Four days before the Hamas attack, the newspaper Haâaretz published an editorial under the heading âIsraeli Neo-Fascism Threatens Israelis and Palestinians Alikeâ. One month earlier 200 Israeli high school students declared their refusal to be conscripted thus: âWe decided that we cannot, in good faith, serve a bunch of fascist settlers that are in control of the government right now.â In May, a Haâaretz editorial opined that the âsixth Netanyahu government is beginning to look like a totalitarian caricature. There is almost no move associated with totalitarianism that has not been proposed by one of its extremist members and adopted by the rest of the incompetents it comprises, in their competition to see who can be more fully full fascist,â while one of its editorialists described an âIsraeli fascist revolutionâ ticking off all items in the checklist, from virulent racism to a contempt for weakness, from a lust for violence to anti-intellectualism. These recent polemics and prognoses were anticipated by prominent intellectuals like the renowned historian of the far Right Zeâev Sternhell, who wrote of âgrowing fascism and a racism akin to early Nazismâ in contemporary Israel, or the journalist and peace activist Uri Avnery, who escaped Nazi Germany at age ten, and who, not long before his death in 2018, declared that the discrimination against the Palestinians in practically all spheres of life can be compared to the treatment of the Jews in the first phase of Nazi Germany. (The oppression of the Palestinians in the occupied territories resembles more the treatment of the Czechs in the âprotectorateâ after the Munich betrayal.) The rain of racist Bills in the Knesset, those already adopted and those in the works, strongly resembles the laws adopted by the Reichstag in the early days of the Nazi regime. Some rabbis call for a boycott of Arab shops. Like then. The call âDeath to the Arabsâ (âJudah verreckeâ?) is regularly heard at soccer matches. There is nothing new in the analogy, of course. The likes of Hannah Arendt and Albert Einstein signed a letter to the New York Times in the wake of the Deir Yassin massacre in 1948 decrying Herut (the predecessor to Netanyahuâs Likud party) as âakin in its organization, methods, political philosophy and social appeal to the Nazi and Fascist partiesâ.

The Tale of Two Cities according to Stephi and Heiko - Part 470
Since we had Part 468 for two weeks now, that shows we are definitely getting older and probably in need of some assistance soon. We are lucky to live in a time and age, in which in is easy to get some help when you are getting older.
Hence we are showing you medical supply shops this week. Here, I am not talking about pharmacy where you get your drugs but where you can buy for example sticks or walkers, aids for your home and whatnot.
The first picture shows a medical supply shop from Munich, while the second one a shop in Cologne. Often these supply shops not only sell the needed items at theirs stores but come to your home, give advice what is best suited for your needs and then deliver the supplies. Often these shops are part of a bigger chain with a widespread network that supply private people, senior residencies and hospital.
I hope that none of you is in need of such a medical supply, which is why I am not asking any questions this week.

Hi Amelie! I love the aesthetic of your game and builds. You've shared some pictures of a build named "Residences & Shops in Munich, Germany". I have been reeally in love with "multipurpose" builds with more than 1 building in a block like that. I'd like to ask, do you have any tips in building a large "block/street" like that? I'm having a hard time visualizing compatible floorplans. Would you ever be interested in sharing a bit of how you build, like a backstage view of your process? Thank you
Hello! I really appreciate your kind words! I actually answered a question on my building tips and the steps I personally take when starting a build here. In terms of building larger multipurpose lots I actually haven't built anything else like this but here are some more tips that I thought of when building my Munich shops: (these are quite specific but hopefully will still be helpful to you!)
Define the Purpose: Start by deciding the main functions of your build (e.g., apartments, clothing store, office spaces). This will guide your design choices and floorplans.
Entrance Design: Ensure each area has its own entrance. For commercial spaces, a storefront with large windows is inviting, while residential units usually have private entries.
Access: Consider how Sims will move between the different areas. Use staircases or elevators to connect each floor.
Common Areas: For apartment buildings, consider creating shared spaces like a laundry room, lounge, or outdoor area that residents can enjoy and use.
Theme and Branding: Decide on a theme for your store (e.g., clothing, grocery, bakery). This will help everything look and feel cohesive.
Display and Layout: Create displays with items on shelves or counters. Feel free to look up actual floorplans of clothing or grocery stores for realism.
Backroom Storage: Include a small storage area or backroom for employees to manage inventory. This adds realism.
Functional Space (for Offices): Design offices with functional workspaces, including desks, chairs, and meeting areas. Consider creating cubicles or open spaces based on your inspiration photo/idea.
Break Area: Incorporate a break room or lounge where employees can relax. A kitchenette with a coffee maker and snacks can make it more inviting.
Decor: Use office-related decor like filing cabinets, plants, and artwork to make the space feel professional yet comfortable.
Here is an example that might further help you:
Ground Floor: Retail store with a large display area, checkout counter, and storage in the back.
Second Floor: Offices with multiple rooms, including a reception area and meeting room. Ensure there's a small break area for employees.
Third Floor: Apartments with a mix of layouts (one-bedroom and studio units). Each unit can have a small kitchen and living area, with balconies for outdoor space.

