Well well well, not a mirage. Indeed JM has given us a sign of life.

And quite a sign of life it was.

Before I share some of my thoughts on this, let's look at the numbers for a sec.

JM posted 29.1.2025 at 20:30 or 8:30 pm KST.

On Weverse it shows up as 29 Jan 20:30.

Which happens to be the day they are discharged from the military.

I think not. Not when it's JM posting. Not when he's talking to us about the "what comes next after military"...

But there is more...

One more of those times where JM's choice of date and time leave you wondering...

Yes, this was JM sending us a Happy New Year (Seollal) message. And Seollal was on 29 January this year. But it was celebrated between the 28 Jan and 30 Jan, so he could have sent the message either on the 28th (that's also when we got the message from Jin and Hobi) or the 30th. He chose to post on the 29th. At the time he did. And he also decided to let us in a little, more than just a cute HNY greeting.

Now that I got that out of the way, let's talk about what JM actually had to tell us.

Before I get to what JM says here, I do feel the need to remind everyone of just how intelligent JM is, how thought out and well spoken.

JM is super articulate and ever so careful when he words his messages. They ever so often are layered and nuanced (just like his songs).

And this message from him is no different.

The structure of the message. I - WE - I. Talking about himself - sneaking in the talk about JK and himself (WE) and finishing up with going back to talking about himself (ending it with his love for us). You might even look at it like a prologue - story - epilogue... framing the "WE"...

As part of the "prologue" JM talks about his daily routine in the military.

He really doesn't need to mention JK at this point, tell us they spend their spare time together, because JK already did.

So, JM just mentions the daily routine, tells us how his days are more or less the same since he's enlisted, but that there has been a change since the start of the year. And this change is in the content of the conversations he and JK have before sleeping (and I do think he's talking about 1 Jan 2025, not Seollal, since he's talking about conversations that the two are already having).

Listen to what he's saying.

The content of the conversation has changed since the start of the year, but them having these conversations, that is very much part of his daily routine.

This is intentional.

They are telling us something.

They are intertwining their messages.

A message from JK is still a message from him, but he is telling us how JM is part of his life, his day to day life, including the miniscule things like exercising and washing up.

They want us to know (not only speculate or guess either way) that their daily routines are intertwined with each other. Not out of necessity (to those that claim they didn't choose to enlist together or that enlisting together didn't mean spending free time together), but out of choice (spending free time together away from the others, showering daily together, having heart to heart talks before going to sleep).

Let's talk about JM's use of "we" shall we?

Again, this is JM presenting himself and JK to us as a unit.

He is telling us that he and JK have these meaningful heart to heart conversations just before going to sleep.

This is said obviously, clearly. But it's, once again, layered.

JM's words can be seen as talking, planning their professional lives moving forward.

JM's words can also be more.

And make no mistake. JM is in touch with the other members. Members he is super close to and with whom he has conversations about the what and how of after military service. And yet, the ones he is having with JK are the ones he is mentioning. These are not only about the what and how. These are about MORE. And here is where the layering and nuancing comes into place again, JM being JM.

The way he just adds it in: "and what kind of lives we will lead from now on..."

The translations are a little different in their wording, one talking about what kind of life they will lead moving forward or what kind of life they will lead in the future. But to me the message is one and the same.

The two thinking, contemplating, discussing how their lives will look like moving forward together. The two of them.

They are having conversations about how their future will be. And this is once again JM showing us how important they are to one another. What they are to each other.

Someone they plan their future together with.

And I can't help but wonder if this message is one more of little (or not so little) hints and crumbs we've been getting from them since their joint enlistment that something is going to change once they get out. Not with them. They have always have been good and will be good. But about how they will be presenting themselves to us. Not just as individuals (that too), but as the two of them together.

With the impending return of BTS I have been thinking how are they going to tackle their comeback. There was quite a few posts on here how it could look like. And I cant help thinking that I truly wish for them, all the boys I mean, to be who they really are - just like Jikook were wondering together how should their future look like after MS.

