🇯🇲Aspiring Jamaican Chutney Singer, Yalu Dukharan @jamyalu does a cover of #jamaica Pardesi Chale made popular by Beverly Pancham-Rampersad. The song details the troubles that the Indian Indentured labourers faced both on their journey from India to Jamaica and the period they remained on the sugar cane plantations. Indentureship was seen by the Indians immigrants as oppressive as the wages were meagre and the work was laborious. However their descendants such a Yalu have strived. ♥️ @lexonart #repost Repost from @lexonart using @RepostRegramApp - Shades of Love (BTS) The idea for this series came to me through a butterfly in a convenient store. I was shopping for dried moss when I stumbled on a box filled with decorative butterflies. One of them flew out (imaginatively) and landed on my left shoulder. It triggered a series of images in my head to which I went, "Woah!" A store rep heard my gasp and asked if I was okay. I smiled, nodded and then proceeded to fist the air in excitement, light jabs, like they do in the movies. I was surprised because it had been a while since my mind was able to actively create so vividly due to the sudden passing of my brother. I knew I was blocked creatively up to that point, but I wasn't particularly worried either. In that moment I was just excited to have my vision back. This entire series is based on the duality of such. The subtext is about falling in love with the process of inspiration, the woman being the reference, hence the butterfly symbolism. But primarily, it is about two people going through various shades of Love. I must also give special credit to my team on this day @rheikann (Cinematographer), @thetamoennis (Stylist) and @brettalife (location scout). But truly, I have to take my hat off to the two incredibly talented souls who depicted this photo story so well. The chemistry was effortlessly portrayed. Knock gently, and it will present itself to you-inspiration. It is a dialogue with energy, consciousness, God. It is the falling of a single rain drop into the vast ocean, it is everything, and yet, nothing. Separate, but not separate. Inspiration is always with you, but if you are finding it difficult, it is you who is not with it. Turn your face to the sun and shadows will fall behind you.
