Pfft, poor alpha with the pup mediation XD This is still where I think these two would struggle the most.

I guess the one thing I thought of is, if Itachi has pups straight away, which he wants, then Neji is too young for his own (in his opinion) and doesn't know about his infertility, so he'd probably take more cues from Itachi with pup rearing.

Maybe just maybe, this means Neji chills out a little when he has his own or Itachi has his second, because he's already seen a pup be successfully raised without 100% organic food lol.

Neji will need to chill out, because if he doesn't, him and Itachi won't get along. Itachi doesn't appreciate digs at his parenting style, and Neji... is petty.

I do really agree with you on Neji comforting Itachi though, I think that's sweet. When Itachi does go into subspace, Neji can stroke his hair and whisper naughty things. I like that!

Idk about the other way around though, because I think Itachi is one of those people that is deeply uncomfortable with roleplaying. He just... can't be anyone but himself because it makes him want to curl up into a ball and die lol.

Itachi isn't that good at building nests either, but he's better than Neji which is good, I guess. It becomes an awkward team effort between three people that aren't great at nests, but it gets done XD

I think Itachi would mother hen Neji when he's going through those first intensive painful heats. Alpha is on sex duty. Itachi is on cleaning, cooking, feeding, bathing and comforting duty.

He preps meals, helps hold Neji's head up when he needs to drink, wipes him down when he's sweating, constantly does laundry. I think Itachi has a nice comforting scent too. Neji's is the more mainstream attractive scent, but I think he likes Itachi's scent because it just smells... calm.

But if alpha was asleep and Neji was begging for some relief... Itachi would provide.

Can you imagine waking up and seeing Itachi eating out Neji right beside you?? I'd think I'd died and gone to heaven lmao.

Akatsuki mlp au

Nagato would be an earth pony with a magical Amulet that makes him a false alicorn.

Yahiko was a unicorn.

Konan is a pegasus.

Kisame is an seapony

Itachi is a unicorn that studied at a prestigious magic school.

Hidan is a kirin.

Kakuzu is a griffin.

Sasori is a changeling but spends an uncomfortable amount of time looking like a unicorn.

Deidara is an earth pony that refuses to let others look down on him because of his lack of magic.

Tobi/Obito is a unicorn but hides it with a cloaking spell so he looks like a earthpony.

Zetsu is just like an evil poted planet.

Au time:

Nagato, Yahiko, and Konan are from a small town in between Manehattan and Filly Delphia. While out exploring the forest one day they stumbled upon ancient pony ruins of a small castle. As they where exploring the castles throne room Nagato saw an amulet behind the throne and curiously put it on, in that moment magic sprang from him in all directions knocking his two friends against the wall. Yahiko was the first to get up and try to get the amulet of of Nagato but the moment he got closer Nagato put him under a sleep spell. Konan then got up but by the time she got to him it was too late the amulet had fused to him and he was unable to take it off but at the very least Nagato was back in control. However he was not able to reverse the spell and now he and Konan spend there days trying to find a spell to wake up there firend.

Obito is from a clan of unicorns that poses high levels of magic. However as a foal Obito did not show a aptitude for magic like the rest of his clan. One day he got separated while playing with his friends and stumbled upon the home of the greatest unicorn his family ever had Madara. Madara recognizing that Obito had potential and offered to take hin under his wing and make him his student. Obito ran into Nagato and Konan while doing a research trip and learned that they where looking for a spell to wake up there friend and decided to help them look for one. (Zetsu was Madaras plant and he made Obito promises to look after it after he passed)

Kisame made friends with Itachi after he came to Seaquestria on a research trip. Kisame had never been to equestria before and by the time Itatchi was leaving he asked if he could join him. When they both got back to the Uchiha home in the unnamed village mistmain is from (Will call it ponokyo) one's back itachi talks to obito and they tell each other about what they've learned and Itatchi decided to also help in finding a wake up spell.

Konan is the one who rain into Sasori while looking through books at the crystal empire library. They both hit it off with a mutual love of arts and crafts. As they where talking Sasori offered to help search for a cure of sorts for her friend as Sasori was know for being a bit of a medic and every offered to come back to her town to help look after Yahiko.

Kakuzu accidentally flew through a window in the house they where taking care of Yahiko in. He took one look at him and told Konan and nagato when they came to check on the commotion that nothing they where doing would work as the spell on Yahiko was old and powerful. He said that he'd only seen magic like it once before in his youth and that if they want a real shot at waking him up they need to search for older more powerful magic. The two then begged kakuzu to help them in there search to help there friend.

