Yeah, I knew Bono. And if you told me to pick any three people that you want your company to represent in the whole management business everywhere, I’d say three of the top three for me would be Harry Styles, the Eagles and U2. So I’ve died and gone to heaven with this. I’m really proud of what Jeffrey and his team have accomplished with Harry. Watching that has been incredible. And Jeffrey and I are doing U2 together, so it’s really been fun.

Buzzcut, so basically bald head premiering at the sphere (basically a big bald head if you look at the shape), an Azoff venue that has already lost 100 million $ in its first month and all the bad press around it and with the stunt in tow… sounds about right. They’re (Azoffs, sphere managers and TR) are really desperate for press. Just funny how TR got overshadowed once again by a haircut. She should just give up at this point. Doesn’t matter how badly she wants to make fetch happen, it won’t.

See, when you put it like that, all the different pieces of information we know, it's so easy to see what's really happening and why it's happening. Harry is their golden boy so they are going to use him for all it's worth. And no, fetch isn't going to happen, not for TR and not for the Azoffs.

I wouldn’t read anything into Annie saying it she probably didn’t even think about it.

Anon 3: hey ralph, annie mac is irish i think yes? if that's the case then 'your man' is probably just her saying 'a man'/'the man that this story is about', rather than her saying 'nick's man' etc. if you google 'your man irish slang' or something similar, you could probably find a better explanation - i just recognise it as an irish-ism because i read a bunch of marian keyes books a few years ago and she used 'your man' in character dialogue. hope this helps! love your blog as always

Thanks for the responses anon - that was exactly the thing I was wondering. In most contexts I know saying 'your man' would suggest that the man was more the man of the person being spoken to than the man of the person speaking. But I wasn't sure if that was the case in an Irish context and it sounds like it's not. Louis Tomlinson is the world's man from 1D, not particularly Nick's man from 1D

In the interview room with Harry.

“There are some pretty heavy songs on Fine Line.”

Harry scratches his chin and looks away from the camera. “Yeah.”

“You’ve said in the past that you write from personal experience. Where did songs like ‘Cherry’ and ‘Falling’ come from?

“Uh...Not the uh…not the best time of my life.”

Cut to Y/n’s interview.

“Harry is…the most hard working person I’ve ever met. He wants to do everything he does with a hundred and ten percent. Almost to a fault, and there—there were moments where I felt like he was choosing his career over his family. You know, once One Direction went on hiatus, I thought things were gonna be different. I thought we would have more time together as a family, but we started falling into the same cycles. Write, promote, tour.”

Cut to Harry.

“Were you choosing your career over family?”

“I know how Y/n felt back then, and we’ve talked about it at length since then,” Harry says. “I think…I think at the time I only knew one way of having a music career and providing for my family, and it worked, so I almost felt like I had to keep that momentum. After the first tour ended, I came home and we spent time together, but…All I’ll say was it was tense.”

Cut to Y/n.

“I often think the pandemic was a blessing in disguise.”

“Really? Why?”

Y/n looks down at her lap before answering. “Because I was done.”

Cut to clips of Harry in Japan and in recording studios with his team.

Harry’s voiceover: “I’d never felt truly alone until we separated. To some it may seem odd because I was touring so much anyway, but I spoke to my family every day. I don’t think a day had ever gone by that I didn’t speak to Y/n. I wanted to give Y/n space, and I felt so lost, so I just kind of…stayed away. It was so hard. All I kept thinking was, ‘I did this. This is my fault.’ I eventually started writing down how I felt, but…yeah. Not something I look back on with pride.”

Back to Harry’s interview.

“Why talk about any of this at all?”

Harry’s eyes are red and watery, as if he had just been crying. “It was part of this whole journey. It wouldn’t be authentic of me to only share the good parts. Fine Line is introspective. It’s an album about high highs and low lows, so it only makes sense to kind of…express what I was going through to make me feel a certain way while writing.”

Cut to Y/n’s interview.

“What was it like to hear Fine Line for the first time?”

“Jeff told me H jetted off to Japan to write songs for the next album, and I didn’t see him until after it was nearly ready to be released. I wanted him to fight for us, but he just left. It solidified for me how much we needed to take a little time apart and figure out what we wanted. I was…resentful going into it. It felt like his music was tearing us apart, and he went to write more. But…”

Y/n wipes a tear from her eye.

“He…He was hurting as much as I was, and I was partially to blame.”

When asked to elaborate about the children during that time, both Harry and Y/n refused to comment.

Cut to an interview with Jeffrey Azoff, Harry’s long time friend and manager.

