I'm always fascinated by mentor-new-claw matches and relationships, so I was wondering who taught Clayfur and Thrustspots

They would've been mentored by Jaggedstripe (Thrushspots) and Ambereyes (Clayfur)!

Clayfur was thrilled and Thrushspots put up with it.

hailpaw :((( i never drew it (bc she wasn't scarred or killed by it) but at the start of her apprenticeship she broke a bone, and was in the medicine den for MONTHS. and now she's healed, but she's the only one of her siblings that hasn't become a warrior yet, even though she's 15 moons old now. hopefully she will get there soon.

ON A HAPPIER NOTE. look how fucking cool jaggedstripe looks. and her kits are so cute,,, im so glad we've got some new young blood in the clan :D

I’m confused as to where JaggedStripe came in from, I seen an ask about it but I looked back and didn’t see anything with him in it.

I don't blame you, he's only appeared once in the actual moon updates during Moon 3. We didn't see him join because he was one of the original founding members of the clan, just a young cat who took shelter alongside the older Loudclan cats. He was good friends with Bluepaw and is now friends with Peakpatch!

Her name was Polly! She wasn't sure about joining up with Loudclan when it first formed, but now she lives in Shadedclan and has changed her name to Dustfeather. Jaggedtail's siblings were named Crag, Slope, and Pebble.

Starska: Cloudstrike, the claw of Myla - slender, pinkish tabby molly, with black splotches across her back. She has a pale underbelly, large ears, and green eyes. Her Blessing of the Stars is a mark on her forehead. (4 years, 11 months)

so many cats oh god oh jesus help. um little bit of info of each character under read-more sjdfhds

everybody, except for hiddenstep + skystar, are a part of a clan called bigclan, which is technically comprised of two separate clans: hawkclan and doveclan. however, they share the same territory and are practically clanmates, so hence the singular name thing. they do have their respective cultures and their own separate camps though

jaggedstar (she/her) - leader of doveclan. she had leadership suddenly thrust upon her as a very young warrior, so she’s kind of super stressed all the time. her deputy, prickleface, helps her as best as he can, as well as her adoptive daughter, batshade

birdfeather (she/her) - she’s hawkstar’s grandkid and is just generally kind of a chill dude. she’s also one of my oldest ocs <3 yknow hence the uncreative name. ive been considering calling her sparrowfall but im too attached so she probably just goes by both

starlinghop (he/him) - curious energetic little guy. he really looks up to birdfeather as a warrior. otherwise i don’t rlly have much info for him sdjfhsdjfs

hiddenstep (she/her) - a former windclan member. her mother, skystar, had lost many cats she cared for, so she cursed starclan to never take away her one living kit. it does end up being an actual curse though, and hiddenstep became psuedo-immortal - essentially, while she can technically still die, starclan can’t find her to guide her spirit to the afterlife, so she just goes back into her body, all wounds healed. she’s chronologically several decades old.

skystar (she/her) - former windclan leader, but she dead now. she’s reunited with her family and friends, but still searches desperately, guiltily, for her daughter

batshade (she/her) - she used to be a loner, and lived in the cavern where bigclan goes to share tongues with starclan. she’d lost her parents at a very young age, and was taken care of by the bats that lived in the cavern. after a few moons, jaggedstar found her on her journey to receive her nine lives and took her in, naming her batpaw. she has a crush on birdfeather :>

hawkstar (he/him) - founder of hawkclan, a member of starclan, and dovestar’s mate. he’s all big and burly and isn’t too good around kits, but he tries his best.

dovestar (he/him) - founder of doveclan and jaggedstar’s predecessor. he’s much sweeter and less fight-y than hawkstar, but can and will still kick butt. he joined starclan a few moons after hawkstar died, very soon after appointing jaggedstar - then jaggedstripe - as deputy.

He was the last born of his litter with a dead eye. But despite that, his blind side never hindered him in anyway. His sisters played with him just as rough as with each other and his mother and father treated him the same. Some of clanmates feared he wouldn’t make a great warrior due to his dead eye, but the medicine cat Hailfrost would always tell them off. Briarkit always leaned towards the medicine cat den, fascinated by herbs and StarClan, and by Hailfrost’s blunt manner. It was no surprise when he was appointed Hailfrost’s apprentice. He was a natural, earning his full medicine cat name faster than most.

His sister, Fernpaw, had drowned in the river while trying to catch fish, leaving him and his family devastated. He requested to be named after her, gaining the name Briarfern. Some time later, his mentor also died, not too long after the current leader, Waterstar. Hailfrost had been killed by rogues, although she had taken two down with her. Many moons later Briarfern got his apprentice, Bouncepaw. Halfway through his training, Briarfern unfortunately gets caught in a fox trap. He managed to get the fox trap out of the ground and run back to camp. Bouncepaw didn’t know what to do, and Briarfern ended up choking on his own blood. He watched mournfully but happily from StarClan as Brackenwillow of WindClan took over Bouncepaw’s training.

