Lying down at the end of the day is like letting your brain off leash at the dog park
One minute you're thinking about how fun it would be to spend a weekend at the cute rental cabin on a working farm you saw online, and the next thing you know you're imagining being cross examined in a courtroom about your inability to use Photoshop
#thefatfemme#I promise there was a thought process that makes some kind of sense#For context I was definitely imagining the courtroom set from Legally Blonde#Daydreaming about splitting a cheap rental with my best friend and her partner so we can actually have a vacation is honestly so much fun#Will it happen? Idk we both work a lot and don't have much money#But it's so much fun to send hotels and little cabin rentals back and forth and imagine#It'd be nice if we could swing it though#Putting that out there universe#I'm gonna try to make it happen so meet me halfway if it's not too much trouble

Jason with baby reader whose very affectionate with him but a total menace with everyone else?
Platonic Yandere Batfam x reader
Yesss obviously 💖💖💖 okay but like imagine something with me:
Reader being the youngest addition to the batfam, could be Bruce's bio kid or not, doesn't really matter. The only reason she even ended up at the Wayne Manor was because perhaps Gordon kinda begged Bruce to take you in because he doesn't want you to end in the horrible foster system of Gotham, just asking Bruce to look after you for a couple of months until Gordon can find a good home and adopt you himself.
Anyways, that doesn't happen because Gordon dies. So what was supposed to be a few months, ended up being an indefinite stay.
Okay usually this would be the point when their yandere tendencies start to show but let's say this time- it don't happen.
Look Bruce and the batfam are like super busy with that crime fighting life, believe it or not, vigilant-y life takes a lot of their time. When their not busy saving Gotham, they're either at home resting and recovering, or at work/school. They simply do not have time for family bonding.
Or so you thought.
You've seen the boys going to the "secret" batcave (u found out soon about their hero identities, cause you're smart like that.) and they spend a lot of time training, so they're definitely bonding. While you don't reveal that you already know about their identities and continue to play the fool, it still kinda... hurts to be surrounded by so many people who are supposed to be "family" yet don't treat you as such. Damian snaps at you anytime you ask if you could join him and the others on anything theire doing- even something as simple as just playing video games.
(And then i found out about Damian and Dick being each others fav siblings) Dick tries to be amicable but even he'd turn down hanging with you in favour of taking Damian out to the carnival, saying something along the lines of "Oh Y/n, its just- I haven't seen Damian in a looong time, and it'd be unfair to him if I brought you along because he's just been lookin forward to this outing for so long. Maybe we can do something next time?" But next time doesn't come around, with Dick always prioritising Damian over you.
You thought that Tim would be easier to spend time with, since he's home a lot more than others, but he's a workaholic to the core, and even of you did swing by with a coffee, just to check up on him, he'd plain out tell you to leave, to bother someone else because he just doesn't have the time. And yet there he was, talking for hours on the phone with Conner.
Jason was nice to you even though you initially thought he'd hate you like he hated Damian and well... his other brothers and Bruce as well. But surprisingly, you got along with him. Probably because he thought of you as this sweet kid who didn't know any better about the world, who just needs to be shielded by Gotham and more importantly- Bruce. Maybe that's why Jason talked to you- you're the only one in the house who's not a hero. Maybe that's what he needed: a healthy relationship with someone normal. And it would've been great if he actually hung around more than an hour. No, he was far too busy with ending criminals, or as he liked to tell you "my job doesn't allow me any holidays. Also, I hate Bruce and would swallow a cactus than stay in his home." But at least he brought you souvenirs from the around the world! His "job" had him travelling the world.
Perhaps the boys are just too busy, or don't like spending time with girls, so you decided to go to Bruce. But he's always busy, either with work or with Gotham, or with one of his sons. He is aware of your presence, he just doesn't exactly know what to do about it. With you not being a vigilante or exhibiting any qualities that he would deem extraordinary or impressive, he doesn't know what to do with you. Sure, he's set you an account where he's given you more than enough money to cover all your expenses and everything else, but that's all he gives. Just financing you until you're independent. He doesn't check in with you, not really interested in your average life, and he won't say it out loud but sometimes, he may have even forgotten about you. A few times, he may have taken you along with him to some galas with his sons, and when you're alone with him, you can sense that he's not... pleased? Content? Happy? Sure, he puts an arm around your shoulder and smiles for the cameras, but you can see the way his eyes wander around the room to find something more interesting, more worthy of his attention. The way he taps his fingers with unease, giving you curt replies and dismissive smiles when you tried to talk about schoo or anything, it all made you realise that you are not a child in his eyes.
You are a burden.
No. No, that couldn't possibly be the case. I mean, he took you in. Bruce wouldn't do that if he didn't care about you, right?
Still, to test that theory, you left the gala, alone and without informing anyone. Surely, he or one of the boys would notice your absence. Surely.
They didn't, even as the gala ended, they all left in their own cars, no one even thought to stop and wonder if you were riding with any of them. Hurt and depressed, you made the stupid decision of walking home in your fancy gown. Of course you'd be pulled in the alleyway and be mugged. The low lives decided that they wanted more than just your money, and when you realised their vile intentions, you began thrashing in their arms to break free, resulting in one of them punching your face repeatedly. Just when you thought all was lost, suddenly those pervs were thrown off you and were shot dead. You looked up and were surprised to find out who was your saviour-
Red Hood.
"Jason?"
"Y/n? I mean, who?" Jason was shocked to see you here, more so when you recognised it was him under the mask.
You rolled your eyes. "You can drop the act, Jay. I've known for a while." You groaned in pain as he helped you up. "Shit, you okay?" He asked, helping you walk towards a nearby bench. "Yeah. I mean I got mugged, but yeah..."
"Wait, what are you even doing out here this late?" You told him about the gala. "Soooo... why didn't you go home with them?"
You shrugged. "Just needed to confirm something."
"Yeah? And what's that?"
You remained silent, not wanting to discuss the topic further. Jason sighed before pulling out his phone. "I'm gonna call, Alfred. Have him send a car so pick you up." You grabbed his hand before he could dial.
"I cant- I don't want to go home." He raised a brow. "Why? What's wrong? Did Bruce do something? I swear to god I'll beat-" you shook your head. "No, Jay- look, I just need a break. If it's not too much to ask, can I spend the night with you? Or you can lend me some money and I'll stay at a hotel or something. Promise I'll go back home tomorrow."
Jason stared at you, trying to figure what's bothering you, but he also didn't want to push you by asking. So he nodded. "Of course, you can stay with me tonight. But only if you promise to make me your delicious chocolate chip cookies tomorrow." You smiled, nodding.
Jason took you to his apartment, cleaned up your wounds, cooked you dinner, cracked some jokes and then tucked you in bed. He actually tucked you in bed. He'd never know, but that simple gesture had you crying until you finally fell asleep.
When you returned home the next day, you weren't really surprised that no one had noticed you didn't return home last night.
No one in that house even knew how you were almost rap-
"Miss Y/n?" Alfred called from the kitchen, eyes wide as he took in your bruised face. "What happened? Are you alright?"
You nodded. "Yeah. I fell on the concrete pavement, someone pushed me accidentally-"
"Alfred?!" Bruce called from the dining room.
"You better go. And Alfred-" He stopped. "-don't mention this to him. I don't want him to worry over nothing."
Alfred nodded, leaving to serve Bruce and the boys breakfast. You don't think he'd tell Bruce and even if he did, you don't think he'd actually worry-
"Y/n?" Bruce was standing at your door, eyes narrowing at your face. "Alfred told me you fell?" He walked upto you, inspecting your face. Wait, did he actually came to check up on-
"How many times did you fell? Face first? Because that's a lot of bruises."
"It was a concrete pavement."
"We don't have concrete pavements in the house."
"I was out leaving from a cafe when I fell. Just wanted to eat some bagels." You continued to lie.
Bruce narrowed his eye at you before sighing. "Look, I don't have time for this. If you're in trouble, just tell me."
"I'm not."
"Then do you really expect me to believe that you fell? Is this a desperate cry for attention?" He pinched the bridge of his nose. "If you really did fall in public, "multiple times" as you claim, did you at least get a cab? I don't want anyone taking pictures of you like this and make headlines tomorrow about one of the Wayne kids being abused. I won't have you tarnish the family name."
What? Did he just- did he really say that?
"No. Its not-" you were interrupted by his phone ringing, and Bruce left you to take the call.
You sat there on your bed, dumbfounded and even more heartbroken than before, mind replaying the words over and over again, trying to make sense, make EXCUSES for him, that perhaps you misunderstood him.
But you didn't.
That day, you had finally given up on the batfam. You refused to make a fool of yourself any longer by hoping that one day they'd accept you. You were and always will be an outsider to them. You won't depend on him any longer, even for your finances.
Years went by and you worked hard on yourself to get admission in a highly prestigious college with a fully funded scholarship, all while you worked to handle your expenses. When you got your admission letter, you didn't even bother telling anyone at home about it. Instead, you went out for lunch with Jason to celebrate (who had been dropping by more regularly ever since that night you were mugged), who was more than overjoyed, ruffling your hair and telling you how proud he was of "the only sibling smart enough to bust him out of jail and retirement homes." Jason truly did want this for you- to be normal and go to college like other normal people.
You moved out of the Wayne Manor quietly and moved into your college dorms in a different city, where you found an even better job on the side. The job that now helped you save up enough money to start paying Bruce back for all the years he had to spend housing, clothing and feeding you.
After a couple of months, you were able to wrote your first cheque to Bruce. And if it weren't for the large sum of money and your name attached to it, Bruce wouldn't have realised that he hadn't talked or even seen you for a while. He didn't allow himself to feel guilty for thinking that he may have forgotten about your existence for quite some time.
Picking up the phone, he called you and asked you about the cheque.
"I'm paying you back." Bruce was a little surprised to hear the monotonous tone.
"For?"
"The money you spent on me all these years?"
"Why? And how are you even paying?"
"I've got a job." What? When did this happen? "Look, I gotta go. I have class." You cut the call, and what class? As far as he remembers, Alfred had said something about attending your high-school graduation earlier this year.
Were you in college?
No, no. If you were attending college, he would know. Surely, you'd tell him. And even if you didn't or he forgot, he would remember paying for your tuition. Or maybe he already was, from the account in your name where he sent monthly payments.
Curious, he called the bank, only to be informed that you haven't used the account in years! They did inform him that you opened a separate account, and since Bruce owned the bank, they let him see the account and what you've using it for.
That's how he found out about your college.
You were just leaving your class to go home when you spotted him leaving the Dean's office. Apparently you were not the only one who spotted him, as your classmates all started talking about the famous Bruce Wayne. As Bruce's eyes met yours, you immediately turned and walked the opposite way until you had left the campus, and you went home.
You weren't surprised to see his car outside your apartment. But you were a little surprised to see him in sitting inside your apartment, sitting on the couch with an unamused expression.
"What do you want?" You asked, dropping your bag.
Bruce raised a brow at you. "What? No, hello?" He sighed. "Why did you leave the campus after seeing me?"
"I don't want to be associated with you."
His gaze turned stern. "Why? Are you embarrassed?"
No, I hate you. "No one will take me seriously if they knew I was related to you. I just want to be-"
"-independent? Is that why you sent me this cheque?" Bruce pulled out the piece of paper and dropped it on your coffee table. "Why are you doing this?"
"I told you, I just wanted to pay you off."
"You don't need to. You're family."
Only on paper. You thought.
You shrugged. "Doesnt matter. I'm paying you back every cent."
Bruce stood up, walking right in front of you and it was just then that he realised how much you'd grown up. You looked nothing like the scared little kid who was always peeking from around corners. You had matured, far too much for your age. He could see the little bags under your eyes, the wrinkles on your forehead, the disdain in your eyes.
"Why are you trying to cut me out of your life?" Before you could argue, he put a hand up. "I saw the documents. You didn't list "Wayne" as a surname on your college documents. You're trying to distance yourself from the Wayne name? Are you in trouble? Have you done something... dishonourable?"
You scoffed. All these years and all he cares about is his public image.
"Dont worry, I haven't done anything to bring down your family name." You spat. "Look, just take the cheque and leave. You'll never hear from me again, either in the media or otherwise."
Bruce glared at you, clearly slighted. "You're being difficult for no reason." You had to bite your tongue to stop yourself from going off on him.
He turned around to leave, not bothering to pick up the cheque.
"How'd you get inside?" You asked when he opened the door. You wanted to know, especially since you took all the right measures Jason taught you to stop anyone from breaking in.
He looked over his shoulder and smiled.
"I bought the building."
-
You moved to a new place the next day, after you found out that the landlord refused to accept payments from you, since "your father owns the building. You don't need to pay rent." You wish it was easier to change schools though because apparently the everyone now knows you're Bruce Wayne's kid, which everyone figured out when someone called "Y/n WAYNE, please report to the Dean's office", who showed you that he had the college administration fix the little mess up of "forgetting to add Wayne to your name in all the documents" and then told you that he's very grateful to your father for his very generous donation to the college.
