Harvey Dent wearing cologne headcanons

Imagine he has a boat load of them on his dresser in his room. The ones he use rotates based on the season, the occasion, and what he’s wearing for that day.

When he moved in with Bruce there were lots of boxes just for his colognes that are meant to be handled with care. He likes that Bruce sometimes wears his colognes, which makes him feel all warm and giddy inside.

He likes it even more when he catches Bruce spraying the cologne on the sheets and pillowcases when Harvey’s away for work.

After the kids get comfortable with him, he catches them stealing his cologne and wearing it all the time.

“Oh, Mr. Dent, I didn't know you and Tim used the same cologne,” Bernard said one time, for the rest of the dinner Tim couldn't even look at Harvey.

It's especially funny because he spent the whole day saying that he wasn't the one stealing his cologne. Jason wanted to laugh too bc he was just as bad as Tim.

Harvey takes Tim and Jason cologne shopping when they want to impress their partners but they still insist on stealing his, the man will never know peace.

Bruce doesn’t come out for hours because he's just too embarrassed at being caught in the act. The Batman gets caught, for shame honestly.

Harvey used to wear those men's colognes with metal and sandalwood scents when he was younger but he matured into floral scents now.

Bruce’s favorite scent of his is the rose one from this thrift store downtown.

Every year for his birthday, the kids and Bruce give him custom-made ccologne and he just dies every time. Doesn't mean those are off limits from being stolen either but at least get those back.

If he falls out of love with a scent, he'll give it to one his kids or Bruce.

YES!!! my loves <3 benny is such a soft sweet man. the perfect person for young vets jamie in my mind.

- benny just. loves him so much. even before his little blurting it out confession moment in el dorado he’d known for a while. loved him as a friend in bagram obviously but.

- it’s different now. loves how much jamie trusts him. is so proud of him makin’ progress on getting his life back on track. loves how much he makes him laugh and that he has a good sense of humor in spite of everything. loves how patient he was w/ benny not having slept with guys before him and has Big Feelings about how jamie taught him all that. loves his heart and his big eyes and just. all of it. loves him completely.

- this is something i’m gonna write in part 2 but benny brings him to a get together at his work that people are bringing their partners to and it goes. not that great.

- jamie knows benny loves him and wants him there but he feels so wildly out of place w/ all his wallstreet co-workers and their wives that clearly aren’t walking around with a TBI, that clearly aren’t “fucked up like him” etc etc. feels like he’s an embarrassment to benny and then someone asks about how they met/the war and it kinda. derails from there.

- walks off to hide in the bathroom and have a panic attack and feels even worse about it because oh boy now he’s really done it. now benny has to deal with his co-workers reacting to his little fuck up boyfriend having a freakout at this nice establishment he clearly doesn’t belong at.

- but benny is just. so good about it. tells the one co-worker that makes a “damn what’s his problem?” comment to fuck off and goes after him. crouches on the bathroom floor to hold his hands and make him follow his breathing to talk him off that ledge. kisses his head and tells him they’re gonna go home, it’s okay- not one thing to be embarrassed about.

- later when jamie is a little more calm and they’re talking about it he still feels *awful* but benny’s like. i go to work because it is a job, i like numbers and it pays. 98% of those people aren’t people i wanna hang out with anyways, i don’t care what they think of me. i do care about you.

- it takes a lot of time for jamie to reallyyy get in his head that benny isn’t going anywhere, that he really isn’t gonna drive him away etc etc. but he gets there. with lots of forehead smooches and assurance <3

An all-time favorite... the first movie I saw multiple times in the theater. I have this movie on VHS, DVD, and Blu-ray. I have the soundtrack on cassette and CD. I have the book, movie posters, magazines and clothes. I'm starting to wonder if I was a tiny bit obsessed with this movie. 🤔😆

The Lost Boys (1987)

I know you've all been waiting for this one: Sum of Our Parts (yes I finally got to Meghan Fitzmartin).

The very first thing I'll say: yeah, I see why DC commissioned more stuff from her after getting this and seeing the response. It's a solid opening showing her ability to write Tim.

