[ad_1] Cleiton Silva and Madih Talal for East Bengal (Image: Debasis Sen) Yet another Kolkata derby in the Indian Super League (ISL) ended in defeat for East Bengal – a ninth without a win, including eight losses. The record of conceding at least two goals was kept intact as Mohun Bagan won the clash 2-0 at the Salt Lake Stadium on Saturday night. It was East Bengal’s fifth consecutive league defeat to start the season. Why are they not getting into rhythm? What is going wrong for them? There are more questions than answers to East Bengal’s situation. Former head coach Carles Cuadrat was forced to resign because of fan pressure and Oscar Bruzon, highly regarded, was brought in to save East Bengal from further misery. He came, he saw, but why did he stand in the dugout? On the biggest matchday, Bruzon, who landed less than 20 hours before the game at 3:30 am, was in the dugout as the head coach of East Bengal. “I spoke to coach Bino (George) and spent online sessions with the team,” said Bruzon in the post-match press conference. Sadly, Bino George, who was interim coach, was neglected the moment Bruzon became available. George, who spent numerous training sessions with the team and had them playing eye-catching football in Jamshedpur, could have been given charge of the derby as a matter of respect. The lack of intent to win was evident in the East Bengal players throughout the game. The underwhelming display of football was saddening for the thousands of supporters who filled the stadium with high hopes. The difference in skills and fitness between the two teams was crystal clear. The East Bengal players, as in every other game this season, looked unfit in the last quarter. Bagan’s bench strength is far superior to East Bengal’s. When a team can bring in Sahal Abdul Samad and Dimitri Petratos in the second half, it speaks a lot about the depth of squad. Whereas for East Bengal, it was a struggle to field a threatening forward line with Dimitrios Diamantakos not fully fit. East Bengal technical team with Oscar Bruzon and Bino George (Image: Debasis Sen) What is the way forward? This is a question asked by thousands of East Bengal fans and football critics for the last few years, yet it remains unanswered. East Bengal might be in for even worse days up ahead – Anwar Ali’s verdict, a potential transfer ban, and financial compensation all await. If Anwar gets a four-month ban, then he will miss half the season. With a transfer ban, East Bengal’s hopes of bringing in Robson Robinho, the former Bashundhara Kings forward, will fade. Cleiton Silva, whatever service he gave last season, hasn’t done the business this time and is reportedly not in Bruzon’s plans. Let’s also not forget potentially huge financial sanctions. Just a few years ago, East Bengal fans mocked their arch-rivals for selling their club and merging with ATK. #RemoveATK slogans and social-media trends flooded the internet. Later, the ATK prefix was removed and the new entity, Mohun Bagan Super Giant, was formed. The team have consistently delivered since this merger. “It was after this joint venture that Mohun Bagan has become stronger than ever,” Debasish Dutta, Mohun Bagan’s general secretary, told the media while pointing out the mockery the club was subjected to. “It was the way forward.” Anwar Ali for East Bengal (Image: Debasis Sen) Whether someone likes it or not, money talks. Leicester City’s 2016 EPL triumph won’t happen often. Mohun Bagan’s squad is worth Rupees 70 crores, while East Bengal’s is valued at around 40 crores. That difference was evident. Now, the question is, for how much longer will Emami tolerate making such losses? JSW with Bengaluru FC, RPSG with Mohun Bagan and the City Football Group with Mumbai City – these are all conglomerates with other big sporting ventures that can fund their ISL sides. So, is the way forward for East Bengal such a merger? Whatever it is, the answer has to come soon, for the sake of the club, the fans and for Indian football.

Importance Of Quality Plumbing Services
It’s too easy to voluntarily take things like flush toilets and running water. However, if something goes wrong, minor plumbing issues can be more of a nuisance and you should call a licensed plumber to fix it quickly. Whether you are a plumber or own a property and you are repairing or upgrading, anything that should be a priority in any plumbing job is the use of standard products. You can save some money by using cheaper, inferior parts and products, but there are many reasons to use high-quality parts and components. - Plumber in Jamshedpur
These are just some of the many reasons to invest in better-quality plumbing services for your residential or commercial plumbing system.
