Happy Birthday, Johann Baptist Hagenauer (1732-1810)
Gefesselter Prometheus
0 notes
It's DAY 4 of Year of MTG
Todays pick for favorite art is:
Blessing of the Nephilim' by Greg Hildebrandt
Blue, purple and pink color schemes are some of my favorites! And seeing a mostly black, blue, purple and pink piece of art on a mono white card is very unusual but extremely cool!
The art itself is just pretty! All of these bright colors in front of a black background give the whole piece a very mysterious, magical mood. The colder, greenish glow of the gloves add a nice little contrast right at the centre of the painting. Very cool!
And my pick for favorite card in general today is:
'Chained to the Rocks'
Apart from beeing a very reasonable piece of removal, its incredibly flavorful! Referencing the tale of Prometheus' eternal punishment in greek mythology for bringing the humans fire.
'Gefesselter Prometheus' by Johann Baptist Hagenauer
Funny enough, he wasn't the only one in greek myths to get chained to a rock.
Andromeda gets chained to a rock in the sea as a sacrifice to the sea monster sent by Poseidon to destroy the coastal areas of her home, after her mother boasted that Andromeda was more beautiful then the Nereids (sea nymphs)
'Andromeda chained to the rock' by Domenico Guidi
That's all for today!
Thank you for reading and see you tomorrow!