Because lets be honest, by the time they're back (and I dont think we will get any major album/concerts/tour this year) almost all the boys will be 30 or over. Only JK - one out of 7 members will be still in his 20s. And I truly hope (and someone else wrote about this already) they will cater to a more mature audience. Bc they got older but so did the fans, right? There are so many kpop groups that are younger and they should fulfil that need for having idols playing into their trope of boyfriend etc.

But not BTS anymore. They have shown during their solo chapter how mature they are, how much depth there is to them - they are not boys anymore. There is no need for being blushing mess when singing about sex etc. Let them be the grownups they have become!

One other thing I wish for them is to let go of the constructs of kpop, of fanservice etc. They are succesful beyond measure now, they dont need to play into that shit, into theories of crazy tkkokers, of looking for crumbs of connecetion. And Im sorry (not really though) for saying this, but there is one particular member who LOVES fs and loves to play into it - you know who I mean. He will take any chance to do that - look how he behaved at the movie premiere with JK, or the time they spend time on Hawaii - he milked the fact they were together...

I hope they know the power they truly hold, there is no other BTS and there wont ever be.

And if some fans leave due to things changing - let them go on their merry way - they dont deserve those boys anyway....

The fact they will have time to prepare and regroup before putting new content out gives me hope that they will actually time to THINK and they should think hard about this new direction, it will either make it or break it.

I don't believe they can remain the same as they have been - it's pretty unrealistic and change is normal especially with age.

I also wish they would not play into the kpop game of fanservice in the future, honestly they really don't need to, but look what happened with the anime, and look what this member is doing (and kept doing even during military, this guy is on a MISSION, which obviously isn't good for anyone - whatever his reasons are.)

Unfortunately I don't see any of it stopping unless they all have a serious talk.

My opinion for a while is that Hybe keeps playing it small despite the member's success, it's like they kept a small company mindset and can't seem to ditch the underdog attitude, can't open to new ways of doing things, can't open to how international the band is (this alone needs to be studied because their inability to go international is almost comical - just look at their international job offers written in korean 😂), can't ditch the kpop game because they never believed they would break it the first place and now that they did they simply don't know how to handle it properly.

Some koreans are very conservative, and it seems many at hybe are older people, so my bet is that if you put something like CHANGE into their hands...will they actually be able to do it? Can they handle it?

I am not entirely sure.

Kpop is ingrained into the band since its debut. The members surely don't define themselves with the label anymore, but how does the company see it now? Are they truly capable of handling global superstars, and not just idols?

Can they go beyond the mold of kpop and push a different agenda?

I have a lot of doubts about this.

Yes the members have influence obviously but they need the company to back them up.

The anime was made I guess without the member's consent.

Yet a tk agenda was pushed. In our year of 2025 💀 doesn't it tell us that hybe is indeed playing the game here?

So indeed I share your wishes but I'm not sure realistically we will get them, at least not to the extent we want.

The interactions and pushing of certain subunits will be there.

Because everyone knows "it's the game you must play" YES in kpop but BTS are beyond this.

How much the members and hybe are willing to entirely let go of that label is completely unknown.

As for entertaining younger audiences, imo they can't even do it anymore because now it would simply be too weird. Imagine 30yo singing to 16yo? Trying to sell them the boyfriend fantasy. It's just weird. Creepy, even.

So yes change is absolutely needed.

I guess it also circles back to jikook's questioning "how do we want to live our life moving forward".

What is good about this, is that jikook will be able to think about those questions together and come to conclusions together AND THEN share everything with the group to find a middle ground with everyone. Somehow it eases my heart a little bit that their shared decisions might come first and that they are allowed also to decide how they want to present themselves with the world (more maturely too?).

Maybe everyone will finally cut the crap (ohhh I wish)

That would be good if some fans left indeed and that they kept more mature ones (if all tkkers could go actually...they don't even care about the music 💀)

Whatever the direction (it could go in so many ways) I just hope the members themselves will be happy about it, and that they will be able to express whatever they want just how they want it. That's my only wish.

