Jackie, now 19, falls in love with 01 and eventually gets pregnant with him, they decide it's time to get married, Evelyn is against they're marriage while Adam is thrilled, the foundation is created. 1924, TJ Bright is born. 1930, TJ Bright is contained no matter his older siblings protests. Jackie and 01 get divorced after they're child dies at the age of two. Jackie, now with no regard to her life, tales part in testing 113 (that stone that turns you the opposite gender, I hope I got it right) and 963, ending up in immortality. 1939, WW2 starts, Jack Bright, now as a White male, becomes a solider and meets the love of his life, Simon Glass there. Sarah Bright is born, we all know the story. (And if u don't go read 321 or 123 idk the number.) 1945, wars over, Jack and Simon are still together, Simon starts working as a field agent, it doesn't take much time for the foundation to realize he's too weak for that spot and hey, a new department called 'psychology' needs to be taken care of, and who else but a soft guy who can get to anyone? 1946, Claire the 2nd is born as well as David Blindman and Serra Argent. 1950, Serra is being started to train, Yorick Elroy is born to an unknown woman. David Blindman is blinded by his father, after he found out he will have to contain his son, Mikkel is an 05 at the time. 1961, Claire the 3rd is born (under the name Clark). Claire the 1st takes David Blindman in. During a containment breach Simon Glass bumps into 049 and, wait, shouldn't he be dead? They were both surprised as you are right now, if you are surprised ofc. Both Simon and 049 experiment on it, is Simon immortal? 1970 Simon Glass's theory is confirmed when during a raid by the Chaos Insurgency Simon Glass is shot, and isn't dead or wounded, of course he noticed he wasn't aging visibly but is it possible 049's touch made him immortal? 1979, David comes out to his aunt, Simon and Jack come out to the rest of family. 1983, Alto Clef has been born and contained, in December of that year Jack Bright is told to terminate the baby, he instead takes him home to his husband, they raised the kid. (And the 05's, well, let's jus say Jack has some uncomfortable info they don't want leaked...). 2000, Claire the 3rd comes out. 2003, Jack Bright and Simon Glass get married.

Nothing much happens till that time except for 166's Birth and containment.

2018, Claire the 1st dies, her family Mourns her death. 2019, Draven Kondraki and James Talloran meet and start dating. Alto Clef and Benjamin Kondraki get married.

2021, 166 somehow learns to control her anomalous effect, still, only family is allowed near her, they're not to touch her, and there must be at least three female guards with them.

2022, Family Christmas, James Talloran and Draven Kondraki announce they're engagement, family celebration, they spent new year's eve together.

Jack had been waiting on the porch for roughly two hours now. During the first hour, his eyes had been firmly focused on the road, straining to see against the dark night if the next passing car was his father's, hoping that the next one would slow down and turn into their driveway. That enthusiasm slowly died down as time passed. Now, the middle Bright brother had been leaning against the railing for some time, looking down on the ground below him with his head resting on his hand, the light from his house only dimly illuminating the outside, he could barely spot the dark asphalt road just up ahead. Still, every time he heard the distant roar of the engine and the tires against the road, his head would perk up and he would look over, only to get disappointed once more as the car sped right past him.

He never got why Mikell liked dark, cold evenings so much. The crickets chirping were more irritating than anything, and you could only stare at the same starry sky so much before it became repetitive and boring, not to mention the annoying bugs trying to bite him. Jack much rather preferred staying inside, where it was warm and pleasant, with the yellow light illuminating everything perfectly, no scary dark corners or shadows to be found anywhere. He only ever liked staying on the porch if it were with his brothers.

The boy had long since lost sense of time and was about to head back home, when he heard yet another car, this time slowing down and pulling over into their dirt driveway. Jack's face lit up with the biggest grin and he practically jumped off the porch stairs as he saw his older brother come out of the car.

"Mikell!" He raced over, practically crashing into his brother and almost sending them both flying to the ground, thankfully for them both the older boy managed to catch himself on his crutches before he lost his balance.

Mikell wheezed as his brother made an impact with his chest and hugged him tightly, thankfully not too hard as to not hurt him...much. He visibly winced, but his expression softened as he looked down at the teen who had by now buried his face tightly against his older brother's chest.

"Ow, hey, asshole-" He patted Jack's shoulder. "Mind my ribs."

"Oh-" Jack pulled away slightly, his face flushing in embarrassment as he realised his mistake. "Sorry."

"Jennifer," Before Mikell could reply, their father's harsh tone had gotten both of their attention, Adam walking around the car towards them. "I thought I told you to be in bed before we came back."

"But, I- I wanted to see Mikell." Jack stammered out.

"And for fuck's sake, take that ridiculous hat off your head."

Before Adam could grab the cowboy hat, Mikell had already placed his hand on top of it, holding it firmly on his sibling's head as he met their father's gaze.

Adam scoffed and turned back to his car, locking it. "Whatever. Just take the brat to her bed."

"Sure thing, your majesty." The eldest mocked before quickly hopping away on his crutches before their father could make a scene, Jack very quickly following him, leaving their parents to talk near the car alone.

As they neared the stairs, the younger boy started to pull the hat off of his head, only to have it firmly put back into place by his brother.

"You can keep it." Mikell pulled his hand away, grinning. "It suits you."

"It's a bit big for me, don't you think?"

"You'll grow into it." He carefully started to hop up the stairs.

"Or you just have a huge bubblehead."

Mikell laughed out as he stopped at the very top of the stairs, watching his brother climb up after him. "If you think some broken bones are going to keep me from drop-kicking a child down the stairs, you're wrong."

"I think you'd just fall over because of that massive head of yours if you tried."

"Why you-!"

Before he could grab him, Jack had already dived for the door, getting away from his brother as fast as possible.

"I think you'd be surprised how fast I can go on these crutches if you keep testing me, pipsqueak."

"Not fast enough, old man!" Jack stuck his tongue out at him and quickly disappeared into their house.

"Old?!" Mikell huffed, limping after him, squinting a bit as the warm yellow light hit his eyes. "I'm only twenty-two." He turned briefly to close the door behind him. He leaned against the wall, balancing mostly on his crutches as he managed to kick his shoe off.. "If you keep calling me old, you're setting yourself up for one hell of a life crisis in a few years."

He stood back up and hopped ahead towards his brother, but before Jack could even come up with a comeback, they were quickly cut off by a loud pair of footsteps coming towards them from the living room.

"Mikey!"

Mikell yelped as he had almost lost balance once more as he felt his youngest sibling crash into him, thankfully on the side of his healthy leg, and grip tightly onto his waist. He could only briefly look down at the small girl who had buried her face in his stomach before he remembered something, quickly bringing one of his crutches up, stopping TJ in his tracks as the boy almost rammed into the tip of it. A sense of dread creeped onto the eldest's expression.

"Don't."

TJ's face fell, though he stepped away, he knew more than enough what would happen if he made accidental skin contact with the man. "Sorry…"

Mikell put his crutch down with a soft tap as it hit the wooden floor, looking at his brother for a moment. He missed TJ a lot and he was sure the boy missed him too. He laid one hand on Claire's back, still looking at TJ, before he let out a long sigh. "Alright…but be very careful."

The youngest of the brothers lit up instantly, practically jumping over in excitement. Careful as to not touch Mikell's skin, the youngest boy wrapped his arms around him and nuzzled his face against his chest, with a bright smile on his face.

Mikell tried to relax into the hug, leaning back on his crutches and lifting his chin up, trying to make sure that TJ would not touch him. He let out a loud exhale, letting the tension leave his body as he closed his eyes, smiling just slightly. It felt so good to be back home, with his family. He missed the warm light and chatter, he missed their hugs and talking to them, he missed singing Claire to sleep, telling TJ stories and bickering with Jack. He missed it all, even the little annoyances.

"I missed you all too." His tone was soft and soothing, he gently ruffled Claire's hair and even hesitantly rubbed TJ's back as the two pulled away eventually. He slowly readjusted himself, pulling his crutches closer to his body so he could properly stand on them again. He then looked at the teen leaning against the wall and grinned. "Except for you, Jack, you're a nuisance."

