I love @abyss-wolf‘s Jade and my character Lynn as a ship because its basically the librarian and the guy from the Mummy, but gay, and also, Lynn is basically Robin Hood. Just.

@darth-quax Been thinking of drawing Jade for a while, just haven't have the inspiration until then. Not sure if I have capture Jade's personality/vibe, perhaps it is when she's feeling mischievous?

okay long-winded explanation under the cut

Gang!AU has a lot of uh --- twists and turns??? like the simple premise is misto/quaxo being macavity’s son, and he was pretty much raised in a boarding school while macavity was being.. macavity. but he had a close eye on him. eventually his goal was to pull quaxo into the gang life, even tho all baby boy wanted to do was dance and follow his dreams - macavity couldn’t have that.

when quax is out and living in an apartment and trying to get buy (observed by papa), enter bailey, aka tugs. he’s an angry fella, slipped to and fro from gangs, officer monty deuteronomy’s brother and old deuteronomy’s son. he’s tired of life and being told how to live, so he’s left home and macavity is like oho!!! interesting. invites tugs into the gang

tugs rises quickly through the ranks, becomes one of macavity’s top enforcers until a turf war breaks out, and macavity assigns tugs to be quaxo’s personal bodyguard until it’s over, bc quaxo’s apartment is in the middle of said turf. 

long story short they end up falling in love, yadda yadda, quaxo comes into the gang and starts doing things for macavity bc macavity threatens to kill tugs on the regular.. and then eventually the tension builds up where macavity and quax fight and macavity ends up dead

quaxo loses his sense of self at this point, he’s so jaded and just forces back his emotions and is a bit of a husk. he decides to take over the crime empire, and tugs stays with him bc he’s loyal as FUCK. he tentatively rebuilds his connections with monty, and quaxo does the same with monty’s wife deme - who was like his adoptive mom growing up? it’s complicated - but tugs is really worried about him and the way he’s acting, and it eventually comes to a head. 

quaxo feels bad, and they end up vacationing and tugs realises being away from the crime stuff makes quaxo FEEL things again so he.. eventually convinces quaxo to retire early. they leave it behind and it takes time but they live in a little town and quaxo has a garden and tugs teaches kids how to play music and fund raises a dance studio to be built and quaxo starts dancing and its all GOOD

until its not. lots of stuff happens after that but the MAIN crux is tugs is kidnapped by an old rival gang who find them. they torture him so badly for like over a week until he’s finally found and he is uhhh full of trauma. he’s disassociating really bad and catatonic a lot of the time and just.. very broken. 

his recovery was a...... slow process. 

but at this point, quaxo was so lost and full of despair, he couldn’t WAIT for tugs to get better. he couldn’t see what monty and deme saw, that there were bits and pieces of tugs coming back. all he saw was helplessness.. that they could never get out of this life even if they wanted to 

so, while tugs was in his own head, quaxo sat with him, and then he ended it for tugs, and followed it by killing himself. like it’s just.. awful trauma, you know? he just felt helpless, like he really had no other choice to do it, and he was so defeated by everything that happened in his life.. he just wanted it to be over for the both of them. 

you need to understand quaxo in this au has been going through trauma since he was a literal BABY. life has beaten him down over and over again. he and tugs are very co-dependant on each other. they were working it out and being more healthy when they retired, but... old habits die hard. if he didn’t have tugs he felt like he had nothing. 

it was a fucking AWFUL ending to the au and we ended up using it as a CURSED ending and we talk about it sometimes but it’s not canon to the au. now.  --- they end up staying with deme and monty and when quaxo is overwhelmed and broken down they can help and take over for a bit and slowly tugs gets to heal and quaxo can too. 

the problem with this au is that tugs and bailey both needed HELP but it was so hard to find bc of their situation so they were just.. a terrible situation. but yeah, we ended it as a side ending

so no-one dies

but sometimes we think about mice and men

I’ve run it twice, with Aria first and I did it with Jade last night, she’s with Lana and I noticed in both runs that 1. Lana sounds nothing like Lana. All her lines are… off? They felt off to me, like this is not the Lana we got in any xpac or Iokath. 2. The Commander sounds unusually upset? I’ve only played SI and JK and while Angery JK fits Jade, it’s not how a Neutral/LS JK lines are read. And fuck it, LS SI sounds angery too? Like what are they hinting here?

Okay, so it’s not just me? There’s something a little off about this whole thing? I would almost wonder if we were in on the act, other than the fact that we’re clearly not, because we keep having side conversations with Lana where no one would conceivably listen in. I mean, it’s either just a really weird director’s choice, or something else is going on (and is possibly the reason we are not let in on this fun act?)  I mean, my Knight has gotten awful attached to that fleet? And gives ships to spurned lovers like candy? Which is kind of out-of-character for a character who stated throughout the entire run of KotFE/KOTET she did not want that throne.

And yeah, Lana is like... really not herself. I’m guessing this is her form of acting? In which case, maybe she needs lessons from Theron’s School of Overacting. It’s like both ends of the spectrum, lol, our Spymasters, ladies and gentlemen.

Back in 2017 I had the horrible idea of doing Inktober (It will never happen again. It was a mistake.) I did an ink only version of this one. 

Once again, a redraw of a piece I love (or at least loved the concept I had for it!) because the execution of it is better now.

Ooof. Well, she’s not exactly the sort of person that comes off as friendly. She is polite around strangers, though her quiet and reserved demeanor can make her come off as distant and off putting. She’s got some trouble properly conveying her emotions so it’s easy for strangers to misinterpret that.

But it’s okay, she’s nothing but an awkward noodle under the tough person image she usually keeps on.