There were a lot of moving parts that needed to be re-established and tidied up in this story, and I can see the list being worked through:-

Name: being very clear Tim is currently Robin, because since Tynion's 'Tec run ended, his name and costume have been varying by who is writing him with very little consistency.

Tim not going to university: this probably did need a push back on, because Tynion just waved the door open on that again during Joker War.

The fact that Tim and Steph are broken up (sort of essential for the plot being told)

Playing with the themes of moving on from Robin (but in this case using it as a frame to actually be the bait and switch that it's coming out instead)

Bernard is clearly an OC from the ground up who shares a name and hair colour with his previous existence. Which, look, Bernard was a pretty thin character with basically two personality traits (conspiracy theorist/trying really hard to project cool), and it is of course fairly arguable that Bernard was projecting a front at 16 that he no longer needs now he's accepted his identity. But it would be nice to have that conveyed in the text, rather than something you infer to try and connect two characters who are otherwise unalike. Especially given how much of the story is Tim reflecting on himself.

Even a line or two more about how he doesn't feel the need for a front anymore to line up with Tim having revelations. "Tell Tim Drake...he helped me realise my true self. Who I am" is nice enough but it could still use some more acknowledgement of how that changed his personality. It's just this nice parallel that could have helped develop the themes more securely. There's a bunch of possible implications you can read into the story (particularly in terms of how the Dowd parents really ARE characterised lightly as Fanon Drakes, between the polite fronts and implications that Bernard was previously abused at home in this) and this is one of the things that while I don't mind how much of this story Fitzmartin was telling via implication, a few more concrete things confirmed would have helped.

If I were going to make a solid stab of a guess at what sections of Robin Fitzmartin liked/reread in the lead into writing this, I honestly think it was Fabian Nicieza's Robin run (and probably parts of Red Robin). It's just...a lot of the characterisation has some very similar notes to it. Tim's got the same sort of smug confident edge to his internal commentary, the ways his skills are portrayed, and Detective Williams even reminds me quite a bit of Officer Jamie Harper. (I don't think she actually looked back over Willingham).

It's also very much a coming out story, and I do appreciate in that Fitzmartin does try to be delicate about it and doesn't whack you over the head with the bluntest lines possible (I just suffered through that in Infinite Frontier #0 with Alan Scott and good god did I cringe the entire way through the 'yes while you are my biological children and I have indeed been married. to women. I am gay. Listen to me come out.'), the amount of implied themes she levels through it is still substantial. It could have used slightly more focus on the actual underlying mystery.

I can also see the start of the situation where the story needs to decide whether Bernard Knows or Doesn't Know. Because both states would allow for situations with a lot of drama (and potentially identity shenanigans which are the best shenanigans), but just having it as sort of vacillating in the middle as something that doesn't need to be investigated? It's leaving a lot of potential storytelling on the floor that could instead be used to send Tim through the wringer. (Also Tim wow half of that cult probably could have figured out your identity, you weren't subtle)

Look, I don't think this story contained the greatest Barbara Gordon characterisation ever written, but it was within the bounds of overly-interfering, self-righteous and pushy Babs, which is something that does pop up at times. It felt in conversation with her characterisation in Batgirl 2009, and while I don't LIKE the way Babs is written in it, especially in regards to Steph, it makes sense in terms of the direction DC was pivoting at this point in terms of leading into the whole Batgirls title.

Fitzmartin was also clearly using Steph characterisation from very late Robin/BFTC/start of Red Robin, when they were fighting, in terms of how she's trying to have Steph needle at Tim's sore points, and set up a dichotomy of 'Steph has it together/Tim does not'.

And yes, Belén Ortega's art is very, VERY pretty.

I saw this play quite a number of times, both in London, and in New York…and I happened to see both of these events! The melon in the wine glass Tom got out of by telling the waiter, when he next appeared, to take away the old one and to fetch a clean, new one (his tone of voice implying “on the double!”) - which was very much in keeping with his character’s state of mind at that point, to be demanding and brusque with the waiter.

