After rewatching Over the Garden Wall, I finally have some more ideas for the characters in Over the Ghost Wall/Over the Busted Wall

Dana would be Miss Langtree, the schoolteacher. Peter would be Jimmy Brown

Janine would be The Tavern Keeper maybe?

Samhain (from the show and Spirits unleashes if I remember right) would be Enoch because pumpkin heads

Ray could be Ms Daniel (the woman Greg steals the rock facts rock from)

Adelaide might be Eleanor Twitty (The Librarian)

I don’t know about who Winston, Peck and Louis would be yet… if you guys have any ideas let me know :)

Update! Thanks to @sweetieboo I found roles for Louis and Peck!

Louis is Quincy Endicott, and that one apartment neighbor from the first movie (She’s blonde, dunno if she has a name) will be Marguerite Grey

Peck’s the Highway man. He stares at you until you do something about the environment.

So the funny thing is, I on my own had a totally separate but very similar take on this idea for a catchphrase: unfortunately I didn't actually come up with it on my own but it's a good one, see?

So in one of the episodes of the Cartoon Network animated miniseries "Over the Garden Wall" (it's the best piece of media ever created go watch it)- there's one episode that's a little more laid back and slice of Life than the rest about going to a school and it's very goofy and lighthearted and obviously paying homage to old cute kid films with Shirley Temple, and little children's books by Beatrix Potter and Richard Scarry.

One of the plot points of this episode is that there is a school teacher who feels angry that she was "stood up" at her wedding by her fiance. There also happens to be a wild gorilla on the loose! As you can imagine these are not separate events, but two threads that come together, for her fiance is just accidentally stuck in a gorilla costume.

So throughout the episode, cast members (who all keep using the same exact intonation when they say this-) casually keep dropping this same line, after bemoaning their personal backstory woes, or whatever complaints they have going on: They top it all off with "-Not to mention THAT WILD GORILLA ON THE LOOSE! 😕"

So anytime irl people have reason to vent, or I want to prattle on and on about some topic that's bothering me, or someone's just talking a little bit too aimlessly for a long time... You could say, for a bit of friendly polite brevity/dismissive self deprecation/to give a tiniest subtle bit of a friendly passive aggressive signal to not make such a fuss:...after you or your friend rambles about a crappy day at the office, Susan always gets on their nerves, and now Uncle Bob is expected to come over and you have to clean the whole house and mow the lawn and you also have to go shopping now and you just don't have the patience for it, blah blah blah...you top it all off by saying "-Not to mention that WILD GORILLA ON THE LOOSE 😱!"

......Well I think it's good. 👍🙄😗🐒