General plumbing repair
It is a fact residential or commercial water systems run without the owner's active attention, but even minor plumbing issues can damage your property very badly if you delay the repair service.
The schedule typically includes the repair of small leaks from gas and water pipes, running or blocked toilets, clogged drains, dripping taps, ruptured pipes, water pressure changes, and damaged valves.
Why are standard products important?
In an emergency, plumbers are often needed to replace damaged, worn-out bathroom fixtures and plumbing work. Other larger plumbing work may include hot water systems, bathtubs, and sink. Using high-quality plumbing products can help:
Water damage prevention
Quality Plumbing services bring great benefits. If plumbing system are not properly managed, in the event of accidents such as water leaks and floods, they can cause significant damage to your property. The use of quality plumbing and drainage products can reduce the risk of these adverse events because high-quality products and components last longer and reduce the risk of mechanical failure.
Improve hygiene and well-being
With standard products, your plumbing system is better suited for proper cleaning of clean and dirty water at every stage. From the entrance to disposal, your system can ensure optimal hygiene results as well as overall health and safety results.
Price reduction
Quality plumbing products are more durable and based on higher production standards. In the long run, this can only save consumers the cost of repairing and maintaining defective products. If the product breaks down during the warranty or guaranteed operation period, it can also save the assembler for essential calls and lost customers.
Easy installation
Installing lower-quality plumbing products can be more difficult and time-consuming. This is a waste of time for both consumers and buyers and can increase labor costs.
Stability and efficiency
If the product quality is higher, the longer it will work and the happier the customer will be.
Prevention of general damage
By using high-quality parts, your plumbing system can be more efficient and can compromise your sensitivity. For example, a faulty water valve can damage a hot water tank, which means you will need further repairs.
Warranty
High-quality parts can be covered by better warranty conditions, which in turn can save both consumers & plumbers, more money and time for maintenance and repairs.
Quality plumbing products are key
Choosing cheap, non-certified plumbing products can be tempting if you’re looking for ways to save money, but in the end, it can cost even more. Risks between installers and users include higher repair, maintenance, and replacement costs.
Save as much time as possible for better products, delays, repairs, and repetitive work. Customers will be happy with your service and will likely sign up again.
Timely service delivery
We know it's hard to wait a whole day to fix a little problem. Plumbing issues like leaky faucets and clogging the sink seem trivial, but they can ruin your peace of mind and your routine. For professionals, minor issues can be fixed in minutes. If you are having plumbing issues in your home or office, whether large or small, contact a plumber directly.

Dhamra port
Dhamra port
Dhamra Port is a newly developed port in Bhadrak district. It is located on the coast of the Bay of Bengal, about 7 km from the old port of Dhamra.
History-- BC Dhamra is one of the 12 ports built in Kalinga in the second century. Greek tourist Ptolemy describes it as Adam. According to Shivaprasad Das's book 'Odisha of the Past', the ancient name of the Adham Baitarani Muhan Dhamra was Dham or Dhamma. There was an ancient city and a harbor. It has now been destroyed in the Salandi, Baitarani and Brahmani floods.
New port-- An agreement to develop the port was signed in 1998. As a result, Dhamra Port Company Limited (DPCL) was formed in a 50:50 joint venture between Larson & Toubro and Tata Steel. The first ship arrived at the port on February 8, 2010, and the first merchant ship arrived on April 10, 2011. The port's annual capacity will initially be 25 million tonnes, and will gradually increase to 80 million tonnes per year. Greenpeace has said it will be affected by the recent extinction of the rare Olive Ridley tortoise sanctuary.
Purpose-- A $ 12 million steel plant will be set up by South Korea's Posco, which will pave the way for new jobs and economic growth. The port will import and export metals from iron ore mines. The Odisha government has plans to set up other industries in the area. One of these is the shipbuilding plant and the production of petrochemical gas-based producer Tumb. There are also plans to create housing, health care and other urban-like facilities.