Bruce didn't bother you much after that interaction, except for monthly cheques and cash he'd send you, but you're never using cashing them. He also sends you regular invites to galas and social gatherings or even family dinner at home. You don't go to Wayne Manor anymore, not unless absolutely necessary.
Like today, when Bruce called you to come home for a "family portrait" for a magazine or something because the article is covering about all the Wayne kids.
You could already feel your throat closing up as the Manor came into view. You were greeted at the door by Alfred, the man saying he missed your presence at the manor. You just smiled and nodded.
"No luggage?" He inquired, noting that you only brought backpack.
"No. I won't be staying long."
You started making your way towards your room when you passed Damian's room.
"Y/n?" Dick called out, surprised to see you after so long. Or at all? You'd wonder.
"Hey." You said, eyes darting from him to the room where Tim and Damian were, both just as stunned to see you there.
"So, um... how are you?" Dick asked, unsure how to proceed this conversation.
"Great." You replied before turning around and walking to your room, leaving the boys befuddled.
Luckily, the photographer came soon and started with the shoot, and if it weren't for the photographer continuing to tell you to scoot closer to your brothers until Dick just pulled you and you ended up being squished in between them. Had Jason been here, things would be way more comfortable. But since he's been declared dead to the world, he can't be a part of the family portrait.
And later on, its time for dinner and reader is leaving but Bruce calls her back, telling her to at least stay for dinner if not for the night, and you tell him "I can't, exams are coming up." And he replies "really? The schedule your Dean sent me doesn't show any exams coming up." And after some back and forth, you finally sit down at the dinner table, chewing your food silently while the others talked. You were almost finished and this miserable reunion was coming to an end when one of them started to talk about something that triggered you.
It could be anything, from badmouthing Jason to even telling you to get off your high horse and stop thinking that you're better than them just because you've been living on your own and shit.
That's when you just couldn't hold back your anger and went off on them. Everything you'd experienced, all the emotional abuse and neglect you'd been subjected to from them, you told it all.
With tears in your eyes, you left the manor, only to be kidnapped by the Joker. Bruce and his sons didnt say anything to each other that night, except for replaying your words over and over again, simmering in their own guilt silently. Well, that was until-
"She wouldn't know the sacrifices we had to make to keep her blissfully unaware and ignorant of all the crime outside!" Damian yelled. "Just to keep her wrapped up in this bubble, outside of which is a world where she wouldn't ever truly survive if it wasn't for us!"
"Damian-" Dick sighed frustratedly. "-she never asked us to do this all. We chose this life, long before she came along. It's unfair."
"Unfair??? Then how could she claim she didn't feel "protected" when all we've done is slave over making this hellhole safe! How can she say that from the comfort of this home? She's nothing but ungrateful to us and to father! I'm telling you Grayson, if the tables were turned, she wouldn't ever make the sacrifices to save us!" Damian yelled before slamming the door on his way out.
Dick pinched the bridge of his nose, closing his eyes as he asked Tim. "Do you... think we've failed her?"
Tim was staring at the ceiling, keeping his thoughts to himself. He definitely felt guilty, he remembers the way he would dismiss you.
Tim's silence was enough answer for Dick, though the two didn't know what to do next.
Thankfully, Alfred did.
"Miss Y/n forgot her phone here last night. Should I parcel it-"
Tim was already out of his seat, grabbing it. "No, I'll take it to her." Turning around, he saw Dick also standing.
"We'll take it to her. Thanks Alfred."
-
10 hours later, the two brothers stood outside your apartment. They knocked, but you didn't answer.
"Maybe she's at college?" Dick wondered. "Wanna wait here or go- Tim, wait for me!" His younger brother was already down the stairs when they saw Jason outside.
"What are you two dimwits doing here?" Jason asked, actually surprised to see them there.
"Y/n forgot her phone." Tim said, pulling out your phone. "She's not home. We're going to her college."
Jason's brows furrowed. "Why? She doesn't have classes today. We were supposed to meet for breakfast."
Dick couldn't help but feel slightly jealous of your relationship with Jason. Were you always this close to him? And why Jason, he was home far less than any of them.
Jason moved past them to your apartment, a spare key in his hand. "Maybe she just doesn't want to see you two."
Again, Dick couldn't help the envy that creeped up on him at the sight of Jason using a spare key to let himself in, the feeling only intensifying when he spotted many frames with pictures of you and Jason together.
After checking the whole place, you weren't there. Now, it was time for Jason to start panicking, as he asked them what happened at the manor, and he blew up at them as well for pissing you off like that.
When they had confirmed that you weren't in college or had ever returned to the city yesterday, they all went into panic mode as they informed Bruce about you going missing.
They all rushed back to Gotham, where Bruce had already pulled up CCTV footage of the place where you were last seen, hearts dropping when they saw someone come up from behind and knock you out, before kidnapping you. But no matter how much they searched for you, how many goons they beat up, they couldn't find you.
It is during this time that their yandere tendencies start to develop.
And it wasn't until a week later when they received a hint about your whereabouts, and they finally found you, in a warehouse, chained to the ceiling, a shock collar around your neck, all bruised and beaten because come on, Joker ain't gonna go easy on you.
The torture he subjected you to, it was almost comparable to the one Jason had to suffer. You were unnervingly still, and they couldn't help but wonder whether you were... dead.
That was until the shock collar went off and you screamed as your body jolted, Joker's manically laughing in the shadows.
"She's a tough one, much better than the wannabe Robin! I've been shocking her, waterboarding her, whipping her all week but she refused to tell me your real identities! I was starting to believe her when she said she didn't know, but it's just fun seeing her writhe in pain-!"
They beat Joker up, while one of them takes the collar and chains off you. You'd passed out from pain and exhaustion, and when you woke up, you were back in your room at the manor. While you were unconscious, Jason did end up revealing about how you actually did know about them being vigilantes, further intensifying their guilt and increasing their yandere tendencies, after all they do realise how they've failed to protect you.
So the story from here progresses on to when reader is actually forced by the family to stay in the manor to heal, all while their need to protect you increases the more you refuse their help.
When your injuries have healed and you're ready to leave, but they don't let you. Bruce tries to approach you, gently telling you that you need to be at home with your family, where you're safe. He wants one more chance at righting all his wrongs, he won't shy away- he admits he's made mistakes in the past with you. You back away when he tries to come closer to you.
"You don't get to choose to make up for your mistakes when you feel guilty, not when I had to spend all those years learning to live with your horrible parenting."
Tim spoke up next, telling you to just listen to what he has to say, but you cut him off with a dismissive hand.
"This is how you used to brush me away whenever I came to you, like I was some sort of fly, always too busy, too much of a hassle to even reply to a simple hello. So, why should I give you my time of the day now?"
Dick tries the comforting approach too, surely you don't hate him as much since he wasn't even around that much in the first place to cause you any hurt, promising you that he will do better this time. But you shut him down quickly too.
"I was never a priority for you then. I used to sit on these stairs, waiting for you day and night to finally be able to spend time with you. I know better by now than to trust your false promises."
Damian had a melt down next because you insulted his favourite brother. He went off on you that you never had to suffer through the same trauma as he or any of them did. How it's unfair that you don't give them another chance, how you don't understand that the Wayne's aren't a perfect family because of all the horrible things they've had to and still do go through on a daily basis.
You stared at him for a few moments before replying.
"I was almost r*ped."
The room went deadly silent, Bruce's mouth agape, Damian's eyes widening, while Dick and Tim turned pale.
"The night we went to that gala, you guys all left without me. I was pulled in an alley, mugged and almost r*ped if it weren't for Jason." You chuckled dryly. "What's worse is that none of you even bothered to call me, or even noticed that I hadn't returned home that night. I could've been dead in a ditch and none of you would've noticed for months, if not years." You wiped the tear that escaped your eye. "None of you attended my graduation, none of you noticed I had left for college, not until I sent a cheque to Bruce. I've buried you all in my past, and if it helps you sleep at night, I have forgiven you as well but I will never forget."
You looked at Damian. "And just because you've gone through some shit Damian, doesn't mean I'm undeserving of love and respect. I've experienced traumatising incidents too but the difference between you and me is that I don't use them an excuse to be a fucking dickhead."
You heard a car honk from outside. "Jason's here to drive me home- my home."
But before you could take another step, Tim had injected you with something. You jumped back, holding the puncture wound on your neck.
"W-what did you do?!" You yelled at him, and Tim only shrugged. "What's necessary."
You heard another honk, and this time, you opened your mouth to yell for Jason, only to have a hand slap over your mouth, muffling your screams for help. It was Dick, as he quickly wrapped his arms around you and pulled you to his chest, dragging you away from the door as Bruce ordered Tim to put the whole house on lock down mode (essentially an impenetrable fortress), while Damian went outside to release his anger on Jason, both for failing as a brother to you (not that he'd ever admit it) and for Jason being clearly your favourite.
And from here on, you're being constantly coddled by the batfam (except for Jason since he does actually want to save u from the batfam). Bruce is always the first one to greet you every morning, and if you're still asleep when he comes, he might get away with patting your hair without you flinching away. He'd greet you, tell you he's expecting you to join him downstairs for breakfast. You simply turn your back to him, pulling the covers over your head, not bothering to reply to him, hoping to catch a break in this goddamn house.
You're only able to spare yourself for a few moments before the covers are yanked off you and you're greeted by the cheery voice of Dick. "Good morning, baby bird!" He'd yell before pulling you up and of the bed by your arms, and then to his chest, spinning you around as you try to escape his crushing grip. He's not fazed at all, mostly because he views you as a tiny little feral kitten who just needs a lot of love and snuggles. He drags you down for breakfast, everyone else already seated. You're seated between Dick and Bruce so that you can't run away, and also because Bruce makes it a habit of talking to you on various topics, usually about the book he'd leave on your bed. You would talk to him at first, but after a few weeks, you got bored with the silent treatment.
If its Dick's day with you, he spends most of the time trying to do anything and everything. No activity is off the table. Baking? Hell yes, but he's the only one who laughs after he intentionally throws flour at your face and fails at starting a food fight when you just leave. You wanna play board games? He's pulled out every board game in history and he very obviously let's you win. Movie night? He's build a fort (that he claims you two built together. You didn't, you just stood there while he built it.) And has all the classic films, pulls you close so that he can nuzzle his cheek with yours (again, not fazed by you trying to scratch his face off). Sometimes, he'd even bring you to the gymnasium (because Bruce can afford to build one in his house), where he lowkey forces you to learn about gymnastics, but at least he's a good spotter, cause you never get hurt.
If its Tim's day with you, he makes you spend the whole day just... with him. Look he's sleep deprived, he's lanky, he doesn't have a lot of energy like Dick or Damian, but what he does have is... perseverance. Tim will literally handcuff you to him if it means making sure you stay by his side. If he's getting coffee, youre getting coffee with him (he makes you a cup). If he's sleeping, you're right there, either get comfy and sleep next to him, or stay up and be bored because he's dead asleep. If he's in the batcave reviewing CCTV footage, you're there with him all day and even nights. He just wants to the remorse of dismissing you before to go, almost like he's trying to make up for all the time he wasn't there when you needed him, to now being in your business every second of the day.
If its Damian's turn with you, he's... weird. He doesn't actively make you do anything with him, it's more like having you observe him. He'd have you sit on the side and watch him train for hours on the end, rudely refusing to let you go do something else, or even train with him. He's playing with Titus? You're supposed to be watching him teach Titus tricks. He's going for a walk? No, you're the one who's walking while he's running laps past you. It's like he's trying to impress you to make up for his shitty words and behaviour.
As for Bruce, he likes to spend his time with you on a schedule. Have breakfast with him, then go on a jog around the estate, then accompany him to his home office where he works while you do college work (because obv, he shifted you to online education), and he definitely annoys you by standing over you while you study, not helping you until you ask for it but also not leaving so you feel intimidated under his stare and continue to make mistakes. Then have lunch at noon, followed by him giving you a puzzle or one of those fake crime files to solve, he likes to stimulate your brain and see how it works. This activity takes time so by the time you're done, Alfred has prepared supper. You both have dinner and then you both go to the library to read, because he wants to something less stimulating to the mind as your bedtime nears. Then he tucks you in bed, sits by your side and gives you a lot of positive affirmations (which he picked up from the parenting books in his library), before kissing the top of your head and leaving.
As for Jason, since he still insists on "saving" you, he's not allowed to see you. He can try breaking in all he want, he can't outsmart the Batman.
Or can he?
I had to type this on mobile with henna on my hands.
Yall better be grateful.

