A couple of notes on my take on sapphic Poolverine:

-wolverine's full name is Jane Lenore Howlett, she mainly goes by Jane, she still goes as wolverine as her hero persona

-Lady Deadpool startet to call her Lottie (because of her middle name, Lenore) because it rhymes with Hottie "hottie Lottie"

-doesn't really cares about makeup, sometimes she can indulge a bit in wearing black lipstick but she's always seen with eyeliner....it's for intimidating purposes she says .....sure thing, we say (she's lying, she enjoys doing her eyeliner)

-Jane gives zero fucks about shaving, but we stand a soft fuzzy gal, so kuddos to her, Lady Deadpool says she is "as soft as a kitten"

-fashion wise Jane is all about the ripped jeans, combat boots, tank tops, sleeveless crop tops, flannels and ofc a good leather jacket

-Lady Deadpool's name is Winnona Wilson (I know her canon name is Wanda in the comics but marvel come on, there's already another Wanda and plenty of female W names, get creative!...plus Winnona is cuter)

-wolverine calls her whinennona, whiny or straight up Wilson depending on her mood

-Winnona LOVES accessories And is oftenly wearing wigs, cute hats, beanies and bandanas in her head when she's not wearing her mask, she loves makeup too! She enjoys false eyelashes, lipstick and sometimes eyeshadow, she draws in her eyebrows but she doesn't wears foundation tho, it irritates her skin a lot

-she probably has the biggest cute and funny earrings collection ever. Fashion wise I can see her rocking low waist jeans, rhinestone belts, crop tops and those juicy couture velvet tracksuits lol

Jane Howlette is an Interesting twist on the "Wolverine" myth, playing on Canadian history late 1800s/early 1900s.

Born 1885, raised to be a good settler lady (and all the societal misogyny that implies), but after a drunk killed her parents (leaving her Orphaned) she inherited their wealth and gained some freedom.

Also, I love this art style. I would love a Jane series that follows her through her longevity, since she is only 24 when introduced in Weapon X-men.

Since you have read weapon X-Men, did it also seem to you like it went out of its way to tell the reader that the lady wolverine didn't know a version of jean? It came up multiple times in a way that felt intentional but also like, weird? I can't figure out if I'm just giving a bad faith reading by thinking it's just a big no homo thing or if it's supposed to be like setting something up for later (obviously can't confirm this until more issues come out). You always have good insight into comics and gays and comics gays so I thought I'd see if you had any thoughts

i actually didnt read it LOL i just saw the preview pages online. the writer, christos gage, has written a number of queer characters in his marvel work (he created stryker in avengers academy and established that julie power was into girls, and he also wrote the annihilation: quasar miniseries which had a strong focus on moondragon and phyla's relationship) so i doubt he would go out of his way to "no homo" a character like that. i was also disappointed when i saw that jane howlett never met a version of jean, but now that you mention it i do kind of wonder if it's setup for something later......there's an interview with christos gage where he says that jane has been trying to avoid getting married and has succeeded only bc she's very wealthy, which of course is reasonable for any woman to try to do but also makes me wonder hmmmm could she be a lesbian........but i know that's probably pretty unlikely, in part bc if she was a lesbian then that probably wouldve been announced when her character debut was announced, unless it was a big plot twist........sorry i'm just rambling lol in conclusion i would say with this particular writer i wouldn't expect a desire to reinforce every character's heterosexuality so that emphasis you noticed is likely for some other reason but i guess we will see!
