Unstoppables AU Valentine's

No one asked, but here's what everyone in my AU is doing for Valentine's Day.

Ron and Bonnie are having a quiet night in. Ron made food, Bonnie picked up some movies and arranged for someone to watch Rufus and Debutante.

Monique and Tara are going out for dinner.

Wade and Olivia are going to a movie.

Yori explains to Will that, in Japan, Valentine's Day is for girls to confess to their crush, and if the feelings are reciprocated, they get them a gift a month later on White Day. Will says she can take him out then, and he'll take her out a month later.

Felix and Zita are gaming. They both put surprises in the game for the other one to find.

Brick, Josh, and Justine are participating in a trivia night at a local pub.

Gil, Amelia, Larry, Joss, Patti, and Artie are having a "singles party" at Larry and Joss's apartment. Patti's only there because her parents wanted the house to themselves for the night, and Artie's only there because his dad had a date.

Drakken made a nice dinner and dessert for Shego. Her surprise for him is for later in the evening.

The only way Jack was able to take Betty on a date for Valentine's Day was to lead her on a chase that ends in a date.

Grim: Hoho, Sebek! Are you here to join us at our table?

Sebek: Hmph! No! I'm... waiting for Waka-sama and Lilia-sama to arrive.

MC: Hornton said that he and Lilia were going somewhere to sightsee, and they took Silver with them.

Sebek: Hornton... Human! Why are you still calling my liege by that nickname?!

MC: Because we're pals??

Grim: Yeah! What's wrong with calling him 'Hornton'? Myahaha! He's no longer scary now!

Sebek: What do you mean by that, Grim?! My liege is still as powerful and elegant as ever! That hasn’t changed, even with one of his horns damaged!

Ace: Geez, calm down, dude.

Deuce: And you should sit your ass down. Everyone's looking at us.

Sebek: ...

Sebek: Hmph. *takes a seat next to MC and Grim*

Epel: By the way, MC? Have you started writing your speech yet?

Epel: Eh?

Jack: You're going to give a speech about your adventures in the dream world. Didn't the headmage inform you?

Crowley: Royal Sword Academy and Noble Bell College are eager to hear about it from you in person. Doesn't that make you happy?

MC: No, not really. Besides, I have more important thing to do.

Crowley: Is it about 'Mickey'?

MC: Yes.

Crowley: Hmm... How about this? If you complete this task, I will personally ask Principal Ambrose to help you research a way back.

MC: Do you actually expect me to believe that?

Crowley: Why not?

MC: You neglected your promise for more than six months, didn’t try to save me when the vines dragged me, and you forced us to take the exams without showing any form of consideration.

Crowley: ...

Crowley: I am a busy person—

MC: During the winter holidays, you went on vacation while Grim and I were held hostage in Scarabia.

Crowley: ...

MC: Want me to keep going?

Crowley: ...No.

Malleus: You're back. *was playing with Grim*

Grim: Hench-human! Take the brush away from him! He's gonna make me bald!

Malleus: Doesn't it feel soothing to you?

MC: Thank heavens she isn't as grumpy as you.

MC: Nothing! You're going to translate those ancient texts, right?

Malleus: *chuckles* I don't know. Maybe you should beg?

MC: What— That's unfair!

Rise of the Guardians doesn’t lend itself to a sequel.

But if they made one, the villain should be The Pied Piper. And instead of endangering kids’ childhood using fear, like the Boogeyman, The Piper would endanger childhood by causing strife with the parents, making the kids feel like they don’t belong in their own homes.

Plus he’s enticing kids with wanderlust, which sounds fun, so he starts to feel like the photo-negative of Jack Frost and definitely tries to outdo him in terms of style and flamboyant charm. And maybe because he knows “memories of childhood” would be a big threat to his work on the parents, the Piper straight-up kidnaps Tooth Fairy (since kidnapping the fairies themselves didn’t work out for Pitch)

And then you can have Bunnymund and Jack Frost fighting armies of super rats and Sandman trying to hold his sand-constructs together as the Pied Piper’s musical vibrations destabilize them, and then North seems to be the only one who’s a match for the Piper in group showdowns, until the Piper summons his chief hench-rat and it’s the Mouse King from the Nutcracker

sypnosis: Some daily interactions between you and Grim, platonic of course. This feels like a found family situation, very familial love.

Since you still lack money to refurbish Ramshackle, you and Grim sleep in the same bed. You get 30% of the bed space, and the rest is for Grim. On rare occasions, when it gets super warm, Grim will sleep on your face because he claims it feels cooler, while you're having difficulty breathing underneath him. Ace gets the opportunity to see you with new, weird bed hair each day, and he gets a kick out of it.

When you buy groceries and cook in Ramshackle, Grim is either hovering around and pestering you, telling you he's hungry, or he's on the floor tugging at your pants, asking you when the food will be ready. If you're eating at the cafeteria, you have to eat fast; otherwise, Grim will be gobbling down your food too. Jack always reminds you to eat slower in fear of choking. (You do quite often, sadly.)