Kakuzu found hidan the loud mouthed kirin with a short fuse while looking in there village for old magic (and maybe some items he could paw as more valuable than they where). Hidan had never seen a Griffen before and found Kakuzu very interesting and refused to leave his side while he was in his village, and then when Kakuzu was about to leave Hidan decided to fallow him on his journey much to Kakuzus dismay.

Deidara was a simple earth pony living in ponyville, he worked for a small poetry shop and one day while making a poetry delivery accidentally ran into itachi which caused him to drop the ceramics he was supposed to deliver. Itachi however didn't see it as a big deal as he quickly used a mend spell on the ceramics to get them back to there original form. However this made Deidara upset as it felt as if Itachi had just disregarded the effort he had put into the pieces in the first place. This lead to a massive argument in the middle of town that Obito had to break up. After Deidaras job he ran into Obito again and they got to talking about anything and everything including that Obito and Itachi where in town so that Itachi could ask princess twilight sparkle for a look in her library. Deidara said he wasn't much of a healer but the fact that he was traveling equestria intrigued him and asked if he could join them on there journey.

omg cute idea of sasuke x naruto x shikamaru childhood silliness based on this post by @oh-no-its-bird building off the thesis of sasuke looking to get married to shikamaru to get revenge on Itatchi by spitefully living well by getting a husband and Naruto wanting to get picked instead of shikamaru because he also want to get married so he can have a family

anyway so the funniest things I can see happening is

1)Naruto changing his mind to want to marry shikamaru instead because they are already friends and Naruto has his rivalry with Sasuke so it just morphs into a competition to prove whose better husband material for shikamaru, this morphs from Sasuke doing the choosing to Sasuke and Naruto convincing shikamaru to choose one of them

2) the three of them consistently changing who they want to marry and the best part is that the interpersonal dynamics change based on who likes who, Sasuke at some point does actually consider marrying Naruto but at that point Naruto is super against the thought of marrying Sasuke and is super in denial of the small part of him that really wants to do Sasuke changes him mind immediately when Naruto is antagonistic towards him(it’s because Naruto is in super denial hell)

3), shikamaru going along with all this because it’s funny and he’s bored and it’s so interesting to watch these two fight over him and this stays entertaining because Sasuke and Naruto change moods so often it never seems to get old , it’s a morbid fascination of what the two will do next because Naruto and Sasuke are so dramatic and loud and they bring out very strange qualities in each other that is so interesting,

4) they are academy aged children so it’s very unserious and very cute and the tantrums of Naruto and Sasuke are hilarious when shikamaru messes with them both and alludes to one of them starting to win him over just to see what happens

5) sasukes fanclub are jealous that sasuke won’t pick one of them and that the boy they have a crush on is trying to marry the class slacker and fighting with the annoying loud kid about who will get picked, the fan club loses a few members during this period

and eventually as the three of them get to be genin they calm down a bit ,just a little, Sasuke is embarrassed to be reminded of all the stuff he did as a kid, Naruto is still fully committed to marriage with someone and also he has a rivalry with Sasuke outside of trying to marry shikamaru but he brings up shikamaru and all the things Sasuke has done to try and propose to shikamaru because Naruto has realized that it delivers level ten psychic damage to Sasuke and Naruto interprets it as him totally winning their fights and arguments because it instantly shuts Sasuke up and make him walk away ,

shikamaru is enjoying the quiet time now that they are all busy with missions and not playing tug of war with him in the middle but he’s also a bit sad to not see Sasuke and Naruto all the time because they are his most entertaining people to watch and he actually realized that he liked the attention , all of his team makes fun of him for it a bit and asuma just doesn’t understand it at all because this is strange kid drama he didn’t quite sign up for

But also around this time Naruto and Sasuke and shikamaru all start to develop legitimate feelings for each other and are not do this solely for the motivation of starting families or getting married and seeing shikamaru as the easiest option , they all get cute little crushes and fall in love a bit and it just snowballs from there, there are so many cute moments that aren’t technically dates but retroactively can be considered as dates