What's worse is that you keep playing with the pen in your mouth absent-mindedly as you work on whatever paper is in front of you, brows furrowed and lips turned into a deep frown.
You're quite beautiful when you're focused, Kaeya thinks as he watches you for a moment, shifting slightly to hide the growing erection in his pants. He can't leave for work like this, flustered because the sight of you entices him. (He wonders what you would do if he replaced that pen with his-)
Kaeya shakes his head. Not today - he has to be on time today because the Traveler is meeting him and the Acting Grand Master today, and if he starts now, who knows how long it would take? Well, a quicky might be possible but Kaeya loves to take his time with you because watching you unravel so desperately is his favorite past time.
His eyes continue to stare at the skin that is hugged by your socks, his thoughts wondering how nice the soft flesh might feel beneath his fingers.
"Captain?" Even more audacious to give him a lopsided grin as you address him formally.
"Why 'Captain'? Are we not dating, my love?" Kaeya inquires as he finally steps into the threshold, into your space as he towers over the couch. The pen is back to your lips and he swallows.
"I tried calling your name already," you say as you glance back down. "You've been staring awhile. Don't you have somewhere important to be?" The soft swish of your socks rubbing together as you swing your legs slightly draws him back. Kaeya thinks it'd be more fun to part those damn legs, and leave bruises where he can.
"Well, how can I not stare at my lovely princess? Always looking so beautiful and ravishing in the morning sun." Kaeya asks with a soft chuckle. "Do you not have work today?"
"Nope! After yesterday, I was told to take the day off." You shrug. "I'll be back in the field tomorrow though. What time do you think you'll be home?"
Kaeya sits at the edge of the couch, hoping this is excusable enough to just touch you. His hand accidentally lands on the plush of your butt. He thinks he sees you grin a bit.
"Probably not until the evening. Do I need to pick anything up after work?" He subtly slides his hand further down. "Perhaps I could just take a day, after all, I can't stand the idea of my sweet darling being home alone and sad all day."
You giggle a bit. "Well, I'm sure Acting Grandmaster Jean would find it acceptable." His hand slides beneath your pajama shirt, and oh -
You're not wearing underwear.
You tease.
Kaeya considers his options - he could go to work and let you be on your own, as a revenge for teasing him though it wouldn't be much revenge if you're capable of getting yourself off, or he could stay and indulge what you are offering. He runs his thumb gently along your wet slit, watching as your eyes close in mild pleasure, but that grin is still on your face.
"Mm, precious, you make me make some difficult decisions, you know?"
"Do I? It seems you do this to yourself, Kaeya."
He lets out a soft breath, smiling a bit. Oh how he adores you - you know how to innocently push his buttons and make him long and make him want. Kaeya pulls you into a soft kiss.
"You're lucky I'm feeling quite nice after yesterdays news, sweetheart," he tells you as he slowly strips himself from his uniform. Kaeya loves the way you look at him - it makes him feel more confident in himself than he'd ever really admit. And more loved, too. "I considered leaving you here, on edge, until I returned but I think being home with you today takes precedence."
His breath ghosts your ear and you shudder as he presses himself against you.
"So be a good girl for me, yeah?"
He feels like he's looking into a mirror when you smirk at him, the triumphant look on your face tells him everything he needs to know about the thoughts running through your head.
"I don't know what you mean, Kaeya, I'm always a good girl for you."

hi!! First of all happy belated birthday no idea when you’ll see this but 🥳 I just wanted to see if you could just do some general kinda fluff for Toby and any other of your choosing during like the crush stage
also you are an amazing writer and incredibly creative whoever the douchebag who stood you up is doesn’t deserve you so get yourself a better man bc if anyone deserves it it’s you<3
so yeah that’s the end of my little rant and feel free to just ignore this ask, put yourself first!
-A ❤️
Summary :: Toby during the crush stage
Notes :: thank you so much!🤭 You are too sweet! btw I didn't know which Toby you wanted so I js did High school Toby but I can always change it if you want and make another one for him💟 I'm prob going to add Jeff later but I js wanted to get this out as soon as possible
Warnings :: none that I can think of except for the usual cursing
Readers gender :: None assigned, gender neutral
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
This guy is so fucking mean for no reason but hates whenever anyone else is mean to you
He bullies you because he doesn't know how to respond to his own emotions and he has absolutely 0 experience. Plus, he thinks you're only talking to him to mess with him at first
I can see him falling for someone because they were nice to him or because he found them physically attractive as bad as it may sound to some people. But, he does know when someone is only being nice because they feel bad or they are just trying to mess with his feelings he just wants to be treated like a normal human being not get made fun of or have people be overly nice to him because of his disorders but we can get more into those emotions another time.
Even though he can most of the time tell the difference between genuine kindness and people feeling bad, sometimes he may think that people are messing with him when they actually are being genuinely nice because he overthinks everything and lets his bad thoughts take over a lot of the time.
Would definitely zone out while staring at you as he bites his nails and hands... Gets so many side eyes and weird stares because of it too
thinks about you 24/7 to the point it affects his daily life and his mother and sister get worried
He would probably mistake his romantic feelings for platonic at first but when he realizes the only thing that changes is how mean he is to you and I don't mean he gets nicer 😃 your #1 hater and #1 supporter
He's honestly confusing, one minute he'll be thinking you hate him and he doesn't have a chance to thinking he does have a chance and that you have the same feelings for him as he does for you.
Meaning that there's like a 30% he will make a first move on you because you have to catch him in the right mood, at the right time, on the right day which is pretty hard because you'll never know what mood he'll be in and he
He literally just acts like he hates you and if you asked him out or made a move he'd turn it down but then out of no where months later he will ask you out
he's honestly such an attention whore and he only craves your attention now so good luck
the only time he can really talk to you in person outside of school is if you happen to be friends with his sister or you guys meet up somewhere like a park or a cafe which isn't that often because of his parents so he makes up for it by texting you all day
Reminder though that he isn't some soft and shy bundle of joy who is just hurt, he is crazy and is slowly going under the control of Slenderman. He can have major mood swings and will most likely make you end up not liking him for the way he treats you at first, he doesn't mean it tho he's just a lil delulu 😊
Overall, your experience is gonna be a rough 5/10 unless you don't mind his harsh words then it'd be like a 6.5 - 7.5

