Chishiya is by far one of the best characters when it comes to intellect and cunning. When I figured out he was the representation of the Cheshire Cat, I knew I’d have to do art of him and the cat. He’s so pookie.

Jack Hart - Jack of Hearts

Normally in a "draw a bunch of superheroes" design series, a character like Jack would MAYBE be hundreds of drawings along the line. But because he's my favorite special princess he gets to be here right away, I have absolutely no order I'm going in except for the passions of my heart.

I wanted Jack to be an animal capable of flight, but not one that's particularly large or powerful. Despite his technical strength he doesn't narratively come across as much of a threat. I was playing around with some songbirds, but I decided he gave more mammal vibes to me

Squirrels are always kind of goofy, annoying animals, which is how he's often characterized especially in the Y2K era, and flying squirrels specifically are just absurdly adorable and stupid-looking creatures

Plus the patagium (wing membranes) were a really fun design feature to include
