Sorry I'm a couple of days late!! My brain tried to escape my skull! Thank you for your question!! I will answer for each of the stories I'm writing <3

THE IMPERIUM CHRONICLES

Abriella would be the "mother hen" making sure that no one got left behind, everyone was staying hydrated, and that everyone was having fun. Cruz would be "dad" and "bodyguard" keeping an eye out for anyone causing trouble. Phaedra and Dez would be the ones wanting to go, do, and see everything. No matter how small or corny the attraction, they're going to want to go. Anna or Leandre would spend the most on souvenirs because they don't buy the cheap ones. If they're going to buy something, they want quality. Anna has an Eiffel Tower that is diamond encrusted. He has a block handmade of Japanese calligraphy ink that cost over $300. Thinius is going to be the one that is going to be into the food and wants to go to all the places the locals frequent. No chain places for him. Delilah will be the one that wants a schedule and to make sure that they stick to it. Talon will be the one that keeps Delilah from having anxiety when they don't stick to the schedule. LOL Olly will be the one that arranges the transportation and makes sure that they have enough room for everyone. BOMBS, BODYGUARDS, & BROKEN ARTIFACTS

Nic would be tour guide who found everything out about the location they were going and presented all the options for things to do, and briefed everyone on all all the security concerns. Mel would be the one that wants to go to all the cultural sites like museums, theaters, zoos, or aquariums. Gabe would want to go to the sporting events. Cade would want to hang out by the pool or at the beach. Alexander would be the one getting everyone to wherever they're going absurdly early. Cam would be the one that would be on Google Maps constantly figuring out the closest place to eat. Dez would be the one checking out the bars and nightlife.

BENDING THE LAW

Colin would be the one that planned everything, and Colt would be the one to question everything. Challenging it. Abby would be the peacemaker and also the one that buys every cute souvenir that they come across. Karsten and Keegan would team up to totally throw Colin's plans out the window and figure out a way to go and do all the fun things in the area. Kal would try to avoid being drug along so he could just relax on the beach. Decker is going to find all the bars. Serena and Spencer are going to look into cooking classes to keep up on their knife skills. Aoife will distract Colin from arguing with Colt so Dimitri doesn't kill them all as he gets them to the airport absurdly early knowing that otherwise they'll miss their flight like last time.

I wasted the majority of today waiting for delayed trains, such fun! And what does one (read: this idiot right here) do when one has nothing else to do? Right: try to make sense of confusing and increasingly irritating soap opera plots. And I need to get his out of my system (feel free to ignore this probably really messy post).

Because even though I was totally going to ignore this week’s fuck-up of an episode (ahahaha, who am I kidding? myself, obviously), I caved and watched the scenes. Last night at 3 a.m. #idiot

And then I cried (the e-mail!) and then I got angry (for various reasons). It all boils down to: what the actual fuck, Holby? Quelle surprise...

The point is: I don’t buy that engagement shit.

And I genuinely don’t think that the writers did That. I mean, they did, obviously. But I think the engagement didn’t actually happen, maybe they’re just trying to turn Alex into the antagonist, into yet another shifty/obsessive/predatory lesbian (because Leah wasn’t enough, eh?). Or maybe Alex is trying to hide that Bernie has gone off the radar on purpose. I really like that theory, but I don’t think the writers are creative enough to pull that off.

Either way, here are the reasons to believe that the engagement is a fake - based on the episode and other canonic events:

1) Serena had no idea who Alex was, so Bernie probably never mentioned her and obviously had no pictures of her in her flat/on her phone/...  Looks to me like Bernie was absolutely over Alex when she and Serena got together

2) Alex, on the other hand, immediately recognized Serena, even though they never met. Bernie must have talked about Serena (the woman she herself said she’d always love) a lot and must have showed Alex pictures of her

3) The ways Alex introduced herself to Serena when Serena didn’t know who she was: “I’m a friend of Bernie’s”. A friend. A friend. Like, one of many. Alex knows who Serena is: basically her biggest rival when it comes to Bernie’s affections. What kind of fiancée introduces herself to her partner’s ex as a friend?

4) Not only does cameron not like Alex, he doesn’t trust her. I’m not a big fan of Cam, but I think this is maybe the most important part. So far, Cameron has always been right when he relied on his gut instincts: the patient that had gone blind when Cam was first introduced as a doctor (I’m ignoring his actual first introduction because he was merely a plot device for his mother’s back story then. Oh, how the dynamics have changed...), and recently he was right about Evan(?) - which Chloe even pointed out in this episode. Basically, Cameron’s all-seeing intestines are his signature character trait. So why would the writer’s new Golden Boy suddenly be wrong about his gut instincts, when the entire narrative is based on them?

5) The background song they picked for the intro. First of all, the use of music to set the tone (lol) of a scene is rare enough in Holby Land, so it has to be significant, right? And they picked All I need by Air. Phew, that really got me. Because while I’m not the biggest Air fan, I know this particular song by heart. The chorus lyrics conclude: all in all there's something to live / with you - with an emphasis on with you. Tell me this isn’t about Serena and Bernie being each other’s be-all and end-all, I dare you!

