Satan warming up to Lucifer

Headcanon:

At first whenever Satan was on dinner duty he would make foods Lucifer couldn't stand texture wise. There were no alternatives available, just what Lucifer couldn't eat. At that point they butted heads and fought even more frequently than now. Lucifer eventually gave up fighting Satan on this particular matter and resigned himself to eating in his study after dinner. (Satan knew Lucifer's texture issues instinctively, making them rather easy to seek out.)

The more Satan learned about norms and feelings, the more he adopted them. Yes, he had trouble feeling most emotions other than anger but he grew more into loving his brothers even if he couldn't feel it.

At first Satan tried making small portions of food Lucifer could eat alongside the stuff he couldn't. It was meant as a step to not exclude Lucifer from meal time without showing he might not hate him as much as he let on. Unfortunately that didn't work since Beel ate the food before Lucifer even had a chance to get his fill, if anything at all.

It took much longer for Satan to grow frustrated enough to furiously cook a meal that Lucifer could eat and would actually like. He was so strongly bubbling with rage that he nearly destroyed the kitchen! At the dinner table everyone could eat Satan's food for once, though he did flip the table when someone pointed out that Lucifer liked the food and decided to tease him about it.

Lucifer still holds these memories dear as a milestone for how far Satan has come. Everytime Satan cooks (even if Lucifer pissed him off before that) Lucifer appreciates the fact that he can still eat the food. It might not always be his favorite or even far from it. But he takes it as a sign of care that Satan didn't resolve to cooking something he couldn't handle.

re: timing of mentor reaping

ooh both options are delicious. the tragedy of obi-wan operating per usual and volunteering only for anakin to be called soon after is appealing, but i feel like mentor reaping after the tributes could be really interesting.

like on obi-wan’s end, the horror of anakin being called could freeze him in his place, also make him think about the year he put his name in multiple times and wondering if he lied and did it again, thinking about having to mentor someone he wants to die so that anakin makes it out, etc. and then on anakin’s end, i feel like even if he is nonchalant-ish about being reaped, the moment that would create insecurity/break him momentarily would be obi-wan pausing to volunteer as mentor bc he would follow obi-wan anywhere and and kill to come back to him and why is obi-wan not doing the same? when rlly obi-wan is just too shocked/still processing to react in a timely manner

so this absolutely mirrors my thoughts and why i'm torn!

if obi-wan's 'reaping' is first and he volunteers to be the mentor regardless of his name not being drawn because the one chosen is pregnant or just won five years ago and is too traumatized or something, and THEN anakin's name is drawn, it's devastating for obi-wan who now has to be his mentor and maybe watch him die while trying to do everything he can to prevent it. it's also devastating to anakin who will never know if obi-wan would have volunteered for him.

if obi-wan's reaping is after anakin's and he volunteers, a part of anakin can just be smug and satisfied -- and there can be a moment where he's watching the victor section from the stage, eyes locked on obi-wan's devastated face, and he gets to see him volunteer, gets to see him torn to shreds by the possibility of losing anakin and then maybe gets to see a hint of 'killer disassociation' flash over obi-wan's eyes as he stands to volunteer to be the mentor. anakin's obsessed with obi-wan's games and would absolutely adore obi-wan getting so angry and feral over him.

and then there's the option where the victor mentoring reaping is after the tribute drawing but obi-wan's name is pulled and he doesn't volunteer at all - either anakin's latent but powerful control of the Force makes the person drawing choose the slip of flimsi with obi-wan's name on it, or the odds are just in anakin's favor and the galaxy itself knows that where anakin goes, obi-wan should follow and vice versa, aka what anakin's been trying to tell everyone (even obi-wan) for years

i think we finally found something we have different opinions on because i physically cant see this before izuku's crush realization for me.

i just really like the idea of like when monoma and izuku sorta become buddy buddy with their shared quirk enjoyment Izuku starts to become endeared by the little things (and even the things he used to think were lowkey annoying) that monoma would do when they spend time together.

AND LIKE WHEN 1-A QUESTION"S IZUKU OR SHITS ON MONOMA IZUKU IS LIKE "guys he's actually really sweet" and someone would be like

"no he just has a soft spot for you"

and like,,, he does. monoma like absolutely refuses to admit it but he really does think that izuku is just amazing. better than him in every way. which fuels his inferiority complex but also has this mixed in admiration and it messes with monoma's head SO BAD because hes supposed to hate this boy.

he wants to be around izuku but he wants to run away from his as fast as he can when hes nearby. he wants to love him but it would never work because izuku is thousands of miles ahead of him in everything, so why would he ever look back at monoma? why would he ever choose him out of all people. its impossible, so its better to hate him then to get himself hurt by wishing on a star that doesn't even exist.

and then with Midoriya, he probably thinks that monoma lowkey dislikes him still since he sucks at expressing feelings by anything other then being mean so its like

izuku knows that monoma likes being around him because he keeps spending time with him, but sometimes he's unsure due to the things Monoma says. (AUTISM. and his self image issues lol)

so these two are just in this never ending "he doesn't like me like that" cycle and the hypothetical readers are just like

"FUUUUCCCKKKKKKKK PLEASE JUST TALK ABOUT FEELINGS OR SOMTHING FOR ONE MINUTE I BEG"

Multifandom writer: I've written fics for several different fandoms over the years, but never more than one at a time-- I get into phases lol-- so multifandom in the sense that I HAVE written for multiple fandoms, but not multifandom in the sense that I don't do it concurrently.

Keeps an outline for writing: I outline by writing WIP snippets and sticking them in order in a big document, so it's not a conventional outline and I don't really do it for every fic-- it just helps keep my thoughts and ideas in order.

Needs Coffee or Tea to write: I need coffee just to function in my day to day, never mind to write lol.

Has that one fic that deserves more attention: Sort of? In the sense that my most popular fics kudos/hits wise are pieces that were sort of spur-of-the-moment and borne of a fun idea but they weren't really passion projects, and nevertheless got WAY more attention and commemoration than works I put more effort into. If I had it my way, I'd flip them around, but it is what it is.

Wants to be a professional writer someday: Over the years I've had wild fantasies of making a career as a successful writer but I'm 1) decent but not at a professional level, 2) don't have a lot of experience fleshing out original ideas, and 3) aware that writing is not very lucrative unless you strike gold. Maybe one day, and I'd certainly love to pursue it if the winds blew right, but it's just not in the cards for me.

But the amount of times you'll be having a perfectly fun talk about biowares Unfortunate Implications because of their constant statement of real world parallels and inspirations and their handling of shit in game and how that unintended outcome effects their intended story or something and someone comes along and like fandom high horses about how it's not that deep let people enjoy things why are you being so negative whine whine bitch bitch about it is wild.

Let people engage with fandom however they enjoy. For some that will be Big Think. It will be analyzing shit, no matter their skill level at doing so, and digging into it. If that's not it for you, that's awesome! I'm sure most people like both at different times, different moods, different media properties. Sometimes you want to get in the fandom place and go 'i bet this blorbo would cry if their tamagotchi died' and other times you want to talk about the accidental 'colonialism is good' narrative in the scifi movie you just watched or how xyz thing is part of a larger character motif about 123.

Respect whatever the fuck fandom means to other people, and just don't engage with shit you don't want to. Either direction. Don't go on posts of people being silly goofy and happy and be a jag, don't go on posts being negative or critical about something and get mad about people being negative. Grow up. Move on. None of it matters.