"Hey!"

Mikell chuckled and gestured for his youngest siblings with one of his crutches, waving it towards upstairs. "Now come on, it's late and you two should have been in bed a long time ago."

TJ looked at his sister, walking ahead of her with a slight bounce to his step. "Hey Claire, wanna race me to your bedroom?"

"Yeah, yeah!" She giggled happily and ran ahead as fast as her little legs could carry her, her brother quickly gaining on her but sliding on the wooden floor just near the stairs, grabbing the railing to not fall on his face.

"Try not to hurt yourself, alright?" Mikell called out after them, a slight worry in his tone, but it's not like they were going to listen to him anyway. He limped along past Jack and the living room, heading towards the stairs as well.

Jack watched as his two younger siblings climbed up the stairs like a pair of rabid animals then glanced at his older brother with that usual bastard grin of his. "You need help going up the stairs, grandpa?"

Without a word, Mikell brought his crutch to his brother's shin, making him yelp loudly. He fell to his knees, gripping where his brother has hit him.

"Fuck!" He hissed, looking up at his brother who just snickered at his misery.

"That's what you get, I warned you already." There was a hint of amusement in Mikell's tone as he circled around the teen and continued on his way.

"You think you're gonna win this fight, mister cracked-ribs?" The boy quickly jumped up to his feet and raced ahead of Mikell, spinning around to face his brother. He immediately paused when he saw his expression visibly fall, amusement being quickly replaced with worry.

"Jack, your eye…"

Ah. Fuck. He almost forgot. "Oh, it's-" He pulled the cowboy hat over his face in an attempt to hide the mark. "It's nothing. I just fell."

But Mikell wasn't that easily fooled. He reached over and gently stroked his brother's cheek with his thumb, making him wince in pain. "He hit you, didn't he?"

Jack frowned, lowering his head, though his eyes still focused on his older brother. "Please don't get angry at him."

"He hit you." Mikell hissed through gritted teeth, feeling his blood boil.

"You're hurt." Jack had already grabbed Mikell's arm, fearing he was already planning to storm out the front door and scream at their father. And he wasn't exactly wrong. "Please, don't do anything stupid, he'll hurt you."

“Brock, they’re both brown, they’ll match,” Jack sighed as he watched his husband ponder over two nearly identical bookshelves. This was why Jack did online shopping or no shopping at all. He hated crowds and people. He let out a soft grunt as some lady bumped into his shoulder without even a murmur of an apology. Did he mention how much he hated people?

Brock looked at Jack as if he were crazy, “they definitely ain’t the same. One is mahogany an’ this is sapele. Completely different.”

Jack rolled his eyes, thinking about how Brock spent way too much time watching HGTV. He felt someone tug on his hand, “Daddy ‘m bored.” Their adoptive son murmured, leaning heavily into Jack’s side with a large huff. “I wanna go home.” TJ looked around with his large pale blue eyes, his other hand clutching his favorite stuffed animal, a little wolf named Luna.

“Almost, Teej, Papa just has to pick out a shelf and we’ll be done. Promise,” Jack assured the boy. Looking back at Brock, Jack practically begged, “we got to get TJ home, Brock.” Hopefully the tone of his voice would signal to his husband just how imminent a meltdown was if they didn’t get TJ out of the furniture store soon.

Letting out a deep breath, Brock glanced over quickly and then nodded, seemingly getting the point. “Alright, alright,” he relented. He told the clerk which shelf he wanted, the sapele one, and soon they were ushered toward the check stand. Luckily the ringing out and loading the suprisingly heavy shelf into the back of their SUV went by quickly.

As Jack made sure TJ was buckled in, he could hear Brock murmur, “hope it matches . . . Don’ wanna mess up the whole livin’ room ‘cause I was rushed.”

Getting behind the wheel after double checking TJ’s safety, Jack said, “I think the shelf looks nice. I’m sure it’ll match.”

“Doesn’t have the hint of red the coffee table does,” Brock commented as Jack eased out of the parking spot and into traffic.

“Are we havin’ nuggets for dinner?” TJ asked, completely done with the topic of furniture. Jack couldn’t blame the kid. Jack could never understand Brock’s obsession with decorating.

“No, Teej, we’re having spaghetti. You like it, remember?” Jack assured his son, using the mirror to look at the boy before returning his sight back to the road.

“‘Ghetti,” TJ nodded, approving the the meal.

“Ya really think that shelf is gonna look fine?” Brock asked, frowning in worry. He looked into the back, seeing the shelf in its box.

“Knowing you? You wouldn’t pick anything that wouldn’t look perfect,” Jack reassured.

Snorting, Brock shook his head and looked at Jack, “you’re jus’ tryin’ to butter me up ‘cause ya rushed me and you don’t want me mad.” His lips pulled into a small smile.

“Well, is it working?” Jack laughed.

“You’re the worst. Why’d I marry ya in the first place?” Brock groaned, laughing as well.

“Because you love me,” Jack smiled.

Returning the smile, Brock said, “yeah, I guess I do.”

So I wrote this right after you asked, but I had to transcribe it from my notebook, then I added things, and I edited, so here it is now, six days later. I used three city OCs from Oregon.

I could go on about these three and their relationship for days, but without further ado...

“TJ, where’s Benny?” Peter’s distinct voice rang out through the house. Thomas glanced up as he came into view from around the corner. His long dark hair was pulled back in a bun as he slouched against the wall, waiting for an answer.

“Why?” Tom asked, turning from his chair to look at his boyfriend.

“Just haven’t seen them or heard anything in the last hour or so, and they aren’t anywhere I can find them.”

Tom raised an eyebrow, and then set down his papers. “That’s never a good sign.”

“Which prompted the question. Peter said, glancing around the dining room and kitchen, hoping he’d see them here. “At least Duckie ain’t in town, else that’s where they’d be.”

“Nightmare scenario. Like poking a sleeping bear.” Tom agreed, and then wandered back through the kitchen towards the rest of the house. “Alex? Alex, you in here?” Peter followed close behind, looking around.

Silence was the answer.

“Pete, I’ll go check outside, will you check the house again?”

“Sure thing, TJ.”

Thomas headed out the back door, and looked around for a familiar shock of red curls, or anything that might betray Alex’s presence in the backyard.

But the porch and the backyard seemed quiet at first glance.

Tom stepped off the porch, and walked around the perimeter of the yard. It was almost more like he was looking for a missing pet rather than than a missing datemate, he thought.

Then he noticed the door of the garden shed was ajar. He opened the door and flipped on the one light in the place.

It seemed still and quiet as he walked around the table, just to make sure. But Alex wasn’t hiding in here. A few boxes had been disturbed, so he opened them up and saw what had been rustled through.

Photos. Old, old photos. Dating back at least a decade, maybe two or three.

He wandered back to the house, noticing Alex’s rubber boots, covered in dinosaurs, had moved. He checked them for mud, but didn’t notice anything that thick on them. All there was was the dust from the garden shed.

So he went over to the front yard and checked. No sign of activity. Even Alex’s small station wagon sat there, unmoved from when they’d arrived.

But a glance inside revealed a missing box in the normal sorts of supplies Alex kept in there.

He entered the house, and Peter returned to his side pretty quick.

“I didn’t find them. I checked the rooms, the closets, even the basement and the space under the stairs. Did you see anything?” Peter’s voice wasn’t panicked at this point, just heavily bordering on concern.

“They messed with some of the boxes in the shed.” Tom responds, heading down the hall.

Peter managed a wry look at that “What, are you hiding dirty magazines out there?

“No, and shut up. Also why would I want to jack off in an unheated garden shed? You do remember we live in a place known for being cold and wet, right?”

“Just thought I’d ask.”

Peter looks around, and then snorts. “Unbelievably, I did check here. Twice. Three times now.”

“Did you check the attic?”

“Yes.”

“How closely?”