You're having class together? Grim is sitting on your lap, and he keeps getting distracted. It's like having a kid with ADHD, except it's a talking cat who resorts to setting fires too easily. Oftentimes, your pocket money goes to fixing whatever Grim has broken, and when you scold him for it, he gets upset and sulks for a bit. He hates it when you scold him because, although he never says it, he actually loves you a lot. It's up to Jack or Epel to find him and attempt to cheer him up, so you won't worry about him anymore.

All in all, the two of you love each other in a familial manner, and if you ever leave NRC, Grim would be absolutely heartbroken and inconsolable. No amount of tuna could ever make him stop crying or thinking about you, and he won't ever be his cheery, carefree self as long as you're not with him. (He needs his emotional support Hench-human)

Stargazing with Jack

The days leading up to Valentine’s at Night Raven College had been a blur of pink decorations, heart-shaped sweets, and a lot of over-the-top confessions. You'd seen at least three people try (and fail) to confess to Vil, another three fall victim to Floyd's teasing, and Ruggie somehow turn the holiday into a business venture.

But all that aside, you had one person on your mind.

Jack Howl.

The tall, silver-haired beastman had been your closest friend for a while now. He was reliable, loyal, and had a quiet sort of kindness that you always admired. And if your heart beat just a little faster whenever he was around—well, that was your business.

Tonight, you were going to ask him to be your Valentine.

What you didn’t know was that Jack had the same plan.

And he had some very enthusiastic helpers.

“Alright, that should be the last of it!” Deuce wiped his forehead as he set down a blanket in the clearing Jack had chosen. “Man, setting up a whole stargazing date is way more work than I thought.”

“You’re telling me,” Ace huffed, standing beside him. “Do you know how hard it was sneaking those extra snacks from Heartslabyul? Riddle almost caught me!”

“Probably because you were being suspicious,” Epel pointed out, smirking. “But hey, it’s all worth it if Jack actually confesses.”

Jack groaned, ears flattening. “It’s not a confession, alright? I just… wanted to do something nice.”

Sebek crossed his arms, nodding. “Hmph! A noble gesture, indeed! A proper warrior should always take charge of their courtship!”

“...Not sure I’d call it that, but whatever,” Jack muttered, his tail flicking in irritation. “Anyway, you guys helped, so you better not go blabbing about this.”

Ace grinned. “Ohhh, don’t worry, Wolf Boy. We wouldn’t dream of embarrassing you.”

Deuce shot him a look. “Ace, don’t.”

Epel chuckled. “Well, good luck, Jack. If this works out, you owe us.”

Jack exhaled, looking over their setup. The blanket, the snacks, the perfect view of the night sky—it was all ready. Now, all he had to do was not mess it up.

Easier said than done.

Before Jack could go find you, there was one last obstacle in his way.

Grim.

The little cat—ahem, great mage—stood in front of Jack with his paws on his hips, tail twitching.

“Alright, dog breath,” Grim said, squinting up at him. “I know you’re takin’ my hench-human on this whole fancy-schmancy date thing.”

Jack crossed his arms. “Yeah? And?”

Grim narrowed his eyes. “If ya hurt ‘em—even a little—I’m gonna burn your tail off.”

Jack blinked. “...You serious?”

“Dead serious.”

There was a tense beat of silence. Then Jack smirked, crouching down to look Grim in the eye.

“You really care about them, huh?”

Grim huffed. “Duh! They’re mine.”

Jack chuckled, ruffling the fur on Grim’s head before the little beast could swat him away.

“Relax, I’m not gonna hurt them,” Jack promised. “They mean a lot to me too.”

Grim studied him for a moment before crossing his arms. “Hmph. Good answer. Now go, before I change my mind and crash your date.”

Jack smirked. “Yeah, yeah.”

With that, he turned on his heel, his heart hammering in his chest.

Time to find you.

Jack found you waiting for him outside Ramshackle Dorm, his tail flicking anxiously behind him. That was odd—Jack was rarely nervous.

“Jack?” You tilted your head. “Everything okay?”

He cleared his throat, ears twitching slightly. “Yeah, just… uh, I wanted to ask you something.”

Your heart did a little flip. Was he—?

“Oh! Actually, I had something to ask you too,” you blurted.

Jack blinked. “Huh?”

You both stared at each other, momentarily stunned, before speaking at the exact same time:

“Will you be my Valentine?”

There was a beat of silence.

Then, you both stiffened, eyes widening as realization sank in.

“Wait—what?”

“You—you were gonna—?”

Jack’s ears flattened, and a deep red blush spread across his face. “Y-You go first,” he mumbled, avoiding your gaze.

You laughed, warmth bubbling up in your chest. “I think we just asked each other at the same time, Jack.”

His tail flicked, and he huffed. “Guess we did.” His expression softened, golden eyes shining under the moonlight. “…So, what do you say?”

You smiled. “I say yes.”

Jack exhaled, relief washing over his face before he gave you a rare, gentle smile. “Good. ’Cause I wasn’t gonna take no for an answer.”

Jack led you out past the dorms, to a quiet, open spot near the forest where the sky stretched endlessly above. It was breathtaking—stars scattered across the vast darkness like shards of light, glowing softly against the velvet sky.