The 'Great' MHA Read Along, Part Two (Chapters 5-7): The Aizawa-ing.
*checks last post, gets more than one like*
*blinks*
Huh. Well. OK then. Let's do another one, I guess.
And, literally the first panel? Bakugou. Wow, Bakugou is so great, so strong...
Bakugou scored zero rescue points. Zero. He was the only one, as far as we know, to get zero points and still pass... and that doesn't concern you at all? Considering most people didn't almost die like Izuku and Ochako, then the bar for 'rescue points' honestly must have been in the ground, like helping someone when they fell or something. And here, in UA, an elite school for Heroes, whose job is to save people, Bakugou scored zero rescue points. Like, I don't expect him to not get in over this, but it'd be nice if, instead of everyone fawning over him, from literally page one, someone could go, 'Hey, I don't like the looks of that'.
Then we transition to Izuku and All Might, and I guess that answers the question of, 'Why couldn't All Might help Izuku get in?': because he knew Izuku wouldn't want that.
I. I'm actually not sure of that? He wouldn't want attention, at least. But whatever, ultimately, the problem I have with that is All Might literally just dropped him in the exam with absolutely zero Quirk experience when, from all accounts, he could helped him get in somehow, Mr. Number One Hero, but....
Alright, bear with me a second. In theory, letting him earn his way is fine, but in practice, there's no fucking way Izuku should have passed if he didn't accidently crack the morality cheat for this exam, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize this. At the same time, though, it's clear he doesn't deserve to be recommended student, yet, because again, he's a total noob, and I doubt he'd pass that exam, either, since it's just a giant race.
I think, ultimately, the problem here is Izuku is in a position where there's no reasonable way for him to pass, period. And I can't really blame anyone other than Hori, since, you know, author, and it goes back to what I said last time about he just set up Izuku to struggle for struggling's sake. And the thing is, he could still have had a hard time at at exam, but not have been so damn helpless about it; I mean, in all honesty the only reason Uraraka survived (as far as we can tell those robots are not safety proofed) is that he just so happened to have his Baby's First Quirk moment at that very moment, and since his Quirk is on the level of a fucking god he accidentallyed a robot that could step on a fucking Gundam. If it wasn't for protagonist level plot armor, in other words, Ochako should be dead, which... is a realization. Izuku has no way to fight the robots, or win the race, other then exploding himself, and this setup, for someone who is theoretically supported by the most powerful and influential man in the country, who is literally on the staff, doesn't really make sense. It'd be one thing if was literally nobody, but he's not: he's All Might's apprentice and heir. He is the exact opposite of nobody, but the story never really treats his situation like that; it be easy enough for them to swing it as him being Heroic royalty if All Might and Izuku were more pretentious (you could debate about the destabilizing effect of that, but all things considered All Might retiring and/or having an heir before everything went to shit actually could have been helpful, even if it made Izuku's life infinitely more complicated).
I just don't like that whole situation, basiclly, both with Izuku's capabilities and how hands off All Might suddenly is when he was helping him train daily literally to the actual day of the exam.
And then All Might admits he saw the problem of Izuku's control coming and did... nothing about that. Is. Is the reason All Might is inside OFA because it took his entire personality on the way out? A few chapters ago he was worried about Izuku exercising too hard, and now he's all, 'It's fine', with this apocalyptically powerful Quirk? And, now that it's established that there is a problem with his control, why isn't he trying to help with that problem? Like... at all?
See, this is what I was talking about last time: Arc One All Might is this committed, focused trainer who is expertly pushing Izuku's body just a hair from his absolutely limits on the daily and devotes large portions of his time to helping him improve. Arc Two All Might is just letting him blow up his arms for no apparent reason, while barely ever having time for the child with the legacy of his teacher and like, the primeval spirit of heroics inside him.
And, to top it off, there's the knowledge that he's never going to recover from this change; it only get worse from this point on.
Good bye, Competent Might. I'll miss you.
...And, here's Bakugou. And, with peerless Bakugou Logic (TM), even though he's in the best heroic school period, he's still treating his classmates as extras. Literally.
Pause here; random tangent time.
You know, early Bakugou's story has the shape of a 'big fish in a little pond' story, but have you realized his Quirk is perfect for that as well?
So, the thing is Explosion is a good Quirk, but it's just that: good. It's better than... seventy, eighty percent of Quirks we see, than most of his classmates. Then there's presumably another ten percent of equal Quirks, somewhere....
And then that last ten percent make Explosion look like kid shit. It's hard to remember with how chronically underused it is, but Momo's Quirk is terrifying with some work. I would bet that there's a chemical that neutralizes nitro she could pull out, which would neatly defang Bakugou, for example. Or, a blast of water, to get rid of his sweat, so there's nothing for him to blow up. Or, his actual, canon weakness, cold; fire extinguishers, anyone?
And that's not even mentioning Shoto. And this isn't later story Shoto, who is a side character in his own story, oh no, this is Earlyroki, who can solo the entire class with minimal effort on his part (except Izuku, but that's the starting point of their relationship, Shoto acknowledge him as a potential threat). This is Shoto before the nerfs rolled in.
The set up for the 'small pond' shit is honestly perfect, but Hori just never commits to it. Worse yet, to get around the limits he put in on Bakugou's Quirk, he just... starts breaking his own rules, all the way back with the Sports Festival (coming... at some point!), and it's super disappointing when you realize how great this could have been for realigning Bakugou's ego.
...Alright. Got off track there. Let's stop talking about Bakugou, and start talking about Iida! Iida who apologizes, and acknowledges Izuku! Iida who calls out Bakugou on his shit! Far more wholesome.
And then Uraraka shows up, and I'm pretty sure this is the end of his, 'OMG a girl I literally can't talk' phase, but again, nice to see someone acknowledge Izuku's existence and not hate him...
Ah, Bakugou flashback. I don't hate this, for once, because while it's Bakugou's flashback, it's about Izuku, and his growth, and him standing up for himself, even a little bit. Self affirmation is always nice to see...
And there's a homeless man who broke in! How talented. Wait, that's not a homeless man, that's just an adult who doesn't give a shit about personal hygiene!
(If you're new here, welcome to my blog. As you may have realized, I am not an Aizawa stan.)
(And yes, Bakugou, you tell that ball to die. How dare it be round!)
Welcome, everyone to Eraserhead Land, a world where you don't need to know things like where the consoler is, because mental health for law enforcement personal armed with dangerous superpowers is for losers! Welcome ceremony? Feeling accomplishment about getting into a top school? Possibly learning important things when everyone is gathered in one place? Naaah. If you're not stressed, miserable, and on edge, you're not doing it right!
To those unfamiliar with my posts, you may think I'm joking. I'm not.
Literally, the whole, 'Last place gets expelled bit'? Is because the kids were excited. All Might confirms that, yes, Aizawa absolutely would have kicked someone out.
Dadzawa Fans: 'Ah yes, the "Aizawa Critical" theory. The idea that Dadzawa is false and that the man in question is in fact deeply flawed and acts in incredibly traumatizing and Quirkist ways that should have massive negative repercussions on everyone he has ever taught. We have dismissed this claim.'
Me, deadass watching Aizawa prepare to kick someone out of school because some kids were happy: *blinks in visible confusion*
...This is a man in deep need of therapy. Which probably explains his views on guidance counselors.
Oh, and then Izuku neatly sums up my problem with how his life goes, that can basiclly be applied at any given moment : "My (insert normal thing here) has turned into a huge ordeal!"
Anyways, time for a bunch of tests that, by design, Eraserhead could never pass. And of course, we can't go five minutes (or five seconds, sometimes), without yet another demonstration of how unreasonable Bakugou is, what with him blasting Izuku in the race, which is actual sabotage.
Aizawa... sees no problem with this, apparently. Give it a couple of years, and we'll see an enterprising class take that to its logical conclusion, and murder and/or maim one or more of their fellow classmates for the win!
And now we have a flashback where, surprisingly (? I'm not actually sure if that should be surprising at this point) All Might actually tried to advise Izuku... by basiclly telling him to dial it back, but otherwise to figure it out himself.
You.... You had this Quirk. This exact Quirk. Why is your advice so useless?
Then we have a single panel of the long jump where I half think Bakugou ended up sabotaging Izuku again; why are these kids doing all these at the same time, again?
And then it comes out: Aizawa had already singled out Izuku, even before class, for him passing the exam at all, which didn't 'make sense'.
(With how the exam was set up, Izuku could have passed with minimal stress on his part if he just helped people instead of trying to deal with the robots all. Unironically, I don't think you actually need to interact with the robots at all, in the exam about fighting the robots. This is, as far as I can tell, a valid strategy, and it's not Izuku's fault that it rewards people for helping, bloody fuck.)
I'd bet this entire thing was just because of Izuku, so he could bump him out with minimal justification on his part. He flat out says he doesn't like All Might (an 'insufferable' hero) and compares Izuku to him directly. Like, god this is so damn targeted, and we have All Might watching, internally monologuing about how Eraserhead hates him and he's helpless to protect Izuku...
...Some the fuck how. The Number One Hero is helpless to protect his heir from a clearly biased attempt to get rid of him, when the principal is in the know about important he is. And he seems remarkably fine with his student's seemingly impediment expulsion.
'I can't help him! I'm just going to stand here watching from behind a corner instead of making sure Nezu knows how ABSOLUTELY LIVID I'll be if he gets expelled, or preparing to leverage my immense fame and influence to help, or maybe threatening Eraserhead if he takes his dislike of me out on an innocent student! Nope, no way I can contribute here, oh well, sorry for being such a waste of space Izuku, you're on your own.'
...What the fuck is this? This doesn't make sense! I bought into the narrative of this the first time I read it but now that I've stopped to think about it for five seconds this entire arc is collapsing in on itself.
Why did you make Izuku's mentor the most powerful person on the planet, with the ability to command legions of devoted fans, who single handedly changed how an entire country looks at heroes, if you were going to make him so fucking helpless?!
And then, the cherry on top of all of this is Izuku 'grows' by only breaking his finger, and this fills Aizawa with apparent delight.
Bloody hell. Here, let me summarize my impression of Aizawa after reading this arc again:
"The longer Eraserhead is observed, the more terrible a teacher he becomes."
And now we reach the next chapter, where Bakugou promptly attacks Izuku for the crime of having a Quirk, and Aizawa stops him before... whining. About dry eye.
Mr. "I expel entire classes" yet again sees no problem with students fighting each other, apparently, which is more evidence for my Bloody Mist style Class 1-A theory; we already have discount Kakashi, whose entire character is basiclly badly copied copy ninja characterization, so we might as well get young!Zabuza or something as well.
Oh, I almost forgot Aizawa's first lesson to his students: you can never trust anything I say, ever, because I can, and will, lie to you, for no reason at all, at any moment at all, even when what you think are real-life consequences are on the line, and if you fall for it that's your mistake for falling for a 'logical ruse'.
Talk about a trust building exercise, huh? Clearly, this is Best Father Figure.
Meanwhile, can I mention how nonsensical All Might teaching when he has a time limit is? Why the hell is he wasting his waning moments of power, which could be used for so many more important things than standing there while the students gawk at him? Teach as Skele-Might, or watch the security cameras or something.
...Huh. My translation doesn't have 'Dekiru' in it, even though we had Ochaka accidently call Izuku Deku. Was that later or did whoever did this just not put it in...?
Welp. This was immensely frustrating. Good thing the next arc isn't going to have anything at all concerning, SOD breaking, or horrible in it, right?
#bnha critical#mha critical#bakugou critical#aizawa critical#The 'Great' MHA Read Along#well this got worse fast#goodbye competent might#hello dumb might#the arc one to two whiplash#struggling for struggling's sake#i have no idea what i'm doing#but i'm glad tumbler now knows to offer this tag to me#what the fuck did i just bring upon this cursed land