“I have a lot of respect for the both of them,” Jeff says. “What the two of them went through together, what Y/n endured all those years. Being a parent is hard enough, add everything else they put up with on top of that?”

Jeff shakes his head.

“But Harry went on a huge tour under your management.”

“An error on my part. And his,” he says. “I think we were so excited to start his career, and as a manager who has a client who loves live performances, it felt like a no brainer. I could tell that H was going to be someone explosive in the music industry, and I let that kind of cloud my vision.”

Jeff also reveals that he has since apologized to Y/n and that they are on good terms.

“So how did you go about promotion for Fine Line?”

“It was tricky, you know, because to the outside world, why wouldn’t H be doing all the talk shows and interviews and things like that? To everyone who didn’t know what was going on, he had all the time in the world and no obligations, but that obviously wasn’t the case.”

“Were there ever conversations to reveal his family to the public?”

Cut to Y/n and Harry in an interview room together.

“We talked about our options moving forward,” Harry says. “But we decided the best way to protect the kids’ privacy was if no one knew I had a wife and kids.”

“Definitely not easy,” Y/n says, but not impossible.”

Clips of Harry on various talk shows (Late Late Show, Ellen DeGeneres, Graham Norton) and at the Jingle Bell Ball, and One Night Only at the Forum appear. Some are of him performing, others are of him rehearsing, and one in a green room with Y/n, Simone, and Collette sitting on a couch.

Harry’s voiceover: “We decided on a couple talk show appearances in places where I could drive home afterwards, and longer breaks between tour destinations,” he says. “I was prepared to hold off on the album release so that I could spend more time at home, but Y/n wouldn’t let me.”

Back to Y/n.

“Keeping him from doing what he loves was never the goal,” Y/n says. “I just wanted there to be a balance. The kids were getting older and had more things going on, and I didn’t want their earliest memories of their dad to be that he was gone all the time. H wouldn’t be the same person if he didn’t have his music, but he also wouldn’t be the same without us. I never wanted him to give up his life for us, but things needed to be different.”

“Global lockdown was certainly different.”

She nods. “I think H saw it as an opportunity to…make up for lost time. It was difficult for obvious reasons. Online learning, keeping the kids entertained all day, staying inside, the toilet paper thing, but we’d never been the kind of family that spent so much time under the same roof before. It was strange, but also really nice.”

Back to Harry.

“You know, obviously I was bummed that I put out this album that I was really proud of and couldn’t perform it the way I wanted to, and there were already so many fans who bought tickets. I felt like I was letting them down too. But at the same time, it forced me and Y/n to share common space after so much time apart. I wasn’t about to take that for granted.”

This was all Harry and Y/n were willing to talk about concerning their separation. They did not say how long they were apart or when they officially mended things.

In another interview room are four children.

“Can you state your name for the interview, please?”

“Simone Styles.”

“Nicoletta Anne Styles.”

When the fourth child doesn’t answer, Maeve does it for him.

“And that’s JuJu.”

“No it’s not!”

“Then say your name!”

“My name is Julian.”

“Do you know what your dad does for a living?”

“He travels a lot,” Maeve says. “Sometimes we get to go with him!”

“Daddy sings onstage,” Julian says.

“And on the radio!”

“He’s a musician,” Simone says.

“Do you have a favorite song that your dad sings?”

They all begin to talk over each other.

“I like Adore You!”

“As It Was!”

“Only because you were in it.”

“Baby Shark!”

“I like his One Direction songs,” Collette says.

“So you know who One Direction is?”

“Yeah,” Simone says while the rest nod.

“Simone, do you remember anything about your dad being in One Direction?”

“Not really. But Mom likes to tell stories about all the cool places we got to go together.”

“What is the coolest thing about your dad?”

“Did he tell you to ask us that?” Maeve asks.

The whole crew laughs.

“No, he didn’t.”

“I like when he plays with my toy cars. Sometimes we make a really big racetrack with, like, loops and stuff,” Julian says.

“I like when he plays tea party with me!”

“I like it when Dad picks me up from school early so we can go shopping together,” Simone says.

Back to Harry and Y/n’s shared interview.

“You do what?”

“It was only a couple of times!” Harry says in his defense.

Y/n gives Harry a stern look before she says, “Okay.”

“Okay?”

“Mmhm.”

Harry looks at the camera. “She does this to scare me. Pretends like everything’s fine and then grills me later.”

Back to the interview with Simone, Collette, Maeve, and Julian.

“What was it like being in lockdown together?”

“It was really fun!” Maeve says.

“We played lots of games and did campouts in the backyard and stuff,” Simone added.

