Lingsha apparently only detects the smell of rain on Yanqing and that makes me wonder about the other potential meanings.

Why specifically rain? My thoughts go in all sorts of directions in terms of analysis and theory, thinking about his element of ice or where he'd have to be around to smell like rain of all things (or I'm just thinking too deeply into it haha, but there is a reason they put this sort of stuff here ToT). And it makes me think about Jing Yuan somewhat too since his element is lightning.

Hi!! I just had this idea stuck after seeing that Jing yuan PFP from the battlepass ToT and I couldn't stop thinking of a royalty masquerade-esk au of meeting him for the first time and then suddenly finding out they're arranged to marry him! your makeup brush was carefully placed back; you grabbed the mask with a refined touch, and placed it over your eyes. as you calmly sauntered to the ballroom, your eyes scanned the room. Most of the guests has arrived already - your parents were chatting with the rulers of the divine foresight kingdom.

amongst the crowd, people from the cloudford, navalia, exalting and divination empires had arrived, and for what reason? you didn’t even know.

“One look, dark room meant just for you”

you started humming softly to the music as you scanned the crowd, and In that crowd, a certain man stood out. maybe it was the way he carried himself, the gentle face he put on - or he was just not wearing a mask to a masquerade.

“Time moved to fast, you played it back.” “Buttons on a coat, light hearted joke”

you figured since you had nothing better to do, you’d go up to him and Initiate conversation.

“No proof, not much, but you saw enough” ��Small talk, he drives, coffee at midnight”

“ah. evening, princess [name]” he greeted elegantly; with a gentle tug he reached for your hand and kissed it, well-mannerly.

you smiled in response. “evening…”

“jing yuan, divine foresight kingdom.” He said with a gentle look - the divine foresight kingdom was known for their military.

“would you like a drink, my lady?” he asked tranquilly.

“The light reflects the chain on your neck” “he says, ‘look up’ and your shoulders brush” “No proof, one touch, but you felt enough”

you both sip on your drink while chatting, inquiring here and there and listening to what the other person was saying.

“may I have everyone’s attention.” your mother then interrupts all the chatter. you and jing yuan’s attention fixated towards the top of the staircase, there, your father was on the left, jing yuans parents on the right.

“You can hear it in the silence, silence.”

everybody paused, their attention focused upfront as they confusingly dazed at your mother. The only noise being the background music.

“you, you can feel it on the way home, way home.”

you glanced at jing yuan, only to find him looking at you just as clueless as the rest.

“I wonder what’s happening, and why both of our parents are up there.” you mumbled softly to him, earning a nod from him.

“You can see it with the lights out, lights out”

Your mother cleared her throat softly, before speaking up again.

“We’d like to announce a very special event.” She then paused, then signaled for you two to come up, and you both obliged.

you were on the same side as your father, while jing yuan was on his parents side. Your mother grabbed both of your wrists, somewhat aggressively.

“we’d like to announce the marriage of princess [name] and prince jing yuan.”

i think i'll discontinue the mara's will

i've talked about this before, i voiced my own thoughts about the series - but to those who don't recall or haven't seen it, it's honkai star rail fic purely based on raw inspiration from a song (tot musica from one piece, by ado) accompanied with the growing interest of honkai impact 3rd again.

i enjoyed writing that fic immensely, and i had intentions of ONLY making it as an open ending to a chaos, the ending of chapter 1. it was very much intentional as i previously stated.

but then the overwhelming support and a tremendous amount of asks and commente for it to be continued happened.

resulting in my people pleasing problem to resurface, so i listened when i shouldn't have, giving myself to the pressure and expectations, instead of letting it stay the way it is, not to mention - even with the xianzhou arc over, or... somewhat since the appearance luocha in the end, i have no idea where the mara's will, will lead.

i can't muster up any ideas for it right now, maybe because i'm in a state of burnout once again, or maybe the expectations for it, or perhaps it is a series that is already probably forgotten lmao - either way idc, my brain is tired trying to force ideas about that series, a series that was originally supposed to be an open ending oneshot for YOU to imagine yourself.

don't get me wrong, the support was more than fulfilling, it brought me joy, but i honestly shouldn't have listened to the pleads, i should've listened to my own needs and instinct.