Sasuke is still on his revenge path and does actually try to defect from konoha after suna attacks the chunin exam they only difference is that shikamaru and Naruto chase after sasuke with the same dedication and get him back before he can get taken otogakure, at this point sasuke sees shikamarus attachment and falls in love a little and Naruto breaks the moment by beating up Sasuke for being stupid and Sasuke realizes Naruto has a crush too but hasn’t figured it out yet so not Sasuke is mortified that his rival has a crush on him, and shikamaru who is well read on the personalities of Naruto and Sasuke catches onto all this real quick

by the time they are in their actual teens there is a legitimate romance developing but Naruto is still oblivious to the fact he likes Sasuke particularly due to denial and the concept of polyamory not existing in his mind, shikamaru is low key expecting a three way marriage one day and is looking forward to kissing them both and being domestic together, he takes this as a fact that they will all be married to each other so he’s real quiet about it, Sasuke is in love with both of them and is very scared to admit it because he fears losing them and that fear only gets worse when Naruto is taking all his romantic feelings for Sasuke and directing them at shikamaru because Naruto can’t deal with loving two people at once and one of them being Sasuke his rival, shikamaru isn’t helping because he thinks they are all going to get married in the future so technically they already are and he gets to be romantic with his husbands today

(being consistently subjected to so much romancing as a child from two of the most intense people he knows has made him a bit delusional and he’s so smart and has so much experience watching Sasuke and Naruto he can see eight years into the future where thay are all married and in love and he can’t wait for it, in his mind they are already married)

Sasuke sees them both being romantic and in love and feels the walls shutting in and the two of them getting further and further away from him and the self destructive crash out is immaculate , Sasuke goes full uchiha crazy mode and it’s disastrous for everyone involved,

every step they get towards a proper triad relationship is punctuated by very long, loud, public moments of them shouting their feelings at the top of their lungs,

Naruto’s exclamation of realizing he’s in love with Sasuke is the loudest, but shikamaru asking “hey you two, marriage when?let’s be domestic and get married I want to kiss both of you ” is the quietest because the moment Naruto and Sasuke processed what shikamaru said they lost the ability to speak because what?

all their friends are subjected to this messy period of their relationship and it’s all sasukes fault because he can’t have a quiet break down,and Naruto doesn’t know how to be quiet until he’s 17 and shikamaru just says outrageous things that make Naruto and Sasuke scream loudly in confusion because shikamaru is love brained and delusional but only for them, this can directly be blamed on Naruto and Sasuke smothering him with affection and marriage proposals since he was young

Once they work everything out and get married Naruto becomes hokage shikamaru is jounin commander and Sasuke is anbu guard, somehow each one of them thinks they are the housewife in the relationship despite them all having jobs

Itatchi x Monster!Reader

Shikaku's Kids are grown up and the oldest has started his first breeding cycle.

You were cuddled into your partner's back with an arm around his waist when a sharp pain in your lower stomach woke you up.  Your stomach had been aching for a few days but you hadn't thought much of it until now. You clutched your stomach, trying not to cry out. 

“Hey, are you okay?” Itachi was half awake and pushing hair out of your face. You shook your head and he became concerned. “What's going on?” 

“I don’t know…” you whimpered. 

“I’m taking you to the hospital.” Itachi quickly got dressed and helped you dress. 

“Wait, your parents might find out…” The two of you had been secretly living together for over a year. Itatchi’s father had told Itachi that he disapproved of you after hearing rumors that you two had been dating. Itachi and you were still secretly dating after that until Itachi figured out how to convince his parents. 

“That doesn't matter,” Itachi picked you up and carried you to the hospital. 

As soon as you two arrived you were pricked and prodded as the pain got worse. You had been given a private room and Itachi sat by your side, comforting you. It was a few hours before the pain started letting up. Itachi was lying in bed with you curled up to his chest when your father came in.

“Shikaku!” Itachi started getting up to greet him properly.

“You don't need to get up, Itachi.” Shikaku sighed. 

“What's going on, Dad?” you asked nervously.

“Your body is preparing eggs.” Shikaku got straight to the point. “You will be going through your first reproductive cycle. It's earlier than we thought it would happen. We will have to decide on what will happen to the children and who you will be breeding with.” 

“How… How long do we have?” you asked.

“You'll need to breed in about a week,” Shikaku said. You sat nervously. You hadn't really taken seriously the thing your father had said in the past about how your kind reproduced. Having kids seemed so far into the future. You also felt awkward asking your father about these things. 

“I’m going to talk to your father in the hall,” Itachi said and the two of them stepped into the hall. You sat nervously and stroked your stomach, surprised to feel a small bulge already. It was a little while later when you heard arguing in the hall. You got up and opened the door to find Itachi fighting with his father. 

“This is what I want, father. I will be doing this. If you don't want our child to take over the clan then you can have Sasuke and his future children take over the clan.” Itachi stormed into your room and shut the door. “What are you doing out of bed? You need to be resting.”

“What's going on?” you asked as he led you back to the bed. 

“My parents came. They didn't approve. But I don't care. I'm going to be the one you breed. This time and all the others.” Itachi said, seriously. You blushed. 

