Today's shock when I saw bsd characters/writers books in mall and I was like "I know these names (...mori, ...dazai, ...kenji, ....akutagawa w their full names) from somewhere??" then it hit me 😭
I didn't get any of the books because I wasn't sure if it's really my taste & like them. If any of you know and tell me what they're about exactly or would you recommend and which one (writer/book) I'd love to hear your thoughts ☕💭

Thank you, Bungo Street Dogs, for introducing me to japanese literature.
Fuck you, Bungo Street Dogs, for flooding these authors search page, making it harder to find them.
Was I too naive to believe that the anime being famous would make their books and biographies ease to find? I'm not talking about No Longer Human, that's the exception, you can find that anywhere. Chuuya Nakahara was a dadaist and a symbolist, which is my favorite literary current, I was really intrigued by him.
His book was NEVER translated to my language. It'd have to import that from America, and boy, that's would be expensive. The only thing I found was a university study that translated like two poems. I'm not entirely blaming the fandom for it, but damn, it does make it harder to research for his content because every time I try to find a way around it my screen gets fooled by anime boy merch/fanart/edit/ship/cosplay/etc. No, I do nt want to buy a body pillow with a sexy image of an anime boy, I want to buy the book of one of Japan's greatest authors.
Double fuck you, Bungo Street Dogs, for disrespecting real life people.
Justice for Mori Ōgai, who was never a pedophile. His books are actually really good. Did you know Vita Sexuallis is about him being assexual? And that Elise is not even in that book? Btw, Dancing Girl is an amazing, yet I believe intensionally disturbing book, and she was 15, not 5.
With all that said, I firmly believe that BSD should have never used the names of real life people, that's just a disrespectful disservice. It'd be way better to have changed the names, even if there still inspired by said authors. These are real people who lived and breathed and felt and thought. There are not puppets for you to play.
I swear if I die and anyone tries to do that to me, I'm coming to haunt you.

It's been a while, here's what I've been up to:
So, two words, college applications. I've been preparing for applications next semester, which means I have to take allll my APs and other things, as well as prepare for my school play. I know I should be managing my time better, but hey, it is what it is.
They dropped a new Dazai translation to the set and I couldn't resist buying it. Very very excited to start it, I'll try to finish and give a review by the end of this week! The translator isn't Keene, but I have my expectations hehe
The Dazai Set is now complete??? I don't know if New Directions will add more, but if there are others to collect, just know I will have already bought them haha
Hope all of you have been doing well!

Before the Coffee Gets Cold
A small cafe in Tokyo provides a cozy nook and high quality coffee. But as the legend goes, you can also travel in time at cafe Furniculì Furniculà – provided you remember to follow the rules. I need japanese female writers recommendations
I love Yukio Mishima and Dazai, I´d love to dig deep more into Japanese literature, but I´d love to read female authors, any good recommendations? I don´t care the time period. I´ve read Genji Monogatari two years ago from Murasaki Shikibu and I loved it.
But I love more about dark themes, introspection, drama, etc.

Okay after a few hours nap, I just finished this. And oh my god I loved it. Now I wanna try to get the Japanese copy and give that a go. I also gotta get a physical copy and annotate it cause oh god I have thoughts!

I started this tonight. It’s so short, maybe I could finish it tonight as well. I just wanted something short and sweet. Which is very much unlike me. But anything Japanese I’m all onboard for. 🌸
