Do you ever think about the fact that if Zim had never arrived on Earth (or had been compromised before a certain point) the Planetjackers would have 1000% wiped it, along with the entire human race, off the starmaps without a whiff of resistance or notice? Like that’s where the timeline defaults without him in the picture.

still very funny the iz wiki page on planet jackers makes NO mention of the extended fargo reference in the middle of the episode. its very explicit but apparently the iz fandom mod and fargo-watcher overlap is very small.

Dib is a fucking asshole and HE is the one preventing zadf. he keeps betraying zim, no matter who started the short-lived partnership! STOP DOING THAT DIB.

- planet jackers: dib refused to work with zim, point blank, despite zim actually being right for once and not at fault in this situation

- bolognius maximus part 1: dib infected zim by fake-complimenting him, and zim bought it super easily

- bolognius maximus part 2: right when they think they've finished the serum, dib grabs it and drinks it all, then blames zim when it doesn't work

- halloween spectacular of spooky doom: dib it was YOUR idea to team up with zim, don't just throw him to the halloweenies first chance you get

- florpus: dib. dib please. zim OPENED UP to you and was SHMOOPY and you reward him by USING HIS TECHNOLOGY TO TRY TO EXPOSE HIM YET AGAIN.

Planet Jackers and Irkens: A Relationship Between Conquerors

As I’ve said before, I find the Planet Jackers super interesting. Much like the Irkens, they are a space-faring civilization of conquerors who deliberately steal planets to hurl into their dying sun to keep it alive.

Unlike the Irkens, their motivation behind conquering planets is an act of self-preservation. While Irk just wants to have more things for themselves and power, the Planet Jackers are trying to save their home world from destruction.

However, the Planet Jackers are still a merciless group, revealing that they often pick planets with lots of living beings on them because it makes their sun burn better.

Planet Jackers are way bigger than Irkens and physically stronger too. They also have the ability to literally grab entire planets and drag them all the way to their sun.

They are a force to be reckoned with and that’s exactly why when Irkens began their conquests, they sought diplomacy with the Planet Jackers.

It’s objectively the safest option Irk could take. 

The Planet Jackers are huge, strong, have technology powerful enough to move planets, and have likely been conquering planets before Operation Impending Doom I and II even began.  

So, at some point, whoever was the current Tallest at the time made a treaty with the Planet Jackers so they could both continue their conquering in their own corners and away from conflict. 

This isn’t to say Irk wouldn’t eventually betray the Planet Jackers as they did to Vort, but clearly they aren’t in a powerful enough position to do so yet. 

As far as we can see in the series, Vortians are not interested in conquering.

Conquering is a core part of a Planet Jacker’s life and is probably how they got their name as the Planet Jackers. As I said before, it’s likely that the Planet Jackers have been stealing planets long before Irk started their conquest.

One on One? The average Irken doesn’t stand a chance in a fight against a Planet Jacker. 

The size and strength difference is staggering. Zim couldn’t even leave a dent on Oog-Ah, it was his durability and Oog-Ah’s general lack of caring that Zim even survived the encounter. 

The Planet Jackers aren’t threatened by Irkens at all. If Oog-Ah was more pissed off than he already was, he probably could have decided to kill Zim right there. 

Irk would have to really have their power secured to even consider betraying the Planet Jackers. Taking one of the planets the Planet Jackers have their sights set on could land them in huge trouble. Irkens would have to rely on their wits to get them out of that mess.

The relationship between the two seems to be decent. The Planet Jackers seem to respect the deal they made with Irkens, but one can only imagine their reaction if Irk went back on their word.

Who knows! Zim violating the agreement through this insistence on his fake mission being real could’ve landed Irk in some trouble. 

(On a side note: I respect Zim for allowing himself to get beaten bloody so that the Planet Jackers would be distracted from him freeing Earth. That is some dedication right there.)

Inktober Days 6&7 (Part 1): Career Day and Planet Jackers

I’m glad I found a piece to add Ms. Bitters to! I’ve already started the sketches for part 2 of these days but I’m trying to post at least once a day. Zim’s characterization in Planet Jackers is really interesting, and his drive to save the Earth so he can destroy it himself is.... inspiring? 3D ZIM will haunt my dreams forever though.

First of all I can TOTALLY see why this is your fave! It's an excellent ep overall and it has lots of amazing small details (see below)

Rather appropriately for a Valentine's Day ep, it has a LOT of shipping fuel:

- Literally every time the Tallest are on screen. This is PEAK rapr. HE *LIKES* SNACKS, ZIM.

- Zim and Dib work together well yet again!

- Zim and *Gaz* also work together, if that's more your ship!

- datr as well, with Dib talking to Tak and saying he's not used to people being interested in his paranormal studies!

- oh gretchen SO has a crush on dib.

The titular character herself is also excellent! 10/10 backstory for sure. I also love how it's implied she made her (absolutely badass) SIR unit as well as her ship herself. I DON'T like her hypnotic implant thingie (I hc that the wire in her head is what makes her able to hypnotize people), because..what plot purpose does it serve really?

Speaking of Tak herself..she's GOTTA be defective. I mean, she left her assigned post for what was essentially her own benefit, not the empire's. She also made her own logo, which can be seen on the giant hot dog stand for a few seconds!

Speaking of small details:

- in the beginning, the squirrels on the windowsill were actually cyborgs

- tak has a ripped drawing of zim in her locker

- in the beginning of the scene where tak shows up at zim's house, the Acne Blast Man commercial from Rise of the Zitboy is playing (excellent callback!)

- right before zim literally drops dib off, there's a second or two where they're just sitting in the Voot looking slightly happy (well, definitely not mad at each other). I *told* you this ep had shipping fuel, haha!

- when dib is running back and forth before finding the huge on-off switch, he has an ice cream cone for a little bit :D

And speaking of funny stuff, Hot Dog Stand Vendor Guy is absolutely hilarious!

I also have a hc that, because the xmas ep is after this one, in the IZ universe, Valentine's Day actually takes place on *November* 14. (The date changed at the same time as the meat thing starting.)

ALSO if zim ever confessed to dib I hc that it'd first be like that one scene in Planet Jackers where zim hesitates to ring his doorbell, then he bursts in and delivers basically the same monologue he did to tak about him choosing her as his "love-pig". You could even use the same audio and oh my god someone should make an animatic of that
