Jackalope - He's changed a lot. He used to be a heavy censor, but now he's in a Raz shape? And he can say one syllable things. He even has nicknames he calls us. He calls me "Lope." He calls Camper either "Ghost" or "Camp." He calls Agent: "Gent." And Zombie has the nickname of "Bie."

Zombie: And... he makes sure none of us get close to NK. Especially me n Agent.

RRR Original Boss Ideas

The designs of the RRR characters were always consistent, but not the names of the bosses, or even the notes! Here's the original ideas of the names and notes:

"The Aquato Family" (This is how you look in his mind) - Harking back to the idea of "is that how I look in your mind" that I was thinking the idea of how the memories of the Aquatos linking back into Raz's ideas of them. How they always act in a certain way so Raz thought it was "okay" or the "family was pretty great." However, as time went on as I wrote the story, I found I really didn't like the abusive Aquato angle. I still have Zombie terrified of his family, and the family is violent, but the actual Aquatos really do care for Raz, and Zombie by extension.

"Raz-Ent-Ment" (Trapped in a fantasy) - I was originally going to make "Raz-Ent-Ment" truly resentful to the fact that Whispering Rock's adventure forced him into an adult role. With Camper just trying to be the child that Raz still is. The fight was going to happen way after the Nightmare room as well. With the other kids realizing why Camper felt off and Sasha and Milla realizing why the fact that Camper acting so immaturely and people pleasing was bothering them so much.

"Bag-fish" (Heavier than Regrets) - I was thinking "Bag-Fish" was a pretty obvious name that had the puns that Raz often loves to make. I don't know how many people were confused that the "Weeping Whale" was made of Emotional baggage. I always knew that the Emotional baggage was going to fall into the water and become this thing, but Agent's boss fight came in later.

"Defense Trio" (Raz's Defenses on the Offense) - I wanted to make it obvious that Jackalope was Raz's defenses. I channeled a lot of PN1's Raz interacting with bullies into Jackalope. Imp and Fae were also representations of how Raz may think about his actions with his closest friends near him. Not exactly an Angel and Devil now that I think about it... huh!

It's a mental figure… it represents Raz's bottled hatred. He is kinda… well he's kinda of an ass. He practically demonizes the psychonauts and his family, and even his girlfriend. And he shows no remorse.

Sounds a lot like Jackalope.

I don't think Raz hates the people who are in his mind... I think at the most his hatred would be targeted towards the actions that wronged him... maybe Gristol... Or even himself.

If he even exists, I think he'd be a tiny thing... probably in some of Agent's emotional baggage. Heh... now I'm imagining Agent just carrying around this grumpy little Raz in a bird cage while also being so done with him. Agent, as what Raz hopes for his future (a Psychonaut who does things on his own and can get help from those he wants), would feel that this anger/hatred is only temporary, and try to make sure that it eventually settles and only focuses on the real things Raz should be mad at.

I also like how you didn't mention Dogen... or Loboto... Like the bottle hatred just looks at Dogen and gives him like a pat on the head before moving on to the others.

But again: I don't think Raz has this.

As for the other plans for RRR well.... just you wait and see what's going to happen. (SPOILERS I'M SERIOUS THIS IS MAJOR SPOILERS FOR RRR AND A LOT OF THINGS WE, THE PSYCHE OF NUT DISCORD, HAVE WORKED ON. IF YOU SEE THIS AND ASK QUESTIONS, DON'T EXPECT THEM TO BE ANSWERED UNTIL AFTER WHAT I TALK ABOUT HAS OCCURRED)

You may think I'm using this idea once the... Final Boss has appeared. Or heck, even in Chapter 12 with one of the Mini-Boss fights, but we've had plans for the Final Boss since before it was being written.

And if you've read this... Hush now, no spoilers will be answered in asks. No need to rush now. Those asks will just end up in the middle of nowhere.

Yes, you can see them on my blog. As for others...

The only way to answer one was to give away a massive spoiler, so I've saved it in my drafts folder. I'll post it on the Eve of Chapter 13, most likely.

There was also a submission, but I'm seeing a lot of interpretations of RRR as a bash fic. Which I kind of want to address: "Raz's Regretful Realm" shows off both the worst and the best of many of the characters in Psychonauts.

Some examples being: Raz himself, Junior Agents past actions, Lili, The Aquato Family, the Psychic Seven (particularly I want to point out Otto's deliberate word choice to manipulate Agent), the list can really go on.

