Kisean Paul Anderson (born February 3, 1990) known professionally as Sean Kingston, is a Jamaican-American singer and rapper. His 2007 debut single, “Beautiful Girls” reached the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, and was followed up with “Eenie Meenie” (with Justin Bieber) and “Take You There.” The singles preceded the release of his eponymous debut studio album (2007), which peaked at #6 on the Billboard 200. He followed up with his second and third albums, Tomorrow (2009)—which contained the single “Fire Burning”—and Back to Life (2013).
He was signed to producer J. R. Rotem’s record label Beluga Heights Records in 2007, but parted ways with the label after his third album and launched his label, Time Is Money Entertainment in the meantime. Through the label, he signed Canadian singer Tory Lanez in 2010.
Born in Miami, he was the first of three children born to Janice Turner. His family moved to their native Kingston when he was six. he attended Ocho Rios High School in Ocho Rios for three years before migrating back to the US. Topping the charts in 2007 with their hit "Rock Star" off the Bratz Movie soundtrack and again in 2008 with Corazon (You're Not Alone), the duo achieved success in the US as Latinas of Color; which at the time was rare. On the come up, Prima J reigned at the same time as acts such as Paula DeAnda and Kat DeLuna. Though they occupied a lane outside of R&B or reggaeton. Prima J made pop music, in both English and Spanish, that reached a mainstream American audience. Notable moments in their early career include: being on the cover of Latina magazine, recording a Spanglish cover of Alicia Key's 'No One', doing a MTV reality vlog series titled Inside Out, as well as appearing on theater screens with their cameos in the Bratz Movie. They've collaborated with the likes of JR Rotem and Colby O' Donnis, but mostly they kept it fresh and established themselves by themselves. Prima J is a great look back at what I really loved about the late 2000's music and they both have a very important place in my childhood.

I do remember having to literally pull out the original track, and its release date, to prove to a friend of mine that Jason Derulo did in fact sample it from an existing track, because I love Imogen Heap's work and specifically Hide and Seek is one of my favourite pieces. Apparently he didn't realize sampling was a thing? Despite it being a major tool of the music industry now? Idk
Anyway yeah for a sampling, especially one as extensive as in Whatcha Say, there's a lot of bureaucratic shit producers have to slog through with the sampled track's record label and production house before they can legally publish and make money off it. From my admittedly cursory googling it appears Heap was quite pleased with her end of the deal, and it seems she's actually given shout-outs to Derulo at live shows in thanks for giving Hide and Seek a "life of its own". Neither Derulo nor J. R. Rotem, who produced the track, did her dirty. Everybody followed the rules and, it would seem, everybody came out happy with the result.
But then I'm not surprised people on the internet want to demonize a black man for honest work.
friendly aggressive reminder that the “mmm whatcha say” chorus was written by imogen heap for a song of her own that came out in 2005, and jason derulo both named his own song after the chorus he sampled from her and improperly credited her in 2009.

Mi történt Avril és Rotem között?
Eddig tartott a románc?
Néhány hete Avie és Rotem teljes gőzzel posztolta a közös stúdiós fotókat, két hete azonban semmi előrelépésről szóló infót nem kaptunk az új lemezről. A szeptember elején zajlott Nickelback koncert előtt Avril feltöltött egy közös képet csenddel "Family" felirattal, röviddel azután törölte, majd közzétett egy közös fotót Rotemmel, viszont azt is leszedte az Instagramról. Három nappal ezelőtt Avril egy Smile fotóval tudatta velünk nem túl jó kedvét, tegnap Rotem leiratkozott Avril Instájáról, ma már pedig Avril sem követi a férfit, és a lájkját is eltávolította a profilképéről.
A mai nap folyamán még két új fotót kaptunk az énekesnőtől az előbb említett platformon, ami szerint új dalokhoz fogott hozzá, amelyek a képeken alapulva nem tűnnek éppen romantikusnak vagy gyengéd érzelmekkel telítetteknek.
Tehát valami biztosan történik a háttérben. Vajon Rotem és Avril a Chaddel ápolt jó viszony miatt vesztek össze, vagy Rotemnek Avril zenével kapcsolatban akadt kifogása? Akármelyik helyzet is áll fenn, a konklúziót könnyű levonni: ezért ne randizz minden pasival, akivel a munkád folyamán kapcsolatba kerülsz!
Viccet félretéve reméljük, hogy a titokzatos összeveszés nem jelenti azt, hogy Avril az egész lemezt újraírja és újraveszi, hogy 2020-ban végül kiadhassa.