Sorry if I'm not super optimistic - I just keep my expectations low so when I am surprised I will be even happier 😂

Cannot wait...

Still a month away from watching these two be their adorable goober selves together:

I keep telling everyone around me I'm going to be insufferable for a while, with Jimin and Muse coming soon and then these two together, week after week ... makes me giddy. Sorry, not sorry.

We'll get teasers. I'm going to squee over all of those as well. Again, sorry, but not very sorry at all actually.

All of it takes me back to when I realized JK's 2022 Vlog was going to be centered around camping. Honestly? I was a little surprised. He has never come across as the outdoorsy type to me. But he'd never had the chance to express much of what interests him outside of BTS and outside of what we saw on various content through the years either!

This series of vlogs helped us see each member doing things they chose to do on their own and helped kick off the "solo" era in 2022.

Jungkook's delight in stopping at Korea's version of Buc-ee's and buying gas station food and eating to his heart's content was oddly satisfying. Maybe because I take great pleasure in doing such simple things too, after all, the best part of a road trip is stopping to buy snacks along the way, am I right? The service area where they stopped is called the Gapyeong Service area on the Seoul-Yangyang Expressway (60). These places are like a food court/mini mall. Just like Buc-ee's.

I am already laughing at the thought of he and Jimin stopping at a grocery store to buy deli pizza in Connecticut... IT'S GOING TO BE WOEFULLY SUBSTANDARD I FEAR!

In his 2022 vlog, Jungkook helped set up the camper he slept in and cooked and sat around the campfire drinking. And we know in past Bon Voyage seasons and other content, they've pitched tents and slept outdoors. All of these things he must have immensely enjoyed if we might be seeing them again soon with Jimin.

Then there's the recent story going around about someone spotting he and Jimin returning their rental car in Japan and learning Jungkook was driving... Jungkook got to drive on the "wrong" side of the road in Japan! He put that international driver's license to use finally!

From the preview clip the other day, it appears Jungkook also got to practice his motorcycle handling skills. Handling a Harley Davidson is a bit trickier than handling a smaller motorcycle. Those things are heavy. And it's a little different when you have a passenger sitting behind you. The two Harley helmets we saw sitting on the edge of his sofa last year... yep, he's had practice.

TMI: I was today year's old when I learned that motorcycles are banned on major roadways in Korea.

Are we going to see how Jimin scraped his knuckles while snorkeling on Jeju?

And that nekkid-in-bed live when Jungkook was begging him to come over and Jimin told him to look at the photo he sent... did Jimin get a black eye from being elbowed when they were sleeping?

I'm thankful to Tae for bringing JK along with his Wooga friends to that ski resort back in 2022. We can't know if JK had ever snowboarded before that but it appears he loved it enough to want to stick around long after they left him there. And now he had the chance to do it again with Jimin! I know they had so much fun together. At the beginning of this year, I pointed out some fun facts about Sapporo...

Skiing? Snowboarding? All of the above?

And save this for future reference, it's the onsen resort image we heard about and I mentioned in a weekly Bangtan report this past February....

Maybe none of the above will be accurate, but thinking about how much fun they had anyway has me very excited for August 8.

It’s really funny when people are like - but JK hung out with x person 10 times this year! - and it’s like, okay, and then he chose to spend the next 18 months, 547~ days with Jimin? 😭 You might really want to rethink that argument friend. JK had other options, other people he could have gone with, other programs he could have tried for, a later date he could have enlisted on, and yet he chose JM, and vice versa. They didn’t even have to enlist with anyone, they could have gone individually like everyone else in the group. No one was expecting them to enlist together. I HAVE TO BREAK MY SILENCE...

Let be real here this ain't a movie this is real life. Jimin is enlisting to a full on government organization that has been happening for a very long time so Jimin is safe and in good hands. His enlisting as a proud Korean man in the military and not only that his a MEMBER OF BTS so all this worry about "jimin is a victim", "jimin will be harassed" is getting blown out of proportion.

