GATCHAMAN+

...AKA what’s been keeping me sane while I spent every other waking moment animating over the past week.

If you watch my DokiDraws videos you may remember hearing me mention “an anime from the 1970′s” in this one-- well, this is it. ^^ And when I finally came up with some good redesign ideas a couple nights ago, I figured I might as well dive in. Better to have too much content for the eventual videos than too little. :D

I’m looking forward to talking about Gatchaman in the future, and explaining a little bit about the history of the concept and characters, as well as my own ideas for a re-imagining~. I’ll give you a hint: my biggest hit of inspiration came when I said to myself, “pretend this is a magical girl anime”. ^^

The S-Force capes are particularly reminiscent of Gatchaman.

The S-Force's theme music is very similar to the theme to Battle of the Planets, the Sandy Frank-created series that was the first English adaptation of Gatchaman.

The S-Force's name is a reference to G-Force, the name the Gatchaman team had in Battle of the Planets.

One of the S-Force's attacks consists of forming into a cheerleading-style pyramid and quickly whirling around, which was the Gatchaman team's signature move.

so global enstars is having a collab with detective conan and i am not satisfied with the 6 charas they had (cone, shinichi, hattori, kid, amuro and akai) and made more of who I'd add :D

My finished page for the Detective Conan Fanzine focused on Movies 1 to 26! Check out everyone's beautiful art and writing!! The zine is out and free-to-download! I was assigned M25, The Bride of Halloween, and went ahead with many little bits of symbolism (can you spot them?)....I really enjoyed doing this piece!

I have "moved" my Twitter account to Bluesky now. Tumblr stays as is.