The melon on the floor…yep, Tom just picked it up and ate it. His character was furiously stabbing and chomping down everything in front of him, conquering the food; it did seem in character. After Tom put the melon in his mouth and was chewing it…yes, you could see the look pass between the two actors: “Did you REALLY just put that melon from the floor back into your mouth?!!” “Oh yes, I did - oops! And I am chewing it right now. And I have to keep chewing and swallow it because it would be out of character to spit it back out at this point.” You could see both actors on the verge of cracking up, but holding it together, and saying the next line without losing it.

Then, on either the last night, or the second to last night of the play in New York, when Tom filled Charlie’s glass with “Corvo Bianco” during that same scene - for both runs of the play, he had been filling it extremely full, as part of his passive-aggressive actions towards Charlie, since Tom now knew at that point that Charlie was having an affair with Tom’s wife.  This particular night, however, Tom filled it - I swear - almost a quarter-inch above the top of the glass, with just the barest of surface tension managing to keep it from spilling all over the table. Charlie watched Tom do this with surprise, and as he was about to reach for the glass and drink out of it - which was now going to be an Olympic sport, to achieve doing so without spilling it all over the place – Charlie said under his breath, “You bastard!”. Tom glowed with mischievous glee, although he didn’t break character.

Much fun!

- jamie would like. cringe so hard his chest hurts being called soft lmao. but. he’s a good boy. got a good heart under all that angst and tough. loves benny so so much and has never loved someone outside his family like that. didn’t think he ever would.

- thinks he’s so smart and funny and kind. a whole lot kinder than he ever thought he deserved. especially when all the shit with his sister happens and he’s so game to bring jamie’s lil nephew into his life on a dime. doesn’t understand what he did to get such a good man and good love. <3

- he likes watching benny when he’s sleeping. thinks he looks so cuteeee and it makes him feel all soft just watching the rise and fall of his chest next to him. jamie likes real gently stroking through his hair when he’s asleep and watching him react a little in his sleep. one of those moments is when the oh oh oh i love you so much hits him like a truck.

- doesn’t say it back after benny says it in el dorado for. some time though. on top of suddenly having to handle his sister and his nephew it’s just. a big Thing for him and a commitment that really scares him.

- prob says it back for the first time during sex lmao. it happens. but benny is just so pretty holding onto him grabbing at him while jamie’s riding him and when he’s close mumbling about how much he loves him how could he not say it back.

- he says it again when they’re actually getting ready for bed. all nervous lingering in the doorway when benny is brushing his teeth. benny immediately puts his tooth brush down and spits and motions him over so he can make him say it again and kiss him <3 sweet boy.

- when him and curt have mostly patched things over and are friends again he still lovesss ribbing him that kenny made him soft but. curt gets his lick back. sees how he looks at benny and how soft he is with him and throws that ribbing right back.

- they’re like the leastTM pda out of everyone even when they’re out and everyone knows they’re together. just not something that either of them are really super into. they’re both private people and value having something that’s Just Theirs.

- but the little bit they do is soo soft and sweet and definitely earned curt telling jamie he’s been domesticated lmao.

Older!Cotc AU Info

Hello!! I wanted to make a post with all my hcs/ideas of both the older creek kids and next generation creek kids. These are all headcanons of course!! 💝😊💝 This post follows the Stump Gang & main next Gen Kids.

Craig & Omar:

Before they got together, they used to date other people.

For Craig (from middle school to high school): Vanessa, Eileen, Canon Ball, & Dianne.

For Omar (MS to HS): Jp & Toman.

There was a 2-3 year gap where Omar & Craig hadn’t seen each other due to Omar leaving to college outside of Herkleton.

During a college break, Omar returned to Herkleton where the two reconnected. Since then they've been inseparable.

Craig (28) works as a carpenter contractor. Omar (30) works from home as a welder.

Craig still has a passion for art and still creates projects on the side (both personal and professional work).

They have one child as of right now named Sonya (3). Isabella/Stack’s is her surrogate mother.