You gasped. “Jack, this is amazing.”

He rubbed the back of his neck, ears twitching. “The guys helped set it up,” he admitted. “Figured we could stargaze. Not really into the whole ‘fancy dinner’ thing, but this felt more… us.”

You looked up at him, warmth spreading through your chest. “It’s perfect.”

The two of you lay side by side on the blanket, staring up at the endless sky. The cool night air carried the scent of pine, and the only sound was the quiet rustle of leaves in the breeze.

Jack pointed to a cluster of stars. “See that? That’s Canis Major. It’s got the brightest star in the sky—Sirius.”

You turned your head to look at him, smiling. “How do you know so much about constellations?”

He shrugged, his ears twitching. “My grandpa used to tell me about them when I was a kid. Said a true beastman should know how to find his way, even in the dark.”

“That’s… really cool,” you murmured, admiring how the starlight reflected in his golden eyes.

Jack turned his head, and suddenly, you were close. Really close.

His ears twitched, and he swallowed hard. “Uh—”

You didn’t let yourself think too much about it.

Instead, you leaned in, pressing a soft kiss against his lips.

Jack froze, his entire body tensing. But before you could pull away, his tail wagged slightly, and he kissed you back, warm and gentle.

When you finally parted, Jack's face was burning red, but he still held your gaze.

“…You sure know how to catch a guy off guard,” he muttered, ears twitching.

You grinned. “Well, we were already in sync tonight.”

Jack huffed a laugh, before exhaling deeply. Then, he took your hand, threading his fingers through yours as he gazed back up at the stars.

“Yeah,” he murmured. “Guess we were.”

And under the endless night sky, you stayed like that—hand in hand, hearts in sync, completely at peace.

Ace: Yes-yes, we are coming, it was suprisingly easy to convince the dormhead too

Ace: it's nothing, now let's hurry!

Yuu: thank you everyone for coming to this dinner, this means a lot to us

Grim: I care more for the food, but yeah-yeah... it's nice to have you guys here.... i guess

Ace: heh, what was that Grim? Are you embarrassed?

Yuu: okay! So, lets eat and then we can give each others the presents!

Epel: I'm curious what you got for the others, can you tell me?

Jack: do you mind if I bring some with me after this? Ruggie senpai would def chew my ears off if he heard how good the food was here.

Grim: a- a whole box of tuna cans!? M-mhay?! All for me?!

Yuu: yep, all of it is yours

Jack: it's a new pair of running shoes...

Sebek: *sniffle* thank you *holds a malleus plushie that has a voice recorder saying, "I appreciate you Sebek" and "My dear knight in shining armor"*

Yuu: you have no idea how hard it was to get to him on day light, so I had him say this on one of our late night walks

Yuu: yeah-yeah, now, open yours!

Deuce: ...a key? Prefect, you did not...

Yuu: come on, it wasn't my wallet. It was Crowley's. So use it with good health

Ace: now I'm really excited to know what you got me

Yuu: *opens the present, and it's framed pictures of all of them, making it look like they are a family*

Yuu: I- I don't even- how- why? This is so nice, you guys-

Yuu: *starts crying*

Ace: oh come on, hey! It- it's not that bad!

Deuce: dude! Don't make it worse! *punches Ace* Yuu, do you not like it?

Yuu: *sniffle* no, I love it. Thank you guys, I have the best family in the whole world...

Hmm I wonder if Crowley and the school staff, Riddle, Dence, Ruggie, Azul, Jamil, Epel, Rook, Idia, Malleus, Sliver and Sebek found out that some certain people skipped the school and went to the amusement park? Also how would they react?

I’d imagine they'd mostly have the pretty normal and expected initial reaction of being shocked that the others snuck out on a school night to a sketchy theme park and managed to come back from a human trafficking operation in one piece. To give a little more detail to each:

Riddle would collar Trey, Cater, and Ace, then lecture them for breaking various school rules, putting themselves in danger, disobeying his command to not sneak out and skip school, etc. He especially lays into the seniors for "not setting a proper example" for the Heartslabyul students.

Deuce awkwardly stands off to the side and watches as they get berated, occasionally nodding and going, "That's right!" in response to their dorm leader. (Ace gets annoyed and tells Deuce off, probably saying something like, "Don't act like YOU weren't interested in going earlier, dummy!")

Ruggie wails about how he would've enjoyed hanging out at a place that offers free everything. He makes jokes to cope with the situation, like poking fun at how the "straight-laced" Jack has a rebellious streak and how Leona's soooo responsible and selfless for chasing after his juniors. Ruggie also jokes about how he's glad his walking wallet "best" employer Leona-san made it back safely... and hey, he wouldn't have happened to have brought back a souvenir for his ever-so loyal hench-hyena, would he?

Azul tries to present as cool and uncaring to the twins; he tells them that if they fucked up and lost their autonomy because of their poor decisions and giving into their curiosity... well, that's their bad and they deserve the consequences of their actions. Jade and Floyd pal around with him, draping themselves over his shoulders and teasing him about how "It's okaaay, just admit that you missed us, admit that you were worried!" Deep down, Azul really was (but he'll never say that out loud and let the twins have an upper hand over him).