Peter frowns. “As much as a 6’1 man checks a tiny ass attic.”

“So you popped your head up, and that was it.” Tom replied, and then pulled the string. The foldable stairs descended, and Tom crawled up them.

The daylight was still enough light up here, and so despite the bare minimal light fixtures, the whole place was cast in a golden glow from the windows.

Several boxes were loosely arranged in the far corner, and Tom stood, or at least as much as he could (after all, he was 5’10, not that much shorter than Peter). Slouching, he headed towards the boxes.

And he pretty quickly spotted them. Humming away, headphones in, legs kicked up as they wrote away on a notecard.

“Hi Benny.” Tom said, and rather loudly, because Alex spooked. Their pen went flying, and headphones were yanked off in a moment.

“Jesus, Tom!”

“You’ve been up here at least two hours with arts and craft supplies. Dare I ask why?”

Alex slams their hands down over a book Tom doesn’t recognize. “It’s a secret. Shoo.”

“Not until you say hi to Peter so he knows you’re up here.”

Alex sits up to glance over the boxes, and Tom turns to see Peter’s head up in the entrance of the attic, looking towards them.

“Hiya, Petey!” Alex says, grinning.

“Alex, I’m so mad at you right now, don’t try me.” Peter mumbles, crawling down the stairs. Alex laughs, and then turns back to the mess of arts and crafts supplies.

“Just clean up and come down soon, alright? And no glitter, please.”

“You say that like I wouldn’t have used it already.”

“I can always hope.” Tom replies, turning around and leaving the attic as quickly as he can (it really is quite small).

He finds Peter pouting on the sofa, watching an Oregon Field Guide episode that Tom has recorded on tape (God, how old were they?).

“I’m still mad at you.” Peter announces as Tom sits next to him.

Tom snorts, wrapping his arms around Peter. “Alright, Pete, you can sulk over me being right.”

Peter tried to shove him off, but it was pretty half-hearted, so Tom snuggled right up, kissing the side of his face before settling in next to him as they watch something about the Blue mountains on Field Guide.

The next morning, the trio wakes up in their large bed. Tom’s in the middle, curled up to Peter, and Alex is sprawled out on the other side of him.

The small tiny one takes up half the bed. Tom thought, sitting up and scooting himself to the end of the bed and then stands up, stretching and grabbing a bathrobe. He glances out at the early morning light through the blinds, and then stumbles out towards the kitchen.

He starts the coffee (glad he set it up last night because he’s not feeling awake at all), and then turns back to the table after setting out three mugs for once the pot’s full.

A book with a notecard sits in the middle of the table. Tom blinks as he recognizes it from yesterday’s attic adventures with Alex.

He opens the notecard, and reads it slowly. He hears heavy footsteps coming up behind him right as the coffee pot clicks off.

Peter yawns. “Morning, TJ. Want me to pour you some coffee?”

Tom nods, and Peter heads over to the coffee pot, pouring them both full cups of coffee. Peter returns to the table, sitting down next to him.

“What’s that?” Peter asks after a few sips of coffee. Tom hands him the card, and moves the book between them

“Gift from Alex.”

Peter reads the card, and then mumbles quietly.

“Shit, I almost forgot that was today.”

“They certainly didn’t.” Tom whispers, opening the book.

They flip through page after page of photos, notes beautifully written, pictures gorgeous, and the sentiment and love creeping through the pages. It’s one of the best scrapbooks either of them has ever seen, and that’s not just because it's about the two people each of them respectfully love the most.

They’re on the last few pages when there’s the sound of footsteps crossing the living room, a little lighter than either of their steps.

Tom turns. Alex stands there in a large shirt, obviously stolen from Peter’s section of the dresser, and men’s basketball shorts from their own.

“Morning, Benny.” Tom murmurs, and Alex smiles sleepily.

Peter turns, and gives Alex a soft look, one filled with adoration. “Happy anniversary, Benny Boo.”

Alex giggles, and pours themself a coffee before walking over to stand between the two, kissing both on the tops of their heads as they look at the final page of the scrapbook.

“Happy anniversary.”

Man, I haven’t seen some of these shows in a while, and others I need to watch all the way through. So in case anyone asks why I don’t have shows like Gravity Falls or Gargoyles, I either haven’t seen them all the way through, or it’s been too long since I’ve watched them last time to review them fairly. Anyway, my favorite animated Disney series are…

#5. Star vs. The Forces of Evil

I was highly debating between this one and Kim Possible, and ultimately Star won out, though just under the promise that it’s building up to something huge in the upcoming season.

Anyway, I really like this show, despite being a giant amalgamation of several different works of fiction, Star brings them together in a way that manages to carve a real fun, fast-paced personality of its own. I really like shows that evolve and gain depth as they go along, yet they don’t ever abandon the roots of what made the show originally appealing in the first place. This show started out really zany and goofy then gained a lot more depth and drama in its second season, but it never did away with any of its original weirdness and charm that made it a fun show to watch.

It’s a show that has the potential to reach even greater heights, and I don’t like that, as of the time of this post, it’s been left in a cliffhanger, but I have it in good faith that it won’t disappoint.

#4. Chip n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers

I have a big soft spot for this cartoon. Premise is simple- you have this small gang of rodents (and a fly), they find trouble, they try to fix to it. That’s it.

This is one of those shows that I can describe as being just a fun adventure show, it’s always entertaining to watch, the characters are all very endearing and entertaining, they have lots in the variety of the cases- they vary from other animals, to humans, to both!

It’s just a show that puts you in a good mood no matter what, so (needless to say) I highly recommend it.

#3. Darkwing Duck

Awwww yeah. This show shares a lot of the same good qualities as the previous one, but with the added benefit of some better comedy, a totally kick-ass theme tune, a great (though egotistical), fun hero, really enjoyable characters all around, a great rogues’ gallery, and Jim Cummings. 

I’m sorry not really, Jim Cummings is simply the best, and anybody who argues that is just simply wrong.

#2. Recess

Oh, this show. This show is nostalgic to the power of two million.

This is like the more action-based (well “action” in the loosest sense of the word, but it still applies) version of Hey Arnold!, a show that really felt was all about kids being kids, doing kid things, and it’s really creative and fun, they really turned the school playground into an adventure each and every time. I don’t know what it is about Disney shows, but they’re really good at capturing the feeling of adventure into their shows (I’ve said adventure a lot, but it applies greatly to these shows in the best way), and this one if no exception. Plus I loved that this show was definitely one of their more grounded shows, yet they would always push the ridiculousness of these premises in other neat ways- I mean, one episode had TJ basically fight off against HAL 9000, another had them solving a crime mystery, in another episode one of them went to court for staying silent for the whole day- it’s silly, but this show made it work.

#1. Tron: Uprising

Oh, I have been waiting for years to get to talk about this show, and I’m HAPPY I finally get to do it here.

I don’t care who you are, I don’t care what you’re doing, I don’t even care if you’re a fan of Tron or not- stop what you’re doing right now, and go watch this show. That is an order, because this is show is more than worth your time. You see lists of “Top Whatever Most Underrated Cartoons”, and it is criminal that this show is not mentioned anywhere. THIS show is the definition of underrated, and it is absolutely spectacular. It’s basically Disney’s Samurai Jack- that alone should tell you how great this show is. I don’t even like either one of the Tron movies, and I could gush about this show for ages.

It’s incredibly stylish, it just LOOKS cool, and unlike that garbage movie Tron: Legacy, it’s actually full of interesting characters, it puts its incredible setting to good use and HOW, the villains are some of the most chilling you’ll see in any animated show ever, it perfectly balances its dark, sleek look with likable characters, genuinely funny comedy, and some really intense action, and- for a Disney show especially- it’s incredibly gory! Yeah, they’re all living in a virtual world so there’s no blood, but you still see people getting sliced in several different ways, but this isn’t just a show that started lighthearted and got more serious, it was already serious and somehow gets even darker in truly dramatic ways.