“I’m sorry you fought with your parents about me.” 

“You don’t need to be sorry. I should have talked with them before.” Itachi sighed. Shikaku came in, quietly.

“Do you have any questions?” Shikaku asked, you shook his head. “Alright, you and Itachi can head back to your place for now. I’ll check on the two of you tonight and bring you some things. Your siblings are coming in to get checkups so I probably won't be there till late.”

“Come on, I’ll help you home.” Itachi kept close to you as the two of you went home. 

“I’m going to take a nap.” you went back to bed as soon as you got home. 

You spent the rest of the week mostly sleeping or having Itachi fussing over you. It was a little over a week later when you started getting the urge to mate.  

“Are you sure about this, Itachi?” you asked nervously.

“Love, I just fought against my father for this; I wouldn't do that if I weren't.” Itachi stopped organizing the supplies to look at you. “Do you not want me to?”

“I just don't want to hurt you.” you fretted. 

“Your father said it wasn't painful,” Itachi reminded you, “and I know you're not the same as your other parent but we don't have any reason to believe that you will hurt me.” 

“It's weird that you talked to my dad about sex.” 

“Well, he's the only one that had sex with the tentacle monster.” Itachi shrugged.

“I wouldn't say he's the only one, it won't be our first time, and I'm pretty sure multiple of my siblings have had sex already and we definitely fall into the category of tentacle monsters,” you smirked. 

“Fine, he’s the only one that has had babies with a tentacle monster.” Itachi rolled his eyes, 

“Did you tell my dad we already had sex?” 

“Yes, it came up.”

“What? That's so embarrassing.”

“If it makes you feel better, it was during the fight with my father and I yelled it at him and Shikaku politely didn't acknowledge it.” 

“No, that makes it worse.” you hid your head in the pillow. “Now everyone in the village will know.” 

“Everyone in the village will know anyways when I’m pregnant,” Itachi said, laying in bed with you.

“Alright, good point.” you sighed and wrapped your arms around him. “I think it's time to start soon,”

“Okay,” Itachi kissed you softly, “does it still hurt?”

“Not really, it just feels like pressure.” You helped him undress kissing his body. “Are you ready? It's not going to be the same as before.”

“Yes~,” Itachi gasped as you sucked on his nipple. You stroked Itachi all over with your tentacles, causing Itachi to shiver with pleasure. “Don't tease me~”

“Good, that was exhausting.” Itachi sighed. “Though your father said-”

“I don't need to know what my father said about getting pregnant with me.” You cut him off. “You should eat quickly. The eggs are coming soon.”

“Okay, have you eaten?” Itachi asked as he ate.

“A little,” you sat next to him. “I don't think I’ll be able to eat till after the eggs are out.”

“Does it hurt?” Itachi asked.

“A little,” you sighed. “Are you sure you're okay with this? You’ll have to carry them for months.” 

“Love, it's too late for me to back out. And I'm sure I want this.'' Itachi smiled.

“You're not upset our kids won't be accepted by your clan,” you asked.

“As long as they have Sharingans, they will be considered part of the clan. And you're Shikaku's firstborn but they still make Shikamaru the clan leader as he's entirely human. So I never expected my parents to let them inherit the clan." Itachi kissed your cheek. 

“Ya, makes sense,” you sighed. “I wonder if any of my siblings have started their breeding.”

“There's going to be a lot of cousins.” Itachi chuckled.

“Ya, soon enough we’ll make up half the village,” you pulled him close and kissed him deeply. “You’ll look so sexy pregnant with my eggs.”

“I’m so ready for you~” Itachi moaned, pulling off his robe. 

“I can't wait to ruin you~” you kissed him roughly as you entered a tentacle into him, with a second one quickly following. You stretch him out until you felt the first egg drop into your ovipositor. You replace the tentacles with the ovipositor. “It's time Itachi,”

“Okay, Love, I’m ready.” Itachi moaned. 

“It feels really good~!” you gasped as you sunk your ovipositor deep into him. The egg was at Itachi’s entrance and pushing in.

“It's so big,” Itachi gasped, uncomfortable at being stretched so wide. He screamed in pleasure as the egg pressed against his prostate, arching his back and curling his toes. You greedily took in the sight of Itachi as his orgasm ripped through him.

“Oh, kami, that was intense.” Itachi collapsed as the egg moved passed.

“Okay,” Itachi was already sweating and tiring out. Itachi gasped as the egg started pushing in, “It’s big…”

“You're doing so well.” you cooed at him and stroked his cheek. Itachi screamed in pleasure again, throwing his head back, as the egg started pressing against his prostate. 