Threats happening on Twitter/online will most likely stay there when it comes to a high profile organization such as the national defence force guys. But Yes people should stop with this hate on jikook and jimin *like seriously it going to 2024*.

The shit that happened with Jin embarrassed the defence force enough so why the hell would they want another case. Jimin will go and return, yes he will be exposed to the realities of war, war propaganda on North Koreans and Americans, getting stuck in a gas tank for 10 minute and a sergeant yelling insults and orders at his face (this is horrible get my babies out of there). But that what every recruit gets to exprience in those first 5 weeks whereby their mentally, emotionally and physically destroyed and that for me is the main reason why JIKOOK APPLIED FOR THE COMPANIONSHIP option.

It a known fact that those first weeks of basic training are the worst and they decided to be there for each other during that hardship. It not even confirmed if they will serve the same division but what set and stoned is that they will spend the hardest part of their military service together.

So all that BS of harm befalling Jimin will remain wishes bcuz it won't happen. The BS of JK coming in as protector is stupid to. As it says... they will be EACH OTHERS COMPANIONS to ensure that they are healthy emotionally, mentally and physically for them to perform to the best of their abilities. They will have each other in there for those horrible 5 weeks and that what counts.

Please continue to report those horrid accounts but rest assure that all those horrible threats hold no weight. Don't mind the idiots who are making idiotic theories on why jikook is going together (they have went so low to even say the government is part of the jikook fanservice conspiracy *sighs*)

Jimin and Jungkook will go and return safely and I can proudly say that becuase they will have each other for those 5 weeks. (Hopefully for the whole duration of their enlistment too.) So let us celebrate that instead. JIKOOK WILL HAVE EACH OTHER.

I’ll be real, with BTS I just about read every pairing, it’s not like with 1D where I read HL for the majority of the time. there’s sooooo much good fic and it’s in my opinion a waste to stick to one pairing specifically because all of them have something different to offer (even though hopekook is, as you probably know by now, my specific niche and like crack to me NSMSM) so I’ll just rec you some of the ones I read when I got into them that really stuck with me and are good to get to know them!

Someone clearly has JM etched on their hand and on the brain.

Miss those two so damn much.

Funny how as time is closing and discharge from military etching closer I feel like it's moving so much slower than the first 14 months did. Is it only me that feels that?

But time is nearing, nevertheless, and as it is, I can't help but think what comes next. What is the day after going to look like?

Obviously, I'm not the only one thinking of that.

The two of them are clearly contemplating the day after as well.

We don't know what their hopes and wishes are for that post military future is, but I can tell you what mine are.

My hope for post military is that they will continue to be as openly inseparable as they have been going into the army and spending those 18 months of their service together.

I know they are together and their relationship is as strong as ever. With as little as we've been getting from them in the past 14 months of their service, they have shown us that ever so loud and clear.

I want them to be able to continue and be open about it.

I want us not to go back to the reality of 2023. A reality in which we KNOW they were spending their time together, but we weren't supposed to know it. A reality in which they gave us crumbs and clues and puzzles to solve but couldn't be loud and clear like this:

I do feel like there has definitley been a shift since their joint enlistment.

Obviously, them enlisting together was a HUGE part of it.

AYS and everything we were allowed to see in that show (and everything we know we weren't allowed to see as well) was just as HUGE.

But it doesn't end with that.

14 months of service and we barely got anything from them. But when we did, even more so in the last few months, it always contains a clear message of their "togetherness", take it in anyway that you will (they spend free time together, sing together, exercise together, shower together, have heart to heart conversations with each other before going to sleep - together - might not have been said but clearly implied).

To little ole' me this is not a coincidence. This is a clear pattern. A plan in place, one may think or conclude.