Jamil has a fucking heart attack knowing just how close he was to a dead and/or missing Kalim. Not because he cares or anything, but because his own ass would be grass if anything happened to Kalim. Jamil looks him over like five times to make sure not a hair on his head is harmed (all while Kalim is laughing, reassuring Jamil that he's fine, and telling him stories about all the fun times he had at Playful Land). When Kalim starts to suggest inviting Fellow and Gidel to their next banquet, Jamil silences him with a firm, "ABSOLUTELY NOT!!"

Rook waxes poetic about how he's so relieved that their beautiful Vil has returned to them. He'll faithfully fetch Vil whatever he needs to rest and recover from such a heart-pounding adventure!

Epel grumbles about how he wishes he could have gone too ("'N shown those puppets what fer!!"), only to get bonked and told off by his dorm leader. (Ace will tell him stories later, which makes Epel super envious.)

Idia tells Ortho that "touching grass" does them no good, it only brings misery and suffering like what he went through at Playful Land! The worry dies down and is replaced with keen interest the more Ortho tells him about the island's operations. They have a jammer that prevented Ortho's normal functions from working? Idia takes it as a personal challenge--who do they think they are, trying to trump this genius inventor? He'll show them what he's made of by powering up his little brother!

Sebek loudly insists they need to go and dismantle the shadowy organization responsible for attempting something so foolish as to entrap and sell THE Lilia Vanrouge off! Who do they think they are?! Man's absolutely appalled and enraged but also choking back tears at what he perceives is Lilia's nobility, so willing to throw himself into the heat of battle to save others!! Sebek tells Ace he should be "grateful" that Lilia saw it fit to save "such a pathetic lot of humans" from absolute destruction.

Silver frets over his father, but he's ultimately proud of him for acting the role of a reliable senpai and looking out for his underclassmen. (This is the reason he assumes for Lilia going to the shady park.) And, of course, he's glad to have his father back home with him. He insists on looking after him the day of his return, saying that Lilia has gone through a lot lately--and as the triumphant hero, he deserves to relax!

Malleus isn't worried about Lilia (he knows that Lilia can handle himself just fine) so much as he's disappointed that he wasn't invited to go along. He's curious about all that Lilia experienced in Playful Land and listens to his tales with wide eyes. Malleus is not really paying attention to the dangers present (after all, he is confident he could blow it all away if it dares to encroach on his autonomy). Lilia laughs and says they should take a trip to another amusement park sometime.

The staff would be collectively sad that their students would act out like they have. This is especially true of Trein, who is more disappointed than mad. He chastises the boys in a way that makes you feel bad for making like... a grandfather upset. He wonders if he has somehow mentored his students incorrectly or instilled the wrong values in them.

Crewel expresses his disappointment in a different way. He's harsher with his students: "Since you bad boys thought it fit to skip Crewel-sama's lecture, you must have already mastered the materials. Pencils out for a pop quiz!" That's his tough love out on full display, stemming from the desire to ensure that his students can survive on their own out there in the cruel wide world.

Vargas tries to not linger on the negative feelings for too long. He'll encourage the boys to get back on their feet and moving. Movement means more blood circulation, and less of a reminder of the stiff puppets the kids almost turned out to be. Vargas never vocalizes his intentions for fear that him having a negative outlook might influence his students. So instead, he wears a grin and belts out a hearty laugh to keep their spirits high.

Sam will listen to his customers' woes, just as any good shopkeep would! There's a lot of useful information to pick apart from the people who drift in. A strange business like Playful Land? It piques Sam's interest in the mysterious and the unknown--he's delighted with such fantastical tales, and invites his customers to tell more. Sam's always here to lend an ear! And hey, if you get thirsty from all the gabbing, why not buy a drink from the Mystery Shop since you're already there? :)

Crowley wipes his brow and sighs in relief... What could have been a massive PR nightmare was just narrowly avoided!! (He still crows at the students that snuck off though, since he's suuuuuch a caring instructor that deeply cares about their education!!)

The Great Grim's generalized reaction/unofficial tier list:

Sebek- (sebek/10) At this particular point in time Sebek and Grim are trapped in an endless showdown to see who can be the bigger baby. Something Sebek wins when he is revealed as Yutu's dad and he begins wailing at the thought of being a knight with a family. Grim isn't too sure what to make of this, is there tuna in Briar Valley? He thinks there's tuna in Briar Valley... and Sebek! Yutu is more like his hench human anyway that's what matters anyway.

Ace- (-10000/10) As established, he's beyond disappointed in all three of you. Ace sucks, he has negative rizz and is going to be needlessly smug about this. Are you sure it isn't too late to change your mind hench human? He's sure there are other options, less ginger and less cringe, please have some self respect.

Deuce- (0/10) slightly better than Ace but only slightly. Do you just like dumb guys? There are less offensive ones somewhere probably. He's pretty sure this level of dumb could be contagious, for all you know it could bring your grades down too! And that's already his job!