Munich Mineral Show Sale - October 25th 2024 Rules & Procedures
Hello friends! Everyone planning to participate in the sale today, please read. This is how everything will work. Iâm posting some items I picked at the Munich gem show. I will invoice tonight and after the second day of posting. All orders placed during this multi-day sale will be combined if you buy things on different days and orders will ship next week. And please note that I will be considering all these orders open box orders unless you specify you want me to add shipping! :)
I will start posting items for sale directly here on Tumblr. To claim an item and place your order, do the following:
Reply to the post (those who are unable to reply for whatever reason can reblog) saying âsoldâ or âmine" with the quantity youâd like to claim. Itâs important you do this so we can see who claimed something first in case something sells out.
Keep a list of everything you claim (with the item number for each item). Once youâre done claiming, please message me over the instant messenger.
Include the following information in your message:
Your email address for the invoice, the country you live in (for shipping purposes - we are shipping from Austria), and the list of what you claimed (with the item numbers). Also please let me know if you want your order to be *open box* or *ready to ship*. âOpen boxâ simply means you want us to hang onto your items after you pay so that you can continue to add things from future sales so everything can be shipped together for convenience đ
Shipping to Europe is $12
Shipping elsewhere is $15
For extra-large packages, shipping is $20
Be sure to send your info at the end of the sale or whenever youâre sure youâre done claiming.
Invoicing will be done through my online shop âBekkathystâ - the invoice gets sent to your email and you get the option to pay with a PayPal account or with a credit or debit card. You donât need to have a PayPal account to pay.
Please pay as soon as possible so we can continue to shop for new inventory at the show :)
Unfortunately due to problems we have encountered before - if you claim items and then at the end of the sale and either donât respond to your invoice or never message, you will be blocked.
If you decide youâre backing out of a claim before the sale is over, message me so that I can delete your comment. Please try to avoid doing this. Thank you!
We now offer an âopen boxâ option in which you can continue to keep your order open (aka have us not ship it yet) for future sales so everything can be shipped together once youâre ready. When you send your info please donât forget to let me know if youâd like your order to be *open box* or *ready to ship*. Thank you!! đ
For all items that are marked random selection, you may make a request for a specific piece and we will do our best to honor your request, but it is not always possible. Please keep that in mind :)
Any questions? Feel free to ask! I hope youâll join us and have lots of fun!