“I learned how to ride a bike!”

Collette tilts her head to the side. “Well, it was mostly fun. When Mom and Maeve got sick it was not so fun.”

“I think Daddy was in over his head,” Julian says.

Cut to Harry and Y/n’s interview.

“I was not ‘in over my head.’ We were fine. Better than fine, even.”

Y/n looks at the camera, clearly amused. “He called me crying several times.”

“How did you and Maeve quarantine while you were sick?”

“We took our bedroom,” Y/n says, gesturing between her and Harry. “And they would bring us meals and everything. I was a little worried because GiGi was only a couple months old, but we made it work.”

“Why were you crying so much, Harry?”

“It wasn’t so much. But…I think we’re all used to having Y/n around, and sometimes Simone and Collette would argue, and Julian missed having Maeve around, and you know, was looking after a newborn during all of it. Y/n is truly the glue that holds this family together.”

“He got really good at braiding my hair!”

Everyone laughs at the little voice off camera, which turns away from Harry and Y/n to where Collette is sitting in a director’s chair. Then the camera swivels back to Harry and Y/n.

“She’s right. I am a master at the French braid.

Cut to a home video of Simone and Collette with Harry filming.

“Welcome to our home!” Simone says. She spreads her arms wide as she presents the front room of the house to the camera.

Both Simone and Collette proceed to give a tour of the whole house. They show a kitchen, a home theater, what they call “Daddy’s office,” which appears to be a converted recording studio, and the twins’ bedroom.

“This is my room. I share it with Simone,” Collette says.

Simone shows off the bedroom, which has white walls with pastel accents. Lots of stuffed animals on two beds with princess canopies and a small sofa. There are two rugs on the floor, a white one with a textured pink and purple smiley face and another white one with an orange pattern. A teddy bear bean bag chair sits by one of the beds. There’s a bay window with a small mattress and curtains with hand-stitched cherries on them. “A project completed by yours truly,” Harry says about the bay window bed. “I’ve become quite the handyman during lockdown. And an interior decorator.”

“Dad!” they both cry.

“Sorry, sorry. I’ll keep quiet from now on.”

The “tour” ends in Harry and Y/n’s room, where Y/n lays on the bed. Her belly is big, clearly several months pregnant. She smiles as Simone and Collette approach.

“What’s going on here?” she asks.

“We’re giving a house tour!” Collette says as she jumps on the bed. “This is our last stop.”

“We’re gonna send it to Nana and Auntie Gemma and…”

Simone rattles off all the names they plan to send their video to.

“Wow! And I see you have your own cameraman,” Y/n says.

“He’s good, but we have some notes,” Collette says, and Simone agrees.

“That’s it. No more cameraman. I’m the tickle monster,” Harry says.

Simone and Collette scream and run away, and the video ends shortly after that.

as someone who's been here since 2012 (god help me) i think a lot of people don't realize that right when the fame and closeting started getting intense, harry was seen everywhere with cal, then it was nick, then it was jeff, then it was xander, then it was brad. like in 2014 people were legitimately in full blown belief that jeff and harry were dating. look how ridiculous that sounds now! and each time without fail, people who would never give larry the time of day, fall for it lol.

“Why is H ignoring you Y/N?”

I hesitate to answer, not even really understanding the answer to Mr. Azoff’s question.

It’s been a month and a half since Harry and I have spoken. We had a break from tour and I went home to visit family. As usual, I went on a date. This one hadn’t been too bad. She was kind, but she had a boyfriend I found out, so obviously that sent me nowhere. And honestly… I can’t stop thinking about what Harry had said that night…

“I.. Don’t know. I’m sure he’s not ignoring me, his mind is probably just preoccupied..”

Mr. Azoff let’s out a sigh and shakes his head.

“Well, one thing is for sure. Neither of you have been the same since that last show. And for both of your sakes, I hope your able to figure it out.”

Mr. Azoff hands me his laptop and walks away from me to where Harry was, chatting with Sarah and Mitch. I look at him, and my heart can’t help but ache.

Am I bothering you?Do you want to talk?

About 30 minutes before show time, I hesitantly approach him, biting my lip as I speak to him.

“Hey um.. Mr. Azoff said it’s time to get ready…”

He gives me a small glance before nodding and looking away. He gets up from the seat he was occupying, pushing past me as he walks out of the room.

We share the last line

“You? Drinking? That’s a first.”

I raise a brow and his teasing expression.

“You said it was fine to drink on the job as long as I don’t overdo it and I can still do my job. That’s what I’m doing.”