Jack- (5/10) Grim doesn't have too many negative opinions about Jack. Sure he could have more money and be less invested in getting to to work out but he feels very safe around him. And doubly safe around his Yutu, even if he thinks they could stand to lighten up a whole bunch.

Epel- (10/10) He has a farm with the best apples Grim has ever tasted, he's 100% on board with this match. He's looking forward to moving in with the in laws and finally being allowed to take a crack at that sled race. He's sure the three of you will be able to handle all the hard work for him, he'll make sure to practice his supervising while he waits for Yutu to be born.

In this the mc is depress because it seems like everyone forgotten their birthday and they didn't get an interview, a gift from a student or even gotten the dorm decorated, which leads her sadden but doesn't say anything and the boys feels guilty on learning what happen and try to make it up, upon learning they never celebrated their birthday at all.

Happy Birthday Dear Prefect! (F! Reader)

When you first found yourself in Twisted Wonderland, you didn't know what to do with that piece of information or yourself. All you wanted was to go back to your world and end the adventure that was forced upon you. Since then, a lot of time has passed. You made some friends for life, who really feel like a new family at times– yeah, minus the disastrous parts.

Maybe that's why when everyone forgot your birthday it stung. But you weren't going to make a fuss over that. You ate your lunch quietly as Ace and Deuce bickered like always. These days, Jack, Epel and even Sebek joins you guys at times. In a nutshell, not a day goes by without the boys being chaotic.

It was Ace who noticed the sad look on your face.

"Hey (Y/N), why the long face?"

Everyone quieted down fast after that and suddenly you were the center of their attention.

"Are you feeling unwell (Y/N)?"

Deuce asked in worry.

"No, guys, it's nothing, don't worry."

"Then... wait... I feel like we are forgetting something important here!"

Deuce frowned.

"Huh... Wait, no, I just remembered... Prefect, isn't today your birthday?"

You sucked in a breath and the gears in their seemed to turn.

"OMG! I'm so sorry!"

"Myahhhh— hench-human, it's your birthday?!"

"There's no time to be sorry, Loosey-Deucey. We gotta decorate ramshackle and invite everyone and give our gifts— we have no time to waste!!!"

Ace was clearly panicking. You couldn't even get a word out. Suddenly, Deuce got up from his seat and yelled

"ATTENTION EVERYBODY! IT'S OUR PREFECT'S BIRTHDAY. ALL OF YOU ARE INVITED!!!"

He ignored the bewildered looks, the others shot at him and sat back down.

"No need for invitation cards anymore."

Later, after all of you were done with school, Ace and Deuce took it upon themselves to decorate the whole dorm.

"Guys, it's fine really—

"No, it's not fine!!"

"Myahhhh, what do we do with this balloons?!"

"You kids need a hand?"

You were startled by the new voice. You looked around and saw Jack, Ruggie and Leona standing there. When did they even come in? Who even left the door open?

"Huh, you will never get done with anything this way. Let the experienced step in."

Leona smirked and the others snickered.

"Do I get to have a say in this?"

"Nope, herbivore."

Ruggie was cleaning the table when a thought struck him.

"Wait, it's a birthday party. So, what about the birthday cake?"

"Trey said he will bring one, don't worry!"

Ace answered.

"Well, well, well. Everyone is worried about the decoration? What about the prefect? You wound me folks."

It was Vil. Wait... Vil?

"I told them to come (Y/N)!!"

Epel smiled at you.

"How can we not attend mon trickster's birthday?"

Rook chimed in.

"Come with me, sweet potato. Let's prepare you."

You could only nod as Vil dragged you upstairs. You could no longer understand what was going on. From no one remembering your birthday to suddenly the chaos— you couldn't wrap your head around it.

By the time Vil finished, you could hear so many voices from downstairs.

"There you go, my princess. You look absolutely stunning tonight. Tonight, may all eyes turn to look at you in wonder."

He kissed your forehead softly before stepping away.

"Thank you... Vil."

You were truly grateful. You couldn't help but smile brightly.

"Let's go now."

With that, the two of you headed downstairs.

"Hello, guys!"

All heads turned to look at you and you were surprised to see so many familiar people. Even Idia and Malleus were there!

"Oh my God! You look absolutely gorgeous!!"

"Y-you look cool, prefect."

"Oh my, our prefect looks so fine tonight."

"You are as beautiful as ever, child of man."

"You look ethreal, dear."

Endless compliments flied your way. All of your friends were there and you couldn't be happier.

"How about we cut the cake now?"

Trey chuckled.

"Yes!"

You cut the cake and the other chanted happy birthday. The way you felt couldn't be expressed with words. After the cake was cut and shared with everyone, the guys wished you again and gave you their gifts. Then, suddenly

"Wait, everyone. It's our prefect's birthday. She needs to give us a speech!"

Cater spoke up.

"Guys, I—

"No! Cater is right!"

"Say something for us (Y/N)!"

"Please!"

"No need to be afraid!"

"(Y/N), (Y/N), (Y/N)!!!!"

