Ben-day Shots - Captain Britain #7
New Post has been published on Silver Does Stuff
Ben-day Shots - Captain Britain #7
Captain Britain #7 Week Ending Nov 24, 1976Cover Price: 10 pence Characters: Captain Britain / Brian Braddock, Hurricane, Content Note: hurricanes, plane crash (sort of) into ocean, death trap involving a jet To recap: Captain Britain is chained to the intake of a jet and when Hurricane powers up the jet he’ll get sucked in and shredded. Considering we’re only seven weeks in, I’d say the end is extremely unlikely… The first panel does match the previous issue, so that’s good (it’s fairly normal for the cover artist and the interior artist to be different, fyi, if you haven’t been […]

Danny: "I'd wait awhile, Thing. This isn't the time to stage a fight." Ben: "An' why not, Fancy-Fist? Got cold feet? 'Course, that wouldn't surprise me, seein' as yer only wearin' them dainty, sweet little booties." Marvel Two-in-One vol. 1 #25 by Marv Wolfman, Ron Wilson, Glynis Wein, Sam Grainger, and Irv Watanabe
I do believe this is our very first crack about Danny's "booties", from all the way back in 1977.

Hey all you wrappers out there! No, not Snoop or Dre, I mean bandaged up wrappers! Ed and I have reached our final destination, and no, there isn't a log truck next to us that going to send us to meet our maker, we're going to finish off the last two issues of the Living Mummy! It's been a fun ride, and we've had a blast, and that continues in this episode. Will Dr. Skarab, The Mummy, Zephyr and crew be able to stop the Elementals from taking over the world? Plus, we get to see the complete origin of N'Kantu! I do make an announcement at the end of the show, so listen in!
As usual, if you want to leave any feedback for the show, you can do so through email at [email protected] or to me on Twitter @Billyd_licious or on the show's FB or Tumblr pages (just search Magazines and Monsters). Definitely check out his podcasts that are available on any podcast app (Lords of Order, Ronin Rabbit, Newsprint Commando, Mighty Thorcast, and he cohosts the Superman Super Show, and Boom! [Image Description: Three people (a man, an androgynous person, and a woman) swimming in the open water of a lake. The man (left) has light skin and short brown hair, and is wearing blue swim trunks with pale blue wave and bubble patterning. He is smiling with closed eyes. The person in the center has tan skin, long green hair in a ponytail, and maroon eyes. They are wearing a green swim top, teal swim trunks with aqua leaf patterning, and a ring with a green leaf emblem. They are looking back at the woman and smiling. The woman (right) has light tan skin, purple hair in a bun, and green eyes. She is wearing a red one-piece swimsuit with gold shoulder straps tied together behind her neck. She is looking toward the center person and smiling. The background is the blue-green open water of the lake, with light filtering down from the relatively close surface. Aquatic plants and a large rock with an orange sponge can be seen along the bottom, and a school of Magikarp are swimming in the distance. End ID.]

Wanted to practice more underwater scenes, and what better way to do that than with Rosin Lake and the Rosin Falls Gym Leaders? When Sakiko came over from Johto for the Battle Peak, of course she had to come visit Kusaoi and catch up, and they decided to take her to the lake for a nice day on the water! And in the water, too! Clearly Reed was also more than happy to come along, I bet one of the boats he runs is up on the surface somewhere close by. I just didn't add in the outline of it in the background there because, well, I just didn't think about it XD
Anyway, speaking of the background, I'm really proud of how that came out, especially with me adding Spungel and the school of Magikarp as I don't usually add animal life in my backgrounds and keep them in the character art layers. Granted, that honestly is just the same Magikarp over and over again, but I painted the first Magikarp so I am within my right to copy-paste it all I want! …at least I would be, but it's no longer a free-standing element, so it wouldn't work taking it out of this pic now because green lake lighting and also It'd Be A Pain To Cut One Out Anyway, hehe.
