Bollywood saw the blockbuster return of ‘King Khan’ SRK with monumental hits – Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki. We saw Ranbir Kapoor breaking records left & right with his highly popular yet controversial movie Animal. Then at the tail end of the year, we witnessed an epic by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, 12th Fail. Let's first talk about Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan movie. Pathan is one of the movies that took the movie neighborhood by storm. Pathaan is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film co-written and directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films. The fourth installment in the YRF Spy Universe, it stars Shah Rukh Khan in the title role, alongside Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, with Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana in supporting roles. Pathaan, an exiled RAW agent, works with ISI agent Rubina Mohsin to take down Jim, a former RAW agent, who plans to attack India with a deadly virus. 

Jawan is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film co-written and directed by Atlee in his Hindi film debut. It is produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma under Red Chillies Entertainment. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan in a dual role as father and son who team up to rectify corruption in society. Animal is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language action drama film directed and edited by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Pranay Reddy Vanga and Saurabh Gupta. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Pranay Reddy Vanga, Krishan Kumar and Murad Khetani under T-Series Films, Bhadrakali Pictures and Cine1 Studios. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, and Tripti Dimri. In the film, Ranvijay "Vijay" Singh learns about an assassination attempt on his father and sets out to exact revenge.

Can you drive a manual car? Also not yet, but hopefully soon, since I am in the process of getting my license (have I already complained how expensive it is? No??? I have to pay like 4000€ QwQ (normal price ik but still expensive))

Guilty pleasure? Those 'cringey' 2010s songs, like Fight Song. Idk why but there’s nothing more effective for cheering me up. I also love watching Bollywood dance scenes, the music and the energy!! Nothing compares for me. I also consume an unhealthy amount of Yogurette. Also (mostly passively) engaging in some petty internet drama for funsies! So entertaining

Favourite colour? Blue and pink (in Barbie movie style)

Favourite type of music? Oooh I dunno, I like those 2000s party songs but also songs like The Adults are talking (no idea what genre that is) and some Bollywood songs. I’ve also recently taken a liking to German music again

Do you like Puzzles? Depends, I like jigsaw puzzles just fine, but others not so much, I’m not much of a riddler

Favourite childhood sport? Zumba (type of choreographed dancing) and fencing. Fencing was exhausting but so fun, sadly I didn’t like the trainer

First thing you wanted to be when growing up? Princess, because I could’ve had all the horses I wanted. Also Egyptologist. No idea wich one came first

What movies do you adore? Tough, I don’t really watch many movies anymore. But I like the Top Gun movies, watched the second part in the cinema, which was awesome and the Batman Unlimited movies since I like the artstyle in those. I also like Jawan (2023), an Indian movie and one of the best films I’ve watched recently. SRK and his gang of 6 women rightening the Gouvernement with a bit of found family themes and accidental child acquisition. Some very heart wrenching scenes but also plenty of fun action, some dance scenes and SRK looking hot as ever in his father/son double role. There are some scenes that could be very triggering tho, same for the next movie I like Happy New Year (2014), although this movies is more of a comedy and there are less sad scenes. Also Mohini is one of my fave characters I love her

Contrary to expectations, the superstar was not anticipating Pathaan-level box office numbers for his Hirani-directed outing. “After doing two back-to-back action films, Shah Rukh was looking forward to Dunki,” Hirani said.

Jawaan was great and I really enjoyed, but somehow I feel bollywood did not really exploit the great acting quality of SRK, actor srk kind of got overpowered by the star SRK. Yes, I am SRKian. To answer you honestly, no, I don't think now is the right time. Currently Indian film entertainment market is not favorable for experimental movies or actors. For now, there is a clear distinction - all the experimental, drama heavy, or script led content is working on OTT platforms. Whereas, on multiplexes, if we go by the last three quarters or even year, then what worked is larger than life story telling filled with high octane action and decent script. Take into account the movies that were successful on Box Office - Jawan, Pathaan, Gadar, KGF II, RRR, Vikram etc...All of them got decent storyline, which is backed by high octane actions and shock values.

At times of inflation, people are visiting cinemas, spending pretty good chunk of money, so they don't expect to watch a movie that can be easily consumed on OTT platforms.

Also, as far as SRK is concerned, I think he had done his far share of experimental work with Swades, My Name Is Khan, Fan, Ra.One, Zero - none of them worked. Ra.One and Zero getting flop was understandable as the script was shit but rest all were quite different and interesting films, and people liked them when it was premiered on TV. On theaters, it didn't do well.

With Pathaan, Jawaan, and Dunki SRK, it was quite clear that he was making these movies for his youngest son. He wanted to show him why so many people come to greet papa everyday, why they stand for hours outside his bungalow? Why was his papa famous? He proved with Pathaan and Jawan.

Now, post Dunki, let see what SRK decides to do. It all depends on him because he is at the top level of his career, that too, at the age of 57. He has proved that he is still the Badshah of Bollywood. I mean, now he got fan following from three different generations, which is huge. So, at the level that he is, I think he should do cinema only because he likes the script.