Well, you couldn't say no anymore. The way they were looking at you, it made you feel so warm and fuzzy inside.

"Alright! Alright, everyone! I will!"

Ortho handed a microphone to you as people started to quiet down.

"First of all, I would love to thank everyone who came here to celebrate my birthday. I will especially thank my best friends Ace, Deuce and Grim. Leona, thank you for stepping up to help us. Trey, thank you for making me this beautiful cake. Vil, thank you so much for helping me dress up. Azul, Jamil, thank you for helping out with the food. All the others— Jack, Epel, Riddle, Cater, Idia, Ortho, Ruggie, Jade, Floyd, Rook, Kalim, Silver, Sebek, Lilia and Malleus! Thank you, all of you! When I first found myself in Twisted Wonderland, all I wanted to do was go back. But, because all of you, I found great friends— a big family here. Yes, there are bad times, but with you guys by my side, I don't care. With you all, I want to continue my journey here. With you guys... I know I will never be alone...I know, everything will be fine..."

As people clapped and cheered, you knew everything will turn out well despite a bunch of problems you might face.

KP OC: Eve Batter

Based on this ask post I made. I wanted to draw out what I had in mind for Eve :)

Personality wise I think she's in the leagues of Bonnie qua cattiness. Bonnie likes her because she's rich and anyone is better than Kim, right? She soon regrets it as Eve doesn't aknowledge her existence and maybe even call her out for being a suck-up. Aside from that, Eve 'flirts' with Ron in order to get friction going within team Possible. Ron getting blindsided by the popular new girl giving him attention, saying that Kim might be jealous; Kim denying she's jealous etc. (Basically Eric but reversed). The only thing that I can imagine would be a weakness is Eve having to admit she has flaws. She's good at hiding them. I think it's kinda like Kim in the 2019 movie: "If I am not good at THIS then who am I?" type of deal. Since she's basically raised to be the perfect henchman/villain type of role in the Hench family.

I'm not really thinking of writing an indepth description because I don't think I'll end up using her for anything (I also don't have big KP projects in mind to use her in) but it's fun to try out making an OC. Haven't done that in a loooong time. Maybe she'll pop up in the background in some illustrations, who knows.

In a Blink - Leona x Reader

I fucking slow blinked at a video of a cat slow blinking, so I had to write this story because I would fucking do this. I can't control it anymore. Written in the span of a few hours and on the spur of the moment.

Premise: Slow blinking at big kitty

               I carry two trays across the loud, chattery room. Several of my first-year friends are sitting around a table, already digging into their lunches. I greet them as I take my seat and my feline partner and I dig in. There’s never a dull moment with these guys and the Heartslabyul boys are already, comically in the midst of an argument when we join them with Jack mediating and Epel being no help at all.

               “What do you think?”

               Ace turns the conversation on me.

               “Ace, listen to me. There is no world in which you can take on a bear and live.” I point to the Pomfiore student. “You can’t even take Epel, let alone Jack.”

               Ace and Epel frown. Suddenly, the hierarchy of muscle comes into question as my boys break back into the heated discussion.

               My gaze shifts as I laugh. That’s when those intense eyes snare me—scrutinizing, bored, unblinking.

               Leona Kingscholar is a force to be reckoned with. His social status could have me removed from his vicinity with a single word. Hell, he could easily just get rid of me himself with all that power and wit he’s got. Pushing my luck is putting it lightly when I imposed on Savanaclaw while dealing with Azul and his henchmen. I had a direct hand in the events that lead to him exposing his deepest scars. My very first meeting with him started with me treading on his tail. A powerful man in almost every aspect with several reasons to loathe me, I should be cowering beneath his watch.

               But he tolerates me. I can’t call us friends, but I’m not afraid of Leona. I can walk by without flinching. Sometimes I ask him what plants I’m looking for when Professor Crewel sends me to the botanical gardens. Even when I was purposely keeping him up all night to convince him to help me get Ramshackle back, we just talked. Half of it may have been “Why are you so annoying?” and “I would throw you off the balcony if it wasn’t so much effort”, but there were some other words in there too. Point is, he could mess me up but I’m not worth the effort. And I take that as a win.

               Without thinking, I tilt my head and let my eyelids slowly fall.

               Immediately, fire surges into my ears at the devious smirk that stretches his lips. A hand flies to my mouth.

               I’ve made a mistake.

               From Grim I picked up the habit of slow blinking. Though the little dire beast is likely unaware of his instinctual message, the first time I blinked back, he was ecstatic. That day, I couldn’t go anywhere without him following and chattering away. Thus I began to return and initiate the gesture whenever Grim and I made eye contact—just a little message to say “I like you.” Soon enough, that little action became ingrained in my daily life and I’d find myself doing it to friends. Thankfully, they seemed unaware that I was even doing such silly things.

               But Leona knows.

               That smile screams that he’s fully aware of my implied message though I only did so out of silly habit. I’m mortified. Nobody was supposed to know—even Grim doesn’t consciously know that I do this. But of course I had to slow blink at the one freaking feline beastman that would know what I was doing. More than anything, I want to launch myself out the nearest window than face the humiliation he can wrought.