Construction-- The Government of Odisha signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Seaports in April 1998 on the basis of BOOST (Build-Own-Operate-Share-and-Transfer). It will take 30 years to complete, and it will work on a four-year plan. The work was handed over to Dhamra Port Trust Company Limited in May 1999. (Dhamra Port Company Limited) (DPCL). Construction began in 2005, and by 2006, the land required for rail siding had been completed. The port will have 13 berths and a capacity of 83 million tonnes per year. At the initial stage, two 350-meter berths have been built for the importation of combustible coal, steam coal, thermal coal and limestone, and for the export of mixed iron and steel, which can be successfully transported to transport goods. The initial capacity will be 15.25 million tonnes of coal and limestone imports and 9.75 million tonnes of iron ore and steel exports. For this, there will be a maritime system of 18 km. The 62-kilometer railway line connecting Bhadrak and Ranital was inaugurated on May 8, 2011. This is the first line of Indian Railways aimed at industrial development based on revenue sharing. It is an agreement between the Indian Railways and the port of Dhamra. The first cruise ship arrived in Australia from Australia in September 2010, bringing in 45,000 tonnes of cooking coal for the Tata Steel plant in Jamshedpur.
Natural crisis-- The coast of Odisha is prone to storms. "It simply came to our notice then. In the past, it was protected by a 5 km long forest, but today it has been destroyed due to the construction of dams on the river, etc. The epicenter was reported below the Pacific Ocean floor, however; no tsunami alert was issued. The deep port project is said to be responsible for the destruction of the forest, including the nearby Bhitarkanika Sanctuary. In May 2010, 20 political leaders protested and blocked construction. They commented that this was contrary to the Forest Protection Act of 1980. The port is located north of the Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary, where 20,00,000 to 50,00,000 female Olive Ridley turtles lay their eggs each year. Environmentalists say the area around the port is not their place to lay their eggs, but environmentalists say it will affect the pollution caused by the port. In July 2007, Greenpeace activists rallied in front of the Tata Group's headquarters in Bombay to demand the closure of the port for the protection of turtles. DCPL. (DPCL) rejected it as baseless. They said the environmental clearance had already been obtained. The tortoise's nesting site is far to the south, and the shipping route will in no way affect the way the tortoises come and go. Tata & Sons has filed a lawsuit against Tata & Sons in the Delhi High Court alleging that the Turtle vs TATA "Green Turtle vs Tata" website had a reputation for defaming Tata and interfering in its trademark.

COVID-19: In Kerala's Kannur, a footballer responds to a call - Times of India

COVID-19: In Kerala's Kannur, a footballer responds to a call - Times of India
NEW DELHI: Mobile phones are a strict no-no for any sportsman in training, but these days, when CK Vineeth lands up at his centre each morning, he makes sure his phone is charged to the max. Back home from Jamshedpur FC after the Indian Super League season, the midfielder hasn’t kicked a ball for over a month now but that’s the least of his worries currently.
Vineeth needs his phone and all the other lines ready at the Covid-19 call centre where he’s volunteered to take calls for essential and relief supplies in Kerala’s Kannur district. Much of the district’s semi-rural population relies on the Peringome Vayakkara panchayat call centre which is manned by the former India international and his team. As part of an outreach model set up by the Kerala State Sports Council in partnership with the local zilla panchayats, the idea is to deliver essential supplies within 24 hours after procuring them from the local supermarket in the area.
“Speed is of essence. It is a busy time,” he tells TOI during a hastily-taken lunch break, “The phones are already ringing when I reach at 10 in the morning and I leave with the same sound ringing in the evening. I personally take between 100 to 150 calls each day.
“Most calls are mostly for vegetables, rice or medicines. But sometimes there are calls asking for hair dye too,” he chuckles.
But Vineeth is careful to add that it is not an emergency despite the Kannur region being among the more affected areas in Kerala. “We have identified about 60 cases in Kannur. It had to do with a lot of people returning from abroad. Around 10 of those were already infected when they arrived, only about six or seven were infected due to local transmission.”
Kerala is the leading example in containment of the pandemic with the highest recovery and lowest mortality rates so far among all Indian states. A TOI report on Friday says that of 52 cases reported in Kannur till last week, 15 tested negative and were discharged. None of them had to be admitted to the ICU.