I take another gulp of my whiskey, wincing at the taste as the cold liquid travels down my throat. Mr. Azoff only gives me a small smile and shakes his head.

“I know what I said. But in your time with us, you’ve never done it. I was just a bit surprised. This doesn’t have anything to do with that fight you had with him, does it?”

Then we drink the wall. Till we wanna talk.

I shake my head and down the rest of my glass before returning the empty glass to the bar.

“He doesn’t want to talk to me so it doesn’t matter.”

Mr. Azoff shakes his head once more and lays a hand on my shoulder.

“Talk to Sarah. She knows. She’ll help.”

I give him a small sigh and nod as I turn my eyes back to the stage.

I go round and round, Satellite

After the show, I manage to catch Sarah and Mitch before they head back to the bus.

“Talk? About what’s wrong with you and H?”

I bite my lip and nod. Sarah’s expression softens and she pulls me into a hug.

Spinning out waiting for you to pull me in

“He’s loved you since he met you, Y/N. It’s been pretty obvious to everyone but you apparently.”

I can only stay quiet, Mitch’s words hitting me hard. Sarah squeezes me tight and I have to fight back my tears.

“I know you love him, Y/N. You’ve loved him just as long. But you dismissed the idea of it. You didn’t think he’d ever love you like that, did you?”

She lets my go and my mouth drops in shock.

“How did you-.”

Sarah only laughs and hugs me again.

“You weren’t that obvious, but I could tell from the way you looked at him. Always love with a hint of pain.”

I can see you’re lonely down there

“Hey won’t talk to me, Sarah.. How do I fix this? I feel like it’s too late! He brushed passed me the other day! He doesn’t do that to anyone!”

She shushes me, patting my head softly.

“You are one of the people that know him best. We can help get him there, but you have to do the rest. If he’s worth it, I’m sure you’ll think of something.”

I give her a nod and sad smile before she lets me go, taking Mitch’s hand and heading back to the bus.

Don’t you know that I am right here?

“Jeffrey, couldn’t this have-.”

The second he sees me, his face drops. He doesn’t even bother to meet my line of sight before he turns on his heel and I shout to him.

“H, please! Just wait!”

He stops for a minute before he slowly turns back around.

I’m in an LA mood

“What, Y/N? What could you possibly have to say to me? Whatever it is, I really don’t want to hear it. I don’t want to talk to you. Don’t you get that?!”

I huff and shake my head.

“Harry, that’s not fair! I’m sorry I didn’t know, but you left and stopped talking to me!”

He folds his arms over his chest and shakes his head.

“Everyone knew Y/N. I didn’t exactly try to hide my feelings!”

He turns around again and starts to stomp off in a huff.

She said, “Give me a day or two”

I sigh and before he can walk away any more, I grab his wrist, but he refuses to look at me as he stops.

“You pulled me in, H. You always have. But I never thought… I never thought we could be together..”

He shakes his head and lets out a scoff.

“How could you possibly think that? Do you think I’m that low, Y/N? You assumed and look where it got us..”

I’m here, right here

“You’re right… but I really thought it was for the best… You’re this international superstar and I’m just… Somebody’s assistant. So I tried. I thought I was doing the right thing. Obviously not…”

He lets out a sigh and finally turns around. He doesn’t say anything, but he holds his arms out to me. Before I can stop myself, I run into him and allow my tears to fall.

“I-I’m so, so sorry H! I-I never meant- I never wanted to hurt you! I just wanted to be there for you!”

He places a kiss on the top of my head as he holds me close.

“ ‘M sorry I got so mad Y/N/N… I just.. Felt like I was spinning out waiting for you…”

I take in his familiar, comforting scent and sigh.

“I’ll pull you in. I’m right here.”

He pulls away enough so I see the smile on his face. He takes a look around at the open area and looks down at me.

“So.. Whatcha got here?”

I smile and pull him towards my makeshift picnic.

“I got all your favorites! Obviously we’re sharing the California Rolls, but I found some really good shrimp tacos-.”

Before I can finish, I’m interrupted by his lips pressing against mine. I sigh and wrap my arms around him, pulling him into me. We only kiss for about a minute when he lets me go for air.

“Harry..?”

He hums as he holds me close, looking into my eyes.

“I love you,H.”

He smiles and pecks my lips before looking back down at me.

“No more spinning?”

I smile and shake my head.

“I’m right here.”

marte you mentioned in the tags that you had a bad feeling about 2015 which lead you to not be a solo harry stan. Could you explain what your bad feeling was? Elaborate a little?🫂😘

Hi, anon!

