The Burden against Moab (Jeremiah 48:1–47)
1 This is the burden against Moab: Ar in Moab is ruined, destroyed in a night! Kir in Moab is devastated, destroyed in a night!
2 Dibon goes up to its temple to weep at its high places. Moab wails over Nebo, as well as over Medeba. Every head is shaved, every beard is cut off.
3 In its streets they wear sackcloth; on the rooftops and in the public squares they all wail, falling down weeping.
4 Heshbon and Elealeh cry out; their voices are heard as far as Jahaz. Therefore the soldiers of Moab cry out; their souls tremble within.
5 My heart cries out over Moab; her fugitives flee as far as Zoar, as far as Eglath-shelishiyah. With weeping they ascend the slope of Luhith; they lament their destruction on the road to Horonaim.
6 The waters of Nimrim are dried up, and the grass is withered; the vegetation is gone, and the greenery is no more.
7 So they carry their wealth and belongings over the Brook of the Willows.
8 For their outcry echoes to the border of Moab. Their wailing reaches Eglaim; it is heard in Beer-elim.
9 The waters of Dimon are full of blood, but I will bring more upon Dimon— a lion upon the fugitives of Moab and upon the remnant of the land. — Isaiah 15 | Majority Standard Bible (MSB) The Holy Bible, Majority Standard Bible is produced in cooperation with Bible Hub, Discovery Bible, OpenBible.com, and the Berean Bible Translation Committee. Lesson 050: The Unforgiven
Genesis 50:15-17 - When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, “Perhaps Joseph will hate us, and may actually repay us for all the evil which we did to him.” So they sent messengers to Joseph, saying, “Before your father died he commanded, saying, ‘Thus you shall say to Joseph: “I beg you, please forgive the trespass of your brothers and their sin; for they did evil to you.” ’ Now, please, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of your father.” And Joseph wept when they spoke to him.
Why did Joseph’s brothers tell such a story to Joseph after their father died? Weren’t they all at peace with each other at this point?
Let’s read together Genesis 27:41-42 and Genesis 42:21-22.
Joseph’s brothers were still wracked with guilt for how they treated Joseph, selling him into slavery, and lying to their father about everything. They were afraid Joseph was only being kind to them for the sake of their father. Now that Jacob was dead, they were afraid Joseph would finally take revenge upon them.
Why did Joseph weep when he heard their story?
Let’s read together Genesis 45:3-8 and John 11:25, 32-37.
Perhaps Joseph cried because he realized his brothers still didn’t think of him as one of them. Perhaps Joseph cried because their story brought back memories of past trauma. Perhaps he cried because he had already forgiven them, but they did not believe his words.
Let’s read together Genesis 50:18-21; Matthew 6:15; Matthew 18:35; Mark 11:25; and Romans 3:23.
Joseph did not want servants - he wanted brothers and family. Joseph once again freely forgave his brothers. He reassured them he would not retaliate against them for the wrongs they had committed against him in the past.
Why does God ask us to forgive those who sinned against us? We all have sinned against God, yet He is willing to forgive us when we confess our sins and repent. In the same way, we must follow Jesus Christ’s example in forgiveness.

O Root of Jesse, you stand as a sign for all peoples; before you kings shall keep silence, and nations shall seek you out: come to deliver your people, and do not delay. ——————————————————————————————————— 1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the root of Jesse, and a flower shall rise up out of his root.
—Isaiah 11:1

“But the LORD abides forever; He has established His throne for judgment. And He will judge the world in righteousness; He will execute judgment for the peoples with equity. The LORD also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, A stronghold in times of trouble; And those who know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.” —Psalm 9:7-10
“Your faithfulness continues throughout all generations; You established the earth, and it stands.” —Psalm 119:90
“‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.’” —Jeremiah 29:11
“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” —Romans 8:28
“For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.” —Hebrews 4:15
“Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” —Isaiah 41:10
“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.” —Psalm 46:1
“God Inspires Our Trust” By In Touch Ministries:
“Our Father in heaven always keeps His promises and never leaves us alone.”
“As far as children can tell, their mom and dad know everything and can do anything. And kids typically don’t question that assumption without reason (for example, if they see a parent mishandle a situation or someone else influences their level of trust). Parents demonstrate reliability by consistently providing shelter, food, and safety—and also by lovingly teaching, comforting, and guiding their sons and daughters. Then the children can sleep in peace, knowing their needs will be met.
Likewise, we know that we can trust our heavenly Father because He has shown Himself trustworthy from the beginning of time. Psalm 119:90 says, “[God’s] faithfulness continues throughout generations.” He has never broken a promise, and His plans for us have always been for our good (Jeremiah 29:11; Romans 8:28). What’s more, God understands our weaknesses and never asks us to do anything that He won’t help us accomplish (Hebrews 4:15; Isaiah 41:10). We can trust that even in the worst situations, He will be with us (Psalm 46:1).
What does trusting God look like in your life this week? Where can you relinquish control to Him?”

God Revives The Spirit of the Lowly
The high and lofty one who lives in eternity, the Holy One, says this: “I live in the high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble. I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts. — Isaiah 57:15 | New Living Translation (NLT) Holy Bible, New Living Translation, copyright © 1996, 2004, 2015 by Tyndale House Foundation. God looks on the heart is often used as a comforting verse and there is much truth to that but let us remember that if we harbor evil in our heart God will judge that.
But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Matthew 5:28
Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
1 John 3:15
For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
Isaiah 14:13
But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.
1 Samuel 16:7
I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
Jeremiah 17:10

Line Upon Line Lesson 065: I Will Praise Him
Exodus 15:2 - The Lord is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; He is my God, and I will praise Him; My father’s God, and I will exalt Him.
Why should we praise God? Is He a narcissistic or an insecure divine being that needs our praise?
Let’s read together 1 Chronicles 16:8; Psalm 100:4; Psalm 107:31.
We first need to define what praise is. Praise is not the same thing as thanksgiving. We thank God for the deeds He has done and for the blessings He has given us.
Let’s read together Ezra 3:10-11; Psalm 103:8; Psalm 117:2; and Hebrews 13:15.
When we praise God, we acknowledge God for who He is. For example, we can praise God for His mercy and love.
Let’s say a father bought a toy for his son and made lunch for him. The son thanked his dad for giving him a fun gift and a good meal. The son praised his dad for being a good cook and being such a wonderful father.
Let’s read together 2 Samuel 22:4; Isaiah 43:1; Isaiah 45:18; and Revelation 4:11.
Why should we praise God? He is our Creator and Redeemer. We should praise God because He is worthy of our praise!

NOT FORGETTEN
As I listened to “Amara Onyewem ft Pastor Jerry Eze,” the song resonated deeply within me, serving as a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness in my life. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when circumstances and situations threaten our peace and faith. However, in those moments, I am challenged to hold onto my faith, knowing that God is always in control. He sees and hears us, even in our most…