I don't want RRR to be seen as a bash fic. If anything, I want it to be read as a multi-character action analysis. Using different characters actions to see how they would affect the different important characters of the Psychonauts storyline. This is why all of the important characters at the Motherlobe went into Raz's mind.

This ALSO shows off different positive and negative aspects of Razputin. Agent is a good worker who wants to make people proud but is obsessed with perfection. He even abandons his team when his clothing gets messed up. Camper is a positive force to keep Raz optimistic but is willing to repress all the bad memories in order to keep looking on the bright side. Jackalope is [REDACTED] so he's protective of Razputin and uses a lot of PN 1 inspired defenses against others who question him. Zombie is the compartmentalization of Raz's trauma, trying to protect Raz from it by hiding only to feel worse and worse as time goes on.

So, before you go saying: "Raz is a little woobie who's done nothing wrong and only been punished" or "Fuck Ford Cruller" or "Hollis deserves to be fired" or "The Aquatos are clearly a great family" or "Raz should abandon his dream" or something along those lines that shifts the blame onto one character...

Maybe you should re-read the story.

I finished chapter 9 of RRR and I am confused. I understand that Agent represents the psychonaut that Raz thinks that he needs to be, with the zip ties being a metaphor for his expectations or his responsibilities. I also understand that Zombie represents all of Raz’s traumas, fearless, anxieties, etc. Or at least he’s the Raz that’s scared of everything everything, but what do the other Raz’s represent? I guess Camper something is about his unhealthy coping mechanisms. But what do Jackal and Warden represent? I am especially confused on Warden, why does a heavy sensor look like Raz?

Not all of the Raz-es have been truly fully explored. Even though Agent does represent the Psychonaut Raz wants to be, he represents much more to Razputin. Same with Zombie, but due to the family, he's primarily showing off the trauma.

Camper should show off a lot more of his true self in chapters 11-13, while Jackalope should be more representing in chapters 12-13.

Warden, on the other hand, is something that has bonded with Raz's other aspects, making a large impression on Raz's psyche. He started off as a pure Heavy Censor that just... stuck around Camper and he gave Warden the name.

Idea for Familyswap AU, 'Lili's Lamentable Land' it takes place after the events of the Familyswap AU. And for the Lori and Opposum thing, I forgot that Harold was a rat.

If that's Lili's version of "Raz's Regretful Realm" ...

I do have constructs made for that. (SPOILERS FOR RRR AND FAMILY SWAP.)

China Doll (similar to Raz's Zombie) - Showing off Lili's past physical altercations with schools and groups she tried to hide (and mostly successfully hid) from her father. China Doll would be very polite, trying to avoid confrontation, and plays more as Lili knowing she should be nicer and following the rules. Based off of (what else) a China Doll.

Baby Doll (similar to Raz's Camper) - Showing off Lili's love language, mainly, as her body is covered in marker of different names she has been called that have stuck with her. Some are positive, like "snap pea" and "Dragon Sunny" (actually the word драгоценный), but others like "Freak," "Mole," "Traitor," and "Burden," decorate her as well. She's a lot of Lili's repressed feelings that she especially hides around her other selves. Based off of a toy baby made of a soft fabric and smooth plastic for the head, legs, and arms.

Monster Doll (similar to Raz's Jackalope) - Acts very similar to Jackalope, but instead of vague threats, she's a lot more blunt. Also has more of the Camper constructs that she bonded with, each being different monsters. Based off of the Monster High Dolls that could mix and match their body parts.

Plastic Doll (similar to Raz's Agent) - She is hyper determined to please people, constantly asking for new missions from others and rushing to deliver them. She likes making people happy, though her other selves seem to fear her. Based off of a Barbie Doll

And Broken Doll - Her design has her blinded by flowers as well as a... a flower that grows where her gunshot wound will be. Broken Doll represents all of Lili's repressed dreams. She didn't want to be a Psychonaut always, and sometimes she even questions if she still wants to be one. But she's so powerful. They need her. And she's got a good life that people would love to have. She just has to keep at what she's doing. Even if she'd rather be a florist. Based off of rotting toys/dolls.

Just read the submission drabble. Damn… that is honestly bad for Hollis. I was wondering. Maybe you can credit the anon for that idea and add it to the next chapter of RRR?

Well, no. They've already seen the scene that dealt with the entirety of the Casino mission, and more attention was brought onto SASHA and what he did.

+ Jackalope is out of his meadow by force Something is brewing in the Circus and scaring Zombie The Emotional Baggage has overwhelmed Agent & Camper is... emotionally compromised.