“It's too much~!” Itachi screamed as the orgasm continued as the egg continued in. It was over thirty seconds before the egg passed and Itachi collapsed, dazed and drooling.

When the final egg was finally dropping, you let out a sigh of relief. The weight of the eggs were finally gone and you felt strangely hollow. It was a second large egg and you stroked Itachi’s cheek as it started pushing in. Itachi only gave a small grunt as the egg started pushing in. As soon as it started pressing on his prostate he gave another scream of pleasure, his body shaking with the effort of another long orgasm. You know, what really gets my hide chapped about Kabuto is how much I actually liked his character in the beginning. Even after it was revealed that he was working with Orochimaru, cuz whatever he's a scientist and funding and resources can be hard to get. But then he goes and does this BULLSHIT THAT IS THE REANIMATED JUTSU AND JOINS UP WITH TOBI. EVEN THEN I was like ok yeah he's a shitass. But then he has the balls to try to RUIN THE BOND ITATCHI AND SASUKE START REBUILDING and like, no.

I'm sure at some point imma be calling Kabuto a punk ass bitch in my sleep and waking up my roommates to trash talking him, like I did Sasuke when team 7.0 found him.

Anyways, I'm on episode 335 now.

i... never brought up john and rose's parents??? what are you even talking about??? i never brought up subversion in storytelling, or the fujoshi stuff either, did you accidentally respond to the WRONG ask??

I'm just saying that why was Bro made out to be abusive all of a sudden when he has done things like saving Dave's life upon entering the Medium and fighting against Jack/Bec Noir. The latter ESPECIALLY because Davesprite was with him, who likely has endured the same hardships as the current Dave. What reason is there to add in the abusive plotline? Davesprite, if he wanted to save the timeline like he had saved John from killing himself, why not also save his other self by killing said abuser or letting him die by the hands of Jack Noir? There is no reason for him to get involved of said fight.

Keep in mind too, this was also during Naruto manga's run where people compared the Dave and Bro Strider to Sasuke and Itatchi Uchiha. And we know what happened to the latter older brother....

I can't believe I failed to bring him home AGAIN.

Once again the fact that he still hadn't fulfilled his promise to Sakura, his promise to Sasuke, had him losing sleep. No matter how hard he trained he just never caught up. He could never convince him to come home. All he cared about was killing Itachi...

Well maybe it was time Naruto switched tactics, instead of looking for Sasuke- maybe he confronts Itachi instead.

In the dead of night Naruto had packed his things and left the village with just a note for Grandma Tsunade that said "Don't worry about me Grandma! I'll be back home soon!" with a little smiley face and a peace sign. He knew she wouldn't sanction this, and he didn't want a team. This was something he had to do on his own.

For a week now he'd been looking for the Akatski member. No luck, naturally, he was hunting Itatchi of all people. Didn't mean he'd stop. Didn't mean he'd quit. He would NEVER give up on Sasuke. NEVER. If he had to look for fifty years he would.... but right now he was tired and needed some rest.

Whumptober Day 2: Trust Issues

I'm not going to lie, this one very loosely follows the prompts, but better than not at all, right? : D This fic takes place after the timeskip! I hope you enjoy! x] <3

He needed to get back. Orochimaru probably wouldn’t be pleased that he was outside at all, much less for so long. 

He scowled at the thought, pushing off the tree branch. No. Screw him. 

The foliage of the trees blurred past, every leaf looking the same. Then a bright orange caught his eyes. Just like…No of course not. What would he be doing here? A tree quickly covered it, blocking his view. 

It was probably nothing. And besides, what did it matter if that idiot was there? In fact, if it was him, then Sasuke should keep going, away from there. 

It could be your chance to kill him. Another part of him reasoned. And become as strong as Itatchi.

His stomach sank slightly, but he pivoted and dashed for where he saw the color. Odds were it wasn’t even Naruto anyway, so it was of no consequence to just check. The trees parted and among them was…

A bright orange jumpsuit, now littered with streaks of black that wanted to be more classy, but only one person would even consider wearing such an ugly orange with anything in the first place. A head full of bright blonde hair. He was still.

A crucial detail that had slipped past Sasuke’s notice at the first glance. Was he unconscious? He instinctively took a leap back, Sharingan activated. He glanced around for even a hint of movement. Who did this to him? He fought whatever emotion bubbled in his chest, shaking his head. Doesn’t matter. He reminded himself. It made his job easier, anyway. 

After a moment, it became clear there was no one else nearby. 

