My first poem .. EVER!

Asalaamu'aleykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakathu!^^

Okay, so I was digging through some of my old notebooks, and I happened to stumble across a ripped out page, of my first poem notebook! To be honest, reading the stuff I wrote back when I was 13.... Was down right HILARIOUS.

Subhana'Allah looking back at it now, I'm not sure if I was writing poetry or just straight up rap lyrics? But I thought it would be fun to put up, since my writing skills back then exuded of a much younger and more feisty version of me lol. Especially since i've then transgressed into such a calm character (at least that's what I think!).So without further ado - Here it is: My. First. Poem.

I remember naming it: Patience/Sabr.

 It doesn't matter how much you want it to fail, or how badly you try to make it unreal.

Because at the end of the day, WE. KNOW. THE. DEAL. 

We know what's right, we know whats wrong.  

We know what's fake and we know whats fraud, so there's no point in leading us on.

At the end you'll start at the beginning, well-knowing that the Muslim Ummah will be winning.

And so i'll be ending this note with a little request, dear enemies of this Ummah; Leave us at rest.

 Your slandering words will never do us unjust, because Allah our Rabb! 

Has created for us, something so great, it can never be touched. 

In writing; a small word , but in meaning so colossal! 

Sabr is the word and what we need, in this time, of extreme greed.

So Brothers & Sisters, don't ever forget, this beautiful gift of patience.

Octo Astra II, 2020⁠ uv cured inkjet on cut-out composite aluminum⁠ edition of 3, dimension variable (overall 48" x 48")⁠ This work is inspired by Islamic art in my own modern way. It is constructed with nine rings of eight Khatim-Sulayman stars. Khatim-Sulayman stars are eight pointed stars that first began to appear in Islamic art in the middle ages. Khatim-Sulayan means “seal of the prophets” and are known to denote life, from birth to death. The eight pointed stars would continue to appear symbolically in spiritual traditions in many cultures around the world through history.⁠ ⁠ Here, each star is constructed with eight kites. When put together, the eight kites inscribe another eight pointed star in its center. Inscribed within this ring of eight, eight pointed stars, is a large eight pointed star with an octagon at its center.