Because the foster system is absolute shit, and I'd imagine Gotham's foster system is probs 10x worse, I've had an idea.
We know Stephanie's baby is not Tim's. But we also know Tim was willing to step up and help with the baby regardless, we know he was there for the baby's delivery too.
We also know Stephanie is not ready for a child, and that's okay. She was still basically a child herself at the time and she also feared for her babies safety if she ever was to keep it. It's okay for her to choose to give it up.
But I propose maybe Tim is the one who gets too attached here. And he's confused with himself because this child isn't even his. But he loved Stephanie, he still does though it's platonic now, and I just think he'd see that baby and immediately love it just as much.
And Tim knows he could never take this baby on just by himself, and Stephanie would never let him because again, their jobs are too dangerous.
Tim is also aware of how trash the foster system is, especially in Gotham.
So I'm imagining Tim somehow convinces Ma and Pa Kent to raise this little girl, because he can't imagine anyone else more trustworthy and qualified.
They're always down for a new kid. Ma had wanted a large family all her life, but unfortunately she was never able to have kids of her own. Clark was a miracle sent to her from above and Kon was a blessing in disguise, Ma thanks the powers that be for the chance to raise both boys.
But the Kent's have never had a daughter, and I feel like they would welcome this baby in with open arms. A little girl for them raise and dress up, and Ma's already started crocheting her a cute little cardigan.
And I think Stephanie was more worried than her child's safety than anything else too, so I think she would feel a lot less anxious handing the baby over to the Kents.
Like think of the story potential of the Kent's raising this little girl. She's safe away from all the vigilantism, and she has a normal childhood with two stable parents, just like her mother wanted for her. And then the heartbreak of that vigilante lifestyle still finding this girl despite all this anyways.
Just imagine how devestating a storyline that could be. You sacrifice a relationship with this child so she can have a better life, and it's all for nothing, because there's your little girl in a Kevlar suit swinging from the rooftops.
It was inevitable really, vigilantism is in her blood. Gotham is in her blood.
It doesn't matter that all she's known are the rolling fields of farmland, the soft embrace of a small country town, Gotham is still something living and breathing inside of her, and no one from Gotham can ever truly leave.
And you can't even be mad at the people who raised her, you can't fault them for this because they have done everything within their power, they've been good parents.
All Stephanie can do is despair. Because Tim promised her, he promised this child would never have to know the struggles of their own lives.
Her daughter will never be safe on the crumbling rooftops of this cursed city.
But here she is anyways, despite all efforts and sacrifice.
Also I feel like, if this girl is raised by the Kent's, when she does eventually come back it will be much easier for her to build up a real relationship with her mother when they reconnect. Because as someone with complicated family, I feel like it's very common for a child to want to seek out their bio-parents even if the parents who raised them were super loving and caring.
Sometimes you find your bio-parent/s and you regret ever looking for them, regret ever asking the people who raised you to help you find them. But other times you get welcomed back with open arms, wet apologies, and a good reason for why they gave you away.
I just think it'd be something nice to explore. More representation ig. Like all of Bruce's kids have known their parents before being adopted. But we've never gotten to explore what it's like for a lot of people who never even knew their bio-parents.
I mean sure, we got a glimpse of that desperation to fill the feeling of a missing piece with Jason, but we all know how that ended for him. His mother was a really bad person, and she's the reason he ends up 6feet under.
But I really want representation that shows not all parents who give up their kids are bad people. Some of them are actually doing what's best for that child because they have the maturity to understand that they wouldn't be able to provide a safe and stable environment for a kid. They're puting the child's needs first.
And I'd really like to see the struggle of a child who's only known the people raising her as her parents and despite how good they are, still feel like something is missing.
#I understand Clark also sorta had this experience but like he has lazers that come out of his eyes and his bio-parents aren't alive#I want a story with similar premise I guess but with the child's parents still currently alive so she has to grapple with that fact#Clark was sent away because his parents died#Which might be a lot easier to come to terms with than the idea that maybe your parents never wanted you and chose to give you up#And then the part where you meet said parent and feel guilty for ever thinking you simply weren't enough for them#You learn that you were enough and that you are loved and that's why you were sent away#I just really want to see that#stephanie brown#dc#tim drake#ma kent#ma and pa kent#story ideas#adoption

The counter continued to chime as you tried each thing. The cure code.
The second chime.
You tried shouting.
The third chime.
The luck code cast.
The fourth chime.
You go for the hack, and allow yourselves to be immersed within MUSASHI's mental landscape.
Feeling yourself falling towards the earth, you land in what seems like a relatively bright, cheery clearing. Vibrant blue skies and green grasses, and a humble path leading up to a humble home. It's a very different sight than the last time you visited the mind of MUSASHI and saw the ashen remains of a violent battleground.
You approached the small house, and heard a young man's voice coming from the home. Another voice responded, one that clearly belonged to MUSASHI, who sounded like she was shoveling food in her mouth. They were in the middle of a conversation.
MAN'S VOICE: "What, you forget your manners? The kids are in town running errands, it'd do you some good to at least wait for them to get back before you started stuffing your face."
MUSASHI'S VOICE: "No can do! I've got a busy day today, you know? I've gotta go down to town to see what work I can get."
As you approached and looked in through the open door, you saw two figures sitting across from each other on a mat, eating. One of them was a young man, though the way he spoke was a lot more brusque and aged than his face would suggest. Honestly, after meeting RIKYU, this didn't seem as strange as it should be.
YOUNG(?) MAN: "Aren't you gettin' tired of swinging those things around? It's a peaceful era, you can't just beat down bandits for the rest of your life. I can show you around the forge, and… And slow down while you're eatin'! Good grief, you'll choke."
MUSASHI(?): "Mm… sorry! I was just starving! I was up training all night, hehehe…"
YOUNG(?) MAN: "Again, huh? Well... it does feel good to see someone appreciate my cooking. Just take it easy, okay?"
The man rolled his eyes before realizing you were in the doorway. His eyebrows raised slightly as he stood up, bowing his head.
BLACKSMITH: "Oh. Didn't realize we had guests. I'm ████████, a blacksmith. This is Bennosuke."
You didn't catch the blacksmith's name, it was mostly sort of garbled. MUSASHI's name was clearer. It wasn't the right one, but it was clearer.
'BENNOSUKE': "Nice t'meetcha!"
MUSASHI called out, her mouth still full of rice. It didn't seem like she recognized you. The Blacksmith squinted at her before walking, sternly grabbing her by the arm and pulling her to her feet, before bowing his head again and lowering hers.
BLACKSMITH: "Pardon her. She was born a wild mountain boy that was raised by oni. However, she was cursed by the gods into a woman's body and her brain hasn't fully caught up to her situation yet. Please be patient as she continues to get her shit together."
The samurai's eyes widened as she stood up straight, putting her hands on her hips indignantly.
BENNOSUKE: "I was not! And you're seriously scolding me with that foul mouth of yours, old man?!"
BLACKSMITH: "Yeah, yeah. Sure. With a name like 'Bennosuke', your parents must have been desperate for a boy anyways. Still…"
The old-young blacksmith cleared his throat, glancing away for a moment as he regained his professionalism.
BLACKSMITH: "Anyways, if you're lookin' for metalwork, I'm your man. If you want someone to scare away from troublemakers, then she's all yours. Just be sure to pay her properly."
BENNOSUKE: "Yep! But we can talk shop after I finish eating."
BLACKSMITH: "It's a miracle that you get hired at all with that attitude… again, apologies about her. I'll make some tea while you wait, heard that there's been a bit of a wind chill comin' through."
MUSASHI shrugged, sitting back down and continuing to calmly eat her food.
Still, you had about 6 real-world seconds to handle this and snap MUSASHI out of this dream. It'd be pretty hard to keep count, especially with how weird 'time' in dreams could get. Still--
You heard in the distance a ringing of a bell. It didn't seem to come from any plausible direction, and nobody else reacted to it.
Five real-world seconds then. At least you could hear the bell from here, but you still weren't sure about how much you'd have between chimes.

What’s your opinion on Junko? I’m personally not the biggest fan of her, but I’m certainly fascinated by her character, so I would like to know what you think!
Also btw your art is super good! :D
thank you for asking and thank you for your compliment!
oh, don't even. i love junko. not in the "i will hold her and kiss her on her cheek shes my baby" way but in the "oh she is fucking awful, downright putrid, i hate it." way. there are definitely Weird Things about her, like the shit with mukuro and all, but what can ya do about it. sigh .
but aside from that, and with the knowledge i've only seen from the games so far, i think she's a good villain. kodaka wrote her very nicely, so she really fits as the face of the franchise. obviously i dont think any big fan of her would support her morals. and thats the best part of a villain. you dont have to agree with them to like them. i love me a fucked up character. i do think that sometimes, junko is really annoying in the endings, but i blame it mostly on the writers, like with the way she was recycled in SDR2 while throwing izuru away when there was more potential, and then... the Entirety of V3. we wont get into that though.
i do think shes a bit annoying with like, that personality shift she does when shes bored or whatever. but theres obviously more beyond that. shes a literal monster, a master manipulator, so i like to indulge into her and mukuros relationship because toxic siblings is what gets me goin'. like, her tricking mukuro into growing attached to her, only to have never loved her familially and to stab her in the back so early on in THH. and also her with the remnants.. god .. like, we can all agree the way she brainwashed them was dumb lol so in my mind it was definitely up close and personal. which interests me a lot more! her being an expert liar and guilt tripper, who can sweep anyone under her finger by saying the right thing at the right time, no matter how smart her victim thinks they are, is pretty cool dont ya think. and for her to just swing back at her victims time and time again even if they escape her grasp, because this girl does not know when to stfu and disappear, UGH big fan me
junko also just does a Lot for other characters by herself, not just on her own or to mukuro. she fuels the remnants heavily and personally, which gave me a lot of inspiration and fascination for the absolutely terrible things they all did with/to her. like honestly, the gaslighting, manipulating and brainwashing, and, to my headcanon/interpretation atleast; cannibalism, meat banquets and murder parties, are really dark n' cool topics to me. junko is purposefully portrayed as this cute pigtailed girl who could do no wrong or she has atleast done enough to where you think it couldnt get worse, but before you know it, It Gets Worse. she welcomed the remnants' previously despair enamored selves to take a part of her with them because she knows no matter what, it'd haunt them to their last breath. and we Know that she may never really be gone, when theres a phantom hole inside of those who took parts of her/perhaps consumed her
but yeah umm something something shes vile but i really enjoy her, shes a nice villain, though a bit obnoxious and Weird sometimes, i dont mind her, she carries herself and many other characters interestingly. i totally understand why people dislike her though, but she lets my brain have a field day with scenarios and headcanons. really makes ya think like, damn how did it all go so wrong

