmarks go to England. Buckingham Palace and the Sky Garden are the absolute winners in the battle for searches, while Brazil, Indonesia and Egypt keep scoring high interest.   Keisya Levronka in the Global Google Search List http
s://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZYvZ7XfQU4   The most popular global artist search is Keisya Levronka with her hit song Tak Ingin Usai. She is an Indonesian singer with more than 4,1 million listeners on Spotify. The artist welcomes 984,000 subscribers on YouTube and scores as absolute number one. A strong follower searched for the dark song Pasoori from Ali Sethi and Shae Gill. The song has more than 475 million views on YouTube and is one of the Top 53 global videos. Surprisingly, most global searches do not even appear in Thailand year in search 2022. https://thailandeventguide.com/google-year-in-search-2022/?feed_id=1114&_unique_id=63a9d725d7e1e