This show deserves far more attention and love. Like I said, whether or not you like the Tron movies is completely irrelevant, this is just a DAMN amazing show.

i know you like jack/parse (even if u dont really go there any more) but i have been seeing mentions of kent/sid and at one point kent/geno on my dash what do u think of these? and who do u think kent get along with in the nhl?

i mean.

kent/toews is kind of a gimme, isn’t it? i think kent would be really, really attracted to one jonathan toews for reasons he chooses not to analyze. (shut up, french-speaking weirdly intense hockey-bots with great asses is not a TYPE, OKAY???)

kent/sid is just the other side of jack’s personality, the sweeter more user-friendly side, but i think they’re both too petty and extra to get along. coupla momma’s boys who would take national pride too far when they played each other at the olympics. 

kent/geno is... fine. geno is fine. the problem is, geno is not my type. my type is snarky assholes with hearts of gold. i get the feeling kent’s type is also assholes, given the evidence we’ve been presented with. 

kent would love seguin (i maintain) only seguin can be a little mUCH sometimes. kent is a crotchety grandpa at heart and needs his beauty sleep. there are times and places for all-night super smash bros tournaments tyler and THE DAY BEFORE A GAME IS NOT IT. but in general, and in small doses, he adores ty.

i think kent would have a huge soft spot for the rookie first overalls. like he would just relate to them so much that he would go out of his way to make them feel welcome (by chirping them relentlessly both on and off the ice). he would not rest until conner mcdavid and auston matthews etc felt comfortable texting him for advice at all hour of the day.

kent would LOVE his team usa teammates, esp the forwards. kent and tj oshie can bro out ALL DAY LONG, esp because tj oshie is simultaneously a fratboy and an old married, which is kent’s favorite paradox. kent texts phil kessel for advice at all hours of the day. kent has weird, sexy dreams about zach parise that he never tells anyone about. kent calls pavelski ‘papa pavs’ and snapchats him artsy pictures of his desserts on his cheat days. 

basically kent only knows the aces, team usa, and the all-star caliber players, and he’s bffs with all of them, but especially the ones who can take what he dishes out and give it back.

My thoughts about A Year in the Life (or: How I’m a /bit/ behind on things like that)

Things I loved about A Year in the Life:

- Lorelai and Luke. Their wedding. Luke opening his heart to Lorelai in their kitchen. How I love these two. <3

- Paul Anka. Duh.

- Jess. (And that’s coming from someone who wasn’t a fan of Jess in the original series.)

- Dean and Rory’s moment in Doose’s. Dean having a happy family. Dean being a loving daddy. Just Dean. I’ve always had a soft spot for him and they did his character justice in AYitL.

- Emily and Lorelai’s therapy sessions (even though they led them nowhere).

- Jess and Luke’s relationship. April and Luke’s relationship. Everyone having a relationship with Luke ever.

- PARIS. <3 Paris and Rory’s relationship. Pity that we didn’t get to see Paris in the last episodes.

- Michel having a relationship with Frederick. Michel’s ambition for more (even though it broke my heart a little). Michel trying to get along with children.

- How Richard’s death affected each of the Gilmore Girls in a different way, especially Emily.

- Lane and Zach’s family life.

- Hep Alien still rocks on! (But oh boy, Gil has gotten pale, man.)

- Kirk’s wedding decorations.

- Even though I’m on the fence about the whole Logan/Rory debacle, I did like their final evening/morning together.

- Rory writing a book!

- Liz and TJ joining a vegetable sect on accident.

- I loved everything about Emily’s evolution in AYitL. <3

- Lorelai expanding the Dragonfly, so Michel can stay.

- Lorelai making that phone call to Emily, telling her about Richard and pretzels.

There are probably more things I liked about AYitL, but these are the main things that pop up in my head right now.

Things I didn’t like:

- SOOKIE’S STORYLINE. What the hell was that about? I get that McCarthy hadn’t got the time to show up a lot in the spin-off but c’mon. The Sookie that we got to know in the original series would never leave Lorelai hanging high and dry. :/ Palladino should’ve handled this better.

- Emily selling the Gilmore house. D: Don’t get me wrong, I like to see Emily happy in Nantucket but still... That house meant so much for our girls. :c

- The whole Bertha-and-family-moving-in-with-Emily-crap.

- Where the hell was Miss Patty? I only saw her once- once! Unforgiveable!

- I don’t get what Americans have with living/studying abroad/faraway? I want my characters all living close to each other, dammit! That’s also why I don’t like Emily living in Nantucket. She’s so far away from Lorelai and Rory, what’s up with that? :/ Or maybe I’m too used to living in a country where’s everything in reach via a short train ride.

- Paris and Doyle having a divorce. Poor children.

- WHAT WAS UP WITH THE ENDLESS SINGING SOMETIMES? o_o

- Rory having a one-night-stand with that ‘Wookie’ (?); what the fuck was up with that? I get that Rory was supposed to have a quarter-life crisis or whatever but they really overdid it with this.

- THE ENTIRE BOYFRIEND PAUL THING. -_-

- Jack Smith needs to get out.

Again: I’ve probably forgotten some things I wanted to write down, but oh well.

Things I’m on the fence about:

- RORY’S STORYLINE. My head is still swirling. See later posts about this.

- The Logan/Rory thing.

- RORY BEING PREGNANT. Fuck. (My bets are on Logan being the father btw.)

- The conversation between Christopher and Rory bugged me somehow.

Things that need to and will happen in the future:

- SOOKIE TAKING UP HER JOB AGAIN AS COOK. (!)

- Lorelai and Rory visiting Emily a lot in Nantucket. (!)

I grew up with hockey like any other sport, casually and only really knowing/caring about my home team & only interacting with my fellow home team fans, but now I'm seeing there's like this whole tumblr fandom to the nhl and I was wondering what are like the reputations of the teams??? And obvi everyone has their own biases based on their faves but I was just curious (bc I love hearing about all of the reputations and drama and gossip that is 100% alive in the sports world)

um okay i really love this ask but i’m also Nervous to answer it bc obviously my views are gonna be based on my teams and tbh i don’t a ton about some of the teams. so let me just preface this by saying that i don’t intend to shit on anyone’s team. pls don’t come yell at me. i love y’all. i’m gonna put this under a read more bc it’s gonna be long af. this isn’t so much drama as it is just a primer on the teams bc i’m not looking to start drama. 

Eastern Conference:

Metro Division:

Carolina Hurricanes (canes): not as relevant as they should be tbh. low fan attendance but some really solid players (highlights include jeff skinner and rookie sebastian aho, who just scored his first nhl hatty last night)

Columbus Blue Jackets (CBJ): haven’t been great really ever until this year. they have one of the best rookies in the league but also arguably the most hated coach in the league. they fire a cannon when they score which tj oshie called “the worst thing in hockey”

New Jersey Devils: they used to be known for playing really boring hockey. i don’t know a ton about them tbh. devils fans feel free to tell me more (nicely).

New York Islanders (Isles): usually Not That Good, despite having John Tavares as captain, but i’m salty bc they’ve beaten the caps multiple times this season. their ice sounds weird when the players skate. idk their arena is funky.

New York Rangers: The king, Henrik Lundqvist. in my experience, loud fans.  having a really solid season (the metro is STACKED - don’t let the standings deceive you). original six team.

Philadelphia Flyers: uhhh… honestly despite having friends who are flyers fans and them being the closest team to me other than my home team, i don’t know a ton. wayne simmonds is underrated (and now an all-star mvp!!!). they also have one of my personal fave rookies, travis konecny.

Pittsburgh Penguins (pens); one of the best teams in the league, no question. the fan base on here is slightly inflated but don’t get me wrong, they’re good. reigning stanley cup champs. as a caps fan, i will always hate playing the pens. if i tried to list their best players, i’d be listing most of the team. also they have sidney crosby so there’s that.

Washington Capitals (caps): MY BOYS!!!! known for being really solid in the regular season and perpetually choking in the playoffs (often against the pens). home to alex ovechkin, one of the most prolific goal scorers of all time, and nicklas backstrom, ridiculously underrated center to ovi’s left wing. first in the league rn.

