The page started as all her entries started: with a city and a date.

Dragged Serena on a walk today. Had to bribe her with wine but I think she secretly enjoyed herself. Beautiful countryside.

There was an inked sketch of a landscape of fields and vineyards after the first few scribbled sentences. Taped near the drawing was a candid photo of Serena making a goofy face.

After negating several threats, I managed to convince Serena to let me keep the photo. I had to swear it would never get leaked although I still say Rick would appreciate it. Not nearly as much as I do, of course. It's good to see her like this. Almost makes being without her all that time worth it. Whatever it is they have in the air over here, I'm grateful for it.

#i love this commentary because it's SO bang on#they are both feeling the same feelings#experiencing the same events#and coming to COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CONCLUSIONS#serena thinks she's embarking on a new relationship and moving forwards#and bernie is trying to salvage their friendship and go back to how they were#its why when Serena offers drinks and Bernie accepts#Bernie doesn't think anything different#because they've had drinks LOADS#its basically business as usual#but this time Serena is asking Bernie for drinks#in the office - which judging from the dialogue#even though Serena has done it before#it's a first for Bernie#anyway i could go on but i won't (tags courtesy of @backjustforberena)
