Says the grown women who was 27-year-old when she entered the relationship with a fully developed brain. She was also older than him by an entire year. Remember that theory that celebrities are emotionally stunted at the age they became famous? Yeah it's coming into play here. She tries to make herself out to be younger than she is, and make it out like she was being taken advantage of, when in reality she was a whole adult.

It's funny cause I do really like So Long, London. There are a lot of things I like about the song, the opening with the choir is great. But I'm not really here for her 'I'm always the victim mentality.' I think the song has some great moments - but what continues to hold her back is the lack of self awareness.

Before anyone comes at me, I write this stuff not because I'm some hater, but because I think analysing things are interesting, but also because I'm not some blind follower.

I don‘t think taylor wants joe back but i do think taylor wants all her exes to want her back. She wants them to stalk her every move, she wants them to see how overly happy she is right now. And to me this is more messed up than wanting somebody back, because it is seeking out the others opinion. She wants them to be just as bombarded with her like how some fans feel. And i find this messed up because to me those people never fully move on, and never will be fully happy. Taylor liking posts about her exes (she did so during ttpd release week, ranking her exes- that needs its own opinion from me cause that is vile) and now she is seen looking at joe update accounts, it just paints a picture of a person who seeks the approval of her exes like she seeks the validation of the public. And taylor seems to base her self worth on the opinion of the general public and on the way her exes react to her. Notice how she is to this day annoyed about how jake never even spared her a look after the break up?

We know that she's petty and dwells on the past, so I'm not surprised that she holds a grudge against Joe, but I am surprised that she's happy to let her fans and the public know that she holds a grudge. It's not a good look.

like come on guys y'all know that not a single one of those break up albums paint any of the guys in a good light (and i don't know enough about what they did to say whether it's justified or not, but i do know that their all painted as bad people).

So the fact that the album is primarily about Matty should say that Joe wasn't that bad. Like no-one in their right minds would want to have their entire reputations destroyed by an album, so like why the hell would he be upset that the album is not about him?

Like i want the logic? Cause weren't y'all swifties the ones who were hating him and hyping this album up as "all the shit he did is gonna come out" but now when it's not about him, y'all are saying look how shit he is because he didn't get an album? As far as i'm aware getting an album probably makes you shittier right?

this probably won’t make sense because it’s an unfinished thought in my brain but there’s such bittersweet irony for me in the fact that Joe was so desperate to not be known as ‘Mr Taylor Swift) which is SO valid that he kind of forgot to actually let anyone in on who he was or at least wanted to be perceived as to the point where being Taylor’s ex/william bowery is now the thing he’s most known for… and it’s tricky because he’s a compelling actor but also he hasn’t worked in a couple of years and that doesn’t make sense (unless he’s taking an intentional break) and hates doing press because he was so consumed with not talking about The Thing™️ that there’s very little else to shape the public knowledge of him unfortunately. I’m not saying he had to talk about her more but the less he did, the more of a media ‘gotcha’ it becomes whereas he could’ve taken the air out of it really really easily and made space for other things but actively chose not to.

contrast that with Travis who arguably was never going to be swallowed by his dating life (he’s established enough on his own) who relishes being connected to Taylor and intentionally pursued her in such a public way/doesn’t have to be asked about her. yes people still want to know and they’re hounds for details but it’s so much more normal instead of being this big elephant and I don’t know… I just hate that she ever felt she had to dull her shine because it turns out not doing that has actually been easy this whole time

It's the fact that Taylor started her relationship with Joe by clearing her throat (Ready For It...) and ended it with a shaky sigh of disbelief that she is back here once again after thinking this was golden; this was forever that made my heart break for her. The sadness and disappointment in her sigh are truly sad.

I feel like I need to put this out before it all consumes me, those who need to put Joe down to pull Travis or Taylor surely didn't grow out of their highschool mentality. Sometimes people don't work out, are not ready to get married, and want to keep private life "private" to keep the peace. And sometimes love is not enough for two very fundamentally different people to stay and work it out together. Doesn't make either of them a bad/worse person. Also, someone else's win/networth in life isn't equivalent to how happy that person is.

Tbh, I got to know joe when he started dating Taylor however from that moment onwards I have nothing but respect for him, his future work and his perspective. Few people in this entertainment line have integrity like him or his family.

Swifities need to let go of this mentality. We are the reason Taylor got the serial dater labels. And a fandom that has grown so much with Taylor, it all became worthless because of this kind of behaviour.

Just let it all go!

i think the recent surge (starting from the matty situation to the ttpd release) of swifties turning into ex-swifties somewhat separates the mature ex-fans from the obsessive childish current fans. i think a lot of ex-fans (including myself) got into taylor's music sometime between 2019-2022 when she was being influenced by joe and brought out thoughtful, poetic songs like the ones on evermore and folklore. none of her other albums, before or after that have been on the same level as those folkmore.

that's not to say that joe wrote 90% of her songs on folkmore, but his being well educated in literature and poetry definitely helped taylor step up with her own music. the music, lyricism, theme, etc of these two albums are in stark contrast with anything else she's ever released, because she didn't have joe during those times. and it shows.

i strayed a bit off topic lol. but basically, what i mean to say is: the mature, grown up fans have been seeing her for who she really is, while the 30 year old teenagers are defending her like their lives depend on it. it's very telling of taylor herself (she's a 30 year old teenager too) AND her fans.

i totally agree and have witnessed this. the first swifties i know to drop her from the matty healy incident got into her during folk/evermore eras. i had no idea joe had a literary background 💀 i wonder why he helped on those two albums only. were they dating her rep era or was that hiddleston? and they were still together during midnights. wtf happened?