So yes, my hope is that when we reach the end of these 18 months we will be walking into a new reality. One in which they don't necessarily 'come out' officially (I think that is asking too much of them, and it would be a huge decision for them to make - together - one that will obviously impact not only them, but the whole of BTS), but do not shy away publicly from just how close and co-dependent they are of each other. A reality in which, dare I say, it's an obvious natural progression for them to continue to live together as "roommates" (in JK's huge mansion, of course) because "they got used to living together while in service". One in which being seen together in public isn't a big deal, it's a norm. One in which neither of them has to cower away or freeze or double take when they are caught on camera together (JK's deer caught in the headlights looks at the camera in mind). One in which when they aren't together them mentioning of the other isn't an "oh" or "ah" moment, but a natural "not a biggie" thing, because that's just something they obviously do. One in which ot7 army who love to ignore just how close those two are (because they are too close and too suspicious and acknowledging that means acknowledging there is more there and that Jikookers aren't delusional shippers that are fantasizing or fetishizing those two, but clearly seeing what they have been purposefully ignoring) cannot continue to ignore any longer.

And I wouldn't have wished for all of the above if I didn't think that was something they wanted.

Because most of all I want one thing.

Most of all I want them to be happy!!

Guys I had the biggest revelation today.

I never was interested in carreer choices. Not the usual ones. But I've always been creative. The thing is, I held back on many of my passions (editing, writing, painting, sharing spiritual insights) because I always thought it was useless because it didn't make any money. So I didn't do them as often as my heart wanted because "I needed to do more important things, like finding ways to make money". The thing is, no other ways to make money made me happy. I searched and searched and tried but it made me feel miserable.

I realized that so many people do things in life that they hate and don't want to do because we are all slaves to money, everyone was taught we need to make money in a certain way. And I now get that I also had those programs.

And that I was led by fear of lack instead of going after what makes me really happy. I understand that if myself can produce the feeling of absolute safety no matter the outside circumstances then money or no money I would be fine.

So I will to stop looking and trying things I despise and focus entirely on what makes me happy.

If the money comes eventually great but if it doesn't then I'd rather live with no money than be miserable.

So this is like a big fuck it moment.

I decided to follow my light and stop doing what other people or society tells me I should be doing. I want to stop putting monetary value on my happiness.

I was going in circles for nothing because the answer was there all along.

I decide to trust that the universe has my back and will guide me.

Now I can make jikook edits without feeling guilty whatsoever, I don't care anymore and it fills me with joy 😂 I feel truly liberated.

The other day, I came across a discussion about shippers…specifically Taekookers and how, despite years of a serious Taekook drought and an overwhelming amount of Jikook content and interaction, their community has continued to grow. The video being discussed perfectly illustrates how they’ve managed to do that.

If there’s one thing to know about Taekookers, it’s that their ship doesn’t hold up unless they drag Jimin, the company, or literally any third party into the equation. Their narrative simply doesn’t make sense even to themselves, without editing, cropping, and completely stripping videos of their actual context to push a particular story. And this video is a prime example of that tactic.

Let’s take a moment to look at the context of Are You Sure?! and what we’ve heard directly from Jimin, Jungkook, and Taehyung.

We know that AYS came about because Jimin and Jungkook had discussed the idea of traveling together, something they both agreed would be fun. Jimin eventually took the lead in pushing to make it happen. Contrary to what the cult wants to believe, there’s no way he would’ve done that without Jungkook’s full agreement. We know this because staff had been scouting locations in New York months in advance, clearly aligning with Jungkook’s schedule. That alone suggests Jungkook was not only informed but completely on board. On top of that, we saw Jungkook riding his bike in the show…something that would’ve required advance planning and preparation. How would the crew have known he wanted to do that if he didn’t tell them and tell them well in advance so they could get it ready? Even Vogue reported that both Jimin and Jungkook contributed ideas for what they wanted to do during the trip. So yes, Jungkook was aware, involved, and actively participating in the planning and one simple fact which the cult doesn’t want to accept is that Jungkook simply wouldn’t do all this if he Jimin bored him or made him sad.