Finally got a chance to play volume 2! Not too bad imo but they've definitely had stronger openings to the season
first off, no new hair/clothes (except maybe one sleepwear option) and that's a shame because we could benefit from some better stuff
so the speed dating sucked. Like I understand Finn and Hamish are locked right now but to not talk to them at all sucks. Finn at least has Kat as an excuse but Hamish straight up just avoids MC and I'm like why???
Also just to nitpick but like you can go on a mini date with Natasha after Finn's thing, but technically it eats up into Henri's time, which doesn't make sense because his date was the correct amount of time, and with the placement of it, it would be so easy to just pretend it was eating up into MC's date with Finn that already got cut short by Kat? I'm just confused by the logistics here.
And the three LI's info dump on you and I understand what they're doing here and it's because their routes will merge so gotta get all the unique stuff that actually makes you like a character out now. But oh in another world I can imagine these talks getting drawn out over time and you get to see Chen try to prove he's changed and mature like he says but sometimes falters, and that Henri becomes the mature dad friend of the group, etc.
I will say I'm enjoying the triangle between Chen, Henri, and MC though bc usually the loyal route OG guys always feel independent of each other and don't really interact in the beginning. Like S8, if MC flirts with Oakley then Jin and Jack don't really do anything about it. Like I'm enjoying Henri being a little jealous.
Then there's the "Kat kiss gate" which, I need fusebox to stop calling every minor miscommunication a -gate. Like I'm all in for a bit irl but EVERY season and EVERY problem does not warrant this lingo I'm sorry.
It also isn't as romantic as they're making it out to be, like Henri saying he couldn't stop thinking about MC with Chen so he kisses Kat is weird behavior and I know it'd be the same if Henri and Chen were swapped, but it feels so out of place for Henri to be acting that way. Like I said, Chen claiming to be a reformed player could work with this because he hasn't let go of all his player ways, but I just don't see it with Henri.
Hide and seek is very odd as a love island game but sure it worked well enough. The individual moments with each islander is nice enough, but nothing really stands out for me. It's just pleasant.
every now and then the dialogue is great though like MC saying "a kiss? on love island? no way" and also I made my MC be a little messy this episode (which I'm going to pretend is warranted bc she seemed to jump in too fast with Stefan her last season so I'm just letting the pendulum swing the other way) by kissing Henri after finding him and her calling it a "post date peck, since that's your thing" is so funny, I love her.
Then the girls hide and Finn finds MC but they don't talk?? come back, plssssssss. like I think we should start to get to know him by this point because I'm pretty sure he's going to be an LI, so start building the groundwork now if he's a slow burn. Personally, I think they should let us couple with Finn soon and then you can get like two or three volumes of Kat being sparky and backhanded about it before she gets dumped and then have that be the end of that. Like I know I wasn't on board fully with an all Stars season before, but now I'm like,,, well why are we not talking to the all stars?
The night under the stars thing was cute, and then they used it as an excuse to be like "MC, while you were gone there was drama and you need to pay 17 gems to find out" pshhhh
is that a euphemism or....
I was going to say we didn't get a lot of memorable Hamish moments this volume but then the breakfast scene happens, and first off, I love everyone giving Natasha nicknames but especially Natasha and Hamish's friendship and he calls her Nat Nat. Then also "you went on a date with a dog" had me dying. And then "she wanted to date my best friend" made me sad so uh he better get that character arc and backstoey where we learn he's overcompensating for feeling like second best all the time and MC encourages him to chill out just a little on the cockiness
that being said, I do think they've toned down his disgustingness although he's still cringe. it sometimes feels staler than s6 but then also at times not as over the top as s6, but it feels like he's got less screen time too, so I'm not sure what to make of that. I'm intrigued about his route but I can't say I'll go for it, and for me that especially depends on what Stefan is gonna be like
Because MC shares a Stefan story and he seems sweet like in my head he's on the shy side (which is great bc the other guys rn are all pretty confident guys) but he caught MC's attention and is like head over heels for her, but then post love island was just an absolute wreck. I'm just curious how fusebox is gonna drop the ball, like is it gonna be right away or....?
but I am getting fusebox trying to redo ex in the villa vibes this season yall are right 😬
I also wish the second chance romance plot somehow went to Finn though, like I'm hoping somebody's gonna write the fanfic where S5 MC is the main character this season instead.
I thought the twist that MC and Chen were going on a date but with other people instead was very fun tbh
and the ex thing, OK so Stefan next right? the timing feels right I thought maybe they were gonna stretch that out too long
so I didn't think it was that bad this volume. I can see why everyone's growing bored of it though, like you can see they're preparing to merge routes and the first half of the volume is mostly just about Finn and Kat (again), there's more Stefan talk, some of the characters are getting stale, etc. But I haven't gotten particularly angry at it yet (minus the pay for info things again but thats every season), so I'm gonna keep a little but of hope ig

My friend @transparentkittenheart asked me for 6 and 21 from the wedding asks, so here we are!
6. Venue So, the ceremony is definitely outside, at Morrigan's request. I've said it before, but druid's gotta druid lol. Going too far out of the city would be a bit of a hassle, so I'm thinking it's in a nice park or maybe a clearing by a wooded area just outside of town. For the reception, there's a ton of feast halls, inns, etc. in the city, so I doubt it would be too hard to find one nearby that they could rent out for the evening. It'd definitely need to be a decently big space, though. Between their friends, the Dekarios clan, and Morrigan's family and Circle members, it's not a small gathering lol
21. Dancing "I knew you were a graceful man, Wyll, but I hear you're quite the dancer too. I've been known to trip the light fantastic myself. Mine was a popular hand at the annual Blackstaff's Ball." - Gale
There is absolutely dancing. One of my favorite things about Gale is his enthusiasm for learning about his partner, and for teaching. So I like to imagine in the lead-up to the wedding he teaches Morrigan some of the more formal dances he's familiar with, and Morrigan teaches him some of the dances she learned in her Circle growing up. And given the number of guests they both have, it's safe to say there's a fair mix of both going on at the reception.
You know the dancing you see in ball scenes in regency pieces? I'd imagine that's the type of dance that Gale would be most familiar with, whereas Morrigan would be used to something a bit more improvisational. Not quite swing dancing, but not dissimilar, if that makes sense.
Thanks for the tag!! 💖

Lente's Hymn: Resistance - Chapter 2
-------
An emotional reunion.
-------
Read on AO3 or keep reading after the jump
content warnings: none
< Previous Chapter | Next Chapter >
------
Here comes the a n g s t
Part of this chapter might seem familiar, as I wrote the actual 'reunion' as a prompt for Vierapril. Some things with the boys have changed since then, and now I have the proper context of the Bozja story (I had forgotten some details at the time). Don't worry though, it's still painful. :,)
"You're the last one to get here, you know? What took you so long?"
Gods, must we talk the entire way? This man is so insufferable. Laurent looks at the airship pilot, who decided yelling over the whipping winds around them was the best way to hold a conversation.
"I said, you're the--"
"I heard you." Laurent lets out a huff. "I was farther from Gangos than the others."
"Is that so? Where were you stationed?"
I might jump off this airship to get away from him. Laurent pointedly looks away from the other man, not answering.
The pilot does not get the hint. "Hah, not the talkative type are you?" Laurent continues to ignore him, but the pilot is undeterred. "You're a lot like the Warrior of Light, you know?"
Laurent sighs loudly. "Am I, now?" Of all people to be compared to…
The airship pilot laughs and, like everything else about the man, it grated on Laurent's already thin nerves. "Yes! Nice man, wants to help, big sword. But he doesn't talk much and has a glare that can cut stone. You'll both get along great!"
"I'm not looking to be friends with him."
The pilot lets out another short laugh. "Yes, but you'll have to work with him. Stand shoulder to shoulder against the Garleans! It might help to try to get to know one another." The airship slows slightly. "Nearly there!"
Laurent glances over the airship's railing to take stock of the encampment. Small… but obviously not where the main army is. I'm sure I'll be shipped to the frontlines soon, anyway.
~
"Here it is--Blade's Resolve, the very soul of the Queensblade. Wield it well."
Laurent tries a few test swings before nodding. "I will." But why did they want a Dalmascan gunbreaker for this? I doubt it'd be welcome if I ask, though… "When will I be going to the frontlines?"
"No need to be so hasty." The leader of the Resistance--Laurent hadn't bothered to get his name--raised his hands up. "You only just got here, we wouldn't want you to the field already fatigued."
"I'll be fine--"
The Hrothgar quickly cuts him off before Laurent continues his protest. "You'll spend the night here, and you'll move out in the morning with the remainder of the troops."
"...Very well."
The commander nods, then rubs his chin. "There should be a tent for you near the end of the encampment. Rest well, Blade Elja."
Laurent nods in turn, then makes his way towards the tent. At least I don't need to talk to anyone else today… As he begins to lift the flap to his tent, however, something catches his eye.
What in the world…? How do they even wield that? Laurent stares at a long, curved greatsword strapped to a soldier's back, nearly as tall as the person themselves. Considering their slight frame, Laurent didn't understand how they could lift the weapon, let alone swing it.
Perhaps it's one of the Blades… they are deceptively light. "Didn't that pilot mention that the Warrior of Light used a big sword?" Laurent continues to mumble to himself as he looks back to the soldier. "I suppose that's him. What was his name again? I guess it doesn't matt--"
That's when he saw it--bright, powder blue Viera ears, and shoulder length, somewhat messy hair of the same color. …Eir!? Is it really--no. No, that's impossible. Laurent shakes his head as he watches the Viera walk to the beach to stare out at the water.
Eir never had the strength to use heavy weapons, he never could wield that sword on the Warrior of Light's back. And besides, his name wasn't Gale, it was something else. It was…
"Kris. His name's Kris. So it… it can't be him." He lets a long breath out, then turns to the tent to open the flap. However, he freezes, simply staring at the opening instead of going in.
I can't keep acting like this, Eir, he's… Laurent lets the tent flap drop out of his hand. It's been years… I'm simply seeing ghosts.
The gunbreaker gently touches the earring he's wearing--a memento of his lost love--then lets out a frustrated sigh and turns around. I'll just introduce myself, see who this Warrior of Light is. Then I can let this go and get some rest.
Laurent takes a deep breath, then quickly walks towards the bright-haired Viera. When he gets close enough that he notices Kris's ears twitch towards his direction, Laurent calls out to him. "Kris…?"
The Warrior of Light suddenly tenses. Any additional words were caught in Laurent's throat--he just needed the damn man, the damn lookalike, to turn around so everything could go back to the way it was--
But then he's met with emerald eyes, ones he hadn't seen in four years, ones filled with recognition and shock.
~
Kris stares out over the water once again. These past few days have been… peaceful. I'll miss looking out at the water when this is all done, it's a beautiful view.
He knew the last of the Dalmascans made it to Gangos, so he was set to head out with the others tomorrow. I should have made an effort to speak with some of them… I don't know who they even are. Granted, it won't be hard to find them, with what the glowing weapons and all.
The Viera hears a bit of noise behind him, his ears twitching instinctively back. It's not Bajsaljen, this person is much quieter. I almost didn't hear them--
"Kris…?"
The sounds of the voice made Kris tense up and his chest tighten. No… It can't be. The voice that said his name was familiar--far too familiar. He knew it was a possibility, but…
Kris slowly turns around, hoping he misheard, and when meeting fushsia eyes, knowing he didn't. "Laurent… it's you…"
The other Viera stays silent for a moment, confusion whit plain on his face. It doesn't take long, however, for it to turn to hurt--hurt, and anger. "Yes, it is me. Am I disturbing you, o great Warrior of Light?"
Kris looks away from Laurent, spinning one of the rings on his fingers. "I… I can't blame you for being angry--"
"Angry? It's been four godsdamned years, Gale! Everyone thought you were dead! I never knew if I'd see you again!"
He looks away, silent. What can I even say? I'd react the same if I were in his position…
After a moment, Kris hears him scoff and take a step forward. "Nothing to say? Seems to be a pattern with you. What was it? Tired of being a soldier, so you sought out loftier goals? Got sick of having me aro--"
"No. It's not any of that." Kris whips his head up to look back at Laurent, frustration quickly bubbling up. "I just--" I wanted nothing more than for you to be with me. "--I had to keep you safe."
The answer wasn't satisfactory, and Kris knew it wouldn't be. It doesn't take long for Laurent to state the obvious. "Safe!? We're in the middle of a godsdamned warzone! We had been for decades! What exactly is safe about all this!?"
Kris looks away from the dark-haired Viera again. "So many have died because they were simply near me. They didn't deserve that fate… and neither did you. Being on a battlefield without me on it was safer."
"I…" Laurent takes a small step back, expression unreadable. It only takes a moment for it to return to anger, however. "My safety is not your godsdamned choice to make!"
Laurent looks down at his hands, bangs covering his face, but the hurt in his voice was evident. "I didn't even know if you were dead or not. You just disappeared. All these years and you were alive… making a name for yourself, even. As if you just discarded the past like it was nothing."
No… it was not nothing… you are not nothing… Kris's chest tightens again, but he remains silent. Fuchsia eyes scan his face, as if waiting for an objection--and when one doesn't come, Laurent shakes his head and turns away.
"Very well, Kris. Stay out of my way. When this is done, I'll be gone and you can continue ignoring your past."
Kris watches him walk back to the encampment for a moment, before turning to the sunset on the horizon. I wish it didn't have to be like this. That it didn't have to hurt so much. He sighs, looking down at the rings on his hand. But… this is for the best, for him. The pain will fade in time. And he'll be alive. That's all that matters to me.
The Warrior of Light knew he was lying to himself, but it didn't matter if it was a truth or a lie. It simply was, and he simply had to deal with it. No matter how painful it was.
He waits a few moments longer--to be sure Laurent was out of sight--and turns back to the encampment, heading to his tent. It all starts tomorrow… best get this over with quickly, so that we can all move on.