Atlantic

Boston Bruins: original six team. not having a great season, but somehow still in a playoff spot? i’m not a bruins fan but i have a soft spot for their organization bc the players are some of the most vocal in their support for the lgbtqia community (esp brad marchand) and zdeno chara is a great captain. my bruins friends are Aggressive about them, but that’s kind of a boston sports thing in general.

Buffalo Sabres: jack eichel made them slightly more relevant, but they’re still Not Great.

Detroit Red Wings; another original six team. hands down most bizarre fan tradition that i still don’t understand. this is their last season in the joe, their current arena. won back to back cups in the 50s and 90s.

Florida Panthers: another team with low fan attendance. they’re dealt with a ton of injuries this season, and the somewhat unceremonious firing of their head coach. despite that, they’re only a few points out of the playoffs (the atlantic is all pretty close together rn except the habs).

Montreal Canadians: (habs) Very Enthusiastic Fans. Very French Canadian. mostly known on tumblr bc of the hatred for their head coach, the gallys, and the pk subban trade. more stanley cups than an other team by far. another original six team.

Ottawa Senators (sens); have never won the cup but make pretty regular playoff appearances. i don’t know a ton about them either.

Tampa Bay Lightning (bolts): riddled with injuries this season, including a major one to captain steven stamkos. there was a ton of drama surrounding jonathan drouin a few seasons ago, but as a non-lightning fan, i super don’t want to wade into that. they’re good now (when their players aren’t injured), but i think they’re gonna be incredible in a few years bc they had a ton of prospects at world juniors and pretty much all of them were amazing.

Toronto Maple Leafs (leafs): the loves of my life. haven’t won the cup in 50 years but will bring up their historic cup wins all the time. leaf fans Suffer (just ask steve dangle). the hockey gods have blessed us with incredible rookies, headlined by rookies of the month auston matthews, mitch marner, and william nylander. another original six team.

Western Conference:

Pacific Division:

Anaheim Ducks; named after disney movies. people hate ryan kesler (but his son is really cute). i hate losing to them and i have no concrete reason why.

Arizona Coyotes (yotes): as a fan of them, they suck. they have good players that can never seem to click. their captain shane doan just passed steve yzerman as the player with the 5th most games with a single franchise. shane doan is arizona hockey. currently getting talked about bc they’re the team that inspired auston matthews to start playing hockey. tumblr is still salty about them sending dylan strome back to the otters.

Calgary Flames: Johnny Hockey™

Edmonton Oilers; perpetual draft lottery winners. doing really well this season in large part to current league points leader and youngest captain in nhl history conald mcdonald (or connor mcdavid, as he’s better known).

LA Kings; i don’t know a ton about them but people seem not to like them. they have one of my least favorite players in the league.

San Jose Sharks: gained more fans bc they went to the stanley cup final last season. some of the best players in the league. famous/infamous for their holiday videos.

Vancouver Canucks: home to the Sedin twins, Very Important hockey people to know, Having a rough season.

Central Division:

Chicago Blackhawks: Nope.

Colorado Avalache (avs/aves): Yikes. They can’t catch a mcfreaking break this season. nate mackinnon crushed it with team north america over the summer. the avs are the one team doing worse than the coyotes.

Dallas Stars: one of the most popular teams on tumblr. not having a great season (partially bc of widespread injuries). great at goal scoring and not much else.

Minnesota Wild: First in the West rn and home to the current best goalie in the league. I’ve somehow become a wild fan this season.

Nashville Predators (Preds): Bright jerseys. the new home of pk subban. their goalies love each other. elina is gonna kill me for not knowing more about them. i really don’t want to get into m**e r***bero though.

St. Louis Blues: just fired their head coach. home to one of the best scorers in the league. beat the h**ks in the winter classic, which truly cleansed my soul.

Winnipeg Jets: have struggling with goaltending since the move from atlanta. currently gaining notice because of patrik laine, the 2nd overall pick in the 2016 draft, and nikolaj ehlers.

I’m most proud of the drawing I created for this Anthology, ‘Embrace’. Here’s a sneak peek:

My inspiration was Stucky + Michaelangelo and I pushed myself technically further than I’ve ever gone with creating folds in fabric and capturing the emotion of Steve and Bucky holding one another. Plus I spent over one-hundred hours on the piece.

I drew a series of Avengers as their teen-punk versions which started me on my High School Stucky AU fic/drawing journey. Imagining the qualities of each Avenger and translating them into the kind of kids I hung out with in high school was a blast. My punk Bucky is my true alter ego Bucky, and if I could magically transform into him I’d jump at the chance. I also have a weakness for tattooed Steve, and drawing all the London punk details on Clint took me on sweet nostalgic road trip.

My current Stucky project is creatively the most fulfilling thing I’ve ever attempted. My handle on Archive of Our Own is lucidnancyboy and my fic is called King Of The Jocks King Of The Misfits. It’s a multi-chapter fic with a drawing accompanying each chapter. I haven’t written since college, choosing to focus on drawing and painting instead, but my teen punk AU drawings got a Stucky story brewing in my brain that I just had to let out. The result is a reimagining of Steve and Bucky’s arc in the MCU, exploring the difficulties young people experience in High School: sexual identity, coming out, depression, anxiety, bullying, substance abuse, homophobia and tragedy. That’s the rough stuff: it also plays with music, film, so many pop culture references that your head will spin, humor, humor and more humor and most importantly the unconditional love of Steve and Bucky.

What do you most love about Stucky/the Stucky fandom?: The heart of Steve and Bucky’s story include so much depth and creating art and writing about their unbreakable bond is so inspiring for me. There are so many themes to explore, their story includes so many nuances, and no matter how the fandom pairs them their love always bleeds through.

I’ve been writing my first Stucky fanfic and the reception from the fandom has been so welcoming. The positive comments discussing the rich themes I’m exploring in my story have been so affirming and have encouraged me to keep writing and pursuing my dream to transition my career into a full time author/artist.

When was the moment that you shipped it?: Originally I was a rabid Frostiron shipper, because Loki is a sexy beast. Devouring Frostiron fics led me to switch my primary allegiance to Stucky. Steve and Bucky kept popping up as secondary characters and I was sucked in by their chemistry and haven’t looked back.

Other fandoms/ships you love: I really stick to what I love, which is Marvel. I still have a soft spot for Tony/Loki, and Clint/Natasha. In my own writing I’ve somehow managed to give Bucky & Clint an epic bromance and oh lordy do I love some TJ Hammond mixed with Jack Benjamin/Stucky.

5 THINGS THAT GOT ME THROUGH THE WEEK - PRO WRESTLING EDITION

1. SETH ROLLINS v. SAMI ZAYN FOR AN ENTRY SPOT IN THE ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH (WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW)

These two men put one of the best matches on Monday Night Raw in 2017. Yes, we’re only a few weeks into the year, but it’s highly unlikely that a better match will be seen on RAW. Seth Rollins and Sami Zayn are franchise athletes and this match proves why both me are on WWE’s “flagship” show. Zayn beating Seth for Rollins’ spot in the Royal Rumble was big.

The Triple H theme song, playing at the end of the match, distracting Rollins long enough Sami Zayn to roll up Rollins for the win was great. Triple H is once again doing his “Cerebral Assassin” bit, playing mind games with the WWE fans and Rollins. Now with Rollins out of the Rumble match, it’s no question that the WrestleMania match against Triple H is going to happen. Although this was the first time HHH responded to Rollins (technically), since costing him the Universal Championship a few months ago, their feud has officially picked up momentum. I want to see Rollins get his revenge.

As for Sami Zayn, it’s now my hope that Sami Zayn gets a chance to shine following that this HUGE win over.