The trees were full of gashes, holes, and deep imprints. Cracks riddled the bark, branches and even entire trees knocked over. Naruto slumped on a branch with a violent crack at the base. He would certainly fall to the ground, if let alone. 

Who could’ve done this? Sasuke couldn't help but wonder. Who was strong enough to take Naruto out like this? Yet leave him alive? Even if the Akatsuki had somehow gotten him, they wouldn’t have just left him alive. 

Naruto slid down the tree branch as it sank lower toward the ground. At this height, the fall would kill him. Sasuke glanced around again, and when all was still silent, lept forward to crouch on the tree beside Naruto. Witness his death and claim your power. His stomach sank as he thought the words, almost in time with the branch that threatened to drop Naruto. 

What if our- He shook his head. What if his team comes for him? He couldn’t help but survey the area again, even though if anyone came he would be able to see, or at least hear them. Still no movement among the foliage. Just him, and the body beside him.

A soft moan. His heart jumped in his chest, his muscles tensed, as he looked for the source of the sound. His eyes found the boy close to his demise. Naruto. 

It is painful, Sasuke thought, to be on the brink of death.

The branch careened forward, finally. Naruto slipped off and hurtled to the ground. It would only take seconds for him to expire. At this height, he will definitely die. He would die. He would die and Sasuke would see every second of it. His Sharingan would make sure of that.

The wind rippled Naruto’s hair, his eyelids twitching. 

They cracked open ever so slightly, a glimpse of his blue eyes peeking through. 

The ground crept closer and closer. He would soon make impact and then he would be nothing but a bright red stain, a stain on the dirt and a stain on Sasuke’s life.

Naruto blinked.

A stain that would never wash out, never disappear. 

He glanced around blearily, eyes drifting to the left. 

A stain that would make Sasuke’s chest stab every time he thought about it, just like it was now. 

Naruto glanced to the right. 

Sasuke’s heart beat rapidly in his chest. He was choking on his own pulse now, but frozen he remained. Was it excitement? 

Naruto’s eyes found Sasuke’s. Even half-lidded, they seemed to widen. 

Any second. Any second now, Naruto would hit the ground and Sasuke would be rid of him. And he would be strong. Strong enough to kill his brother and get revenge for his clan-

Naruto’s lips parted, as if to speak. 

-his parents, his mother and father. They were killed and he needed to avenge them. So he had to let Naruto-

He jumped. The whipped past his ears as he pushed off of ranch after branch, hurtling toward the ground faster than anyone could. His Sharingan flared, scanning every single branch and twig to find the best one to jump off of. The one that would send him further, faster, closer. 

A weight landed in his arms, hard. He grunted as he landed on the ground, before tumbling over with no amount of grace, depositing his catch in the grass beside him. 

All was silent. Except for his heart, beating like a drum in his chest. Pounding, pounding, pounding. He took in breath after silent breath, gulping down air to compensate. 

The wind blew in the trees lazily, their leaves shifting and rustling as if to tease him with its lack of energy. Not a care in the world they had. 

A noise beside him. 

He froze. 

He turned his head, almost painfully slow, forcing his eyes to see what was beside him. 

Naruto stared at him through half-lidded eyes, his gaze unfocused and hazy. Had he hit his head on the way down? Maybe he already had brain damage before the fall. but of course it wouldn’t be permanent, ri-

Did it matter? Naruto shouldn’t be looking at him at all, he should be dead, why was he looking at him? Why had Sasuke caught him? He was supposed to let him die-

“S…Sa-” 

Take the life of your best friend.

He needed to be the one to kill him. 

Yeah. 

He couldn’t just let Naruto die, because he needed to be the one to kill him. The adrenaline cooled in him then. If he had just let him fall, then it would’ve all been for nothing. Yet his horror only increased as he watched Naruto’s lips clumsily form the syllables of his name. It can’t be permanent damage, right?

Why does it matter? He fought a wave of nausea. It doesn’t matter, it doesn’t matter, it doesn’t matter. He should be dead.

And he would be. 

Sasuke pulled himself into a seated position, ignoring Naruto’s eyes on him. It didn't matter. He was a dead man already, living on borrowed time. 

And looking at him.

And saying his name.

Sasuke closed his eyes and shook his head again. Just kill him. Kill him now. 

He took in a careful breath before opening his eyes again, his expression steeled. His gaze met Naruto’s beautiful blue eyes. They seemed to stare through him. He wasn’t really seeing Sasuke, that much was clear, and yet it still seemed to stab him through the chest. Naruto’s lips were parted, but nothing came out. His eyelids slid nearly shut again, his eyes threatening to roll back into their sockets, before he mumbled, “Sas…uke.” 