Spooky Month: The Dating Sim
Part 4
(I'm mainly just doing this because it's fun to watch, but this is basically a spooky month interactive thing/poll which is kinda like a dating sim. Of course, only the adult characters can be your love interests. So do take that in mind.)
(Also clarifying since the house on the hill reminded me—Roy's uncle is not a love interest even though he's an adult for obvious reasons. Bob is also not included, because even though he's an adult, he kinda knew half of the adult cast when they were kids so it'd be kinda weird. Also he kind of dies anyway so it'd be pointless if he fell in love with some person he barely knew.)
————
You decided to tell him your name.
The man looked at you for a moment, and he smiled. "Heh.. thats a nice name. I'm Kevin." Kevin looked down at the ground, and then looked back at you. "I'll try and pay you back sometime for this, okay? Not a lot of people just come in here and help me with things like this, so.." The man awkwardly scratched the back of his head, looking off to the side with a slight smile.
You, in response, said that it was fine. That he didn't need to find some way to pay you back if he didn't want to.
Kevin merely stared at you for a moment, before saying, "..are you sure? I don't want you to feel like I'm ungrateful for your help or something."
You said in response not to worry, that he didn't seem ungrateful to you.
Kevin didn't give any actual reply immediately. But he gave you a small smile. "..we—well, alright."
After a bit of awkward silence, you said you would be going now, but that maybe you would come back to check out the shop more later. Kevin raised his head up, and he blinked. "Oh.. uh, okay.. well, see you around then." Kevin slowly got up, and as did you. He brushed his hands against his pants, seeming to want to get any trace of water off. Even if he had been completely dry by now, he still had priorities.
You then looked at him, and gave him one last smile. You gave him a friendly farewell. Though you did add that just incase he'd need help again, you'd swing by occasionally. Kevin tried to speak, sounding a little bit anxious almost. "Oh—no! You don't have to do that.."
You only said that you wanted to help, and that it was no problem.
Kevin looked away, but he gave another smile. "Well.. alright. Just don't feel pressured, okay?"
You replied that you wouldn't, and eventually, you began to walk out of the store. Though you did your best to walk around the area that had been just cleaned by you and Kevin.
As you walked out, you thought that even though you had just met Kevin, he seemed like a pretty nice guy. If no one who came around really helped him, maybe you could be that person. You wouldn't mind it after all.
You felt the cold air against your skin. In the distance behind the candy store though, you saw an ominous shadow of a house up on a far away hill. It was practically looming over the hill itself. Yet even so, you didn't want this to be the only place you took a look around at yet.

What are rare-pairs that you’re passionate about?
Who was your first OC?
Are you happy with how your favorite canon muse was portrayed in canon?
How do you describe writing / rp to others?
Questions for the mun!
Rare-pairs... oh my god I have so many of those that I'm drawing a blank right now. I think the one that comes to mind is strangely Da.igo Doji.ma and Goro Maji.ma from the Yakuza games lmao, maybe even Ichiban and Zhao from the same games, idk I just vibe with them. But Daiji.ma was my shit for the longest time. And also probably Kuroiwa and Yagami from the Yakuza spin-off, Judgment. OH! And also Soma and the professor dude or like... his subordinate Akutsu (but I guess that last one wasn't a rarepair) from the sequel of the spin-off. Does Maevelight count as rarepair? Cause they'd be my top rarepair as of now (and maybe Zack and Cloud if they count as rarepair) I'm wondering if I'll like Home.lander and Fire.cracker but that probably won't be a rarepair lmao.
My first OC, I am unsure if I can pinpoint... I think it was this servant girl called Lilian I made for a canon character, when I used to try and run from my male/male ships to be "normal" lmfao! My first OC here though was my AI, AIROS. My sweet bean, my lovely android who is trying to learn about the world without knowing he is a spyware watching over the people. I had a lot of verses for him... maybe I could add one for the boys, but he'd be too much of a good boy to be able to survive in that world... Though it'd be a good chance to give him a real-life FC I guess.
I have so many favorite canons that change with what I'm currently obsessed with. Like, before the boys it was Adler and I immediately 'hated' him as a mechanism of defense because I actually loved him a lot lmfao, his characterization was top notch in-game, so much that everyone really wants him to appear in the sequel despite the wrongdoings he did to the protagonist. Anyway, since right now I am obsessed with the boys and clearly But.cher is my favorite – it's safe to say I'm pretty satisfied with most of his portrayal in canon, as of Season 3. There is a leak that has me just a little doubtful about what they're trying to do with him going forward, but I'm hoping it's explained in a way I can get behind, they've done well, so far. Otherwise, I feel like they did a very nice, deeply flawed character that I adore. It hits all the spots I love in a character and, honestly, I feel it was tailor-made for me to love, at least the show rendition of him. I don't like the comics one at all. Aside from that, I think Raiden from Met.al Gear has been practically my sleeping agent all-time favorite or so, and I absolutely love what they did with his character (not me vibing with a "mood swings" type of character trying to do good, but also being unhinged). I miss him and his struggles a whole lot, wish they would've continued his games.
I describe rp as "I portray a character from a series or invent one and make up scenarios with friends on the internet who portray other characters. We keep the scenes going back and forth." Despite this, I don't think my mother gets it at all. My friends didn't get it at the start, until I made them rp with me via notebooks when we were in middle school, it turned into an obsession for all of us... Good times lmao.

Family Vacation
This lil fic was inspired by a weekend trip we had and the fact that I just love writing for Grace's brother as well as this lil chaos family. I hope you enjoy it.
🏷: @mrsjaderogers @bayisdying @ladylanera @semperhuggs
Caroline was just over a year old when Grace got the idea for a family vacation. The twins were almost nine months and Hadley was four months so she knew everybody would be able to travel. She ran the idea through the wifeys group chat; they could go to the beach for a few days and then there was going to be some racing at Charlotte. While she'd just seen her brother for Caroline's birthday, it never felt like long enough. Plus she hadn't seen him race in ages, and while she knew his girls usually weren't at the track with him and she missed them terribly, she thought it would be a fun time.
She found some rooms in Carolina Beach that weren't too over the top price wise since it wasn't peak summer yet being they were going the first of May, and while she knew all her pilots would complain about flying commercial, they'd just have to get over it. No way were they driving across the country with four kids. She found flights into Wilmington and secured rental cars as well. She also went ahead and booked the flights to Charlotte and got tickets to the dragstrip event. They were only going to be a few miles from her hometown, so she thought it'd be nice to show everybody where she came from. She was so excited for this trip, and she was very excited to surprise her brother.
The beach was a blast with the babies. Caroline loved the water, the sand not so much. Marcus and Nathaniel loved the sand, and even tried eating it much to Alana's dismay. Hadley was still too little to really enjoy it, but she loved laying on any one of her favorite adults and watching the kids. Jake, Bradley, and Mickey had a blast taking Caroline and the boys into the ocean while the girls suntanned and rested. It was so relaxing to just be away and enjoy the time together.
They spent four days in total there, with plans to come back or explore one of the other Carolina beaches for a longer trip. The fifth day they flew into Charlotte, and drove down to Grace's hometown. It was a small town on the outskirts of Charlotte, but it was close to the dragstrip and speedway. She showed them around, showing them her grandparents' house where she grew up even though they'd sold it. They even swing by the cemetery so Grace can leave some flowers and introduce Bradley and Caroline to her grandparents. In all, they only spend a couple hours in the town before heading north into Concord to their room for the weekend.
Friday they explore Concord, and everybody grabs some more souvenirs and mementos to remember their trip by. They don't stay out too long during the day because of the race that night. They want to give the kids enough time to rest and nap before a late night. Grace ends up napping with Caroline because she knows these events can go late into the night, especially if Kevin is winning.
They get to the dragstrip a couple of hours before the actual racing starts so they have time to walk through the pits and explore all the cars. She's hoping it will give her plenty of time to see Kevin too. She doesn't know for certain he'll be there as they hadn't talked about it last time they talked, but Grace is almost positive he will show up to race. She knows Charlotte's dragstrip will always be one of his favorite places to race since that's where he started.
The later it gets, the more nervous she gets that she drug everybody here for nothing. It was getting close to the end of tech and test and tune and her brother still wasn't there, despite her having seen a few of his Florida friends when they walked around. She left Caroline with Bradley and promised everybody she'd be right back; she had to see if they knew if he was coming or not. She just hoped they would remember her since she'd only met them a couple of times.
They were working on their cars, a crowd of people surrounding them. She knew their YouTube channels really brought in the crowds. She edged over to the side and called out to the one closest to her. "James!"
His head jerked up and looked in her direction. She gave a little wave and pointed at the shirt she had on which was one of Kevin's. "Grace?"
"Yea," she smiles when he recognized her. He let her under the rope and over into their circle. "What are you doing here?"
"Came to surprise Kev. I've got my husband and daughter with me and some friends and their kids. We'd been at the beach and I figured he'd be here when I heard about the race so we thought we'd surprise him. Except.... he's not here yet."
James looks around because Kevin had told them about the event. "Hey Ty! Yall heard from Kev?"
That gained everybody else's attention and they all noticed her. She was swarmed with hugs and welcoming greetings. "He called a few hours ago said he was still a couple out. Should be here soon."
"Thanks guys. I'll keep an eye out."
"Wait wait wait I think that's him," James smiled turning you towards where Kevin's truck was pulling in.
"Let me go get my girl."
"Bring her back here. We'll film it. His face is gonna be priceless."
"Thanks guys," she smiles. After collecting Bradley and Caroline, everybody else is gonna trail after once the video surprise is over, she returns to their tent. They had their cameras and go pros ready for different angles. Bradley tucked behind the tallest guy, which surprisingly had a couple of inches on him, while Grace carried Caroline behind James.
Kevin was unloading the car, so it ended up being the perfect setup. "Kev we have a surprise for you!" James called out once the car was beside the trailer.
"Oh yea? What now?" He chuckled as he slid out of the window. He noticed them all filming and his eyes narrowed in suspicion.
"Surprise!" Grace squealed stepping out from behind James. Caroline was giggling and clapping even though she really didn't know why until she saw her uncle. Kevin's face was priceless and he easily took Caroline and pulled Grace into his arms for a hug.
"What are you doing here?" He asks her as they pull back from the hug.
"Figured you'd be here. Wanted to surprise you. We took a mini family vacation out to the coast and then came back this way to watch you race."
"Well you got me but....." he knocked on the side of the trailer and the side door opened revealing his three girls. "Surprise back!"
"Auntie Grace!" Grace had an armful of two girls while Sam jumped straight into Bradley's arms.
"You've got the girls?!"
"Sure do. My week so we're gonna have some fun at the track."
"Well this is a nice surprise," Grace smiles as Cara reaches for Caroline. She had a feeling there was some drama there, but she'd get it out of him later.
Everybody with cameras peeled off promising to send the footage over. Kevin gave Caroline to Cara but stayed close. Her baby ear muffs made her look adorable, coupled with her baby Kevin racing shirt and Kevin loved it. The rest of the gang joined yall by Kevin's car, which the boys absolutely admired. Kevin easily took Hadley who smiled at him and gurgled happily, as he walked around the car with Bradley, Jake and Mickey. Jake was pushing the twins in a stroller and they just wide-eyed looked at the car.
The girls talked a mile a minute to their aunt, Baylie and Alana, since they hadn't seen her since Christmas, their mom not letting them come with Kev for Caroline's party. "We actually have one more surprise," Grace smiles catching Kevin's attention once they're done inspecting the car. They'd not told him at Caroline's party wanting to wait until they knew what they were having to tell him since he couldn't be at their gender reveal.
That catches Kevin's attention. Mickey takes Hadley back as Baylie and Alana covertly grab their phones to film and take pictures. Kev easily takes Caroline from Cara when she reaches for him once more as he gives his sister his full attention. "And?" He asks when she drags out the silence to drive him crazy.
She turns sideways and tugs her shirt a little tighter around her. "Read Caroline's shirt." On the back of her shirt it says "Uncle Kev’s fav until my little brother arrives."
His eyes snap back to hers and then to her belly. "Seriously?!"
"Yea. It was a surprise to us too," she laughs. Kevin pulls her in for another hug as they explain to the girls their getting another cousin. The girls are all excited, but Kevin finally breaks them up. "As much fun as this has been, I've gotta go make a pass before the tune session is over."
"Be careful," Grace says as Bradley takes Caroline and the girls go with them back to their seats. Kev's first pass isn't the greatest; the track prep wasn't the best and he spun as soon as he took off.
"Ouch," Sam sighed seeing her dad's time. At eight she understood more about racing than most adults. The perks of being her daddy's little mini me.
"Daddy won't like that," Ava sighed after Sam explained it to her.
Grace couldn't help but giggle. "No he probably won't sweetheart, but it'll be ok."
"Uncle Bradley can we go back to Daddy?"
Bradley hides his smile at Sam's request and nods. "Yep come on racing princess. Let's go see what he's going to do to fix it."
Grace slipped Caroline into her carrier and they headed back to the pits. Racing would start in the next fifteen minutes, so they decided to let the twins run off some energy by Kev's trailer while he worked on his tune. Hadley had already snuggled into Mickey's chest in her carrier and fallen asleep. Ava ran around with the twins, making sure they didn't fall or get hurt; Cara stayed glued to her aunt's side, while Sam watched over Kevin's shoulder everything he was doing.
Once the racing actually began, they went back to their seats. Sam wasn't happy about not going to the staging lanes with Kev, but she ended up with Bradley's attention so she was happy. Grace smiled just watching them. It had already been the best night, no matter what happened with Kev's racing. She managed to ask someone near them to snap a picture of all of them.
After Kevin barely wins the first one, the girls walk back over to the pits, leaving the boys to watch some more racing. The twins are fussy, so Alana pushes them around getting them to sleep while the girls congratulate their dad. He takes Caroline once more, while he works on the tune a little more. Grace can't help but snap a pic of the cute scene. Caroline is almost asleep, her little head laying on Kev's shoulder as he just works away.
All four of the babies end up falling asleep before Kev's next pass. Mickey and Bradley take Hadley and Caroline in their carriers so Baylie and Grace can have a break. The twins are sound asleep, laid back in their stroller. They decide to stand on the fence to watch the next few passes, and once again Kev gets the victory, putting him into the final. There wasn't as many cars there that night, so they had shorter rounds. Kev easily sails to victory in his class, and the girls are so happy for their dad. Since the babies are asleep, they decide to stay for the winner's circle so Grace can grab some pics for Kev and with his girls.
They make plans to meet up with Kev and the girls in the morning for breakfast and to spend the day together. They have a late flight that night, in the hopes the kids will sleep through it, so they have all day to spend. Since Kev won Friday night, he decided to skip the Saturday passes and spend the day with his family. Overall, it was one of the best vacations any of them had been on in a really long time, and they were all looking forward to the next one, maybe even to Florida that time.