2. THE MIZ vs. DEAN AMBROSE FOR THE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN A NO DQ, LUMBERJACK MATCH (WWE SMACKDOWN LIVE)

Lumberjack matches have a tendency to be bland, but this match the opposite of boring. The Miz and Dean Ambrose had a competitive match and were able to get all of the lumberjacks involved in the match. This feud between with The Miz has been the best rivalry Dean Ambrose has had in over a year. AJ Styles is Smackdown’s #1 wrestler, but The Miz is it’s #1 villain and the best opponent for Dean Ambrose - the closest thing this era has to a Stone Cold Steve Austin. In order for Ambrose to be at his best, he needs a nemesis who can draw the competitiveness. As unlikely as it may have seemed at first, both Ambrose and The Miz make a good pair. Will all of this lead to WrestleMania? Time will tell.

3. AJ STYLES AND JOHN CENA FACE-TO-FACE ENCOUNTER (WWE SMACKDOWN LIVE)

No punches were thrown but the verbal jabs were deadly. John Cena is one of the best on the microphone and AJ Styles was able to stand toe-to-toe. My favourite line of the exchange came from AJ Styles when he said,

“At the Royal Rumble, I’m not settling for an inch. I’m taking a foot and putting it in your ass.“

Their match for the WWE Championship will be exciting.

4. NEVILLE V. CEDRIC ALEXANDER (WWE 205 LIVE)

Why can’t these type of cruiserweight division matches be on RAW? This match could main event a pay per view, some day. These two men put on an exciting match, which I am sure will not be their last. I was convinced that Cedric Alexander would actually win, and I believe he would have if not for Noam Dar’s interference at the end. Wow, the Cruiserweight division keeps picking up steam and its stars are getting attention. Neville has been on fire since coming back from injury, the Cedric x Noam Dar rivalry is brewing, Rich Swann has stepped up in a positive way with his recent attacks on Neville (he’s no longer a “soft” character). It appears as though the Cruiserweight division has taken a turn for the better. 2017 is going to be a good year for the 205 and under crowd. Rich Swann v. Neville at Royal Rumble should deliver as well.

5. MICKIE JAMES AND AJ STYLES INTERVIEW SEGMENTS FROM TALKING SMACK

AJ Styles and Mickie James had tremendous interviews on Talking Smack, giving the audience more of a reason to care about their current feuds in the WWE.

    I liked this segment because it allowed Mickie James to further explain her reasoning for coming back to WWE and targeting Becky Lynch. The idea that James, a five-time WWE Women’s Champion feels as though her contributions to Women’s wrestling has been forgotten in the wake of the recent “women’s revolution”, didn’t come across as being contrived because her resume speaks volumes for her. Mickie James is back not only to fight with the newer wrestlers but to become Women’s Champion, once again. The key moment was the admittance that her union with Alexa Bliss will remain until she targets the Smackdown Live Women’s Championship. A heel who wants to be champion rather than simply seeking revenge is a good thing.

    This interview segment tied perfectly into what happened on Smackdown Live between Cena & Styles. The Phenomenal One feels disrespected and is fed up with the way the World - WWE management, in particular - keep overlooking him in favour of John Cena. I want to see this WWE Championship match at the Royal Rumble. I want to see these two men fight. I want to see AJ win. It seems as though Styles is moving from his arrogant, cocky character to a being an angry man who has a chip on his shoulder with something to prove to world and that makes him dangerous.I believe this angrier AJ Styles will retain the Championship, going 4-0 against Cena at Royal Rumble, and silencing all doubters. Similar to Mickie James’s angle, we see a wrestler fighting for respect, but the difference here is that AJ has owned Cena in the ring yet is still undervalued. There is legitimacy is Styles’s attitude and that adds authenticity to the rivalry as well the interview.

[Hope]

Hope took Emmett to the private room connect to hers and set him down on her lap. She dialed Zach’s number and handed it to Emmett. When Emmett heard his dad’s voice he smiled softly, “Hi daddy it’s me.” He said looking at Hope.

[Zach]

Zach picked up the phone and answered it. Then he heard Emmett’s voice, “Hey buddy, how are you? Are you looking after mommy for me?”

[Hope]

Emmett hummed, “Yes. Mommy said I can carry the wings.” He smiled. “Where are you?”

[Zach]

“The wings? What are you talking about? I am waiting for mommy in another room. You will see me soon don't worry.”

[Hope]

Hope stole the phone from Emmett and attacked with him kisses. “He meant rings. We are still working on r’s.” She said laughing as Emmett laughed. She let him go and watched him play with some of the toys. “Did you get my first birthday present for you?” She asked knowing the guards were supposed to show Zach the motorcycle she had bought for him.

[Zach]

Zach had not had anyone come by and he was about to say no when he heard a knock on the door. “Maybe that is it?” He questions before getting up to answer the door. There were guards there and then a motorcycle was in front of them. “Birthday present from Princess Hope.” The guard read off the scroll.

His eyes widened at the present. He thanks the guards before turning his attention back to Hope. “You got me a motorcycle for my birthday? I love it, you know this means I get to take you for rides on it now then right?”

[Hope]

Hope laughed through the phone and smiled, “I look forward to it. My boyfriend had this really cool leather jacket I stole so I can wear it when my husband takes me out riding.” She replied. “Just don’t go picking up other girls with that. I don’t need them drooling over you more than they already do.”

“Your other gift comes on our honeymoon and another one happens to be under this wedding dress.” She teased him watching Emmett place his hand in his mouth.

[Zach]

“Oh so you are the one that took my jacket. I figured Emmett high jacked it at some point.” He lets out a small laugh. “Believe me the only girl getting on the back of my motorcycle with me is you.” He reassures her with a smile.

“Oh really? I am looking forward to seeing it then. I have a gift of my own for you as well. But I will be showing you after the wedding as well.” He explains with a smile.

[Hope]

“You have so many I don’t see how me stealing one jacket would even matter.” She laughed with him. “Your son made me buy him one so he has his own to match his father.” She smiled. “Ah and does this gift have anything to do with where we are going for our honeymoon? You haven’t told me anything so I’m assuming I’m not allowed to know even if I ask very nicely?”

[Zach]

“You are right, I am not telling you about what the present is because that would ruin the surprise don’t you think?” He teases her lightly over the phone. “Awe that is cute. I bet he will grow up to break some hearts someday.” The male jokes.

[Hope]

“He’s going to grow up and we are going to have to deal with a lot. I’m sure he will be just like you so I’m going to have to deal with another assassin in the house.” She responded. “Are you sure you want to have a girl? You are going to have to stop her from falling for people that will take her away.” She teased him.

[Zach]

“Oh gosh. Maybe he can just work for the guard?” He asks before nodding his head even though she couldn’t see him doing it. “Yeah I do, she wouldn’t break her father’s heart by going away with someone else. She will love her family above all things.”

[Hope]

“Yeah good luck telling him no. I will love to see how that goes for you.” She laughed seeing Emmett frowning at just hearing the word. “Hm I don’t know. You took me away from my family. So it would only be karma.”

[Zach]

“Not really, I mean you still stay at the castle from time to time and recently we have been living here so I didn’t steal you away completely necessarily...but I would like to think that she would invite them over for dinner so we could meet them. Then it will be our turn to be the judgemental parents.”

[Hope]

Hope hummed, “I see and are you going to be okay with her boyfriend or girlfriend making her cum in front of us or having sex with her on our table?” She asked teasingly.

[Zach]

“That is a very strong no from me. I don’t approve of that. I mean at least we were somewhat subtle and they probably wouldn’t have noticed if they didn’t have the nose of a hound dog.” He jokes.

[Hope]

“Yeah and you acknowledging the fact I called you daddy didn’t help either.” Hope responded before smiling, “I think a boy is just fine for now. It seems a lot of the things we did would have you murder the boy or girl our daughter decides to date and I think you should learn a couple of things from my dad and not kill the person she loves.”

[Zach]

“Yeah I don’t think so either. I suppose I should pick that up from your father but at the same time they have to earn their right to court them just as I had to earn mine as well. Everything needs to be reviewed so we can make sure that they find true happiness as we have because our kids deserve that.”

[Hope]

“I agree.” She smiled. Emmett played with the end of Hope’s dress before she heard a knock on the door. She asked who it was and realized it was the guards. “Ugh, what do they want.” She huffed.