We also know from Taehyung…who joined the trip midway…that he hadn’t been told about the trip at all. Neither Jimin nor Jungkook informed him about their plans. From the phone conversation between Taekook during the camping scene, it was clear that Taehyung didn’t even know they were filming a show, let alone where they were. According to his own words, he only found out about Jeju through a schedule posted in the group chat.

Now, in the video posted by that Taekooker…which, mind you, has over 2k likes…they’re trying to push the idea that Jungkook was bored or unhappy being with Jimin, and that his mood only improved once Taehyung arrived. But you can clearly see how they’ve cut out major portions of the full footage, cherry-picking moments and stripping them of any context. They’re presenting normal, neutral behavior from Jungkook as evidence of sadness or boredom…all because Taehyung wasn’t there even though we could in seconds look and find tons of moments where Jungkook looked sad or unhappy with Taehyung in the picture.

But let’s humor them for a second. Let’s say Jungkook was unhappy with Jimin and wanted Taehyung there instead. Wouldn’t that mean he would’ve at least tried to inform Taehyung about future trips, or invited him to join in, just to avoid being “stuck” with Jimin again? Wouldn’t he have stopped after the first trip if it was really so unbearable? What doesn’t make sense is Jungkook going on to film in two additional locations, talking about wanting to do this kind of trip until he’s 50, and still not bothering to let the person who supposedly brings him the most happiness know anything about it. Make that make sense.

And let’s not even get into the fact that, while he was still in the U.S. on other schedules, Jungkook was already planning on what he would cook in Jeju with Jimin, talking about “Jimin would Love this” Or the fact that, after returning from his U.S. trip, the person he rushed home to see and cook for wasn’t Taehyung…the person Taekookers claim brings him ultimate joy…but Jimin, the very same person they insist he was “bored out of his mind” with. So, to sum it up: Jungkook used his precious free time amid a packed schedule to travel with Jimin, spend time with him before their enlistment and document the experience for fans. He went on to shoot more episodes even though it was initially planned as a one-off and according to him and Jimin, they decided to shoot more because it was fun and they weren’t sure if NY was good enough. He also said, in his own words, that these were the best trips of his life. He never once told Taehyung in advance about any of the trips as far as we know seeing as Taehyung either kept finding out from a group chat or was literally informed about it while filming was already going on. After traveling, Jungkook went back home to Jimin…not Taehyung. And yet, according to this delusional cult, Taehyung is Jungkook’s ultimate source of happiness while Jimin is just an annoying boring ass coworker he can’t stand and can only tolerate when Taehyung is around. Taehyung, the same person whom Jungkook didn’t even think it necessary to inform about the same trips they are referencing in that video?

This is exactly how Taekookers have coped for years..and at this point, it’s like clockwork. The moment they start starving for content or interactions between their ship, they immediately resort to editing videos, stripping away relevant context, and making absurd comparisons. And because Jimin has always been and will likely always be their biggest insecurity, they flock to like those videos as a way to soothe themselves. What they fail to realize is that even if Jungkook were actually dating Taehyung, he wouldn’t need to look miserable around Jimin to prove it.

I know the internet is often a cess pit, but I can’t honestly believe there are supposed jikookers out there who actually think that Jimin and Jungkook would use a show to patch things up as if they are from some k drama going through a breakup/ fall out / miscommunication or rough patch.

I know we don’t know them, but have we all ‘met’ Park Jimin? The perfectionist idol of idols. You think he’d use a filmed reality show to mend things with someone? Friend or foe? 

Honestly it’s so delusional to think that, let alone incredibly disrespectful of Jimin and Jungkooks relationship and bond.

If they are together like we think, there is no way they would have gone on camera to fix things. 

They aren’t the Kardashian’s. Jimin has extremely deep emotional intellect and empathy, you think he’d air his and JK’s dirty laundry for entertainment.

What we saw if you want to describe it as awkward, in episode 1, was them getting used to being on camera together again. Imagine going on camera together, just them, for the first time in a very long time (and even then not to this extent) and knowing how exposed they were going to be. Just watch the show and watch Jimins face when he gets into the Jeep for the first time. Do you see it?