Choon-he: On his way there...it's concerning really
Seo-jun: Good enough for me, I need to get on his good side. Choon-he: I know, I've buttered him up. Seo-jun: Good, thank you again. The sooner we can break we can dirt on him, the sooner we get rid of him.
Choon-he: I'm willing to do anything to help our Queen, I can't believe his family.
Choon-he: Ho-jun, this is my good friend, Seo-jun. He went to school with Eun-joo. Ho-jun: Oh really?
Seo-jun: Yes really Ho-jun: What was she like in high school? Seo-jun: I couldn't tell you much, stuck up, bossy, frigid. Ho-jun: That sounds like my wife, I guess things don't change. Seo-jun: She has to be different for you.
Ho-jun: We wish. Seo-jun: We'll I heard about the news of a kid so maybe things will change when you have a little one Seo-jun: I'm shocked you even managed to marry her
Choon-he: No one in school pegged her as the marrying type, we all thought she'd grow old and the throne would go to one of her sisters kids
Ho-jun: I made her an offer she couldn't refuse...let me get another drink.
Choon-he: Her sister by the way, a total cutie Ho-jun: She isn't bad Seo-jun: I had eyes on her first, seems way sweeter Ho-jun: She is, I could put in a good word or try too at least

Seo-jun: There are growing concerns that...the Queen is trying to be a little too inclusive. Ho-jun: Those mutts Seo-jun: Yes, the Queen seems to have a spot and it's understandable but the people around her...they should be discouraging her. Ho-jun: You're in like minded company.
Ho-jun: The spellcasters are at least a little more presentable, we don't interact with the others and it should be kept that way. Though, Eun-joo also feels that way. Seo-jun: Well, maybe we could help each other out.
Choon-he: And on that note, I'm going to head out to the dance floor, you joining? Seo-jun: No, I think I'm going to head outside for a drink, it's nice out. You should've grilled and had a party outside. Choon-he: I know, I know but I thought it was going to rain today....oh well
Ho-jun: I think I'm going to join Seo-jun Choon-he: Both of you are not fun
Ho-jun: ....And it's so hard, I'm the perfect husband but she won't give in Seo-jun: What's her love language, I had an ex that kept going on and on about it
Ho-jun: I have no idea but I'm tired of being celibate Seo-jun: A man does have needs...you have sex since... Ho-jun: It's been months! I bet she wouldn't care if I looked elsewhere
Seo-jun: That doesn't sound like something a king would say
Seo-jun: But then again, I hear you're a crown prince
Ho-jun: I think we're going to be very good friends

☆SEMI-OPEN☆
☆Spring Colour-verse Vanny and Gregory☆
☆Fuve Nights At Freddy's: Security Breach☆
▪︎This is an AU of mine, and this is basically a starter Iwrote but it involves both Vanny and Gregory, so if someone wants to respond they can though it'd probably make most sense as vanny or gregory based on my au.▪︎
Aside from that, this can be simply enjoyed as a writing example/solo/deabble
"Gregory-!!"
The boy ran into the atrium with a malicious hatred as he tore out of Fazerblast in a panic, nearly tripping over his own feet as he did so.
Vanny followed behind in a slower pace, not really sure following him was the best idea however there was really no other way to express her point without his presence.
"Gregory, your friends are i'm worried about you, please come out."
She almost hummed the call as she slowly encircled the area, carefully looking through things.
Meanwhile the panicked boy had slid his watch on top of a display, in order to disrupt his location before running off to find a hiding place,
" I may have lost my temper earlier..."
Vanny gave in a soft tone as she made her way around and Gregory only panicked more as he slipped behind a display that was close to a wall, occasionally glancing around its side to try and see Vanny on the far side of the atrium compared to where he was.
Finding the watch before the boy she sighed a bit looking at it, admirably, a little sad.
"-It was just a gL̵̙̱̮̼̟͙̿̄̑̍̍͐͌̉̚͜I̸̹̮̪͈͖̘̺͈̤̩̝̦̼̽̓̋͑̐͊͆͛̈́̈́͑̍͜͠Ṫ̵̗͔̪̩̖͕̪̿̾̂̉͋͂͝ch." She shook her head a bit, genuinely trying to ward it off.
'It won't happen again..." hopefully.
The young boy was not quite buying it. Vanny had been nice to him this whole time, but something like that was genuinely frightening, and it was unprovoked! He couldn't believe it and he wasn't quite sure he wanted her to know where he was anymore.
Vanny definitely realised she had been Gregory's trusted peer in this situation, and that this was detrimental to that trust, but there wasn't much she could do. It was something she had little control over.
She could say it wouldn't happen again as she wanted, but really, it could happen at any time.
"It's been a difficult day for all of us..." She tried again as she picked up where she left off, looking behind and under things, wondering what the places are that a kid would hide.
Seeing Vanny get closer his heart rate spiked, this was not good, he was not sure this was the best place to hide anymore. He slipped out from behind the standing display and started in a sprint again.
"Why don't you come out and we can play a game together." She tried, kids like games, right? Would that work?
She turned hearing the tapping of his footfalls, only to see a brief blur of the direction he ran in.
'Why are you running from me?' She almost asked but knew full well the answer and decided better of it. She couldn't imagine how scared he felt, and definitely couldn't even fathom a way he'd believe her.
Gregory had little thought other than 'keep running' as he pushed himself to keep going as far as he could, trying to avoid standing displays and decorative plants as he did, and it was surprisingly hard not to smack face first into something.
He cut a corner, swinging through an intrance way to something attached to the atrium. Vanny was close behind and that only panicked him more as he looked around quickly trying to figure out what to do since this room only had one entrance and one exit that he knew of. The room he had stumbled into was a playroom for younger kids, kid's cove he thinks was the name, but didn't have time to linger on is as he cut to the side running over to the play structure closest to hide. He successfully slammed his leg into the hard plastic making a LOT more noise than intended, however he did make it into hiding before Vanny entered. In his partial solitude he tried not to breath as heavily as his body wanted him to, and his hand was against his knee he slammed into the wall of the structure, he tried his best to ignore the throbbed pain it caused, and hoped it would stop soon and just bruise later.
Vanny, on the other hand, was slowly circling the room, glancing around play structures and furniture. Gregory watched her carefully through the crack or doorway that had the room visible from the angle it sat. Seeing her on the opposite side of the room from the door he waited until her back was turned before taking his shot and darting out of the play structure. This apparently was not a good idea, because his leg still hurt a lot and did not like the idea of running.
He hit the floor rather hard, and the decorative carpeting on kids cove only became a nuisance as it ran an irritating contact burn along his forearms, knees, and shins.
Of course Vanny was quick to notice and approach with a bit of concern.
"Stay away from me!" Gregory yelled in her direction as he pulled himself up enough to start a crawl. Against her base judgment, vanny did stop looking over the boy as he scrambled around, eventually managing to heav himself upward into a standing position.
"Gregory I know you're upset with me, but at least let me look at that. I'm a doctor you know." This would probably be the only chance she had at redemption so she decided to try and take it.
Gregory was genuinely surprised that she had stopped when he said, and felt now he was in an odd kind of stand off with her. He was more than aware she could run at him and grab him with ease from this distance, and he tried to remain alert of that as well as keeping the location of the doorway constantly in mind as he watched her.
"How do I know you're not lying!!" He fired back.
"After you can run off wherever." She sighed in response, holding out his watch and shaking it a bit before setting it on the near by structure.
" It's not like I could rind you very easily." She said as she crossed her arms.
