All this talk of the Po3 timeline got me thinking, thoughts on the timing of Breezepelrt's birth? It always seemed curious to me that Jaypaw encounters him out on the WindClan border on his first day as an apprentice because it feels like the three should be older and by a notable amount. I've heard the argument Breezepelt is actually older based on how he's listed as an apprentice and they're listed as kits in the allegiances, but that doesn't seem right. Personally I folded this little fact onto a headcanon about age tracking. Essentially, since I find it rather implausible the cats would have a concept of numbered days within a month, I take "x moons old" to mean "has lived through x times that a specific moon phase [I like to think the new moon since that one has no canon meaning or acknowledgement really] has been observed". So, Breezepaw is actually closer in age to 5 months old in human time reckoning, it just so happens his birth time worked out such that by that time he had lived through 6 sightings of the new moon. While his half siblings who are closer to 6 human months old narrowly missed being born in time to be apprenticed at 5 human months old.