a new fic idea Iâve been planning for a while. Pastry chef flo who doesnât know much about anything or anyone outside of his circle and jamal an upcoming bayern star who takes a liking to the resident baker. still in progress hereâs a snippet
The air outside carried the earthy tang of rain, lingering in cracks and crevices like a memory on the cobbled streets of Munich. The sky above stretched in long ribbons of grey, draping the city in a hushed stillness that felt almost sacred. Flo always liked mornings like thisâthe kind that slowed the world down just enough for him to breathe and sort everything out before the bustle of crowds came streaming in.
The patisserie felt warmer on days like this, the glow of the overhead lights making the fogged window panes appear soft and dreamlike, as if the world outside had been painted in watercolors. Inside, the air was thick with the scent of vanilla and caramelized sugar, wrapping around Flo like an old friend. It made the quiet feel less empty.
At the counter, rows of fruit tarts gleamed under the soft golden light, their glossy surfaces catching faint reflections of the room. A fresh tray of Nussecken sat cooling behind him, their chocolate-dipped edges still soft and glossy, the pieces laid out in uneven rows. Flo liked it that wayâimperfect but inviting.
He brushed the last traces of flour from his apron and glanced at the clock. Almost time to open.
Near the register, Juliane sat with one leg folded beneath her, flipping lazily through the newspaper she brought every morning from the train station. She wasnât reading it, not really. Her eyes kept drifting to the window, watching raindrops slide down the glass in slow trails.
âYou made the strudel today, right?â she asked without looking up, as if she already knew the answer.
Flo leaned back against the counter, arms crossing over his chest. âLike always. If I didnât youâd be the first to start complaining.â
She peeked over the top of the paper, a sly smile tugging at her lips. âAt least you know me well.â
There was a beat of silence until the bell over the door chimed softly, cutting through the low hum of the patisserie.
Floâs eyes flicked up by instinct, but the man who stepped inside wasnât a regular. He was tall, with dark curls half-hidden beneath a cap pulled low over his forehead. His jacket looked slightly too big for him, hands shoved deep into the pockets. He hesitated just inside the entrance, dragging the bottom of his boots over the welcome doormat to dry off the remnants of the outside weather. His eyes scanned the room like he wasnât sure if he belonged here.
Tourist, Flo thought. They drifted in sometimes, especially when the rain chased people off the main streets.
âMorning,â Flo greeted, stepping behind the register flattening the tail of his apron.
The guyâs gaze lingered on the pastry case, narrowing slightly as if trying to decipher what was behind the glass.
âMorning,â he said after a beat, his German accentedâjust enough to catch Floâs ear. âUh⌠Iâll take whateverâs good.â
Flo raised a brow, shifting his weight against the counter. âThatâs not how this works. You have to pick.â If you asked Flo, everything in the shop was good.
The guy let out a soft laugh looking away at the sweet items and meeting Floâs gaze for a second. âYeah, see, the thing is⌠I donât know what half of these are. I just want something sweet.â
Juliane lowered her paper slowly, watching the exchange with poorly hidden amusement.
Flo suppressed a sigh, leaning over the display case. He tapped the glass lightly, pointing to the neat row of pastries. âStart simple. Apfelstrudel, Nussecken, or Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte if youâre feeling brave.â
The guyâs head tilted slightly, eyes catching on the tarts. âIâll take⌠one of those.â
Flo glanced up. âThe Himbeertarte?â
I donât know. The red one.â
Floâs lips twitched despite himself. âRight. One red tart, coming up.â
Julianeâs quiet chuckle didnât escape him as he boxed the pastry, folding the paper with practiced ease.
âThatâll be 4,20,â Flo said, sliding the box toward him.
The guy shifted, patting his pockets like heâd forgotten how money worked. After an awkward moment of fumbling, he produced a handful of coinsâmore than necessaryâand crumpled cash that looked like it had gone through the wash.
âSorry, Iâuh, here,â he said, holding out the entire handful, as if letting Flo sort through it would somehow speed things along.
Flo stared at it for a second, unsure whether to be amused or mildly concerned. Slowly, he began counting, plucking the right coins from the disorganized mess in the manâs palm.
âBit much,â Flo muttered under his breath, dropping the rest of the change back into the guyâs hand.
The man hesitated. âKeep it. For the next one.â
Flo blinked. âYou sure?â
âYeah. Or tip. I donât know.â The guy smiled, and it wasnât sheepish this timeâjust easy, like he didnât mind.
Flo shrugged, sliding the extra change into the tip jar by the register. His gaze flickered back toward Juliane, whose smirk had only deepened.
âAnything else?â Flo asked, trying to ignore her stare.
The guyâs eyes drifted back to the display case, as if something else had caught his attention.
âActuallyâcan I get five more things?â
Floâs hand stilled halfway to the jar. âFive?â
The guy nodded, resting his elbows lightly against the counter. âYeah. Whatever you like best.â
Flo gave him a skeptical look. âYou donât even know what they are.â
The man grinned again, leaning in slightly. âDoesnât matter. You look like you know what youâre doing.â
Flo huffed softly but started pulling pastries from the case, carefully boxing them up one by one.
Juliane watched, chin resting on her hand as she elbowed the newspaper aside. Her expression said everything she wasnât saying out loud.
As the guy left, balancing the box under his arm, Flo caught the faint creak of Julianeâs chair as she stood, stretching lazily.
âYou didnât know who that was, did you?â she asked, voice laced with barely contained laughter.
Flo barely glanced at her. âA customer.â
She snorted softly. âOh, Flo. Sometimes I think you live under a rock.â
âWhatâs that supposed to mean?â
âNothing.â Juliane grabbed her coat, the lingering grin never leaving her face. âIâll see you tomorrow. Enjoy your day.â
Flo frowned, watching her disappear into the back kitchen.
He didnât think much of it.
The rest of the morning passed in the same quiet rhythmâkneading dough, humming softly to the patter of rain against the windowpanes.
Lemme know what you think about this