We all have those moments right? Where you decide on something and when it gets closer to the time, you start to doubt yourself and your decision. 

This is what Jimin surely meant when he said he was starting to doubt himself on the plane over to the US.

They made themselves vulnerable by doing this show, they were putting their bond on full and pure display for the first time ever, all by themselves, no other member to protect them or shield them, or play off of. In front of Army who for the most part do not know how to label them, (seeing as Jikook never labelled themselves outside of all nighter friends ) and whom most would not even consider the closest, let alone this and the enlistment.

Can you imagine what that was like? For vultures, the cult, etc to pick apart your bond, even doubt the very core or truth of your friendship. Then on top of that you’ve got so called supporters questioning you and inventing drama for funsies. Them, a probable closeted queer couple from the biggest band in the world. They were brave in my eyes.

They knew what they were intending to do with the show but that does not make it any easier.

As it was, by the second day, despite Jimin being poorly and JKs cold, they got into the groove of the slow and simple travel show. They set sail on the high seas and looked so at peace just being together. 

They deserve that, they deserve their moment of peace and happiness. Them just being together, and enjoying time off their hectic schedules. I sincerely hope they afford themselves more of it in the future, and as much as I love the show, without cameras too. They also deserve to be respected.

So to those who are creating drama filled narratives in their heads, or posting them for all to see, please consider all of this before spouting such nonsense and drivel, because our beautiful men and their beautiful love deserve better.

Same. So much same.

Since Bang PD has already partially relocated to LA, and since so many of their overseas trips are to that city, I think it makes sense that they would live at least part time there as well. I think they definitely have more freedom to be themselves when they're here. Nobody blinks at smoking here. Nobody cares all that much about homosexuality (except certain politicians and fundies). I hope they do find more freedom once they've finished MS and are finally out from under the South Korean government's thumb.

I think they have a lot to say as a group that they've been stifling until they've "earned" the right to say it by conforming to everything their country expects of them. MS is seen as a big stepping stone, the thing that makes boys into men. It's a rite of passage that culturally I think they all want to take. Once they pass through that crucible, they'll be "full citizens", if you will, and then they can openly address things they maybe felt they couldn't while they were still considered boys instead of men.

It'll be interesting. I'll say that much. I can't wait to see what happens.

What’s your thoughts about Jikook post-enlistment? I see all kind of theories and it’s hard to totally dismiss them but at the same time I know it’s easy to fall into the wishful thinking trap. I want them so much to be happy and free… I have a feeling they might want to push the boundaries even more after they’ve accomplished their MS thought I’m not expecting any clear coming out story. Have you ever speculate about what could happen? Sorry if you already discussed about it previously!

I'm on the same boat as you.

I feel they will push boundaries and continue doing questionable things but I don't believe they will ever have an actual coming out where they announce their relationship.

There are too many things at stake. Their families, careers, friends but they have the support of their family for sure which makes me think that pushing the boundaries to very edge is something they would totally do. To test the waters, to make statements, to start opening the path for more freedom.

We've all heard Jimin and Jk say they are practicing their English so I want to assume they will live in the US part time, at least. And hopefully this brings them more freedom.

Maybe it's wishful thinking but I want them to be happy and free too.

What a way to end the first season of AYS!!

I don't even know if I can even put into words what I'm feeling after watching the last episode of Are You Sure. Grateful? Devastated? Sad? Overjoyed? None of those words do justice to my emotions and overall feelings.

What a beautiful way to end this first season. We really got to witness just how much Jimin and Jungkook mean to each other, and it really made it clear to me why they chose to enlist together and not be separated. I can't believe we as fans got to spend such a precious amount of time with jikook right before the start of their military service.

