If this were the 90s, there would be three romcoms greenlit, because of India Ria Amarteifio and Corey Mylchreest's chemistry alone.

Every time I see them being all cute, I think this sucks. There won't be a season 2. We'll never see them together again.
I mean Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks had umpteen romcoms. Why can't we? Actors are literally asking for them. They are tired of doing all this dark murder shit people want to have fun at the movies.
Hollywood is wasting chemistry.

We're only like half an hour in, but so far Joe vs the Volcano feels. Chestertonian, somehow. Ex-suicide energy.
(admittedly: it also brings the one and only time I watched Office Space to mind. Hints of Fight Club. With bits of Stranger than Fiction.)

I just realized the Secret Life of Walter Mitty is basically just a less weird and more inspirational Joe Verses the Volcano.
I’m not sure how I feel about this.

Sorry, I've only seen Clueless (1995) once or twice but I've seen Joe Versus The Volcano (1990) about a million times and I see this actor saying "arguing" and all I can think of is our introduction to his JvtV character (Horrible Boss) where we witness his side of a boring, annoying phone convo:
But can he do the job. I know he can get the job but can he DO the job? I'm NOT arguing that with you. I'm not arguing that with YOU. I'm not ARGUING that with you. I'm not ARGUING that with you Harry! Harry… Harry… Yeah Harry… but can he DO the job. I know he can GET the job but can he do the job?
(source - that's the mercifully abridged version, btw)

With its uniquely '90s title and concept (thanks to America Online), You've Got Mail has now reached the 25-year anniversary mark. It marked the third collaboration between Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, following the acclaimed Sleepless in Seattle, which itself followed the less-acclaimed Joe Versus the Volcano. But, by the time Hanks and Ryan agreed to star in You've Got Mail, the chemistry they'd shared in the previous two films had earned them comparisons to some of the great couples from Hollywood's Golden Age, including the gold standard of Spencer Tracy and Audrey Hepburn. While Hanks might not have thought that was the proper comparison, he couldn't deny that he and Ryan shared something special on the screen.
You've Got Mail is available on DVD, Blu-Ray, and most digital platforms.
