I’m still amazed that Jacob Rees-Mogg is a real guy, and not an over-the-top parody of a wealthy British conservative in a political cartoon. He’s kind of like Ted Cruz in that he really seems like a character from heavy-handed political satire.

More weird UK political stuff

Jacob Rees-Mogg (who is not some sort of landed gentry or political scion, he’s a weird and damaged person who has just been cos-playing an old Tory politician for over thirty years) has admitted on camera that the Tories (our right wing party, aka the Conservatives) tried to prevent non-Tory voters from voting with their Photo ID scheme

Admitted it, not even pretending it was anything but what loads of us suspected

But because it backfired on them (apparently it was old people who failed to vote, got turned away from the polling stations, old people who usually vote Tory) he seems to think it’s all a bit of a joke now…