I've already mentioned most of it. It was the obvious favouritism and preferential treatment shown Harry from the start giving the others an uneven playing field. It was everything shady with the Azoffs and the likes of JC ditching Louis and the others over Harry. It was Harry disrespectfully distancing himself from 1d and his boyband days. I was still not over 1d ending and that hurt. It was Harry flurishing while Louis was held down with bg. It was Harry starting to cooperate more with stunts. It was like everything they fought for together was out the window and he gave Syco/Columbia/Sony exactly what they wanted. I knew we were in for more stunts, less authenticity, more image curation and an 'americanisation' of him. His talent came second.

His whole career was built on the foundation from a band he wouldn't acknowledge, stunting himself to fame, a womaniser image that they sought to perpetuate and make worse, a greedy label and management who wanted to get money from the fans who projected onto him and misunderstood him. I knew everything bad was going to get worse. I knew he was going to get big for all the wrong reasons. All his victories would be stained and not always deserved. I was never going to support any of that, no matter how much i love Harry.

From the Azoff 2023 interview: he phrases it as if he really thinks of Harry as another son and not just an act in the family business

"You must be pretty excited about your kids’ careers so far.

My kids’ careers are in great shape. Cameron is at Beats at Apple. When you go to work at Apple, you take a code of secrecy, so I couldn’t tell you what he’s working on, but it seems to be going really well. And Allison’s branding business is going great, and she shares a lot of clients with the Full Stop guys. Harry just finished touring, and Jeffrey and I are up to our elbows in U2 at the Sphere, which has been just so fucking exciting."

That was really sweet. He cares about Harry so much.

I suspect Jeff’s had his eye on Harry for a loooong time since the 1D days, which seems plausible because they’ve been friends for a while. I suspect Jeff whispered in his ear how great a solo career would be, hence a slight shift I picked up on during 1D. I blame Harry entirely for why 1D split up (I’m not angry about it - just my opinion). I think at the time he was young and impressionable and placed all his trust in other people beside himself, which is something I think he struggles with till this day. He reminds me as someone who knows what he wants and is confident up until a point before feeling the need to ask for permission (generally speaking). I think he deals with some attachment issues, plus a sprinkle of anxiety and depression. I worry it might worsen if he doesn’t slow down because he doesn’t seem to have many friends, or rather close friends, that he doesn’t work with and the people he DOES work with seem somewhat fame hungry. I think they care about Harry but not in the way he needs, but of course I could be wrong. Like for example Jeff strikes me at the type to run over right away if Harry falls down to make sure he’s okay, but then say “don’t you want to get back up?” which passive aggressively inserts his own opinion into Harry’s and kind of twists him into believing Jeff’s wants are his own. Does that make sense? It’s just a vibe I get based off of a couple interactions I’ve seen. I think Harry’s team is pushy and manipulative but they don’t realize it fully, and Harry is easily moldeable and also doesn’t entirely realize he might be taken advantage of (although I could also suspect he realizes something is wrong but doesn’t know exactly what). All he’s known is Simon Cowell and Jeffrey Azoff. Jeff prob seemed like God above coming to save him from 1D and now he can’t leave him - aka the attachment issues I mentioned earlier (again my opinion) and Jeff knows it. And I think the other members of Harry’s team are piggybacking and riding the fame train. Harry Styles has become a brand but personally, I’d rather know Harry the person.

In my dream world, and this is going to be controversial, I would love to see Harry open up a little more. Maybe make his Instagram more personal. Post for his mom’s birthday. Talk about how grateful he is for his fans. Share what he’s doing every once in a while. Share some of his feelings about love and places he likes, maybe his favorite recipe or book. I’d also want to see him openly support other artists/people just because and not when it’s convenient for him. I also think he should better communicate with his fans. I think the relationship between him and his fans has turned into a relationship between God and her followers, which it shouldn’t be. It seems unhealthy and I fully believe if he set boundaries and talked about it, we would see a major shift in a positive way. I would also like to see him promote his OWN things, such as Pleasing, Gucci HaHaHa, his own songs or movies. It all comes across as such an impersonal money thing sometimes and it’s such a turn off for me personally.

I think that ^^ it partially Harry’s decision from not wanting to be on social media that often which is fair, but I also think his team is egging it on. Keeps him “mysterious” and a blank canvas so his fans can idolize him and he can appeal to a larger percentage of people. Pick a category and you can almost always put him in that box if you look at it from that perspective.

Idk if this fully answers the question. Harry’s teams weaknesses, imo, are sprinkled into my response. I just think they want to be big and famous and everything else isn’t as important.
