Wedding ring
I'm very busy with my current job, so I finally have some time to read the third chapter of The Valley of Fear titled "The Tragedy of Birlstone".
“They've taken his wedding ring!” he gasped. “What!” “Yes, indeed. Master always wore his plain gold wedding ring on the little finger of his left hand. That ring with the rough nugget on it was above it, and the twisted snake ring on the third finger. There's the nugget and there's the snake, but the wedding ring is gone.”
A nugget ring is designed to mimic the look of a raw gold nugget – hence the name. They are traditionally a men’s piece, because of the large size and rough, rocky look of the ring.

Probably the wedding ring had a D-profile. That type of wedding band is known here in my country as "English style"

Sondra Sherman majored in painting and jewelry at the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia before moving to Germany in 1984. At the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich, Sherman's work reflected the school's emphasis on strong design. More recently, however, the artist's work has begun to express a sense of human character and emotion. Via Smithsonian

Sondra Sherman (born 1958) is an American painter and jewelry maker. Sherman's work has been praised for its "deeply personal" expression of human emotion and of the subjects inspired by them.[1] Sherman's skills and reputation as a jeweler have earned her many awards, including a Tiffany Foundation Emerging Artists Award, various fellowships, and a Fulbright Scholarship.

Louise Nevelson was arguably her own most special creation. A towering figure of 20th-century art, the American sculptor is remembered as much for her theatrical ensembles as for her trailblazing, room-size installations.

While Nevelson, who died in 1988, routinely adorned herself in piles of jewelry collected from far-flung travels, less known is the fact that many of the totemic pieces she wore like talismans were designed and made by her in the last 25 years of her life.
“These jewels were important mini sculptures,” says Arne Glimcher, the legendary New York art dealer and founder of Pace Gallery, which has represented Nevelson and her estate for 60 years. “I’m surprised it’s taken the fashion world so long to pay attention.”