it was perfect as it is, but in the end, i chose the variety's choice instead of my own satisfaction — and that is a failure to myself, doubting my own ideals and creativity, denying my own will.

i would also be terrified i cannot even imagine but i also imagine he would only let that happen in an emergency situation so adrenaline would be pumping!! just the thought of it makes me shudder tho

Also I literally spent all day yesterday using ALL my trailblaze powder or w/e its called farming for Ratio to see if he would improve my chances only for my team with him to be mutilated in the first phase ToT. I do think my current team is best since Jing Yuan has a great aoe + follow up and Himeko + Harmony TB work well since her follow ups rely on break effect.

If I keep dying even after levelling up all the traces and w/e I might have to start grinding for Bailu since she can revive one character. Would suck getting rid of Luocha's auto healing but i think if i save my points right then it wont be a problem- Plus her ult heals the whole party which Luocha's doesn't, so it kinda works out? Idk

Yesss like I literally live WxS because you can have so many silly headcanons and they somehow match the character no matter how silly they are!!

And poking fun is real. Honestly me to all PJSK boys except Toya because he's a baby and I somehow can't bring myself to it even jokingly...

But yeah I get the need for primos! I skipped like whole event so I'm just praying Lyney will take his time with his rerun ToT

I mean both Herta and Jing Yuan are so silly, they should be serious because they have high positions but they're not fully and that's what I love so much!!

Also yeah, I really thought of maining Dam Heng but I guess I just prefer characters that can hit many opponents at once.

But kinda same for me! I remember most wishing for Kafka because of DMG and my only thought was "she's pretty" (like with most part of my teams tho-) But I do plan to build my 2nd Star Rail team with supports so we'll see how it goes!

And I use physical for Stelle! I didn't really like the fire since it makes everyone focus on Stelle and I'm NOT healing her this often ToT

I really wish there were more explorations of yanqing being groomed into his role also, like he would deny it to death but everything that he takes pride in he was groomed into doing, his position in the Cloud Knights, his title as Sword Champion, his place at Jing Yuans side… it’s easy to read into it!!! Yuanqing is an easy assumption to make as soon as you realize that a 14 year old shouldn’t be a military lieutenant no matter how skilled of a swordsman he is.

Reminds me of Childe from genshin and his experiences with being in the military at a too young age, I’ve seen plenty of people talk about how he was groomed into it, but bc Jing Yuan and the Luofu are arguably the good guys so I’ve only seen like, you talking about it

oh? i did talk with some yuanqing shippers and we did touch on this sometimes but i don't touch the "yanqing is jing yuan's son" side of the fandom so i honestly do not know that like the whole idea of "yanqing being groomed into the military" is not a popular topic outside?

tbh, i don't interact with the wider fandom so like to be honest, i don't know everything about what is popular and what is not. but i would think that yanqing is a trove of angst, there should have been at least some exploration of this whole "being groomed into the military" aspect of his lore.

but anyway, yes! yanqing has been stumbling after jing yuan ever since he was even younger than in canon right now. he even helped around at the seat of divine foresight, according to his character story too!

jingliu's trailer did talk a bit about yanqing's decision to learn swordsmanship at such an early age. i have beefs with that one trailer because there are lines that don't exactly match yanqing's own lore but well, you can see what mhy did with yanqing recently... but it was mentioned that jing yuan told him stories about the previous sword champion. and also the part that yanqing is raised on the luofu and by the general of the cloud knights, no less, he would be geared toward a future in the knights.

and then, of course, since yanqing was under jing yuan's guardianship, when he joined the knights... i have to wonder, what would happen if he refused to join the knights. like i don't think jing yuan would cast him out if he hadn't but like, was that one of the reasons that he chose to join the knights?

and yes!! i can see the paralell between childe and yanqing. such a shame that childe isn't the special meow meow that my brain rots over in genshin or i could work more with this ToT

to be fair, i wouldn't say jing yuan and the luofu are the good guys seeing as... well, we have only ever seen their side of the story and not the other side from those from the abundance faction. something something about lan and yaoshi are two sides of the same coin.