Vineeth is admittedly a bit taken aback by the sudden attention around his volunteering work. A number of Indian sportspersons – most notably Joginder Sharma – too have been in the frontline in the battle against the pandemic. “Why this sudden fuss?” asks Vineeth, “The other day, Antony Varghese (Malayalam film actor of Angamaly Diaries fame) who is good friends with cricketer Ifran Pathan, was mentioning to me how Irfan was really involved with relief and supplies work in Baroda,” he says, “We are only doing what we are supposed to do.”
Vineeth says that through the state Sports Council, a number of local and state-level sports persons are currently helping out in some form or the other across Kerala. “This is not like the Kerala floods of 2018, where we all could essentially contribute or help in whatever way. This time, you just have to be in lockdown and hope the supplies reach you,” says the footballer who had helped in rescue and relief work during the floods of 2018.
Most famous for returning home and ploughing his family paddy fields during the football off-season, Vineeth borrows from football and family in his little endeavour. “This is a team sport at the moment. No one can do it on their own. I owe my career as a footballer to the people. This is my way of giving it back,” he says, “And believe me, this is a very small contribution really.”

age: 33 years old gender: trans female, she/her hometown: Jamshedpur, Jharkand, India occupation: singer allegiance: Children of the Light
most child stars burn bright for a moment and then fade into oblivion, living out their adulthood as nostalgic reminders of times gone by, barely recognized. Missy Kapoor, however, was a success story. she successfully transitioned from Bollywood child star to pop singer at the same time as she transitioned to living as a woman, and in some miracle, some testament to just how beloved she was, managed to retain her popularity and her amazing fans through it all. she was an inspiration, a bright star in the eyes of the public, a poster on every little girl’s bedroom wall. her music was catchy and inoffensive, selling well in a number of demographics; her international tours were packed with people from all over the world who wanted to see her perform; and she was gracious and pleasant to talk to, every interviewer told the world, every magazine boasted. she guest starred on TV shows without letting her acting outshine what mattered most to her and her fans: her music. it was a balancing act, a testament to what a perfectly proportioned life and an immense amount of hard work could do. she was a star, and she had earned it.
it was only a logical assumption, then, that if beloved celebrities were becoming gods, Missy would be among the first to rise. her fans knew it, and even if she refused to publicly acknowledge the possibility, her fans had already started guessing at what god she would be. Missy wasn’t immune to the sudden flood of fanart, the t-shirts, the posters at her concerts, the worship – maybe her fans were right, maybe she would become a god. she didn’t want to get her sights set on something that felt impossible but… then again, it didn’t feel all that impossible. she’d earned it, hadn’t she? but one god was revealed, and then the next, and then the next, one after another until there were twelve, and that was what they said, wasn’t it? twelve gods made the Pantheon, and now there were twelve. her fans began to drift, her concerts grew emptier and emptier, her merch failed to sell. there were more exciting things now, after all, gods to worship, miracles to attend.
but she refused to fade out into oblivion, refused to let her time in the spotlight be over. she sought out and joined what seemed like the most promising and ruthless of the anti-Pantheon groups, the Children of the Light, and she vowed to do whatever they needed. she would do whatever it took to regain what was rightfully hers, whether it was by discrediting the Pantheon and depriving them of her fans – or, now that people are becoming gods yet again, by becoming one of them, whatever that might take.
Conor Hale – Conor worked as a sound technician for Missy on one of her first US tours, about eight or nine years ago; he was one of the friendliest people she’s ever worked with and she still considers him a friend and loves running into him.
Miles Asher – Miles and Missy met through the Children of the Light, and more than anyone else in the group, she sees him as an ally; while she might not feel that she could trust Katsumi or Victor or Imogen, all of whom have their own agendas, she feels fairly certain that Miles would side with her in any argument.
Alexander Pang -- Missy knows he doesn’t need protecting -- hell, he’s tougher than she’ll ever be and twice as strong -- but she still feels protective of Alex. she worries about him, worries that he’s working too hard, worried that he’ll be disappointed if things don’t work out in the single-minded way he’s imagining they will.
Missy Kapoor is played by Priyanka Chopra and she is open.
