"It's definitely an exciting sight to see Hamilton in a Ferrari. Not to mention his new race engineer Y/n L/n who has just moved up from F2." Martin Brundle added.

"I'm really looking forward to what the two have in store today."

"Kravitz over to you."

Ted was walking around the track attempting to speak to Lewis before the race began. He caught a glimpse of Hamilton speaking to an interviewer beside his car.

"How are you feeling about today's race?" the interviewer said, holding the mic up to Lewis.

"I'm feeling pretty confident. The car was really good in testing, we had some good pace in quali, and I'm excited to work with Y/n this season."

"Speaking of Y/n L/n, do you think it will be a big mistake for Ferrari to bring her on the team? Especially as your engineer... knowing how much is on the line?"

"She's phenomenal at what she does and I trust no one more than her to get the job done."

"Don't you think there's some other people that have more experience than she does working in motorsports...?"

"Y/n has climbed up the ranks from f4, 3, 2, and now 1 just like the rest of us. If you're suggesting that she'll be a worse engineer because she's a woman, no. She won't be."

"That's- I wasn't saying she wasn't a good engineer because she's a woman. There's always risk when bringing on a new member. I was wondering if you think the risk is worth the potential reward."

"There's of course always the possibility that your race engineer is not a good fit for you as a driver, but there's not a larger risk due to the fact that she's not a man."

The interviewer continued to stumble over his words. Lewis' PR manager walked over to him, whispered something in his ear, and they both strolled away.

The camera panned to you in your seat in the garage with your headset on, carefully analyzing the data on the screen in front of you.

"You know I've worked with a fair share of awful male engineers in my day." Martin said on his mic and Crofty laughed softly.

Lewis had won the first race of the season which caused an eruption of applause from the crowd. The team let you stand on the podium to receive the constructors cup in their honor. It was definitely a day for the history books.

“this was newjeans’ y/n,” “and this was enhypen’s ni-ki! please look forward to our future projects. we may no longer mc together, but we will forever be a couple together. thank you everyone!”

the cameras stopped rolling, and the red light turned off which signaled the recording was over.

staff and crew rushed to the both of you, so you were immediately bombarded with baskets of fruit, chocolates, snd two flower bouquets.

“this is for a good few months of connecting together. thank you for your hard work and dedication.” the head of the staff greeted, as his assistants handed out your gifts.

“thank you sir. we look forward to seeing more of you in the future!” the two of you bowed, before leaving to head backstage.

“dani said she’s gonna come with everyone else to pick us up. they want to get dinner at that chicken spot to celebrate our contract ending.” you informed riki, turning to show the texts in the group chat as he finished changing out his stage outfit.

“sunoo! she’s underage! all i got her were 2 shirley temples.” danielle gasped.

“okay! enough. we’re in public.” riki announced. “baby? go ahead my love.” he gestured sweetly for you to make your speech.

“thanks ‘ki.” you smiled. “i’m pretty happy our managers decided to let us have a joint interview that day. if we didn’t, me and riki probably would’ve never met. so, i’m glad music bank happened. otherwise, i couldn’t call this kid here my boyfriend.” you spoke, moving to wrap your arms around riki in a soft hug.

“cheers!” everyone exclaimed in awe.

as your group members around you yelled out congratulatory speeches, all riki could think about was you.

because now that you could be in his arms in public with no repercussions, that was all that mattered.

you looked at him with a bright smile, and riki could feel his heart melt as your expression.

the world had one less lonely girl.

personal post moment bc i am so happy rn. i haven’t been able to work in over six months bc of my ✨special cocktail of medical issues✨, and with treatment not working my doctors were starting to recommend that i apply for disability which was obviously a hard pill to swallow. but then randomly a couple weeks ago a company i’d interviewed with previously (for a job that i’d no longer be capable of doing anyway, but i really liked the company and their philosophies) reached out with a new different opportunity that just happened to be perfect for the capabilities i have right now, and today i officially accepted the offer!! it’s remote work in social media outreach for a fitness and nutrition company, so it’s super flexible according to my needs and is an amount and type of work that i can do sustainably for the long term. i’m just so happy because i really am passionate about my field and hadn’t seen any option to be able to stay in it, and then this just fell into my lap as if it was perfectly catered to exactly what i can do right now with my limitations. #industry🎉🎉

11.3.23 — Despite getting up late and feeling so distracted today, I did everything on my study to-do list. I'm getting anxious about my visit to family (my flight is on the 12th), and I suddenly have a job interview video due on November 7th.

Anyhow, the main thing I learned today is how to ask what something is in Korean (i.e., 안국어로 뭐예요?). I also completed a vocabulary quiz due Monday (got 100% 🎉), worked through a textbook conversation (which just involves listening to the audio and translating what they’re saying to make sure I understand), and started one of the two assignments I have left this week. We have to do a recording of ordering a drink at Starbucks (it's practice with 주세요), so it’s pretty simple. The other assignment will definitely take more time.

A gripe I have with our vocabulary quizzes is that she'll add in several words we haven’t learned yet, and these are very short, timed tests (usually 5 minutes per 10 questions), and I don’t really get this as a learning method, like how does this help students? It would make more sense if we just had all words beforehand so we can study them. Trying to figure out what it means by sounding it out alone isn't really possible, that is, you can't sound out a word and then therefore know what it means unless it happens to be an English word in Hangeul, like 컴퓨터. So I either have to use the process of elimination or Google translate it. I just don't see the point, lol. Anyways, mini rant over.

