A patron came in to the library a few weeks ago looking for a copy of "The Tale of Peter Rabbit". She said she wanted to replicate Peter's coat for her daughter's rabbit. From the time SXSW audiences began buzzing last year, I’ve been bursting to get US eyeballs in front of this film. For the impact. For the creativity. And for the message of representation, subversive as it might be. Disabled actors exist. We are good at our craft. Our stories deserve to be told. We deserve space in front of and behind the camera. Our narrative arcs might begin with our disability but they do not have to end there.

Maybe this is captain obvious or a coincidence but it just clicked for me that in the all too well short film Taylor’s character has bled at the typewriter and turned those experiences into a book and then she wrote a song called the manuscript (the name given to an unpublished book) about whole saga including the experience of making the short film…
