Note
recently discovered some fascinating hobbies for a few of the older tv men ive been submitting for the vintage tv polls and that got me wondering what (if any) strange/niche/unique hobbies have you ever encountered among classic film actors?
I think my favorite is Danny Kaye, who was apparently the type of guy who would fall in love with something and fall hard—he wanted to learn how to fly a plane, so he did; he conducted orchestras with 0 ability to read sheet music; he became so riveted by the art of Asian cuisine he started studying under master chefs Johnny Kan and Cecilia Chiang in their San Francisco restaurants, eventually building a separate kitchen into his house to support his obsession, which lasted the rest of his life. I just think that's neat.

Happy Halloween! Today was October 31st, 2024 and it was definitely the weirdest Halloween ever! I woke up after getting some okay sleep and headed over to my chemistry discussion. I then headed to Kerkhoff where I went to get lunch with my friend Ms Sophia Wang at Ackerman and we had some good conversation! Then Ms Kelsey Chiang and Mr Johnny Jang took me out to try Honeymee and treated me. It was so delicious and I would definitely go again! I then knocked out for a two hour nap before going to my big’s apartment for the first time ever to go study with her and do our vlog! It was super cute and I missed my big so much! 🫶🫶 I then ended my day off servicing the community by handing out waters to people on frat row! I had a good time today and am now going to bed! 🤩

Sleep: I slept at around 12:30 am last night and woke up at 8:30 am this morning, so I got about 8 hours of sleep. I was supposed to get Dimsum with Mr. Ethan Liang this morning, but he smoked some weed last night and woke up after our supposed meeting time.
Ate: No dimsum :(. I actually had lunch with Mr. Ethan Liang and Mr. Johnny Jang instead. We went to bplate, and it was really good today. For dinner, I ate a burrito from rendezvous. I saw President Ms Kelsey Chiang, since she works there lol
What I did today: I caught up on alot of work. I wrote so many emails, finished my math homework, my life science pre class reading guide. I was hella productive today :)
Rating of day: 10/10 hella proud of myself for getting shit done. Im not caught up studying yet but i feel that next week will more manageable since I am building up the time management skills.
Time Stamp: 7:09 pm

PauseTalk Vol. 86
Tumblr media
Oh what a night it was.
Following a hiatus of 8 years (Vol. 85 was held in 2015), PauseTalk was back for "one night only" on May 31, 2023 for Vol. 86. Held at FabCafe in Shibuya, it not only ended up being a warm reunion for many regulars from the original series, but also included quite a few new faces, which made it feel like a proper edition. Along with reminiscing of bygone days, new topics were brought up and discussed, and ideas were shared. And I got to blow out candles on cake that had my face on it (it was my birthday).
Although we didn't have the traditional attendance sheet printed out, everyone (hopefully) did contribute their names, which you'll find listed here:
Adrian Hogan
Benjamin Parks
Brian Scott Peterson
Calvin Chiang
Don Kratzer
Jean Snow
Jenny Yu
Jian Shen
Johnny Linnert
Judit Moreno
Luis Mendo
Mariko Suzuki
Mark Dytham
Matt Schley
Patrick Laffoon
Robert Zetzsche
Said Karlsson
Victoria Ying
Yuko Yoshikawa
I invite you to check out the Facebook photo gallery featuring photos contributed by Benjamin Parks, Brian Scott Peterson, and Don Kratzer.
The amazing sketches of some of the attendees (included in the photo gallery and at the bottom of this post) were drawn on the spot by Luis Mendo throughout the evening.
What about the future of Pausetalk? Although the intention was just to do a one-off event during my visit to Tokyo (my first proper visit since 2015), I would consider this Vol. 86 to be such a success and the reaction was so positive that I do plan on organizing more editions on my next visits, hopefully once or twice a year. Stay tuned for info on the next one by following the PauseTalk page on Facebook or via this very site.

Stuff my 8yr old sister said while I was watching NCT Life in Chiang Mai ep 1
Which group is this? Is it MCT again? (I corrected her)
Why are they on a plane?
Do their parents let them go by them self to Thailand? (I didn’t have the heart to tell her so I said yes 💀)
I like the one who has the Pokémon ball (it was Taeyong lmao)
Woah they have so many girls waiting for them oo (I told her they were fans)
That’s such a big house they must be rich ( 💀)
they’re so bad at bottle flipping
Are they going to do this all night? they have to sleep
why did they make him stand alone
Why can’t they just go in any bed? Stop fighting (IM FUCKING CRYING THIS IS SO FUNNY LMAO)
this one looks liek a candy cane (SHE WAS TALKING ABOUT JAEHYUN AND OMG HE DOES)
they keep playing Rock Paper Scissors
^^^btw I’m like explaining what’s going on to her
Omg he broke the camera
Why is he wearing a hat inside (she was talking about Taeyong lol)
So lmao I was just watching this on TV and she was watching something else on her iPad but everytime she looked up to what I was watching she kept saying funny stuff so I thought I’d write it down cos it’s too funny for me to forget lol yeet bye