Sasuke’s throat felt so dry he thought he might choke on air. It felt like he was. Choking, suffocating, dying. But he wasn’t the one dying today. 

Chidori. It would be quick and painless, so unlike how he had-

“Naruto!” 

He knew that voice. He couldn’t stop himself from jerking his head towards it, his Sharingan seeing nothing. But he still knew. Sakura. 

Now. Kill him. Now. If you don’t, then-

He reached down, grabbing a fistful of the orange jumpsuit and throwing it over his shoulder. The weight felt like almost nothing, with the adrenaline coming back full force through him, the sound of rustling getting closer, closer, closer, no longer from the wind but something much more aggressive. His heart beated faster, faster, faster, like it might jump out of his chest and into Naruto’s arms. 

They were moving. Air rushed past his ears as he jumped through the trees. Branches whipped against his face, but he had to keep moving. He craned his neck around the bright orange obscuring his vision to try to see her, try to catch any glimpse of the voice he had heard just seconds prior, and the person it belonged to.

He didn’t know how long passed until he stopped. The volume of his breaths rivalled that of his heartbeat, which hammered in his chest against his ribcage like it wanted to break free. He took in more gulps of air, and the weight on his shoulders seemed to increase. 

But it was silent. There was no one around, no one to look for…

Naruto.

Why did he hesitate? 

If  killed him there, then Sa- she and the others would’ve caught up. It would’ve taken too long, been too messy. 

He slid Naruto off of his back again, letting him fall onto the thick branch with a thud. 

Kill him. 

Kill him. 

Kill him. 

Kill him. 

Another soft noise got his attention. Naruto’s eyes had fallen shut again. He was shivering. 

Sasuke wanted to make the shivering go away. 

He should be dead.

He wanted him to be warm.

With his own blood, soaked through his clothes-

He wanted…

“S..Sas…”

A shiver went down his own spine. Stop it. Don’t say his name, don’t speak of him, don’t think  of him. 

“Please…” Naruto’s voice cracked. 

As did Sasuke’s heart, it felt like. Why was he still alive? Why was he not dead? Why-

“Don’t…go…” 

His breath hitched in his throat. Why? Why? Why was he so…

You’re too weak to face me. 

You have to kill your best friend.

Only then will you have the strength to beat me.

He wasn't strong enough. 

What’s more important? His fingers twitched, his hands beginning to tremble. He made a fist. Getting revenge for your family or keeping this idiot alive? This idiot…that means nothing. That is nothing. He’s nothing.

But it didn’t feel like nothing as he watched him shiver violently, furrow his eyebrows in pain, another whimper escaping his lips as he saw things Sasuke couldn’t see. Each tremor seemed to pull Sasuke’s heart further down. 

Kill him. 

Kill him now. 

He wouldn’t even feel anything. The Chidori would kill him so fast he would never have the chance to open his eyes or scream. It would be quick. Painless. Easy. 

Sasuke opened his hand to focus his chakra. One shot. One hit. He could be done with Naruto here and now, and never have to worry about killing him ever again. This opportunity wouldn’t present itself again. And then he would finally be strong enough to take on Itachi. He swallowed. 

“Chidori.”

The lightning change in chakra form came to him easily. He poured more chakra into his hand. More. More. More. He needed to make sure it would be strong enough. One hit. It had to be one hit. 

The lightning crackled brighter. His target, prone on the floor and shaking, crying in his pathetic state. He would never again be able to cry. Never be able to cry. Never be able to say Sasuke’s name so sweetly as if he was the most precious thing in the world-

“Sasuke…”

He shook his head. 

“You mean nothing,” he said. “Nothing.” 

He took a step forward. Then another. 

I’m…

He froze. 

I’m sorry.

He pushed his arm forward, unable to to look as the blindingly bright technique tore into the air, screamed into his ears. 

A noise. 

A voice. 

“Naruto!” 

They’re here. 

Too bad he had already- 

“S…Sasuke.” 

A shiver went through him again as he slowly turned to face straight again. It couldn’t be. 

Bright blue eyes gazed at him through his own outstretched fingers. His hand rested right in front of Naruto’s face. Silence. 

“I knew you wouldn’t do it.”  Naruto said slowly, his lips cracking into a smile, “I knew you weren’t…like they say about you.” 

Like they say about me? 

“Tch,” He managed. He straightened, pulling his arm back, “I don’t know what you mean.” 

You missed your chance you missed your chance, you messed up, how did you mess up-

Naruto’s bright expression dimmed slightly as he ducked his head, “Right. Of course you don’t.” But his smile didn’t disappear. 