               “Isn’t that right, hench human?” Grim’s voice jerks my attention back to my friends.

               The noise falls from my mouth. “Huh?”

               Epel leans closer. “Are you okay? Your face is as red as an apple on my family’s farm.”

               “Do you want me to carry you to the nurse?” Jack offers.

               “N-No! I’m fine!” I stammer.

               I miss Deuce’s comments that gets them back into their discussion, but my head is still scrambling around my embarrassment. My gaze once again finds the lion prince. Still he stares with that smile that clamps down on my heart.

               Then his stare breaks, slow, steady, and intentional.

               My panic comes to a grinding halt. Suddenly that smile I thought to be a death sentence seems more genuine. I’m utterly baffled. Maybe he doesn’t just tolerate me.

               Maybe we are friends.

               With that, the lion picks up his tray and walks away as if nothing at all had happened.

               “Yo, what areyou looking at?” Ace turns in his seat, trying to see my point of view.

               Oh I can’t tell him. I can’t tell anyone. Otherwise everyone will know of my silly habit and I’ll get so much flack for it. Leona knows this. Maybe we aren’t friends. Maybe I’m prey. Whatever it is, I’m now confused as hell.

               “It’s nothing!” I snap.

               “Are you sure you’re okay?” Deuce asks. “You shouldn’t push yourself if you’re not feeling well.”

               Groaning, I let my burning face fall into my hands.

               Maybe I should still jump out the window.

Now that I think about it I actually do remember Cozi mentioning your Megara OC/yuy was yours and just forgot! 😭 My apologies 😅

Buuuuuuut…now that I know who the owner is, may I ask for some lore on your oc and what her relationship is like with the other NRC cast?

It’s no problem at all! Cozy and I have been collaborating together for years so there is a lot of overlap. She’s the designer of Katerina, but she helped some with characterization too, just as I pitch in sometimes with Tia and the boys!

I’m sorry I don’t have any fun visuals to accommodate this and it’s just words BUT hopefully it’ll be an interesting read. 

It will be under read more so I don’t bother everyone, OKAY LETS GO!

Grim-  Starts off as a sort of Meg with Pain + Panic type of dynamic where they make little digs at each other and argue in petty ways. Obviously they both genuinely care about each other and are protective in their own ways. That's her lil guy, and she is HIS hench-human who he must protect at all costs.

Ace + Deuce- Best friends #1 and #2, at first they both treat her like she can't do anything herself because she 1. doesn't have magic 2. is a girl (who is still taller than them but still.) Her intellect, though often coming off as sarcastic in her advice, and her fencing abilities prove that she isn't some helpless magicless girl make their friendship feel more equal. They're basically her little brothers now. They still walk on either side of her around school just so the other students don't get any funny ideas.

Riddle- She and Riddle have similar moms (I changed up her upbringing after reading Go The Distance by Jen Calonita) Kat's mom isn't as abusive as Riddle's, but incredibly overbearing and imposing because she wants her daughter to live a successful life. This is a theme with her and the other over blotters, but she empathizes with him and the two of them get along well. I think the moment between Yuka and Riddle in Book 2 manga where Riddle fixes Yuka's outfit for her feels very them too.

Cater and Trey- Basic cordial relationship, no complaints there besides annoyance at their previous complacency in Riddle's overbearing rules

Leona- She's a strong and respectable woman. He's already ready to help her out in a pinch. He's reliable and smart. They get along well.

Jack- Another bestie. I think the two would have a good time doing exercises together. She doesn't join him for a run every day but he's good motivation to not rot in her bed on weekends.

Ruggie- She loves his hustle. Eat the rich, lil dude.

Azul- What a slime ball. She takes everything he says with a grain of salt. HOWEVER, she has been bullied in the past (not as bad as he was, but was intentionally excluded and isolated from her peers) that vulnerability is hard to show, of course he does everything he can to cover it up. If she makes a deal with him, she's sure to read the fine print and always makes good on her word so she can get out. It'd be no good if she was in debt twice.

Floyd- Called her a catfish, offending her right off the bat. However, he's tons of fun to hang out with when he's in the right move. He demanded she teach him to fence as soon as he found out she could do it. Now he calls her 'catfish' with a lot more affection. The nickname isn't so bad now.

Jade- She can't tell what he's thinking unlike his twin and Jade's teasing doesn't always sit right with her, but he knows how to behave himself. But she is gonna be looking at im like 🤨 occasionally

Kalim- OH KALIM!!! Kalim, she wants to preserve your happiness. I feel like Kat would get along really well with the light trio as a homage to Meg working for the villain but falling in love with a genuinely kind well-meaning hero. Kat definitely blends in well with typical NRC students with a healthy amount of skepticism towards the intentions of others and being admittedly pretty cut-throat when upset. She sees how Kalim made mistakes, but knows his intentions weren't bad, and she still feels a bit guilty for snapping at him so badly at Book 4 out of frustration. She doesn't want Kalim to lose the optimism he has for the world, in fact, she wishes she had that kind of joy herself. They get along pretty well...Perhaps, TOO well.