There were so many moments during this last episode that made me emotional. Jimin tearing up on his way to wake Jungkook up on their last day, Jungkook (who we've seen repeatedly enjoying his love for beer) choosing not to drink so that he could drive them to the airport (and have that alone time), jikook reacting to the first episode of AYS and laughing so hard (to the point that Jungkook had to keep wiping the tears from his eyes🥹), Jungkook trying to cheer Jimin up on that last day, Jungkook saying that these trips with Jimin were the best of his entire life 😭, and even the subtle touches. 😩

The car rides. They got to spend so much of their time in the car driving just the two of them since they were constantly saying out loud just how long their drives were, but we only got to see a few minutes of it. I love so much that they had that time just the two of them.

Jimin's absolute love for Standing Next to You is so amazing to see (and also understandable lol). He sings it in almost every episode. It says something about Jimin as a person that he is so selflessly supportive.

Jimin at the end talking about how impactful their trips were to him and how they made him appreciate things like this again. Jungkook wanting to go back to the first day of their trip 🥺. Like Are You Sure meant so much to both of them they even included a clip of them saying their phrase "Are You Sure" on enlistment day 😭.

I am so thankful that Jimin and Jungkook got to show these sides of themselves in AYS, in a way that's different and unique from all the other BTS content. I feel like I got to know them on a deeper level watching their interactions and experiencing some of the joy they were so clearly feeling. I hope Jimin and Jungkook know just how much fans enjoyed watching every minute of their show and the amount of happiness they've given to fans, and I hope they decide to keep the same format going forward with future seasons!! 💜❤️

I honestly didn’t expect Jikook to talk about their military service much tbh. 2seok never really have, neither of them have been very active on social media, Jimin made it pretty clear he just wanted to go and get it over with and come back… so I’m just… really glad to hear that they managed to make some memories worth taking back with them, ones that they’re excited to (potentially) even share with us. I’m also not surprised but still endeared to learn that Jikook are still managing to find the humor in every situation.

The part of the convo where they’re laughing and talking about not being sure how much they can share because they’re scared of ARMYs running off just reminded me so much of AYS and how they talked about it. I could see Jikook on that couch in the last group live, laughing and playfully scolding Namjoon for spoiling the show, calling the elbow to Jimin’s face a gift for ARMYs, and telling us to look forward to it with all of that silly laughter and wide smiles. Last time they were talking about not being sure if they should share we learned it was because the whole first trip was centered around Jimin’s stomach issues 😭 I can only imagine what they’re talking about this time if it’s bad enough they think it could scare away ARMYs after we all watched that (but I also need to know).

But that little convo with Hobi, idk it was just nice to see that nothing has changed really (insert JM’s favorite LGO lyrics). It was so Jikook, silly and a little chaotic, warm and familiar, them laughing about the unfortunate or crazy things that happen to them, wanting to share their misadventures with us (and clearly with the other members, who knows how many times JM brought up that elbow story for example, he’s so funny).

I just really appreciate that part of their dynamic so much, the way they manage to find the humor in everything, turn a sucky situation into something to laugh about and look back on fondly. I’ve talked about that so much on my blog, but it’s seriously something I love so much about them and something I can’t highlight enough is just so valuable in life. No wonder they get along so well when they always manage to find a way to have fun wherever they’re at and to be able to lift each other up through laughter whenever something unfortunate happens. That kind of thing must be pretty invaluable in their current environment.

We already knew through their letters that things have not been easy at all for them in there. I’ve worried just a little. I know they’re alright, but it’s clearly just… emotionally so taxing, and their words, while having resolve and looking forward to the future, are also honest enough to share those vulnerabilities and uncertainties with us. So, it was just nice to hear their voices for one (first time we’re hearing JM since 2023 😭) and to hear that familiar silliness as short as it was, but also to know that amid all the struggles they’ve at least had a few spots of laughter, and that after all that has happened at least they’ve made some memories worth taking back with them. I’m glad that it seems they’ve both made friends too (or in Jimin’s case, adopted sons). I can’t wait to hear their stories if they decide to share any with us (and I’ll prepare myself because it sounds like I’ll need to) but I’m just happy that they’re hanging in there, that there’s not much longer left, and obviously that they have each other to lean on, confide in and make laugh every now and then too.