Chidori. 

He needed to try again. It wouldn’t take longer than a few seconds. And Naruto’s guard was down. Still. Even though he tried to-

“Naruto!” 

They were here. They were here for Naruto and Sasuke still hadn’t…

“You’re probably not here to…come back?”

He couldn’t stop the scowl from appearing on his face. Naruto’s voice was so hopeful, yet so empty. He didn’t want to see the expression Naruto must’ve been wearing. He refused to turn to see. 

Come back where? There was nowhere worth returning to. The only thing that might’ve been was right in front of him. “Of course not, idiot.” I‘m here to kill you. But he said nothing more. 

“I can sense his chakra signature over there!”

He stole a small glance at Naruto’s expression. 

Time to go. 

Wordlessly, he jumped off the branch, leaving Naruto alone on the tree. 

“Sasuke!” But his voice was already fading behind him. The others wouldn’t follow, they had an injured Naruto to worry about.

Naruto.

You mean…

Nothing.

Maybe if he said it enough times, it would be true.

so the full title is "Akatsuki? I Think You Mean To Say The Polycule Of Dangerous Assassins That Want World Piece?" and im possibly goin to change it but the title works well for what im planing i just hope as i write it that the title still matches the tone im going for

the premise i had for this was that everyone in akatsuki actually wants world peace and to destroy the government/unionize against the shinobi system. basically, there is no secret puppet master getting them all to bring back kaguya and akatsuki is able to purse its original purpose of forming ninja union and stop wars. the recruitment pitches worked on all the original akastuki cast and eventually they all fall in love forming the akatsuki polycule and adding on to it with each new recruit.

the reason this is still a wip is because the large cast of people, the work that would need to go into building a timeline and tweaking cannon and i cant figure out if i want plot or character study for this project. the basic run down i have so far is as follows ....

obito committed too hard to international terrorism bit and it became real, the polycule led to him forming human connection and seeing akatsuki as more than a tool to puppet to the eye of moon plan so he committed to the bit because he began to want the bit to be real

orochimaru has been kicked out of the polycule for attacking itatchi for his eyeballs, because itachi is the polycule baby when he first joined and orochimaru tried to steal the kids eyeballs which is a big no-no

orochimaru has intense divorced energy with sasaori and kakuzu and is affronted that he has effectively been replaced with deidara and hidan because they are both loud noisy and stupid and the only thing the three have in common is that they are dramatic hoes that wont stop talking and orohcimaru refuses to see any similarity

kisame is mostly in akatsuki for the job security and the ninja union that obito promised him but like hmmm these people are honest with him about stuff and wont betray them because they share a common goal and are the strongest relationship he has and also maybe juzo biwa(previous owner of kubikiribocho before zabuza got it) is here in the polycule and maybe kiri nins stick together idk what to do with kisame's romantic life yet maybe hes not doing anything romantic idk

kakuzu is moneysexual here(im joking but not really) hes got something going on with hidan but i cant go into it since i have yet to build up how i want to write hidan

not everyone is dating each other or even dating anyone at all but they are all like sardines in a can and are a close knit group very insular so they are all very close

zetsu if he does exist in the story , my first thought was that he slowly drifts away from akastuki as they are no longer a useful organization to manipulate anymore and obito is slowly not listening to madara's will anymore so he goes to find other methods to do the eye of moon plant and either creates conflict with akatsuki for plot and the polycule has to save the world or i just retcon zetsu based of his first appearance cuz i recall hearing how kishimoto had retconned zetsu and a lot of naruto's plot to make the kaguya plot to divert from the inevitable conflict of naruto confronting akastuki and to in turn face the corruption and flaws of the shoinobi system because during the time naruto was being written there was a sudden rightwing movement in japan and kishimoto switched up his story writing for naruto because he was on the right but i for real can't recall the details and i fear i may be terribly misinformed about all of this but the short of it is i might retcon zetsu cuz kishimoto may have retconned zetsu first and i want to unretcon him and play with the character he could have been, its really complicated and i have no idea what im doing

i havent gotten the relationship chart set up but i really want them all to be a big found family that cares about each other even if they only care for bad or stupid reasons and a good portion of them are dating each other

The Namek Saga is legitimately one of my favorite anime arcs because it's a brilliant premise of just putting your two weakest characters in an arena with the previous final boss, the new final boss, and all his henchmen and making the win condition a chess match

Like imagine if Naruto did something like that like you throw Tenten and Choji in a forest with Itatchi and Madara and you just let shit go down