[Zach]

“Maybe it's your brothers I heard they were going to come by to wish you congratulations and see how you were holding up. I know TJ mentioned something about cold feet so I don't know maybe it's about that?”

[Hope]

“They are in the other room talking.” She responded before picking up Emmett and holding him on her hip as she moved to open the door. She heard them tell her Ken was there and she nodded before closing the door. “It was Ken. Well it’s not Ken, the guards are saying Ken is here and wants to speak to me.” The hybrid said placing her son back on his feet and fixing his tux.

[Zach]

Hearing that Ken wanted to speak to Hope worried him slightly. “So...then are you going to talk to him?” He asks while looking at the other.

[Hope]

“Why not? I’m sure he just wants to congratulate us. I haven’t seen in months who knows he could be dating someone else or whatever.” She replied. “Do you not want me to?” Hope asked.

[Zach]

“I don't think it is to congratulate us...I really would prefer if you didn't at least not until after we get married and go on our honeymoon. He has waited this long, he can wait a bit longer don't you think? Besides we need to be at the altar in a few minutes and I am sure you will really love your surprise.” He smiles.

[Hope]

“Zach if we are going to do this you are going to have to tell me why you don’t actually want me to talk to him until weeks later. He is here so obviously he will be at the wedding regardless and talk to me regardless. And you can’t stop him from doing that. So him ‘waiting this long’ doesn’t make sense to me.” Hope said. “You aren’t still jealous of him are you?”

[Zach]

“Because I know since this is the last ditch possible moment he could try to win you over is by doing what your father did and ask you to leave me for him. Think about it. He hasn't talked to you in forever but the moment he knows you are about to get married he realizes the only way to get you back is to ask you to leave me and go to him the day of your wedding. That's how he will figure out if you love him. I am telling you Hope, he is here to ask for you back and to ask you to leave me. I heard Stiles talking to TJ about it in the hall earlier.”

He takes a deep breath, “Please Hope, I can't lose you. I love you too much to lose you. Just please trust me.” Zach pleads.

[Hope]

Hope sighed, “Baby we just spent the morning together. We made love and just held each other. It would take more than someone to talk to me to make me leave you. I was literally just talking about having more kids with you. My plans are not going to magically change because he comes to me and talks to me. He is going to have to do a lot. Like sneak into a castle when I’m grounded and help me escape. Or turn a room into a beach. He’s going to need to give me an adorable son. Now I don’t know about you but it I think it is going to be pretty hard for him to do any of that. Not to mention he is going to need a way bigger d-i-c-k to make me happy.” She teased him. “You are not going to lose me Zach. I am marrying you today. And you are going to be my dragon assassin husband who I love very much.”

[Zach]

“You and I both know that you have a soft spot for Ken, so you can see why I would be worried about such a thing.” He confesses. “I don't want you to see him. I will tell the guards to keep him out of the ceremony. I am not letting him ruin today. He had his chance and he decided not to take it. I'm not giving him the chance to take you from me. You aren't seeing him or you will be punished in a way you really won't like.” He slightly growled.

[Hope]

“He is my friend Zach. The only one I had before Jay. I care about him that’s as far as it goes. I’m not even the girl he thinks I am.” She replied before hearing his words. “I...I can’t even say hi?”

[Zach]

“And I am your future husband. No, you can't say hi because he will try to talk you out of it before you even start forming the word ‘hi’. If you even think about it I will fuck you so hard in front of everyone including your parents and you will regret not listening to me are we clear?” He growled.

[Hope]

Hope stopped speaking as she heard Zach’s words and she couldn’t lie that his dominance was something that extremely sexy. “Okay...I won’t speak to him.” She said biting her lip.

[Zach]

Zach had a hint of sexy, darkness to his voice as it sounded like velvet on the phone. “There is a good girl. Now come meet daddy at the altar and daddy will reward you.” He purrs while making his way to the chapel.

[Nibs]

Nibs had made his way to Hope's room to walk her down the aisle. Going over he knocked on the door, “Hope are you ready baby? Can I come in?”

[Hope]

She groaned, “Zach I can’t go with my father like this. He will literally smell how much I want you right now.” She whispered shouted at him. Hearing her father she sighed, “Uhh one second.”

[Zach]

“The faster you get here the faster I can help you take care of that baby girl.” He smirked, “I’ll be waiting. I love you.” Zach hangs up the phone knowing Nibs would bring her out.

Andrew Link’s Bears Mock Draft 2.0: Trade-Back Edition

I am planning to release a new Bears mock draft every Thursday leading up to the NFL Draft. Since the Draft opens on a Thursday, the final mock draft (my personal ideal scenario) will be released the week prior to the Draft, on April 20th. My plan is to use different scenarios that could play out in real life, although I do plan on having a Cleveland Browns-style trade back edition just for fun.

For this particular mock draft, I utilized the Fanspeak Premium edition so that I could introduce trades into the equation. While the program itself offers a bevy of trade proposals, I stuck with just the single trade for this mock. I had Ryan Pace trading the No. 3 overall pick to the Jets, for the No. 6 overall and No. 39 overall (second-round pick).

The word is that the Jets really love Mitch Trubisky and he is sitting there at No. 3 in this scenario. I realistically believe that the Bears could have also gotten the No. 107 pick (third-round compensatory pick) in the deal. Perhaps the Bears would need to toss in their seventh-rounder or a 2018 sixth-round pick as well, to even out the value. Fanspeak declined this proposal, so I went with picking up a high second-rounder to move back there spots in the first round.

Disclaimer: I am not a draft expert. By no means do I claim to know everything about all of these prospects. Every year as the NFL Draft approaches, I like to familiarize myself with as many prospects as I can with a focus on the Bears’ needs. For this exercise, I used the Fanspeak Premium mock draft tool with Matt Miller’s “Big Board.” The point being to run a mock where I had to do some research on players that I was not wholly familiar with.

Round 1 – Pick #6 – 6th Overall: Jonathan Allen – DE – Alabama

Let me start off by saying that I don’t think the Bears should draft Jonathan Allen at No. 6 (Or at No. 3, for that matter). Personally, I do not see why so many draft experts claim that he is a great player. Other than scheme fit, which I think is very important when drafting, this doesn’t seem to be the type of player that the Bears really need on defense. Since his name comes up so frequently on other mocks, I wanted to watch his tape again with fresh eyes.

If you are looking for a run-stuffer, then Allen is your guy. He has long arms and does an excellent job of “bench-pressing” offensive lineman. He has some hand-fighting skills as well, which he uses to disengage from blockers. Tackles and guards rarely get into his body and keep him blocked. His play recognition is average and he does not move down the line well, which is where interior defensive linemen make their money. His “anchor” is excellent, but he tends get off balance and play too high when double-teamed.

Allen’s pass-rush ability is subpar. “But Andrew, he had 22.5 sacks his last two seasons!” He did rack up some numbers, but if you watch the film, those numbers are deceiving. I watched four games in which he had a total of 5.5 sacks. Only one of those sacks did he truly beat his man. For the other 4.5 sacks, he was either completely unblocked or a teammate drove the quarterback into his arms.

Jonathan Allen is a good football player, make no mistake about it. I just don’t think he is a high first-round talent. He reminds me a lot of a player on the Bears roster already: Akiem Hicks. I really like Hicks as a player, but he was a third-round pick and I think you need to have a true impact player in the top 10.

Round 2 – Pick #4 – 36th Overall: Sidney Jones – Cornerback – Washington

Let me start off by saying that Jones has an Achilles’ tendon issue but by most reports, the injury should be cleared-up prior to training camp. Given the current depth at cornerback on the Bears roster, I believe that he is still a good bet in the second round.

Jones’ production is similar to last week’s CB pick, Tre’Davious White: 8 interceptions and 21 passes defended in three full seasons. The reason for his relative lack of production is that he just didn’t have a lot of targets go his way. He simply shut his man down, which is saying a lot in a pass-heavy Pac-12 conference.