Fun Fact: Briarfern was best friends with Snakeberry of SkyClan.

Made our way around the lake to Field Colony! I've included reference sheets that were made for Chapter Two as well.

Lots of things have changed since I drew these. The Chapter Two refs in particular are probably some of the last art I did before we made the lore switch. Take, for example, Spottedshadow's kitten name. It used to be her name was Raven, then Hazelstar changed her name to Spottedshadow. But now, she starts off with the name Shadow. Because our cats can end up with a pre-fix or a suffix added to their name, Captain Hazelfur gives Shadow the pre-fix name 'Spotted'

for how to start, I def recommend creating a character you want to rp - you want one that you can connect to, and can rp often. I’ve created characters on a whim multiple times before, which… wasn’t great bc I ended up abandoning them basically which was just a mess dfjhfdh

start with a design, name, and a base personality, but give yourself room for them to grow!! if you have any ideas in mind with them, definitely talk to a mod if you’re in a group rp, like the ones I listed. you can talk to others to set up relationships, or just rp and build them from there! you can be vague with family and bg, or go all out! tho it def depends on what the rp has going on, bc you may want to add bg events to their bio o: also there’s normally a bio format posted with each rp, so you don’t need to worry about setting one up!

also, bc apps are through google docs, I highly recommend saving any oc info you make bc I keep forgetting to do that and I immediately forget what I wrote dsfhjfdsh

with rping in general, it’s gonna depend on the rp! usually the ones I’m in are more literate, which asks for at least a paragraph reply, but it’s not always the case! also, you don’t have to be a writer to rp! it may be awkward at first, but it definitely gets easier as you rp more and more - I’ll give an example at the end!

outside of discord, I have no idea ahah - I know there are a lot of forum rps out there, and it’s been a few years since I’ve used the forums on fanfiction net so idk if those are even still active ahah

tumblr rp has changed a lot - before, all you had to do was set up a blog (side or main - I prefer main bc it’s easier to follow other rp blogs and get recognized), and either rp as a canon character or an oc! ofc they don’t need to be a fandom oc, they can just be an og one!

but for tumblr rp, you def gotta think of a solid character bg if an oc (fandom or not) bc it’s easier for everyone when other muns can look and see who your character is. I def recommend setting up a rule page, so that way you can explain what stuff you want to avoid (for me was nsfw stuff mostly), or stuff you’re fine with (a lot of people would mention age ranges they were comfortable with when it came to other muns - like there were a few rp blogs that would only interact with people 18+ or 21+, which was a good thing tbh)

it’s def been a hot minute since I’ve rped on here, but when you make an oc to rp, this is where it gets hella important to make sure you can connect with them - I ended up ditching a lot of blogs bc I lost muse, and it’s a bummer tbh, but it does happen. also idk if rping is still active here or not? bc last I check the marvel rp tag it was just. ads for group rps and idk if they’re tumblr based anymore

anyway, tumblr rping is def gonna be harder! just bc it’s hard to get off the ground at the beginning, and it’s just… idk, weird? some people won’t respond to you and things get lost and it can become a mess, but at the same time, it can be a lot of fun! it just really depends on how you handle stuff and how active you are really

The pale queen had arrived shortly after Aspenstar and Jaggedstripe settled Badgerwing’s body down in the flowers. She would’ve been with them, matching their steps stride by stride, but she had to check on her kits before she left. She had seen how frightened they were with the thunder alone, and she couldn’t imagine the confusion the little ones must’ve felt when their Clanmates began to panic at the death before Aspenstar soothed them. They were far too young to understand death, and she could only pray that it wouldn’t affect them. And despite how collected she had seemed back in camp, it was clear the deputy’s death had was not taken lightly - her steps were slow, her eyes misted with grief.

 A shaky breath escaped her jaws as Mistfang slowed to a stop beside her gathered Clanmates, the air thick with grief and tension. Finchpaw spoke, then Grasspelt. Jaggedstripe stepped toward Badgerwing next, but it was clear she was in too much pain to speak. But… as she gazed around at the others, her throat tightened with grief. Was no one else going to speak? Bluestone remained silent. Hootnose was silent as well, his gaze averted, and it was clear he wished to be anywhere but there. She just hoped their silence wasn’t from hostility - from them still holding a grudge for her leaving them for so long.

With a shake of her head, the molly slowly stepped forward, leaning down to rasp her tongue over Badgerwing’s head. “You were larger than life,” she said at last, her voice soft as ever. “You helped us each in your own way, and I feel my words can never be enough to explain my gratitude. You saved my life, and helped me with my kits. I can’t thank you enough for everything you have done. I hope you find comfort in StarClan, and I wish you all the best.”

It was shorter than she would’ve liked, but Mistfang hadn’t been close to Badgerwing - not as much as she would’ve liked. But regrets were useless, and she knew the dangers of getting lost in the what-ifs. As long as the deputy was safe in StarClan, free of any pain and of any troubles, then she knew it would be okay. It had to be. 

Slowly, Mistfang took a few steps back, head bowed as she sat down.