After spamming y'all with my gig pics (haha), here's another try on a gig report:
Joker Out in Munich Strom, 26.03.24
- I arrived rather "late" for queueing, at 15 o'clock. Got nr. 50 general access, which was more than fine. The queuing people were really nice and lots of bracelets and fan art were exchanged.
- the weather conditions were so much better than in Cologne and the venue had way more infrastructure around (restaurants, shops with toilets).
- the venue itself is rather small. The stage was packed with the four boys in the front. Jure wasn't easy to spot âšď¸ but no barricade!
- Sector 5 and JC Stewart were performing really well. People were singing along and cheered.
- Kris seemed to be on better terms health wise. He smiled and was more expressive with his face.
- they were given lots of gifts and crowns. Unfortunately, there's still people throwing stuff on stage. One item even hit Jan đł Guys, don't do it, please!
- besides the regular tracks, they played Omamljeno Telo (đ) and Barve Oceana. New songs were Sta Bih Ja and Schlager
- At some point, Nace circled around Jan and he kept on pirouetting
- Not to forget the ALMOST kiss of Kris and Nace: Kris was grabbing Nace's white button-down and shook him affectionately. While pulling him close, his face got super close to Nace's.
- UM was done without Bojan in the crowd. He tried keeping it short, kinda, but... Well... Lots of Slovenian versions, one from a child from the crowd, a Finnish one, German and Swiss-German.
- Jan and Nace were snickery hubbies again. In Cologne, Jan wore a white shirt, in Munich it was Nace. I'll just leave that information for you
- All in all, it was a good and joyous concert.
- After the concert, the boys had headed to the bus quite quickly. Jan was seen shortly, but other than that mainly Kiki and Dean. They have a gig in Milano today so they probably had/wanted to leave early.
- But that gave us time for a spontaneous Tumblr meeting. It was so lovely to talk and interact with you đŤś
#If you wanna add stuff please feel free#And remember: this is a personal opinion. You might have a different point of view or experienced it differently. And that's fine đ#Thanks for a memorable evening#joker out#Joker out Munich

What's the vibe? #62
MyTheresa are probably one of the only e-tailers to say they're making quite big leaps in profit. "The Munich-based luxury e-tailerâs net sales jumped 18 percent to âŹ234 million ($253 million) in its fiscal third quarter that ended in March. It expects net sales for the year to grow as much as 13 percent to âŹ869 million"
+ "Mytheresaâs steady rise in sales has been attributed to the retailerâs ability to differentiate its offering from competitors. In the third quarter, it released exclusive capsule collections with Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Loewe and Brunello Cucinelli. The company also focuses on wooing its top spending clients with special events â a recent example is a 24-hour event with Paris-based label Courrèges in Shanghai for top clients that included a brand exhibition, a meeting with the brandâs creative director Nicolas Di Felice and a private dinner."
Alongside that they're thinking of acquiring Yoox-Net-A-Porter. But we'll see.
Cannes is on right now so here's my top films which I'm predicting will be big over the next year....Furiosa to start with, but it's a big budget film directed by so to be expected.

Weddings being more niche and unique than ever:
SSense launching their wedding campaign with the cutest couples has me thinking. Vogue wedding announcements are nice but this isn't similar. This is the unconventional and so are the designers in their edit - Chopova, Shushu/Tong and Anna Sui re-edits from the past.

^ From 2021
Weddings being a big business means that wedding dresses aren't necessarily applicable in every edit. They can be from ready-to-wear or custom. Younger generations are finding it easier to splurge on a designer dress more than ever, especially from a much more independent designer. They want the unique, something that someone else doesn't have.
I'm sure this is also applicable to wedding destinations also - putting this alongside maybe the rise of Luna Luna fake weddings, Usher getting married at Elvis chapel in Vegas, having custom photo booths and 7 outfits. (See New Yorker Gia Kuan)
Anything else:
Losing it with Blackbird Spyplane this week....
Ending the piece with: "And remember that a ravenous desire for cool clothes is tight so long as you keep it âgourmandâ mode and avoid slipping into âgluttonâ mode, where, in the throes of a boundless acquisitive frenzy, you keep shoving food down your face without even tasting it, without thinking about how it got on your plate â without ever stopping to consider whether youâre enjoying it or not."

