I miss Luke I need him to be more present in TWP as headmaster!!! Him and Clary’s relationship was so cute I wish we got to see that more :( ALSO do you think Mr Max Trueblood (Maryse’s brother that left shadowhunting bc he married a mundane) will make a comeback?? Anyway I would loveee to hear your thoughts and predictions on TWP!! I miss the TMI gang I want to know how they’ll be involved 😔 Literally scrambling for crumbs at this point

So glad someone is talking about Luke and Clary. I love there relationship so much. Overall I think so many of the characters in tmi become disregarded as the series goes on!!! While I don’t think Luke will be any kind of major character in TWP, i definitely think he will have some kind of role. We know Dru gets in a lot of trouble, I can also see him being present in Ash’s life one way or another. Not only is he Ash’s step grandfather (LOL) but I think Luke is someone who constantly has a positive impact on peoples lives, and I think that’s something that will be seen in TWP.

As for Maryse’s family, I’d love for them to make some kind of come back. I feel like it could be something fun. I also think it depends on the age of the kids hahah! Either way, if he does make a comeback I hope the cousin is a girl. Enough with the male cousins! I need to see another Maryse and Isabelle lightwood. However, I don’t think they will make a comeback. As Cassie said in the first book where not spending alot of time in any school or institute setting, so as for the first book I don’t think we will see them. 😭😭😭

Hmmm some thoughts an opinions on TWP??? I don’t really have any theories I’ve made up myself but I do really enjoy some other theories I’ve seen online, but I also do have some other hopes.

- TWP is loosely based on the athurian legends so I can see Dru and or Kit having an Excalibur sword.

- someone mentioned to me once of a parallel between Matthew and James as Ash to Kit and I’ve always really liked that.

- Thule!Simon making an appearance. This one is SO MEANINGFUL TO ME!!!! Imagine if our Simon lost his Clary :(. Also the fact he told Janus “I’ll kill you jace herondale” before his disappearance??? Yeah somethings cooking.

- Julian mentioned having the blackthorn sword remade, and I’d love for it to be remade into a sabre!!! And on that note, I’d love if Dru got it. I can see Dru fighting with a Sabre to honour her sister, especially since in LM it’s mentioned how they fence together.

- This ones lwokey not a prediction but I deadass need Livvy to come back like full, that’s my icon 😭😭. If not I need the final goodbye between her and Ty to be gut wrenching.

ALSOOO YESS I MISS THE TMI GANG!! When I saw that Sizzy literally got a short story in the better in black book I jumped with joy. I HOPE twp ends with Claces wedding!! A cute parallel between Jocelyn and Luke in COHF!

Job headcanon (in an AU/or future): either a doctor, or a tattoo artist/jewel designer (that cover story of hers kind of stuck with me and I like to keep the Shadowhunter aesthetic of runes in some kind of way through tattoos)

Animal shifter headcanon: I mean, a snake offers itself to her, but I lean toward birds for the Shadowhunters and there, I like to make her a peacock

Favorite canon thing about them: that she can do basically anything, I mean she is a badass fighter, she is a forensic scientist, a general scientist and kind of doctor?, she can forge weapons, what CAN'T she do!

Least favorite canon thing about them: Ironically, the same as my favorite thing, because while I can use it as "she is very talented", on a writing-level it just always came off as "we need a Shadowhunter to do x uuuh let's use Izzy" and I didn't like that, because it didn't feel like it was about her

I’m so obsessed with the lightwoods. Gabriel? iconic. Gideon? iconic. Thomas, Christopher, even Anna? still iconic. Alec, Izzy? need I say more. plus Robert had some character development. I think the only terrible Lightwood was Benedict but this family is probably the only one in this universe that actually has character development and isn’t forced on the writers as being perfect. we love for their fault and their romantic sides. I love them so much

The Mortal Instruments Pt 1/2

After reading The Last Hours, I kept thinking about the fact that I was going to read TMI and I realized that it's the first time I'm reading most of TMI since I first read it when I was 11 (for reference I turn 20 in about a month) so it's been an interesting experience. I've definitely gone through a lot of emotions reading through the first three books. But anyways here are the notes of the first three books, enjoy!

-> Izzy my og darling 😍 -> "what's this?" "A girl. Surely you've seen girls before Alec. You're sister Isabelle is one" Jace pleaseeee 😭 -> men 🙄 (p21) -> she seeing the signs of Valentines return and is freaking out (p28) reading it knowing the story is so interesting -> Magnus? -> he calls her biscuit 😭 (p26) -> why are Jace, Simon and Alec's immediate reaction to be a dick? It annoying -> oh he saw right through Isabelle (p74) -> Isabelle's reaction being "oh crap" is amazing 😭 (p110) -> this book has me so fucking stressed -> maybe this is a lesson in knocking (p118) -> also I'm 100% team Clary in this one, y'all are being assholes -> Clary throwing plates a Jace is so real, I would've smacked him a long time ago (p185) -> I'm actually gonna cry how am I not even half way through this book (p254) -> I love Magnus -> the "wait do we have to do that too" from Maia is killing me 😭 (p423) -> my thoughts exactly (p479) -> she's so excited 😆 (p516)

Current opinion: re-reading TMI as an adult has been a somewhat interesting experience. I have so much love and empathy for Clary. Now mind you, I was never anti clary but she wasn't my favorite character. Now reading how everyone treats Clary pisses me off so much. I love Isabelle, she has been my favorite character from since I first read the books, but none of them (Jace, Alec, Izzy) were nice to Clary. They didn't even try to understand what she was experiencing. Alec is the only one to get better through the first three books. After the first book, hes a lot nicer towards her but he doesn't say anything about the way Izzy and Jace (or anyone else for that matter) treats her. Anyways, I love Clary and Izzy, Jace lowkey sucks. I truly did not remember how awful pretty much all of the male characters were in these books. We'll see what happens and how I feel when I finish TMI.

I've been doing a read through of the comple Shadowhunter Chronicles up to date (I'm 1/2 way through) I've finished reading TID and TLH and I've been taking really silly notes. I've decided to post the notes I've taken thus far before I start my re-read of TMI. Just a warning, I decided to take notes midway through my re-read of Clockwork Princess so the TID notes are rather short. Anyways I'll be reposting this with my notes of each series so enjoy!