Jamil- They're literally like two peas in a pod, like a girl version of him. I imagine Kat and Jamil rant about stuff together while braiding each other's hair and whispering sarcastic remarks to each other. She has empathy for him and wants him and Kalim to turn out okay, but she doesn't impose, it's not like she understands the full extent of what they're going through but she's there to lend a helping hand, or nod and go "exactlyyy" when Jamil vents to her.

Vil- He'd want to take her under his wing. She's pretty, has modeled in the past in her original world, is literally supermodel height and is full of potential. She views him as overbearing at first and then becomes appreciative of his strength and care for his dorm mates. Sure, he gets on her for not making the best decisions with what she does with her day, but it's not so bad to get free skin and hair care stuff.

Rook- She found him off-putting at first but then grew to appreciate the fact that he finds beauty in everything...She wishes she could view the world like that. Damn light trio, making her guarded heart melt like that. His earnestness is a trait she's come to respect and surprisingly, his appreciation for her almost goes up to the same levels as Neige and Vil 😳 h-hello?? Oh he's so sad he didn't get to see the work she did in her original world...

Epel- BESTIEEEE! They're so tall queen and short king. Kat is forever grateful of everything he did for her in Book 5, from letting her squeeze the life outta him from her fear of heights when they rode a broom together to literally saving her life with his spell. They totally had mini sleepovers when she stayed in Pomefiore during Ramshackle renovations.

Idia- Oh man, the Hades/Meg dynamic right here. Her phone died and she lost all of her old game consoles and manga collection when she came to Twisted Wonderland, he saw this as an opportunity to convert someone irl into his nerd interests. He uses it as blackmail to get her to do stuff for him like run errands and junk. It's really just a stupid excuse to become more isolated and to keep her around, Kat resents him as she feels she's being used. After Book 6, he drops the act and frees her from her 'debt,' now they just hang out and play games like normal friends. He comes up with cringey nicknames to call her and Muscle Red has assumed she was his girlfriend during a gaming session between the three of them. Idia is currently planning how he, Ortho and Kat can group cosplay now that he has the confidence to do it in public with his gamer-girl friend (I cringe as I write this)

Ortho- Basically #3 bestie next to Ace and Deuce. They relationship started tied to Idia, Kat assuming that Ortho was just some robot servant Idia made, which Ortho corrected her on. She felt personally responsible for Ortho going rogue during Book 6, with her being dismissive of his role as Idia's younger brother haunting her as she never got to properly apologize. As a homage to Meg ending up in Tartarus, I had Kat personally go in there to get Grim, Idia, and Ortho as they fell. She's the one who manages to grab Ortho's memory chip before Vil drags all of them out (Kat wasn't physically changed by Tartarus since she doesn't exactly belong in that world but uh, maybe you'll find out more lol). She believes that Ortho is dead for a while and feels immense guilt over it and definitely didn't cry in her Pomefiore bed at night when they got back (she did.) So when Ortho comes BACK and also BECOMES A STUDENT she had never been so proud and happy. If she catches ANYONE trying to bully Ortho, she will fight (not that he needs it, he has a laser) and appreciates Ortho's general helpfulness. She has played video games in his new dorm room many times.

Malleus- She thinks he's odd, but in a cool and mysterious way. The two of them enjoy talking and wandering around at night. She's invited him inside Ramshackle and when he agrees a few times, she shows him some modern human stuff and they bond over the fact that they're BOTH new to twisted wonderland tech (I imagine it's close to normal tech but different in a way that there would be a learning curve). She definitely thinks he can get carried away with his magic but doesn't treat him with fear. Her stance on him is pretty identical to that of Silver and Sebek's in Book 7, she needs to stop him but also wants to save him.

Sebek- A bestie that took a while to come around. The two get into arguments, with Kat usually taking Silver's side in most small conflicts, both cause she likes Silver and also likes to spite Sebek, but Sebek comes to respect her and her ability to fight for herself. Kat sees who Sebek really is and accepts him. The two still bicker, but it's ride or die by Book 7. If there's one thing they both always agree on, it's that Silver needs to stop hating himself.

Silver- These two...I have an affection for their dynamic because I believe Silver is the closest to a twst Hercules that we have so far. Sweet, a lil air-headed, strong with a kind heart. Kat would feel similarly toward him that Meg goes toward Herc, she wants to keep him safe and she can't detect any of the typical NRCness from him. He's just genuinely a good person and it makes her soft. The two of them both train together, mostly with batons for sword fighting. Kat finds him strange and enchanting and Silver views Kat as a strong person with a talent for swordsmanship. They are each other's rock for Book 7 and I sure hope nothing bad happens to them.

Lilia- He's so weird, but charming. She already figured that he's Muscle Red from context clues but she hasn't said a word to Idia about it because it's funnier that he still doesn't know. He gives her candy for talking to his 'precious boys' and generally spoils her. Kat's father wasn't in her life but Lilia...Y'know, maybe he's what having a dad feels like.

But for some reason, this time they were really adamant about it.

Now it looks like they've put them all together in one place, organizing them by dorm.