Washington plays a good mix of man and zone coverages, and Jones excels equally at both. He is not a press-man cornerback, so he doesn’t often use a “jam” at the line-of-scrimmage. Instead, he has a way of opening his hips just at the snap of the ball and anticipating a wide receiver’s route. Jones is the definition of a “technician.” His technique is near-perfect. He uses the boundary line as an additional defender and has a keen ability to keep himself between the quarterback and wide receiver.

Jones is the type of cornerback that you can play in any defense. While he’s not what I would describe as a physical defender, he doesn’t shy away from contact when making the tackle either. He is smart, has his eyes in the backfield and when given the opportunity, makes plays on the ball. Sidney Jones would make an excellent addition to any secondary.

Round 2 – Pick #7 – 39th Overall: Budda Baker – Free Safety – Washington

Budda Baker is one of my favorite players to watch. He is not “flashy” in that he won’t always make huge plays. What he is though, is an excellent football player. Honestly, I believe that Baker is every bit as talented as Jamal Adams, and you can likely get him in the second round.

I don’t really like to compare players, but sometimes that is the easiest way to have the reader understand what I see. When I watch Baker on tape, he reminds of another second-round pick by the Bears, who also happened to play safety: Mike Brown. I am not saying he is the same player, but their play is very similar.

What I initially noticed is that he plays across from a wide receiver or tight end most of the time. Baker is not your typical “center field” type of free safety. He can cover his assignment in either man or zone (which noted above, Washington plays a lot of both). He is not as fluid of an athlete as you would like for a corner, but he has excellent speed to make up for any deficiencies in turning his hips.

Baker is also a physical player. He likes to stick his nose in the action on running plays and isn’t afraid to make a big hit over-the-middle. I saw him blitz several times as well and he has excellent timing, and the ability to “bend” the corner like a pass-rusher would. This led to several quarterback hits and tackles for losses (TFL).

Budda Baker is what I would describe as a football player, not just an athlete. He has the great instincts, coverage ability, physicality and athleticism to be an outstanding NFL player. This is the type of pick that you can instantly insert into almost any defensive backfield and improve over the incumbent player. I would personally be very excited if the Bears ended up with Baker.

Round 3 – Pick #3 – 67th Overall: TJ Watt – EDGE/ILB – Wisconsin

Initially, I just had TJ Watt listed as an EDGE player. Once I watched his tape, it became apparent that he was more than that, so I added inside linebacker to his position. Watt is not a flashy player by any means. He has a good motor, flashes athleticism and makes some plays, but he doesn’t “wow” you.

Watt is an excellent football player, though; he is sort of a jack-of-all-trades. He can rush the passer, defend against the run, set the edge (will need to add strength to do this in the NFL), looks natural in coverage and is a superior blitzer. Watt does all of the little things that make the players around him better.

He is a player that you can move around the defense to fill a variety of roles. He has good length and size but just needs to add some more strength and technique to truly become a great player at the next level. His football intelligence should carry him through his rookie year as a role player. After he builds strength and adds technique, he can be used similarly to how Clay Matthews has been used in Green Bay. I am not sure his ceiling is quite that high, but he can certainly be used in a similar type of role for the Bears.

Round 4 – Pick #4 – 111th Overall: Jake Butt – Tight End – Michigan

Jake Butt: funny name, serious prospect.

Let me first get this out of the way, Butt will likely not play his rookie season. He is currently rehabbing a torn ACL, which has kept him out of the Combine and limited him at Michigan’s Pro Day. Since the tear came in the Orange Bowl, it is very likely that he would start the season on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.

Butt, as a prospect, is quite exciting. I have seen comparisons to Zach Miller and while I do understand that comparison, that is not the player I am reminded of when watching his tape. A different (ex-)Bears tight end comes to mind: Greg Olsen. Butt is not quite as athletic as Olsen, but he shows the ability to be a very solid route-runner, with soft hands and an excellent feel for finding holes in zone coverage.

The reason I really like Jake Butt’s game though is his blocking. The knock on tight ends this size (6’6”, 250 pounds) is always their inability or their desire to block. Coming from Michigan and playing for Jim Harbaugh, Butt had no choice but to be a good blocker. He could use a little work on technique, but he is adequate and shows the desire needed to excel as a blocker. After a “redshirt” year in the NFL, Butt could be the perfect replacement for Miller and would pair well with Dion Sims.

Round 4 – Pick #10 – 117th Overall: Josh Reynolds – Wide Receiver – Texas A&M

Josh Reynolds was a very difficult player to get an accurate read on. First off, wide receivers are tough to watch without having “all-22” film since you tend to miss much of their route. Secondly, the Texas A&M quarterback situation has been atrocious at times since Reynolds has been there. Despite all of that, he still managed to put up very consistent numbers in his 3 seasons.

There is a lot to like about Reynolds but obviously, he wouldn’t still be on the board in the fourth round if there weren’t some questions as well. I think the biggest question mark is his hands or perhaps, a lack of concentration. He also lacks top-end speed, having run a 4.52 40-yard dash at the Combine.

Speed isn’t Josh Reynolds’ game though, size is. At 6’3” and 194 pounds, he is the prototypical go-up-and-get-it WR. He just seems to have that knack for “high-pointing” the ball and making big catches over smaller defenders. If that sounds familiar, that’s because it is. He has a lot of Alshon Jeffery in his game – more so the Jeffery coming out of South Carolina than the Chicago Bear. If things click for Reynolds in the NFL, he can be an elite big-body receiver, I have no doubt about that.

Round 5 – Pick #3 – 147th Overall: Noble Nwachukwu – EDGE – West Virginia

Noble Nwachukwu is a powerful man. He plays violently with tremendous strength but somewhat limited athleticism. It can be difficult to take a 4-3 DE and project him as a stand-up 3-4 OLB but that is exactly the type of switch that should benefit Nwachukwu.

Nwachukwu’s incredible strength allows him to play the strong side outside linebacker on base downs to set the edge on running plays. He consistently pushes Offensive Lineman into the backfield and is very disruptive to the timing of running plays. He has the bend and speed to chase down running backs from the back-side.

Nwachukwu’s pass rushing can use a little work. He is mainly a bull-rusher, using his strength and a good club-move to get the offensive lineman off balance. He then bulldozes them straight back. That type of move has its uses but in the NFL, he needs a counter-move to compliment the club. Moving to edge rusher should help give him the extra step or two he needs to build up speed on his pass rush.

Noble Nwachukwu has the potential to become a beast of a player. He would sit most of his Rookie year and gain experience as a situational player. If he can learn to harness that strength and explosion while adding some moves to his arsenal, there is no reason he cannot become a Pernell McPhee-type of player at the next level.

Round 7 – Pick #3 – 221st Overall: Zane Gonzalez – Kicker – Arizona State

I can honestly say that I have never watched tape of a kicker before. Why would you?

After the Bears cut Robbie Gould loose, it became apparent that this was a position that needed to be addressed. Kickers can often be found on the street or as undrafted free agents. However, not all kickers are Zane Gonzalez. ​

As I watched Gonzalez lineup for his FBS record-setting kick against UCLA, one thing immediately caught my eye: his demeanor. He was cool, calm and collected. This was the biggest kick of his life and he nailed it.

One of the biggest knocks I have always had on Gould is that he didn’t seem to have a predictable ball flight. This wasn’t really necessary as Gould is one of the best kickers by percentage of made field goals in NFL history. Gonzalez on the other hand, has a very consistent draw (a right-to-left ball flight, for those non-golfers out there) and he seems to play it very well.

Given the need for a consistent kicker in a home stadium like Soldier Field, where the wind tends to swirl, it is important to have a strong kicker. The fact that he has such a consistent ball flight is the reason to spend a seventh-round pick on him. Zane Gonzalez can be that steadying force for a team that generally plays between five to eight games outdoors and in the cold. Paired with the bruising style of Jordan Howard and an up-and-coming defense, this pick is a serious value for the Bears.