I GOT A NEW JOB!!! 🎉🎉🎉 And it’s full time (FINALLY)!! I just interviewed on Tuesday & was told it would take 2 weeks for a decision, but I got the email telling me I got it TODAY.

I am so, so happy. I’ve been wanting a full time job for so long & now I got it. I thought this year would be shut since my breakup, but it’s turning out to be so good 🥹🥹 God has me fr & he has YOU TOO.

Please don’t give up, y’all. I’m telling you: IT WILL GET BETTER.

- I managed to log out of tumblr for a grand 24 hours or so. I wish I could say it made me more productive, but I tend to just look at reddit instead. To my credit I did do some reading before bed in place of scrolling, and actually attempted to work on my CV today... before the program crashed and everything was lost 🙄

- I finally bought a new phone, after my old one had gotten to a truly unendurable level of dysfunction (I told myself I simply could not go to job interviews with such a device, which for the past few months has been held together with tape and good fortune, taking at least five attempts to coax the screen on, refusing to run even two apps at once, and freezing at a rate the polar ice caps would envy...) The only benefit of waiting so long is that the regardless of what model I acquire, I'm always blown away by the most basic functionality, much less whatever technological advances have manifested in the past couple years (I am pleased this thing takes tolerable photos in low(er) light though).

- Today I met up with a new language exchange buddy I met while volunteering for the LGBT nonprofit. She picked a cafe I'd coincidentally been recommended by someone else because they used to host linocut classes (indeed the walls were full of interesting art). The reviews, though, suggested the baristas had an attitude, and thus I was a little apprehensive when the door was affixed with multiple signs proclaiming "Full, do not come in" in Chinese (my acquaintance had already staked out a table inside). I sustained some dubious looks upon entry before hastily explaining I was here to meet someone. I am quite sure the exorbitant price for a tiny sandwich was more of a fee for enjoying the atmosphere (and being graced with the presence of the intimidatingly aloof, attractive staff) than a reflection of the ingredients...

- Of course the one day I didn't bring an umbrella it started pouring as I was on the train, and while in theory I knew there was some sort of underground bookstore near Zhongshan Station, I'd never actually been in there, nor known how far the complex extended- it's huge! I was able to pop out of an exit quite near the café and make a swift dash for it. Later on I decided to go for a walk before getting on at a farther stop, and was treated to the sight of a middle aged man dressed all in black with a long ponytail and the wispiest of pompadours still arising proudly from his scalp mount a ludicrously large cruiser and rev it, the very picture of washed up motorcycle gangster...

- In totally unrelated news, the avocado pit I have been trying to sprout has put forth a root 🎉

- I may try to log out of tumblr more often, but never fear, the queue will go on for months even if I meet an untimely end crossing the road or something (as one does in Taiwan).

Well it's that time of year again. I actually missed #artvsartist last year because I was in the middle of job interviews. This year I have basically no new art because I got a job as an Associate Environment Artist! So I figured I would catch up on sharing my work from 2022.

2022 and 2023 have been huge years for me.

First I wrapped up my character design class with Devon Cady-Lee. This was a great experience and I highly recommend him as a teacher! I feel like I learned a lot in both design thinking and execution.

Then I got my first professional art gig with Ambertail Games doing item and prop concept art. I am so grateful for this wonderful opportunity. The team was great wo work with and the art direction was so fun. I can't wait to see Amber Isle come to life and play it!

I decided to use the extra money from the Ambertail gig to take some more art classes and explore different art fields, since I had been waffling about what career to pursue. I ended up taking a the Creating Stylized Game Assets CGMA class by Ashleigh Warner. I had been dabbling in 3D game art for quite some time and wanted to take a real stab at learning it properly.

This ended up being a great decision because I totally fell in love with the process of 3D environment art. I felt like the work was a good combination of my artistic and technical thinking skills. I really enjoy the planning aspect of it, and finding creative solutions to optimize or achieve certain results.

Fast forward to today, and I have been employed as an environment artist on World of Warcraft with Blizzard Boston for almost a year! 🥳🎉 It is still kind of unbelievable looking back and seeing how much I have achieved these past 2 years. I have wanted to be a professional artist my whole life and that dream has come true! Not only that, but I get to work on an IP that I love and with an awesome team at a stable company. I mean WHAT?! I am so grateful to be given these opportunities, and so glad I never gave up on this dream.

YOU GUYS! I GOT THE JOB! 🙌🥳🥹🎉

Tasha, one of the ladies I interviewed with last month, called me today to offer me a job as new grad nurse resident on the floor I wanted!! I am STOKED! The base pay is even $2 more than I was expecting, I'll be working nights so I'll get paid $4 extra per hour for night shift differential, AND they have a $10k sign on bonus if you sign a 3 year contract. I am okay with that! There are many different departments at this hospital, if I end up not liking this one I can transfer. I have no doubt I can last 3 years, if I'm content I could probably stay the rest of my career (that's how much I hate changing jobs unless it's necessary for my mental health).

I will be getting info from HR about start-up requirements and the physical and stuff. I'll start in early June, first with some training and classroom stuff for the residency, then I'll start official orientation on the floor. My best friend from class also got a job on this floor so we will be working together 😊

I can't believe this is happening 😁😁😁 I'm so glad I can spend the rest of the semester, 50 days, focusing on classwork, exams, my care plan, and the NCLEX. I don't have to worry about finding a job or waiting for a phone call. I have been on cloud 9 all day 🥰🥰