The rest of the chapters are already planned. So there wouldn't be a need for the anon's words. And... I can't really credit an anonymous person for their words. Can't just say - "Some anon gave me this ficlet on my Tumblr which some of you guys may not know that I have, and one other person that I don't know if they were the writer wanted me to include it."

It would be different if they were a part of the Discord server that is actually writing RRR, and I do credit those people when they assist me with inspiration or writing. Like "Meat Circus Clown" or "Clairvoyance."

RRR Ficlet: Words Can and Will Hurt Others

Slience, silence is what she heard. Hollis took a look at the junior psychonauts, at Agent Morceau Oleander, at the VHS tape… they played it… and heard her saying the worst thing of all…

“My only problem was you!”

Those words can hurt. She was responsible. She put the VHS tape back. She closed her eyes. And she spoke.

“In… In hindsight I regretted my reaction.” Hollis spoke. She opened the, and saw faces of disgust, confusion, and anger.

”Hollis?” Oleander asked coldly. “I want to speak with you. Alone. Right now.” He ordered.

“But Agent—” Hollis tried to respond.

“Now.” Oleander ordered.

Hollis sighed and followed the manand turned to the junior psychonauts who witnessed on what had happened.

“Hollis Forsythe. What the hell did you do!” Oleander shouted in rage. “Didn't you witnessed what Razputin was doing? He was hazed… and you blame him!?” he shouted.

“Look, I didn't realize what was going on… but I told him we make mistakes.” Hollis spoke. “And I overreacted.” she explained.

“Overreacted? You overreacted? And you did that to a kid!” Oleander asked in anger. “You know you did the same to your ex-boss. But did you think that… he might do the same to you as what you did to Razputin?” Oleander asked.

“I… I never thought of that.” Hollis tried to speak. “Look I barely knew the kid. Can you blame me?” Hollis asked. Oleander thought of it. And his answer was grave.

“Yes. I can and I will blame you.” he spoke.

“Wh…What?” Hollis stuttered.

“Look Hollis, I know I may be hard on you, but you need to listen.” Oleander spoke. “There are times where we need to think on how other's feel… if you gave him a chance to explain on what was going on. He wouldn't be in this mess. But no, you had to yell at him. I'm sorry for being blunt, but… you are a bad mentor.” Oleander explained.

Those words echoed in her head… a bad mentor, those words impaled her as if she getting stabbed repeatedly. But it couldn't get worser then what she had heard.

“I agree with Agent Oleander.” Norma spoke. “I never thought that he was so… so sensitive. But, the way you acted? I'm starting to think that he just wanted to fit in.” Adam explained.

“Yeah, Pooter was just a kid. How would Agent Vodello and Agent Nein react to your situation?” Lizzie asked.

“I…” Hollis tried to speak.

“Raz just fixed you, and that's how you repay him?” Gisu asked.

“You are just awful.” Sam spoke.

Hollis could see herself getting fired.

“You are clearly in need of help.” Morris spoke.

“I honestly feel bad. For him…” Norma responded.

And that was just it. Hollis went down to her knees and felt her stomach hurt.

“We need to find out more.” Lizzie spoke.

The Junior Psychonauts and Oleander went to find more of the VHS tapes, Hollis got up and when she came over…

“You are not helping.” Oleander deadly spoke.

She gasped quietly and the response.

“If you wanna help. Then just join someone else. We are done with you.” Oleander spoke. Hollis stepped back. And soon heard a voice.

“Aww… what's the matter? Got told off by someone smaller than your size? Then you deserve it.” Jackalope spoke. Hollis turned around and saw nothing. No one, all because of one thing she did.

She yelled at a child.

My (Sixer's) response as the writer of RRR: I'm glad you like RRR so much that you wanted to write for it! This story seemed to be full of potential, almost like an AU where Oleander could have spoken to Hollis instead of him speaking to Norma.

Though, I don't understand why... the Junior Agents were there? Like they should KNOW that Oleander is on probation, and they jump at the chance of bashing the Second Head of the Psychonauts? Oleander was supposed to be speaking to her alone and... that didn't happen!

The ideas there are definitely fascinating, I just think the Junior Agents added a bit too much. Had they wanted to jump in to shift the blame onto her and feel less guilty, and that explained through the voice of the narrator, I think it would have felt less... bashing?

Though I do love Jackalope's inclusion. He definitely would jump to defend Razputin. I can't wait to see everyone's reactions to Chapter 12, as the constructs will have most of their mysteries away from them.