Since Omar stays at home the most, Sonya favors him more over Craig (rip Craig 😔😂)

These two act like carbon copies of Craig’s parents with how openly goofy and affectionate they are to one another & to Sonya.

They own 1 cat and 1 big St. Bernard.

Kelsey & Isabella:

These two are the definition of childhood sweethearts. They’ve had a few fights sure but never broken up or took breaks from each other.

Kelsey (27) is the school coach at Herkleton High School. Isabella (27) works at the Library.

Even with their separate jobs, they still find time to write together and brainstorm on new story ideas. They still plan on releasing a novel together ❤️

When Craig & Omar were looking for a surrogate, Kelsey had offered to be it for them. But after they told her what she could and couldn’t do for 9 months she backed out. (Isabella happily volunteered afterwards)

They have 2 adopted kids together: Jamie (9) & Laura (10).

As a family they like to go to the gym or park together to exercise and bond. Kelsey & Jamie work out more for muscle/strength where as Isabella & Laura exercise for fun.

Aside from exercising, they like to read books together! Though it’s harder for Jamie to join in at first (he’s dyslexic). With some help & patience he’ll get there tho 💪🏽🌟🌟

As adults and parents they still have that fire & ice attitude!! Kelsey being very energetic & outspoken for her family while being warm & welcoming to them/others. Isabella being calm & understanding of her families needs while being strong & assertive when she needs to set someone straight or be a shoulder to lean on.

They own 3 birds & 1 bearded dragon.

Jp & Maney:

During the first year of high school they actually took a break from each other. Jp had dated Omar shortly while Maney dating someone else. During the end of Junior year they reconnected with each other.

Jp (29) works as a mechanic with the Junklord. Maney (29) works at a horse sanctuary & therapy organization called “Hugs for Horses”.

Despite Laura’s words of caution, Jp & Maney end up having a baby together sooner than expected.

When Marcello was born, he had water in his lungs. He had to stay in an incubator for 3 days. When MJ learned about this, he was 100% convinced he was part fish.

Out of all the Stump kids, Jp has kept the most in touch with kids from the creek. If there was as ever a kid from the creek someone wanted to contact, Jp was the guy to go to!

Despite being older & wiser now, Jp still ends up with a broken bone or two every once in a while. Maney wishes he’d be more careful whereas MJ thinks he’s invincible.

Maney still keeps close contact with Kelsey. You’ll often catch her on the phone with Kels planning their hikes together.

As parents they’re both very laid back. MJ doesn’t cause them much of a hassle so they don’t feel the need to be stern with him.

The Mercers don’t own any pets but do take care of the stray cats & dogs that live in their neighborhood (they feed them, make sure they’re not hurt, and are spayed/neutered.

MJ, Nancy, & Sonya

MJ (8) & Nancy (8) don’t have a designated hang out spot. They text each other on where to meet before they go and explore.

Their adventures focus less on exploring the creek and more on how much they can do that day.

MJ has a bucket list of all the things he’d want to do at the creek. When the list starts to run short, he either makes up more or ask other creek kids what to do.

Nancy has a very macabre sense of humor & vibe. She’s fascinated with the concept of life & death (especially with death).

Nancy lives with her grandmother & her older brother.

When Nancy grows up she’d like to be a mortician. When MJ grows up he’d like to be able to touch the top of the fridge.

Nancy always carries her Lil Oopsie Doll named Syd with her where ever she goes. No one is allowed to hold, let alone touch, Syd. MJ is the only acceptation.

If the weathers ever terrible at the creek, these two always run to The Williams house and make themselves at home. (MJ knocks, Nancy gets in through the back.)

Craig & Omar are used to MJ’s visits, they’re not used to Nancy’s. She has the tendency to sneak up behind them and every time it scares the living daylight out of them.

Sonya absolutely adores Nancy and is always happy when the two older kids visit her home.

Sonya’s not ready for the creek yet but has tried to sneak off into it. The farthest she’s explored to was her backyard before getting scared and running back inside. That’s all I have to share for now!! My apologies for any typos & grammatical errors 😵