That’s it for now. I could go on forever about other stuff (like the significance of communication via e-mail/texts when it comes to Berena), but I have to sleep, because I have a very important job interview tomorrow  😬

Edit: SCREAM at the very start of the episode having a scene that cuts directly from Cameron to Gaskell. In hindsight that’s so funny.

Also, no one would ever have thought when this ep first aired that Ken the drunk elf would be in the very last episode of the show. Wild.

Edit 3: Okay, turns out Cameron was always not only bland (which I remembered), but also always entitled and annoying. But at least he was an entitled, bland, annoying side character instead of the main villain of the show for 2 years.

Edit 4: The scene with Jac and Essie talking about Raf is beautiful.

Also, lol @ this from Essie: “You had a lot of people worried about you - Hanssen, Gaskell, Sacha...” One of these things is not like the others!

Edit 5: Immortal words from Morven: “Get over yourself, Cam.”

Also I miss Holby going batshit insane at Christmas actually, shame they didn’t do it in the last series.

Edit 12: There’s a few pretty decent Jac and Fletch scenes here. If they hadn’t over-pushed the romance angle and hadn’t had him be such a dick to her so often, they could’ve had a cute little friendship.

Edit 13: Interesting dialogue from John, considering his backstory (which hadn’t been revealed when I last watched this episode - yes, I haven’t seen it since it aired!). “Pain is a useful tool in our arsenal. It’s corrective. An important survival trait.”

Edit 15: “Auntie Serena said I don’t have a neurotypical response to grief!” Well, you probably don’t, Jason. However, “Auntie Serena” was still talking out her ass by thinking she could tell you about YOUR experience with the disorder you have and she doesn’t.

I do love Jason being a Doctor Who fan though (his social script of offering Essie a jellybaby obviously being taken from the Fourth Doctor). Now THAT’S an accurate autism thing (unironically. I don’t know why so many autistic people are into Doctor Who but we just are.). I wonder if he and Henrik have ever chatted about it. Possibly even if he got Henrik into it. Look, I just find the idea of Henrik discovering the 1990s Doctor Who movie and realising he really fancies the Eighth Doctor but having no idea why to be hilarious.

Edit 16: HENRIK AND MORVEN SCENE HERE WE GO

Edit 17: “You’d think I’d be used to it by now, wouldn’t you? All this death.” :( Henrik definitely felt that.

Also, Henrik’s whole “bird in a cage so expansive it’s under the illusion it is free” metaphor comes across more like it’s about his own feelings on the CEO job and how he tried to convince himself it was right for him than about Morven’s feelings about her job at Holby.

Also also, the little moment where Morven tells Henrik Arthur was lucky to have him in his life and Henrik’s EXPRESSION I just. Aaaaah.

Edit 18: This little Morven and Nicky scene is lovely.

Edit 19: Henrik clicking a pen over and over. Can’t tell if it’s stimming or a compulsion.

Edit 20: The Jeremy Warren plotline was sooo pointless. His little scene in this ep only happened to give the episode a cliffhanger.

Today in Serena’s adventures!

We kept exploring the tunels leading into the forge we gotta find and explore, but had to go around because we couldn’t open the door. We explored some tunels and areas, there are fungi that do damage if cut so we went carefully stepping on them. We killed a couple of Cricks? was it? Got a shiny new sword for our paladin Nayah. At this point I think I should tell you that I learnt the names of everyone, finally! Alana is our cleric, then Wundel is a gnome warlock, then the other gnome is Guille the rogue. Also, there’s Molk the lizardfolk with Uro the caracal (I think I told you he’s a hunter or something?), and finally Aidan, the old monk. I think I’ve told you about the monk being so cool? Anyways, I liked that character and I felt Serena was starting to respect and trust him, even hoping to find a friend in him after this adventure, I felt there was some sort of affinity in their way of seeing life? I don’t know. The thing is we found a roper, which is a very bad creature for our level 3 and BAD, HORRIBLE FAILS ON DICE. He failed his death saving throws after this thing knocked him out. And man, I cried with the cam on :__D not like gross sobbing but there were a couple of tears. I LIKED THE OLD MONK, HE WAS A COOL GRANDPA. What a horrible death. And somehow, his death saved me, because the thing got me too and I was unconcious and lost one saving throw as well. Man, this game was horrible. Our dice were literally killing us. The rest survived because we were falling on a river, basically, and it pulled us down the tunel. If it wasn’t for that... man, I don’t know how this could have ended!

So yeah, that’s the first death. I think Serena is going to have a rough time when she wakes up to the death of her fave companion so far. It’s going to suck :___D But oh well... the player is happy his character went down like that, fighting and having fun. But the rest of us are sad :/ DM included, he wasn’t expecting death so soon lol.

Let’s see what the player does next. Also, we’re one player down since our paladin is on vacations for two weeks! Oh man xD