WEEK 0: PREPPING FOR PRAGUE
DobrĂ˝ den! My name is Jules Hwang, and Iâm a rising sophomore majoring in industrial and operations engineering. Iâm so excited to share my adventures through my blog as I study abroad in Prague for 8 weeks! This will be my first time in Europe, so I canât wait to immerse myself in Czech culture, try European foods, travel to other countries, and meet so many new people.Â
I tackled my packing process two days before my flight with my best friends: packing cubes and a packing list. I am a chronic overpacker and love to shop, so I wanted to make sure I leave enough room for shopping a ton in Europe. Originally, my goal was to bring a big checked-in bag and a backpack, but my scale failed me and I had to delegate my 24 extra pounds of clothes to another carry-on suitcase. Since Europeans dress up a little more, Iâve been shopping in LA (my hometown) for the past month. Some other random items that I purchased for my travels include luggage tags, a digital camera (so excited to use this), a compact vanity mirror, and travel-sized toiletries.Â
Packing cubes for my clothes and first photo on my digi cam.
Once I land in Prague, I head straight to my housing in Prague 2! My program provides housing, so I got assigned an apartment with four other girls who go to Michigan. We coordinated rooming together and met up at school before the semester ended. My goal for the day after I arrive is to go shopping with my roomies and get stuff for our apartment, like groceries and regular-sized toiletries.
Other things I did to prepare for my study abroad experience are learn basic Czech phrases and save places that I want to go to. I downloaded Duolingo to help me learn a little Czech, and wow itâs a hard language (like really hard). Iâve heard that most locals speak English, so I donât think itâll be too difficult to get by without knowing Czech. A must for me was saving restaurant and cafe spots in Prague since I'm a huge foodie. Before every meal, I will always whip out my phone without fail to photograph the food (phone eats first!!). On Google Maps, I just created a folder and saved a bunch of popular eateries that I found on Youtube, TikTok, and from my friendsâ recs who have been to Prague. A huge goal of mine this summer is to travel to as many European countries as possible! Taking a weekend trip to Copenhagen or staying at a hostel in Barcelona will definitely be on my future itinerary.
I just finished writing this blog post as they called my boarding group here at LAX. I have a layover in Munich, Germany, and then Iâll be in Prague in no time. Thanks for reading my first post, and stay tuned for some amazing Prague content!
Loading up the car with some help (aka one of my cutie dogs). && My comfy go-to airport fit.

The Tale of Two Cities according to Stephi and Heiko - Part 468
This week we show you one of the maybe most important business in the country and probably the world: the delivery business. And we picked one of the best know firm in Germany that operates worldwide and has its headquarters close to Cologne in Bonn.
In all over Germany you will not only see shops that not only trade in packages and their delivery but also other items. But you will most probably not be able to leave the house and go into the city on a workday without seeing one of them yellow vans that deliver packages from early in the morning until 10 pm.
If you are not at home, your package will most likely be sent to one of them shops where you have to pick it up within seven days. You are lucky when there is a real shop that can be seen from far away thanks to the yellow color. But often your packages will be sent to a smaller venue, maybe a kiosk.
We decided to show you the shops that can be seen from afar, the first picture being from Munich, the second one from Cologne.
Now itâs time for you to admit hw many packages are delivered to you within a week.

Such neat things in the works that I want to talk about:
~ first, we have a great opportunity right now to buy a special edition mystery box where you can request us to shop for things while we're at the massive international gem show in Munich in the next week! The mystery boxes with the full explanation are here.
~ second, I will be having a Halloween themed crystal sale directly on my tumblr this weekend, and the orders from that will ship after we get back from Munich. That way if we post some things from Munich, we can combine orders. (*this will happen as long as my shipment doesnât get delayed for some reason, Iâm supposed to receive it on Thursday đ)
~ third, to get ready and make space for all of this, I'll be posting some clearance items on my stories on Instagram this week. This labradorite here is available on clearance right now đ
That should be it! Any questions, feel free to ask đđĽ°
